641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spreading Bitcoin on: October 24, 2017, 03:26:01 AM
I think cyber cafes are probably on the decline since pretty much everyone has access to the internet in some form on their phone or at home, maybe I am wrong but in my country they have all but disappeared, maybe in some poorer countries they may be more prevalent.

In terms of cyber cafes / internet cafes accepting bitcoin and pushing the price up x 2 this is unlikely, it would take a lot more adoption to push the price that far but for the cafes to accept bitcoin this is reasonable.
642  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex bitcoin 24 deposit/withdrawal suspension transaction on: October 24, 2017, 02:55:19 AM
Bittrex did warn everybody yesterday or the day before about deposits being suspended while they did their snapshot, everything is back online now so if it hasn't already your transaction should be on it's way to your account, it should become a habit to check the status of the receiving wallet if you own it when sending any amount to ensure things like this you are aware of but don't worry it will all be okay.

643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Alt coins - 2018 on: October 23, 2017, 10:29:24 PM
Thoughts on the following in 21018?

Ripple (xrp)
IOTA
Stellar
SIA

any of them going to rocket or crash?
I think IOTA has great potential and could really go well if it works without any major issues.
Ripple although it will increase, I can't really see it going crazy and giving anything like x10 but I could be wrong.

Stellar and SIA I have heard many talking about these but I haven't yet looked into them.
644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should I try to win back my loss? on: October 23, 2017, 09:34:27 PM
It's always a dangerous game when you start chasing your losses, sometimes it's better to take a break and come back another day.
645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to get bitcoin gold ? on: October 23, 2017, 08:33:16 PM
I think you may be too late to send your bitcoin to many of the exchanges as they will have or will be suspending deposits, your best bet is your own wallet like Mycelium or any wallet that gives you your own private keys and then you can do the split yourself.
646  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Moneyless Society on: October 23, 2017, 12:59:43 PM
Universal basic income is a bit like this I guess, but things are a scarce resource and always will/have been. You cant give everyone anything they want simply because the amount doesnt exist.
Universal basic income sort of fits this but it is still money.  I don't think we can ever do away with some form of money system until we as a race get to the point where we can replicate what we need from he fabric of space.
647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it actually worth buying btc of 50€? on: October 22, 2017, 09:04:58 PM
It is definitely worth it, you migjht buy €50, someone else might buy €500, if the price goes up you both will get the same increase relative to your investment.

Your €50 could turn into €75 for example, you could then take the €25 profit and maybe buy some promising altcoins and make some more that way, we all started somewhere, I was buying the odd 20 here and there at the atm starting off.

Of course you could also make a loss but if you don't take the chance you will never know.
648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Friend gives wallet seed to stranger and bitcoins disappear from his wallet on: October 22, 2017, 07:48:18 PM
That really sucks, your friend was obviously pretty new to bitcoin if they handed this information over, as much as we can all say how silly that was this highlights a problem that many newbies could face.

If somebody just buys bitcoin without any knowledge of how it works and then an issue arises they are more likely to put trust into somebody with more knowledge than themselves to help fix the issue and this is where a problem like this can arise.

I know most wallets warn you whem setting up to never share your keys with anyone as they contain your bitcoins etc.so there is a lot of responsibility on the user to protect their coins.

I think it is fair to say that your friend will never get their coins back sadly.
649  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin regaining dominance. on: October 22, 2017, 06:26:28 PM
A major reason behind this is the upcoming bitcoin gold fork, people know what happened last time and don't want to pass up the opportunity for free cash.

Rest assured this will change once people have got their gold and start moving back to their alts.
650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason why I hate BITCOIN on: October 22, 2017, 11:35:49 AM
I was asked by a friend why I don't promote Bitcoin { why i hated it} but love promoting altcoins. My reply was that Bitcoin can't give me 1000-5000% ROI in 2-3years time anymore but with altcoin that is possible.

I notice that each time I promote Bitcoin, I'm giving the early investors easy passive income why I settle for chicken gain.

Honestly I will prefer $50,000 in altcoins (with possible potential, underpriced and undervalued) than in Bitcoin.

Do you hate Bitcoin? Give reasons why you do or don't
I understand your thinking completely, altcoins can give a far better return than bitcoin can in the short term, you should also hold some bitcoin along with your altcoins to get the best of both worlds.
651  Economy / Services / Re: brickblock.io - High paying Signature Campaign - BIG Payouts! (CLOSED) [FULL] on: October 22, 2017, 11:33:29 AM
Hi strawbabies please re-count my posts, it seems to be not updated thank you.
I think the counting bot is having issues?
What I am seeing , a lot of participants have the same issue (posts count wasn't updated 2 days ago "

Nope, there is no bot in this campaign. Sir strawbabies check it manually our posts and the spreadsheet but he's not update the posts until now. I think he will count it soon or tomorrow which is 1 week.
No idea it was a manual process wow that would be very time consuming to do that daily, I think just the Monday would be enough to do.
652  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Saving Bitcoins for your Children. on: October 22, 2017, 09:22:07 AM
Like every other investment such as real estate, stocks and other forms of investment we know that you can invest in that kind of things and then you get something like say a Certificate or a Binding Document as a proof that you are part of that investment, now that of bitcoin all you have is just your address, your password, key and seeds as proof of the ownership of the wallet.

