I am surprised to hear when anyone says they had problems with their order!
Customers who ordered during the first half of Batch #2, using Guest checkout, are the ones having difficulty.

Gotcha  Wink

643  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [2] countdown! on: April 26, 2013, 06:27:59 PM
I have never experienced any problems with my order from Avalon. My account has looked like this since the day I ordered:

I am surprised to hear when anyone says they had problems with their order! Obviously you can see I tried to order 2 units at once, 3 times, but walletbit timed out. Those orders have always shown and even got email correspondence from Avalon about them. Sad

Managed to successfully order 2 individual units though! YAY!!
644  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL's Jalapeno exists - I have one in my hand and just uploaded a video on: April 25, 2013, 06:44:08 AM
Custom BFG Software?

Depending on how good at coding they are, surely they can make that executable display anything they like? FPGA anyone??

Just sayin'....

Avalon, can we have an update?
You started shipping very slovly yet no one received the tracking? Maybe you didn't started shipping or you are still shipping batch 1?
When is the upgraded fab going online? What will be the upgraded capacity?
You said that batch 2 will finish shipping by the end of the month, this isn't true anymore, correct?

Thank you.

I would also like to know when to expect my batch 2 to ship...

As an Avalon miner myself, I love this idea. Count me in if you need any funding....
647  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Poll: I just paid $1,249 for a BFL 25 GH/s Bitcoin Miner order! on: April 05, 2013, 09:39:56 PM
I ordered a 60Gh/s Miner for $1,299. I have asked for a refund but the PayPal account I used is no longer in use.... this is probably going to cause some problems  Huh

annoys me to know one guy in China does not have his unit, and many others have more than 2, how is this protecting the network?

After increasing their price from $1500 to $5000-$7000 or whatever it ended up being is very blatantly not trying to protect anything except filling their pockets with money. It baffles me the hundreds of thousands of dollars these guys received and can't even hire some kid to help with at least simple customer service responses and paper work. Just wait until more units are out in the wild and some start to  break or have problems. Good luck with getting help. "But I paid $6000 for it", so what, we don't have customer service. Smiley

The new price is 75BTC. I repeat, 75 BITCOINS. Whatever the exchange rate with fiat currency it doesn't matter...

If you are/were a prominent member of the BTC community (I am not claiming to be one, btw) then 75BTC should make absolute sense, because 75BTC is 75BTC. Not dollars.

If you had already mined 75BTC then 75BTC does not = $7000+

Which also points to the reasoning that the people getting their hands on these first ASICs deserve to have one because they have been supporting the network for years already. Also, only people in the scene Wink knew about batch #1 anyway! I was lucky enough to get batch #2. Now there are a load of (wait for it) 'noobs' winging about batch #3 and the price etc.

Do you not understand the bigger picture?

These ASICs are going to boost the Bitcoin networks' strength dramatically. FORGET ABOUT THE MONEY UNLESS YOU HAVE BATCH#1.

This was Yifu's grand idea to begin with: Strengthening the Bitcoin network.

If you're in it for a quick buck then generally you are not the kind of person Avalon were intending to sell too in the first place. This is much more about the bigger picture, for me at least......

The Bitcoin network is getting bigger and better, and more importantly.... more and more unstoppable!

On another note:

Anyone else notice the recent media 'propoganda' on Bitcoins? The BBC especially... I keep reading more and more articles from them in which their facts are just plain wrong or seriously outdated.

update: mine received.

That is all.
651  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Batch #1 Ships on: March 31, 2013, 08:20:43 AM
First of all guys, it's the weekend.  Do you work 7 days a week?

Also, there is the fact that they are using portion of batch #3 money to buy an SMT machine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SMT_placement_equipment

Now, buying that machine means that they have a huge project in programming said machine, testing it, and incorporating it into the assembly line for batch #2 and batch #3, which may take a few days or weeks on its own.  But each day that is spent getting the SMT-based assembly line set up will save several days in total assembly time for all pre-ordered units.

So the best thing for them to do, since they just got the $5-6 million to upgrade production, is to get the rapid assembly line finished, then return to the work of building and shipping units.  I am guessing that is what is going on, since Avalon team is all about integrity, being fair to all customers, and securing the bitcoin network by distributing hashing power fairly.

It might hurt a few people that are late batch #1 or early batch #2 customers individually, but it will help the network and all their other customers to first increase production capacity, then assemble all pre-sold units and ship prior to announcing the sale of upgrade modules (batch #4) and plans for gen. 2.

+1

I've got 2x Batch #2 orders, so I'll let you know in a month or so

What about something that is designed to run on x86_64 hardware:
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/security/axl600l/

The HP/Atalla AXL600L SSL Accelerator Card is a 33-MHz, 32-bit device that incorporates a dual voltage signal bus and meets or exceeds PCI 2.2 specifications.
656  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Batch #3 Not selling as fast.... on: March 25, 2013, 09:08:05 PM
And then there are people like me who have the money to buy one, but can't get hold of BTC to pay.

 Sad
657  Bitcoin / Hardware / Batch #3 Not selling as fast.... on: March 25, 2013, 08:40:16 PM
So it looks like Batch #3 isn't 'selling out' as quick the previous batches.... by which I mean they're actually still available.

Thoughts?
658  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [AVALON] - I got my ASIC Thread (Batch #2) on: March 23, 2013, 11:09:32 AM
Any updates, rumors, speculation about Batch#2?

Yeah. They're keeping us in the dark for this one  Angry. Would love to know when I can expect my Units, I have a summer holiday to plan!  Cheesy
659  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: store.avalon-asics.com - "prepping for batch #3" on: March 18, 2013, 09:54:30 PM
Strange.... exciting?  Undecided

I can normally login and see me order status here:

http://store.avalon-asics.com/?product=avalon-asic-batch-2

But even that redirects to the 'prepping for batch #3' page.

Where's my batch #2 Unit!?!?
