Which crypto will be on your exchange?
I was thinking this myself, it would be interesting to know what the plans are as regards currencies and tokens. Are the plans to be similar to GDAX with 3 trading pairs, Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin. or is there plans for a more extensive array of crypto?

take your time, there is no rush. Make sure to visit the beginners and help section which explains how you progress from newbie to jr.member and further and the time it takes. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=39.0very few campaigns accept newbie accounts and as a newbie the rewards are very small. It is better to build your profile and get accustomed to the site and its different boards. When in a bounty campaign you need to be a daily visitor to the forum and get involved daily.

So even Jamie Dimon made an impressive U-turn and ends up coming back to his bold and ignorant statement earlier. This only demonstrates that even bitcoin's biggest critics are slowly but surely becoming converts themselves. I agree that ico's need to be reviewed though since it's a business like any other except for the fact that they create their own cryptocurrency and are funded by crypto.
This proves that he's smart. He knew he was making a fool of himself and i'm pretty sure some well known and smart people have reached out to him to explain how blockchain works and prove him wrong. We all read the story about his daughter who is a crypto investor, just like so many of us here on this forum. As for the ICOs, many of them are scams, but it's the same in the startup world. I've seen so many huge startups that were crowdfunded and ended up as scams. One of the biggest ones is solar roadways. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_Roadways It's not an outright scam, but a huge waste of money, money that will never see ROI but will eat up billions in maintenance. Many ICOs are like that and investors will never see their return. Such is life... what a plonker he is. he tried to damage Bitcoin last year and it had no long term effect, and now he has to be seen to talk positively for his potential customers [futures traders]

2018 could be a very interesting year for crypto. When I say crypto I mean the unregulated type. There are a number of things that have yet to be resolved with bitcoin, transaction fees and transaction speeds. There is also the new movement by China towards crypto mining, which IMO wont help with my first point. Futures trading may have an effect positive or negative going forward for bitcoin and crypto. Then there is the unknown and unforseen events which have yet to have yet to happen >>> and they will

I can gladly say I have never been in a pump group. What I see with these pump groups is a very small group of people infleuencing others into their circle to take advantage of others because where there is a PUMP there is a DUMP and who suffers? the people who dont know the dump is coming and that could include the people helping to pump.

News yesterday is that Visa will be blocking cards like Tenx because they are not actually connected and no deals signed. It will also file a case against the cards supplier.
Ducktales unless you show proof. Other cards aren't being shut down, via Visa Europe in the following link: https://thenextweb.com/hardfork/2018/01/05/spending-bitcoin-with-a-debit-card-just-got-a-lot-harder/"We can confirm that WaveCrest’s Visa membership is being terminated due to continued non-compliance with our operating rules. All of WaveCrest’s Visa card programmes will be closed as a result. Visa has other approved card programmes that use fiat funds converted from cryptocurrency in a number of jurisdictions. The termination of WaveCrest’s Visa membership does not affect these other products. Visa is committed to the security of its ecosystem and compliance with Visa’s operating rules is critical for ensuring the safety and integrity of the Visa payment system. Our issuers’ card programmes must comply with our membership regulations, as well as all applicable laws." this is the case indeed. i assume there are plans underway to find an alternative supplier/partner? and i assume cards will have to be re-issued? this is a massive blow to the project. I ordered my card in November but still have not got it and im in Europe.

the main thing here is to NOT PANIC like what a lot of people seem to have done, the prices always float back to a healthier level.
in fairness it was a strange move without prior warning but I suppose we will be getting a truer value going forward from coinmarketcap.

They will have big competitors in this niche like airbnb, FlipKey, Verbo, HomeAway and others. What makes them so sure to be successful? Did they already contacted owners?
good points and questions. The project sounds good and already is creating a bit of a buzz. It would be nice to know it there are already foundations laid in regards to an existing development team and possible connections made with owners, sellers and investors?

initially the feature which stands out for me with legolas is FIAT withdrawals and Deposits. This is such a simple feature but is in my opinion essential in an exchange and one which the likes of Poloniex and Bittrex lack.

Well for me there are two! my long term holding of SIA as everyone knows now has its share of publicity and is well deserved. I solid project with solid developers delivering solid developments. and the very new Legolas exchange as per my signature, looks like a new approach to crypto exchanges here is the announcement link > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2383397.

All my wallets have a strong password, and I only use electrum on a Linux machine.
Am I pretty safe?
Say I didn't touch my wallet or entered the password while the computer was connected to the internet, Am I considered safe? And If I don't touch it now untill I actually feel like I have to move some funds should I update to 3.0.4 and just use my normal wallet using the passphrase? So basically if I don't leave my electrum software on while in browser I'm basically safe?
as from the announcement by theymos if we dont use the electrum wallet without upgrading it will be fine and if we have a strong passphrase set up we are marginally less at risk. Lets see how this pans out but a safe bet would be to upgrade as per above advice. **THANKS TO THEYMOS AND THE ADMINISTRATORS FOR ALL THE BACKGROUND WORK THAT GOES INTO THE WORKINGS OF THE FORUM AND FOR KEEPING EVERYONE SAFE!!

Hey guys I am not sure if this is the place to ask but I was wondering how the host storage space works. You basically can rent out storage space of your pc and get paid for it? But what happens if the pc breaks down, are the files secured?
I am really happy to see this project finally get recognised as it should! I have been a long term holder of SIA so the current buzz around it is great. I cannot answer the question above as I am not hosting myself but the SIA forum is a great resource as it their site. Here is the link to the forum for those interested in hosting going forward. > https://forum.sia.tech/category/11/hosting

I used to have a nice amount of ripple back in Jan 2017. I had it on Gatehub also. I still have 25.922 there but cannot liquidate it. On this link they state that the minimum reserve is 50XRP https://wallet.gatehub.net/#/help/overview/walletsWhy? why does there have to be a reserve? They say it is an anti span thing EDIT **** After a bit of surfing on their site the reserve is actually as follows The main reserve requirements are: 20 XRP per account (always required), 5 XRP per each trustline* (connected gateway). 5 XRP per each open order.

Under the current bitcoin status of transaction speeds and fees I could see a move away to alt-coins in 2018.
Also because of the high value of bitcoin a lot of everyday normal people will get very little for small investmens, instead the lure of lower priced alt-coins will be attractive, as an example just look at Ripples move over the last week.

Of course, this prediction depends on ICOs not being scrutinized further and regulated, which hasn't really been the case so far. There were a lot of scammy ICOs last year, which give the rest of the ICOs a bad name, so although people should be responsible of their own money and decide where they should invest it, I wouldn't be against some ICO regulations at all.
2018 could be another massive year for ICO's but . . . it all depends on whether there will be further clampdowns on ICO's by other countries apart from China. There has been a lot of ICO's for sure in 2017 but there have also been a lot of scams and projects that have yet to come to life.

you could use coinomi mobile wallet!
1. export your private key from your electrum wallet
2. install and setup coinomi from the apple app or google play stores
3. Add BCH onto the coinomi wallet
4. from the coinomi dropdown menu choose 'sweep wallet'
5. input the private key from the electrum wallet.
