No one is going to send you anything without collateral accepted prior to the exchange.

ofcourse it doesnt work that way . however it can be used as evidence.
now if you want to ignore it ... thats up to you.

It's not used for evidence for anything at all. I've already stated above that it doesn't get recorded in the database of any changes. Considering two staff members also confirmed this after..
6523  Economy / Services / Re: Wallet Corrupt (Paying 1btc if fixed) on: November 17, 2014, 11:50:06 AM
I've messaged Garvis some of the easier ways of a possible recovery, however I'm unsure of Garvis capabilities and whether he will understand it or know how to do it. I've sent him what I think will work without me having a closer look  at the physical file. If push comes to shove I'll ask whether he will be comfortable handing me the file so I can tinker around with it. Although , I'm hoping the methods which I sent him will work and he'll have no problem executing them.

Otherwise, I have advised Garvis to look for someone else as I don't want to keep him waiting if someone else can provide a solution. When, I'm back I'll be more than willing to take this under my flight and also listen  to anything anyone else has to say. Although I'm not back until Wednesday/Thursday so I won't be able to look at the wallet straight away.

Just like to thank everyone who recommended me by the way, it's much appreciated as I love to help others.
6524  Other / Meta / Re: bitcointalk.org does not open at my home computers :( on: November 17, 2014, 01:04:24 AM
There's a few reasons why this might be happening, but it's quite possibly your ISP.

Blocked/Restricted websites on internet options.
I don't believe there is a built in feature for chrome to block individual sites so it may be a extension you have installed. Otherwise, Firefox does have a built in feature in the options.

Hosts file.
Hosts file has already been mentioned. Here's a more in depth guide: Link

Flushing DNS.

Remove Extensions.
Remove any extensions which could be interfering with Bitcointalk.org. If you've added custom blocks on ad block it's possible it's blocking the loading of the websites body.

(This took way too many edits to get the format acceptable...I think it's time for bed. I'll look over it again tommorrow when I'm a little sharper & put in some more solutions too)

It can be used to identify you if your account is hacked. Obviously legendary members are bigger targets for hackers.

Although it's true Legendary accounts are big targets for hackers, posting an address in the signature won't help for security reasons as it can get changed & changes to the signature doesn't get recorded, unless Theymos as a custom script.

I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't get recorded, at least when I did my bit with smf it didn't. Posting an address in the body of a post, personal message is different as they can be saved. I believe on the older versions of smf you could only save messages if at least 1 of the recipients of the personal message hasn't deleted it. If they have both deleted it then you couldn't recover it. I'm unsure if that covers this version of the forum though.

Which charities are you talking about here?

What I meant was that the majority of charities pay themselves & employees huge amounts in bonuses. I'm unsure about local charities, but the big ones are quite well known for it.

I like science movie

This is not a science movie, this is that special kind of movie; Bullshit...not so special I suppose seems the majority of movies released stink on it.
6528  Other / Off-topic / Re: What would you do if you had 1 million BTC but couldn't keep any of it? on: November 14, 2014, 06:10:24 PM
Step 1: Create charity.
Step 2: 'donate' to charity.
Step 3: Pay myself & employees millions in bonuses every year.
Step 4: Donate barely anything to the actual cause.
Step 5: Act like I'm saving the world when really I'm taking the majority of the money in my pockets and spending it on the Bugatti veryron I have parked outside.

Only joking, but that's basically what most charities do.

I would probably look into investing in Bitcoin related companies.

Do you want a fairly safe hot wallet? Is that what you are talking about? Use the search function or google it, it's been documented a thousand times.

6534  Other / Off-topic / Re: Chromebook for University? on: November 09, 2014, 08:05:18 PM
You may need to install some software for university projects, may be for statistics software, or analysis in excel using advance formulae. I don't think a chromebook is a safe investment.

Really depends on your course you are studying. Although, most Uni students can use alternative software which can be accessed online.
6535  Other / Meta / Re: Why was I banned for ten days for posting articles in politics and society? on: November 09, 2014, 07:23:33 PM
You were caught scamming Grin Remember

Considering users don't get banned for scamming, that's not the reason.
6536  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcoin Wallet Password Recovery Without Needing Your Wallet.dat FREE on: November 09, 2014, 05:34:57 PM
Would you be able to recover a litecoin wallet? I know you said you don't do alt coins but I'm willing to pay.

Shoot me a PM. I only do alt coins in my spare time, although I have had some spare time recently and am not busy at the moment. Although, Alt coins are less priority.  All my recovery services are free.

Although, I tend to only accept jobs which are 100% secure for the person, unless they are willing to take the risk. I normally try to advise against that and guide you through the recovery process myself instead of you sending me any data.

6539  Other / Off-topic / Re: Time to switch to i2P? on: November 08, 2014, 05:39:57 PM
I2P just requires a more nodes to be up and running, that would mean it should be more secure than Tor, but of course if you want more nodes more people have to take the plunge initially when it's not so secure. Although, it's still going to be vulnerable to the attacks which Tor has undergone the past few years. Although, I believe it can be more secure than Tor with more people creating nodes.

At the moment Tor is probably more secure due to more nodes, but I2P why not be in the main scope at the moment because of the lack of users, thus this would make it more secure because of the lack of attacks, although there have been quite large attacks on both.

I'm sure there are more. It's only a feature of the NTFS filesystem (Windows), not every OS by the way.

I've used a similar system when I've run Windows in the past, pretty solid actually.