BTC

So now if one is considering buying bitcoins and saving for his/her children in the future is there any way to do that with bitcoins apart from having to write down your details somewhere. I'm asking because with that kind of stuff if no one knows your seeds or password no one can get the coins. Huh Huh Huh
I was thinking the same thing recently, I guess the safest way would be to put it into your will, we should be able to trust this right? I am sure people have left keys to safety deposit boxes and valuable items in their will I would assume you could also leave your private key with instructions.

654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Brace yourself winter is coming. on: October 21, 2017, 11:25:43 PM
First Bitcoin fork, then cash then China everytime we think Bitcoin has survived it and it shall move on, then suddenly out of the blue we get news that bitcoin is being forked again in November. There was a proposal, consensus was reached, why then do they want to do this. It will make three Bitcoins and we shall be a divided house. I don't understand this Roger guy at all, whose he to make decisions on behalf of Bitcoin community. I do hope no fork happens or what do you think will there be a fork.
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-09-20/-bitcoin-jesus-ver-sees-the-digital-currency-splitting-again

The November fork is not in any way, shape or form "out of the blue". I have known about it since late July and others surely before that. So I am not sure where you are getting your info from. Maybe you just heard about it now, but we have known about it for a very long time.

I personally hope there is a fork as it allows for implementation (or easier implementation) of Lightning Network, which we need asap as fees are getting out of hand.
The November fork has been talked about quite heavily over the last few months so everyone should be aware of it, perhaps the upcoming bitcoin gold has overshadowed the November one, the one in November at least has something decent in it, the bitcoin cash and the bitcoin gold fork are just senseless to me anyway, If I was a gambler I would put money on us having at least another 5 or 6 forks by this time next year, it will get to the point where it will become a joke.
655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: coins to invest in after the altcoin blooodbath on: October 21, 2017, 11:21:54 PM
Btc will be forking soon.the price is exploding now.virtually all altcoins are down.very soon probably after the fork we will be elated by the sight of green bars which will mark the revival of altcoins.which coins will u invest in after dumping ur Btc gold( as most people I talked to intend to).i will be picking up civic, tenxpay, kyber network, and pvx
As much as people want to keep their bitcoin in order to claim bitcoin gold, I think the best time to invest in alts would be now before the fork as they are all pretty much in a decline, after the fork it is assumed that alts will be back in the green but at what point we do not know, myself I have picked up a few that I have had my eye on for a while but not as much as I would like as i am also waiting for the free bitcoin that bitcoin gold will get us.

I haven't picked up any of the ones you mention, instead a couple that I have gone for are SHIFT, BNT, TRUST among a few others.
656  Economy / Economics / Re: UBS: Cryptocurrencies Are a ‘Speculative Bubble’ on: October 21, 2017, 06:42:33 PM
This is similar to what we have heard many times by the same people, I don't think there are too many people hoping that the banks and government would welcome bitcoin and start dictating what people can and can't do, even if they wanted to they simply can't and this is where the fear mongering comes from.

Many if not most banks have already starting looking to use the blockchain to speed up processes and save money, they will eventually create their own digital currencies but bitcoin will still be at the forefront and there isn't much they can do to turn people away from bitcoin.
657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold premined? on: October 21, 2017, 05:46:21 PM
it is premined which means after release the developer will get a huge amount of BTG tokens in his pocket for doing nothing.

it is bad because it makes the project look bad and like a scam. which is what all the scam altcoins have done to make money for doing nothing.
an honest developer doesn't need these types of action to make profit from his own project. an honest developer is someone like Charlie Lee of Litecoin who has invested in his own project with hard earned money like the rest of us and he made millions when he made LTC popular and big.

a premined altcoin can never become successful in the long term. it will always have that premine as a big black scam mark on its forehead till the end of its days.
Pretty much what he said, it always raises red flags when there is a chunk reserved for the developer for the simple reason that the developer at any time can dump their coins and then take their money and move on.

This has always been an issue with altcoins and many times the developers have run away with their profit and left the community behind.  I don't see any real reason for these pointless forks.
658  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Satoshi? Why did he hide his identity? on: October 21, 2017, 03:56:46 PM
Why did Satoshi hide his identity? Has anyone seen Satoshi in real life?
Is Satoshi one person? Or is it a community?
I have often wondered if it was a group or a single individual, I would like to think it is just one person.

Hiding their identity I think is a really good move on their part as now a few years on from it's creation we can see how desruptive bitcoin is and how it is worrying governments and the banking cartel, could you imagine if they had a figurehead for bitcoin, his or her life would be extremely stressful.
659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too many ICO incoming, i'm lost in those !! on: October 21, 2017, 03:44:12 PM
I'm just start into Crypto about 1 month, as people, i'm looking for a good ICO to invest with a dream that it will sucess and bring me some profit. But there is a lot of ICO incoming, some sound very good like HXT, Storm, Cryptaur or Electroneum. I'm really lost in those, i tried to do some research like people such as: their white paper, roadmap, v.v.. but i can't not found what is the best for me to start. Can you guys give me some advice or some trick to do a research.

Thank you.

ICOs are extremely popular now, you will see tens and tens of different ones popping up, you need to spend some time and look deeply at each one, are the developers credible, is the project bringing something unique to the table, is the ICO target reasonable and the community supporting it, what is their feeling, is there a lot of negativity and questions.

Hopefully you will find one that works out and everyone benefits but do not be upset if it goes in the opposite direction, they are risky.
660  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin hits $6000. How far will it go until 25th? on: October 21, 2017, 02:32:09 PM
It could go as high as that, we only have a few days left but as high as it might go it will drop a significant amount also, will that be 1 day after or a week? who knows.
