OK guys and girls.

I just made few fixes and compiled windows wallet for us as well. Its version is set to 1.8.1, so you can tell the difference from 1.8.0.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/fodu0f7y7w2uopl/Mintcoin%201.8.1.zip

New wallet properly sorts all transactions by date as a default. It used to sort them by status. That is why orphan blocks always appeared on top.
New wallet has option to go to Mintcoin homepage under Help menu. Now you can quickly reach Mintcoin FAQ  Cheesy .
Locking and unlocking moved to under settings menu. Unlocking for minting only not working yet. I will sort it out when i get more time.
This wallet also has latest git pull merges from others.

Cheers!

Hilarious to see here tens of posts per day from same few users. Over and over again... Could you please start posting something actually meaningful and not complete crap after every 10-15 minutes?
You know who you are.  Wink
This thread goes so long so fast, just cant keep up reading and probably often missing some useful post hidden inside of those pile of poo posts.
643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DIFF]DifficultyCoin|UNIQUE BLOCK REWARD|X11|DGW2|No IPO|ON EXCHANGES! on: April 21, 2014, 11:45:32 AM
is it possible to mine it or is it just a lost of time atm ? (I mean because of the fork ?)

First you should wait for dev to release new wallets with updated checkpoints. If you mine on wrong chain, then all your coins will be lost.
644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DIFF]DifficultyCoin|UNIQUE BLOCK REWARD|X11|DGW2|No IPO|ON EXCHANGES! on: April 21, 2014, 10:48:24 AM
There have been several difficulty adjusted block reward coins in the past. So OP statement is  false. Please adjust your statement.

Describe exactly what you did. Can not help you if you give me zero information.

There's a 0.05 BTC bounty for compiling a MAC QT client for Quebecoin. Anyone up for it?

welcome aboard! if you have some ideas for the future development don'T hesitate to post them! people here in the thread are really friendly!

Thanks!  Cheesy

I believe that the mint-qt needs some improvements, e.g.:
- Implement a small symbol in the bottom left showing when the wallet is "minting", when rolling the cursor over, you can see status, e.g. that you are not minting because your coins are not "old" enough, and then show the age of your youngest coin.

- Safty: when wallet is unlocked and mininting, then should the user be asked for the password again if sending mints.
- The logo in the wallet, should be more appealing (simple), perhaps just a mint-leave or the mint logo.
- Better installer, manually coping the conf file is not ideal.
- Window 64bit support.
- Mint blockchain bootstrap as torrent.

This is not meant as a criticize to mint-qt, it works great and is stable, just suggesting for new features.

you can contact kergecoin or the developers with your suggestions. i think these are really simple improvements that can be implemented in the 1.9 version.

Hi,

First of all. Please remember, that im not in developer of Mintcoin. Simply a fan.

- Minting/staking icon requires quite a bit of  changes and additions in source code. Mincoin source is based on different tree than blackcoin or hobonickels, which have this feature. So its not easy copy from another source. But its definately doable if anyone familiar with mintcoin code tree takes time for it.
- Unlock wallet for minting only from gui is not hard to do. At worst, its few hours of work. If no one else takes it then perhaps i find some free time for it later.
- I somewhat agree regarding wallet.png image. It could be better. I would also like a smaller window size wallet. I already made smaller version of wallet from 1.7 in past. No 1.8 yet. Anyway. This is not my decision to make.
- Most users dont even need .conf file. Regarding installer. I cant do it myself, since im not familiar with windows installers neither do i have software for making it. I agree that installer would be nice as an optional choice.
Also a static build would be nice for windows. Getting rid of those .dll files to make installing client even simplier.
- 64bit? I dont know any reason why to use 64bit wallet instead of 32bit on 64bit system. 32bit runs perfectly fine.
- bootstrap torrent. Perhaps it could be useful in later time.

Wallet is mining coins out of POS. but they don`t get confirmed. what to do?

If you are sitting on latest wallet then just sit and wait Smiley They will get confirmed soon enough.
652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: April 16, 2014, 10:30:38 AM
Its likely to settle at 9-12K for a longer term, but you can expect rapid movements to continue in short term.
653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Proof of Stake Coin List on: April 16, 2014, 08:46:10 AM
The purpose of POS is to secure the network. POS reward is paid to secure the network by minting. High % return of POS is just a self-diluting game that puts a downward pressure on the coin's price, hence doesn't offer real return as "interest".

