Why did you change the subject?
642  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction not broadcasting!!! :( on: June 16, 2014, 07:09:51 PM
Blockchain.info has seen it and treats it as a "high priority" estimated confirmation, in spite of there not being a fee. A good number of nodes have seen and relayed it. Hopefully some miner will acknowledge it soon and insert it in a block. After about a week, nodes will start to drop it and you will see the amount back in your account.

Does it matter which fiat currency, as opposed to the concept of fiat?

Is our thought more important than the fact itself?

Because they're not well-known enough for a Broadway play?

Why not some cheap ripoff play for some tiny "community center"?
647  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [IDEA] Project Zero Fees on: June 16, 2014, 12:16:11 AM
Well, the only way to kill txn fees is to mine blocks. If you want to do that before the reward hits 0, you can always send them to unspendable addresses, or better yet, to invest in more miners to mine more blocks and thus allow more fee-less txns. Or, as a last resort, you could send them to me Tongue

4 days, 18 hours and 0 minutes. The CPU power used to render 4 days of Bitcointalk has gotten me more bitcoin than mining with that CPU time...

Would it be nicer than a new 4-terahash miner at my doorstep, namely one not soaked by the rain outside?
650  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [IDEA] Project Zero Fees on: June 15, 2014, 11:56:32 PM
Yes, it is doable--hypothetically.

Can a miner choose not to generate new bitcoins but dedicate all their power to transactions for this purpose?

In order to allow transactions with zero fees, you need to actually mine coins.

For each block you mine, you get to choose which transactions you want to include. You'll get slightly less profit as you won't actually get fees, as you won't be charging any.

That being said, you'll need to generate a good percentage of blocks in the chain (that is, have a good portion of the world's hashing power) to actually make a dent in the number of fee-less transactions people want to send.

Are you looking for investors, or people with technical skill (e.g. programming)?

How much more specific?
653  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: BitCoin investors needed on: June 15, 2014, 08:55:12 PM
We would try it but we run a risk of losing coins.

Are you aware that the topic has digressed from quote pyramids over 220 pages?

I understand that you wish to message me in private but given the questionable nature of this activity it would be improper for me to keep it secret. The screenshot below shows what I mean. I've removed extraneous messages and redacted the OP's email.

656  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Minings pool selection of GHash IO 90% of our customers on: June 15, 2014, 07:25:19 PM
Have you considered starting your own pool to point client rentals at?

Anyway, for users that wish to use anything at ghash.io, it's really your judgment call as to whether they are a risk. If they are, don't allow them. Otherwise, when people select them as the pool, you could have them check a checkbox that they understand that directing power there is increasing their mining power share, yada yada.
657  Economy / Lending / Re: .27 loan I know I'm brand new have good means of payback on: June 15, 2014, 07:17:22 PM
Well, say Joe Smith loans you the funds, and then you never pay back? What would he do with your university email and Facebook? They don't really carry very much value to getting paid back, although that value is determined by the eye of the person loaning you coins.

Although it depends on the situation, collateral is usually a different cryptocurrency (altcoin) with similar value. It is returned once the loan is paid off successfully.
658  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: BitCoin investors needed on: June 15, 2014, 07:14:27 PM
Can you explain what this is, exactly? Good luck playing dice? Trade bot? I might consider investing once I know exactly what is happening, and some sort of collateral (as I still see this to be quite similar to a loan). The short span also seems odd.
659  Economy / Lending / Re: .27 loan I know I'm brand new have good means of payback on: June 15, 2014, 07:09:46 PM
This isn't going to work for a loan. If you don't pay it back, once someone has your ID, what can they really do with it, beyond waving it meaninglessly? They could damage you with it, but they wouldn't get back a loss if they incurred one.

Same with a proof that you're going to be getting money soon. Just because you have a proof that you're getting it doesn't imply that you are guaranteed to pay it back.

Nothing personal, anyway. We just have to be careful here.

Same here, once I make a purchase I try to get it into a real wallet as soon as possible after the 4-day wait clears.
