Allowance in bitcoin… that's pretty cool! The only thing he can buy without asking you is drugs though. (j/k)

I usually paired them with "real" gifts, but gave plenty of Casascius coins as presents this past Christmas. I also gave my niece and nephews "savings accounts" via individual wallets burned to CD, and address payment cards for easy depositing. My niece in particular was thrilled with it; I'll show her how to spend the funds when she turns 18 (although it'll be pretty cool if she figures it out on her own sooner.)
Careful with that, even CDs get destroyed if you keep them in the sun, or if they get scratched. Should be fine if you have a secure backup I guess.

Fake edit: Or in the microwave.

lol, fake question: who cooks CDs in mircowaves  Huh

it is pretty fun....the sparkles are pretty  Cheesy

I havnt gone through all these comments, but after looking through the pictures one thing came to mind that bothered me.  Who's brilliant idea was it to put skanky women on these cards...seriously?!  How does that make bitcoin look serious in any way?

lets do this, keep selling, keep pumping btc to them
dont be afraid bull horn will burn to the ground, tonight we dine in $4/btc

i may just be really tired but.... people like you make me sick!  why are you trying to promote destruction?

You must be really tired. A market needs bulls and bears. If everyone went long all the time and nobody shorted, value would skyrocket... only to crash soon after.

I'm shocked at all the anti-bear trolling on this board.

just seemed a bit malicious..

Chodpapa's given me enough info to do roughly the same thing if I build up enough historical data... that is very generous in my mind. He could just as well be sitting back manipulating everyone.

would anyone mind helping me on my way to do just this?  i dont want to poach or anything but i really want to learn how to start doing my own educated speculating.  if someone wants to pm me just saying theyd like to take the time to chat in IRC at a future date would make me one happy guy!

Have you tried reading the thread?  He goes into pretty high detail about his model.

yea doin that now, spoke too soon.

647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in tv show -The Good Wife - Episode 3.13 - Finding Mr. Bitcoin on: January 16, 2012, 03:48:59 AM
just in case if you were confused about the ending at first...  it made sense once i looked up Round Robin
Quote
The modern use of the term dates from the 17th Century French ruban rond (round ribbon).[2][3] This described the practice of signatories to petitions against authority (usually Government officials petitioning the Crown) appending their names on a document in a non-hierarchical circle or ribbon pattern (and so disguising the order in which they have signed) so that none may be identified as a ringleader.

This practice was adopted by sailors petitioning officers in the Royal Navy (first recorded 1731).

stewart, it wouldn't be too hard to write a bot in php to run stops for you, surprised nobody has made one yet.

Wish I had the smarts to do this, and what a great MT Gox trading help this would be. I would happily donate BTC for that kind of bot.

+1
653  Economy / Marketplace / Re: [ANN] Introducing PIMPCOIN – Bitcoins are SEXY NOW!!! on: January 09, 2012, 02:51:27 PM
OP, have you tried advertising this on eccie and p411?

what kind of fees are there to get your bitcoins converted into USD and sent to your bank the next day?

i think a feature that "hobbiests" would really enjoy is some escrow feature built in.

657  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MtGox/TradeHill SierraChart bridge - Realtime Bitcoin charts [v0.4] on: January 08, 2012, 03:19:20 PM
Hey guys, I am trying to get this set up.  I have sierrachartfeed-0.4 and Sierra Chart installed.  Whenever I try to run sierrachartfeed-0.4 it just instantly closes on me.  I am running under Win7 with administrator privileges.  I have also tried changing the compatibility settings to XP SP3 with no results.

What am i missing here?

I didnt know 4chan opposed bitcoin.... they seem to be the crowd to understand its potential but I am probably being too optimistic in their intelligence.  how does "anonymous" feel about bitcoin?
