100 BTC buy wall now at .00589!!!
Doing some selling against the wall, I don't trust it'll hold. Feels like a same setup as with the 10k DRK on crypt the day before  Struth, by crikey, by geeze, by gingo's that is a big buy wall. Someone eat it!  sellers will have a hard time selling below 0.00589 .. thats for sure. edit : maybe i should refrase it as buyers will have it hard time buying below 0.00589 |

i was thinking about the Darksend mixing which is under review to make it more fluid, faster
and with better feedback towards users .. what if the wallet could give its users a visual signal when
it detects a lot of mixing going on? That way people who need to do some Darksend mixing for themself
will know it will be a good time to join the mixing right then and there.
Think of it like a traffic light, if its on green it means a lot of mixing going on while if its on red there is little
to no mixing going on.
Kind of like women's ovulation tests!   It's a good time of the month for mixing...  ovulation test turned out positive  |

I dont believe its real buy wall. There is 1800 or so DRK up to 0.006BTC... This seems to lift a price and then dump more. Why would anyone put whole 100BTC at once with an intention actually to buy DRKs...? Thanks for the info I will keep it in mind. I was attempting to share the datadir with 2 wallets, and the transaction total showed up as Zero dark... Debit: -1000.00 DRK Credit: 1000.00 DRK Net amount: 0.00 DRK Transaction ID: f47ee8906c296921917............. I went and looked in the first wallet that I have and this version shows the masternode payment as zero drk sent also. I guess I should have compared them before freaking out. Guess holiday travel has me a little nuts.  Anyway, I setup the 2 wallets so they are separate datadirs (before I realized my faux pas). I guess I will wait until after the holidays and try it again with a single datadir. It would be cool to run both of the wallets from one download. Thank you for your time. Another question: How does one enable Darksend in their wallet? Do I need to anonymize some coins between the 2 wallets? Thanks yes, you need to anonymize some coins first. You can set the amount / rounds in the options, after it reached the set rounds to mix it will get availabe in yr darksend balance. i would set the rounds not higher than 4, and the amount to mix a lil bit below yr total balance. Darksend mixing will take some time as yr dependent on at least two other participants to pair with (3 pairing), you can do mixing with option only to anonymize and it will unlock yr wallet only for anonymization Masternode wallets can not be Darksend mixed by the way... mixing will be greyed out there. This is done so the 1000 input amount will stay intact in the masternode wallets. So basicly its mixing in one wallet and then darksending it to yr masternode wallet. Our main developer and his team is looking into making the darksend mixing more fluid, faster and with better feedback towards users, its high on the agenda. |

pls check both the second masternodes DRK addres and the addres from which you sent it here : http://explorer.darkcoin.io/chain/Darkcoinif second masternode addres shows the 1000 DRK there but yr wallet doesnt then do a -reindex on yr second MN wallet if the 1000 DRK are still in the sent-from wallet acc block explorer but perhaps not getting confirmed then do a -zapwallettxes on yr sent-from wallet. * With a new masternode wallet its important to first sent 1 drk to test the wallet, see if it arrives there correctly and then do the full 1000 DRK * Make backups right after creating new wallets let me know what you find.. edit : also make sure that the wallet.dat in yr datadirectory is named exactly as mentioned in yr shortcut : example 1 : yr shortcut mentions -wallet=test.dat then your wallet.dat should also be renamed to test.dat in the specified datadirectory example 2 : yr shortcut mentions -wallet=readme then your wallet.dat should also be renamed to readme in the specified datadirectory Thanks for the info I will keep it in mind. in target of shortcut :
D:\DarkcoinMN\darkcoin-qt.exe -datadir=D:\DarkcoinMNData -wallet=XXXX
Blockchain will be in specific location on different drive (D drive in this case) using commandline -datadir
wallet.dat needs to be renamed as XXXX to work
XXXX : yr own renamed filename, can even be extensionless (without .dat)
Darkcoin.conf not necessary to change with this setup

Sure. A much better idea, instead of changing the name, is working on DRK's public image: instead of "glorifying" darkmarkets and drugdealers we (the Foundation and the Community) should make periodical campaigns (humanitarian, bla, bla bla...). Image matters a lot more than the name.
I liked a suggestion some pages ago of making aliases, like, funding the young Malala with some MalalaFundWallet (powered by Darkcoin).
Campaigns and propaganda are very healthy for the image...

It needs to make a positive use of the dark name e.g. - sponsor bringing lighting to Africa - sponsor blindness research etc etc team up with the largest light bulb manufacturer, flashlight seller, headlight installer, NGO in Africa bringing electricity, power companies in the USA bringing electricity and light to where ever etc. etc. etc It needs to get some professional "fluffy and nice" marketing co. behind it or marketing expert. While all good and well the technical details of the coin are superior to everything out there, that is the back end that is of no interest to the general populous. They need to see the coin in a warm and fuzzy light. On the middle level team up with something like Alibaba or Alixpress in China touting the virtues of people being able to transact with full anonymity without restriction and their .gov monitoring them, China wherever. Does not all have to be perceived seedy underworld shenanigans just because of the word dark in the name and the high tech mechanism about its usage. Never understood why a professional marketing effort has never been put in place. There are enough people who believe in this coin to be able to come together a raise enough funds together to retain such a marketing operation. It just seems everyone is sitting around waiting and watching for BTC to do the heavy lifting to bring up DRK along side it every time it sneezes. 2015 needs to see some effort put into this coin and get it out there. Just my 50,000 DRK  i think first they were concentrating on developing Darksend, opensourcing it, squashing bugs that might arise once on Mainnet and then they would move towards the big marketing campaign. But then Evan stumbled upon InstantX which put us firmly back into the development and testing phase. edit : and maybe they were also waiting for the Darkcoin Foundation to be put into operation first. |

Last thing you should do is change the name, drk is one of the most recognised names in crypto and changing it would be stupid
This way of thinking will get us nowhere. We will always stay in our small crypto world, getting pumped up to 0.007 if we're lucky, being recognized as a drug coin. Sooner or later big holders will start to dump... With all the possibilities darkcoin has got, we could get to an average Joe. Joe will not touch this coin as long as it has got this reputation. Dark=shady=illegal. This is what masses will always think. why am i getting reminded of early bitcoin days when i read yr comment ? I think some of you are too fixated on the name Darkcoin, avarage Joe will only care about if the coin delivers what it promise to deliver .. which is anonimity and fast transactions in the nearby future. And who knows what the masses think, its a brand new market which you cant compare with normal markets and which makes predicting what the masses will think impossible. edit : i wonder if the blackcoin or greycoin or whatever communities are having similiar discussions ... i have a feeling they are not. |

No, --zapwallettxes would delete any unconfirmed payments. -rescan or -reindex (not sure if they're different) would redownload the blockchain.
I was thinking that it shouldn't be too difficult, code-wise, to create 2-3 buttons or options in the qt client that would restart the wallet with such options. It would be extremely useful to prevent "scares" for users who do not know how to recover, reindex or delete/reset a broadcast and who come here for help. It would be much easier, support-wise, to simply tell a user "click on the reindex button", or "click on delete unconfirmed payments" (which would automatically restart the client in this mode). CMD-line is so 80's and 90's.... i agree, would be very helpfull and make the wallet far more user friendly |
