Well, you could compensate them for helping move these separate chains along... Also - yes, if the whole network upgraded you could make Bitcoin be like Litecoin.

Just a fork of p2pool - not a totally new chain.
To give non-early adopters a chance, why not create a fork of p2pool that goes like this: I have a pathetic amount of khash/sec. Now, some other miner has 1GHash/sec. The system generates new blockchains - like p2pool - every day or so, and the pathetic people mine on the low difficulty blocks, and the powerful people mine the higher ones - until eventually we hit bitcoin difficulty level, and everyone is rewarded. Rinse and repeat with a new blockchain. This way, much more people can mine and power the network, get something out of it, and everybody's happy! What do you think?

My bitcoin-qt client says I have 0.1BTC, so why does blockchain.info say I have 0 when I imported my wallet?
HOW did you "import your wallet"? Pywallet? Bitcoin RPC Sync? And a heads up- Enable 2 Factor Authentication on your blockchain account. Mine recently got hacked and I lost my precious bitcoins

Sorry, what? The transaction shows this on my end... 50d8d00eb606a54af195664dee71e684f2571f9a59589b9638c6cbceca66dcac 18TKkStzCjdsD7qK3xWeCFdHtw7xnVr9Et > 1XPstvXx4wW4Dy3kmmgT1M2ynpzzEc4Mp 2 BTC

Hmmm... A Node.js exchange, where the system matches up sellers and buyers automatically (while taking a small fee)... Oh yes, and make it open source

Surprise! All our wallets have been hacked. Bye bitcoins
Yes, I can confirm being hacked. Well, I have 0.1 BTC in Pyramining, so I just need to hit the owner up for that.
No, because all my BTC's been stolen and I need to withdraw to a different withdrawal address.

I'm not sure about "Logik" being at fault.
People have been trying to hack into my blockchain wallet for about 2 weeks now every night and I have never used "Logik"'s API or even have any idea who he is.
Yeah, well I submitted my wallet pass to his API...
Ouch.
Yep.
Whiskers75 and Logik, you should partner up and start some very specific "bitcointalk bot consulting service" Who's to say we're not in cahoots already?
Wait a second, I'm the one making bots... He makes APIs. Well, I'm not going to stop you

Presenting... The forum is wanting a /r/bitcointip-esque tipbot. Well, here the project for that bot is! (I hear a 300 BTC bounty is being offered. Is that still valid?) This bot is written in Node.js, with a Java SMF API by Logik. It will use the forum account Whiskbot, recently created. Thanks to the author of kapitalize for the plugin! (Not decided that we will use this yet) Implementation The bot will use either node-bitcoin or kapitalize. It will take commands via PM (maybe post) and respond via PM (maybe post) Is there a way to create (via an API) blockchain.info accounts, or private keys + addresses? It is undecided which one we shall use. Status ~ A node.js module is currently being developed - waiting for Logik to reply.✓ Authentication is working.~ PM commands are still under development (API implementation completed - just needs an actual bot)- Post commands may be implemented, if the community requests.- Maybe theymos can implement an interface for the bot, like /r/bitcointip's. It will just use PM (maybe public tips), and planned commands to add are:TIP <user> <amount> GETBALANCE EXPORT HELP DEPOSIT