What about this? Is this paragraph also correct in your opinion?

The purpose of POW is to secure the network. POW reward is paid to secure the network by minting. High block reward of POW is just a self-diluting game that puts a downward pressure on the coin's price, hence doesn't offer real return.

yes, this is correct
the problem with bitcoin is 5% inflation right now is a little bit high

it doesn't offer any advantage over 2% inflation security-wise other than giving ASIC miners a higher stake in the game

If you want to use fancy words like "inflation", then better make sure that you know what it means.
Heres wiki for you.

Holy Sh*t, did you guys are watching the megadump/panic sell on BC right now? From 50000 to 26900 in minutes Shocked

BC is being played by one or very few people. I did warn their forum community about this, but i was flagged as "hater" .
Just look at Mintpal candles and follow the orders a little while. What happened is the following:

Someone with million dollars to play with, gradually bought BC up. Most of the small players bought in from middle or on top, because they thought BC to rise some more.
First megasell happened at 62K and this should have been red flag for enyone who is capable of thinking strategically. Because price spiked down extremely fast. Clear indicator of one seller, not just normal market behaviour.
Whale let it settle and created new euforia. BC price went even higher than it was before. Price reached 89K. Whale dumped another huge amount. He let market to recover and buy orders to gradually pile up until at 64K he made 3rd big sell. And another at 54K and 42K.
Now all small "investors" are panic selling and price will fall some more.
Probably soon that whale is going to buy in again...

Same thing can happen with any coin. Also with Mintcoin. So please be careful.
655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: April 15, 2014, 07:53:14 AM
89K ---> 19K in no time.  Cheesy
Whales playing with fools is so obvious, that it makes me smile.
Huge dump on the market ---> let it recover a bit ---> another huge dump on the market .... and so on.
Anyone who doesnt see this coin being played by only few (or one) people, is either stupid or blind.
I will not be suprised if soon he/they will be buying on similar fashion.
Beware guys/girls!
656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: April 15, 2014, 06:25:51 AM
It's going down because it's stupidly overpriced. BC is not worth more than NMC lmao

Nonsense, its faster than bitcoin and litecoin and it resists 51% attack has less vulnerability to txid maleability which is great for constructing contracts and mines other shitcoins to buy itself. Its worth a lot more than this but if you dont want it, go somewhere else Smiley

If you truly belive that BC is worth more than it costs now, then you are simply delusional. BC needs time to grow. At the moment its highly centralized and has no purpose other than cambling with it.

Todays volume almost 60btc is very nice improvement. Price rise of 20% is also very good Smiley

Bitcoin is still like a few weeks old baby in global financial system. What this makes Mintcoin? Like a newborn, who started breathing just a minute ago...
Its kind of early to ask "where mint is going?", but short term plans you can read in Mintcoin forum.

It's a pump and dump.  A month and a half ago the pump of the month was Mintcoin and Vertcoin.

There's nothing special about Blackcoin at all and here are the reasons

- Faster Transaction speeds ~ a lot of alternate coins can claim this too
- Proof of Stake.  Old mechanism ~ Peercoin, NxT and other coins have had this for ages
- Bitclone (the client is a reskin of BTC)
- Distribution.  Top 100 wallets own the majority of Blackcoin.
- Novelty merchandise

I know the Bagholders and Whales will say I am a naysayer but there's absolutely nothing here to push Blackcoin into the $100+ million capitalization and let alone to keep it there.

Litecoin was a fluke, in part due to the dumb funds who missed out on BTC and threw money on LTC, and it's not likely to be repeated since those funds have since learned their lesson and realize they sit on worthless LTC coins.

I think it will reach its peak this weekend and crash slowly in 2-3 weeks after that, but it will still be over 3mil in marketcap.

I'm really interested in those statistics , can you provide a link for it:?

Also , I don't give that much tought for the rest of your claims  Smiley.

No one knows the balance of wallets. You can only know the balance of adresses on the blockchain.
Try to understand. Blackcoin uses Zerocoin implementation and coin control features. One wallet can simply have hundreds of incoming addresses and there is no way to track wallets.
