lol, nice!

es ist nicht nur "be your own bank"
sondern: "be your own offshore bank"

•Sectors with low visibility

Really? Seems to me Bitcoin has a huge visibility compared to it's market size.

Only after the massive wave of coverage after Cyprus, though.  Even now, I'd estimate maybe 1 in 100 people I run into, have ever heard of it.  And I'd guess that only 1 in 1000 actually own any.  It's definitively not on the radar of the average person, or even the average speculator.  I'd say the transition out of low visibility will be marked by sufficient retail awareness to drive the issuance of a Bitcoin ETF on a mainstream exchange, analogous to gold in 2004.

there is a recent poll showing that 1 out of 6 germans has heard about bitcoin. that was before it gained the present attention: it is regurlaly in the mainstream print/online media overhere.

6469  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KnCMiner Openday Wednesday 5th & Monday 10th June on: June 02, 2013, 08:31:00 PM
defxor, johnyj, jonand, tosku, daggeteo were the original crew potentially going.

Des for also had a friend who was an ex-ASIC designer he wanted to take I believe...

JohnyJ and Daggeteo el quizmaster (with friend) have confirmed for sure.

when will they attend?  i have already booked the flight. can´t change it. a lot of people doubt they can ship 28nm asic miners by september. i am no hardware expert. but i will be there. if anyone has a good strategy of what questions to ask to find out if their scheduling is realistic, i´d welcome assistance.
6470  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KnCMiner Openday Wednesday 5th & Monday 10th June on: June 02, 2013, 08:08:52 PM
can we create a list of people who will attend to the open day ?

i will be there on wednesday, 5th of june,  2nd show

there was a list of questions collected. is it clear who will ask them ? can we get some practical organizing done instead of bashing each other? we should try to make the open day as effective as possible.

6471  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KnCMiner Openday on: June 02, 2013, 07:22:03 PM
ORSoC partnered with them to make KNCMiner

KNCminer IS ORSoC

People seriously are worried about them?

Sure, nobody is saying they aren't above having technical problems and whatnot.

but ORSoc isn't going to fucking run off with your money

not that it matters, because you won't be getting one until 2014 unless you registered on their website the day they posted the thread, or want to pay 10,000$ for a <500 order (actually a sub <200 order probably because you can buy up to 3x per #)

See what bicoinorama re-posted.

ORSoC AB != KNCMINER AB

Same people involved but those are 2 *different* *companies*. Do you still think you will be doing business with ORSoC?

They started the company of 5 people/directors 3 of them from ORSoC (higher-ups) and 2 people from the original KNCMiner proprosal.  that's how i read it.

And that's all true but your assumption that you will be dealing with ORSoC directly is erroneous.

Same people, different companies, different liabilities and different responsibilities. If KNCMINER fails, ORSoC will not protect you.

then demand personal liability. demand orsoc protection. have you done so ? and what did they answer ? my guess is that you are assuming this.

wow, amazing presentation. one of the best i have ever seen regarding bitcoin.

i am getting a bitcoin start-up going. we plan launching in october. we had talks to german vc already, they showed interest. is it possible to book you for an launching event for giving such a presentation? how much do you charge ? (you can pm me)

i am impressed.

6476  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KnCMiner Openday on: May 30, 2013, 09:33:45 AM
lol? maybe missing the point but what is the difference between "customer" and "professional miner"

guys, I don't know if you know it, but everybody how buy the product from you is your customer and doesn't matter, if he own ASIC farm or one graphic card.)

vat laws were not designed by kncminer or orsoc. what are critizising here?
6477  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KnCMiner Openday on: May 30, 2013, 09:19:58 AM
And to clear the VAT issue ....

DO the prices on your site INCLUDE vat @ 25% ?

No they don't include any taxes, We are not aiming our site at consumers at all. We are not advertising our prices in any consumer press etc.

We are selling professional devices to professional miners.

Jut like that the price went up with 25%

it is really not THAT difficult to see what you need to do: get a trade license. in germany for example that costs 30,- €. when they ask you to fill out the section: type of business ? you put in "cryptocurrency network support"

this will take less than an hour. most of us live in countries where trade is free, secure and encouraged by the government.

voila, you are a professional miner now.

just like that the price went down 25%

edit: companies like orsoc are usually doing business with other businesses, not with consumers. when such companies display prices, it is always without vat. vat applies to consumers only.

Yea karpeles is shitting in his pants right now, he'l be stuck in japan, no more interviews of him, no more communication on Gox issues..

preet bharara took down LR. before that he killed online poker in the US, took down fulltilt.
6479  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Der Aktuelle Kursverlauf on: May 29, 2013, 06:40:51 PM

das ist der typ, der LR vernichtet hat:

http://www.zeit.de/wirtschaft/2013-05/preet-bharara-staatsanwalt-new-york

und es war nicht sein erstes großes ding. er hat auch fulltiltpoker und das amerikanische onlinepoker auf dem gewissen.

hier kann man ihn bewundern:

http://www.davidnews.com/2013/05/liberty-reserve-laundered-6-billion.html

besonders interessant, was einer seiner sherrifs bei 28.30 sagt.

6480  Economy / Speculation / Re: Liberty Reserve shutdown is a boost for Bitcoin? on: May 29, 2013, 06:26:16 PM
Press conference of Bahara and his sheriffs:
At 28:30, guy talks how they are not targeting virtual currencies as long as they comply with Fincen rules.

http://www.davidnews.com/2013/05/liberty-reserve-laundered-6-billion.html

nice one! thx

(but i still think all this glamour of being in worldwide news will be tempting for bahara. but this will take a while. he killed an elephant and gets the trophy. he will want that again. but not directly after the first one. once it got boring again, once the first trophy isn´t shining that golden anymore - then he will want to hit another one. 1 or 2 years from now.)

Meh, he headed the multi-year investigation and bust of Pokerstars / FTP / Absolute Poker. Who knows if SDNY will even be working any cases related to virtual currencies in foreseeable future?

wow, that was him ?! which supports my reasoning. so it went this way:

bahara: all that glamour after we took down fulltiltpoker... it is fading away. i need to get on stage again. i want to become ny mayor or president. let´s atomize ... bitcoin!

minor clerk (holding bitcoins): uh.. boss... that is difficult. it is atomized by design.

bahara: i don´t give a f*ck. i am hungry.

minor clerk (googles desperatly): why not take down a more promising player ?

bahara: i don´t give a f*ck as long as it is worldwide media coverage.

minor clerk: how about liberty reserve...?
