annoys me to know one guy in China does not have his unit, and many others have more than 2, how is this protecting the network?
After increasing their price from $1500 to $5000-$7000 or whatever it ended up being is very blatantly not trying to protect anything except filling their pockets with money. It baffles me the hundreds of thousands of dollars these guys received and can't even hire some kid to help with at least simple customer service responses and paper work. Just wait until more units are out in the wild and some start to break or have problems. Good luck with getting help. "But I paid $6000 for it", so what, we don't have customer service.
The new price is 75BTC. I repeat,
75 BITCOINS. Whatever the exchange rate with fiat currency it doesn't matter...
If you are/were a prominent member of the BTC community (I am not claiming to be one, btw) then 75BTC should make absolute sense, because 75BTC is 75BTC. Not dollars.
If you had already mined 75BTC then 75BTC does
not = $7000+
Which also points to the reasoning that the people getting their hands on these first ASICs
deserve to have one because they have been supporting the network for years already. Also, only people in the scene
knew about batch #1 anyway! I was lucky enough to get batch #2. Now there are a load of (wait for it) 'noobs' winging about batch #3 and the price etc.
Do you not understand the bigger picture?These ASICs are going to boost the Bitcoin networks' strength dramatically. FORGET ABOUT THE MONEY UNLESS YOU HAVE BATCH#1.
This was Yifu's grand idea to begin with:
Strengthening the Bitcoin network.If you're in it for a quick buck then generally you are not the kind of person Avalon were intending to sell too in the first place. This is much more about the bigger picture, for me at least......
The Bitcoin network is getting bigger and better, and more importantly.... more and more unstoppable!
On another note:
Anyone else notice the recent media 'propoganda' on Bitcoins? The BBC especially... I keep reading more and more articles from them in which their facts are just plain wrong or seriously outdated.
