6541  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] TRUCKCOIN: For the fastest decentralized global market on: November 17, 2017, 09:43:43 AM
Well I dont know much about mining but I do know
its difficult to mine Bitcoin.

The low difficulty level of truckcoin can only see a
good take up in mining it.
6542  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: November 16, 2017, 05:29:56 PM
i know its hard to believe the price drop we have experienced
but it is only a $value, there is still development work taking
place and storage useage is on the increase.

It still has the same future we all got involvd with it for!!

Here is an earlier post by Hakkane:

Does the project cooperated with some well known enterprises? the storage market is a hot market, but there are already many big whales in it, so what is the market plan?

Two weeks ago an arrangement was made with the RNDR so they'll use the Sia storage network for storing their rendering projects of their project. Aside that, the team is right now focused now on increasing the reliability and scalability of the project, so I don't think it is the moment for marketing. I guess that will come next year.

Has Sia still been developed recent months? Have you ever use Sia services i  real life? thank you all.

This question has been answered 2 or 3 times in the last 2 pages of this thread, please next time check the last pages before posting. It is actively being developed, this is a report of the very last week's progress:

<<Development update for week of November 5, 2017
The Sia team has contributed to 6 repositories since Sunday Nov. 5th.  Most of the heavy development work was focused around the new writeaheadlog and pages repos.  Chris led that effort with over 4,000 lines of new code committed and merged.  Keep up the good work Chris!

Luke has made excellent progress integrating the new writeaheadlog and pagemanager (pages repo) into the Sia codebase.  Development is ongoing and must be completed before 1.3.1RC2 is released.

David spoke over the weekend at ScalingBitcoin 2017, you can view his talk here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=8352&v=3pd6xHjLbhs

Luke, David, and Ava continue to make incredible progress in the backlog of Pull Requests and Issues.  Across the 6 repos updated this week 9 PRs have been merged, 15 issues closed and many more labeled, reviewed, and commented on.  This week also marked the first full week the Sia team had an on-call person who was available via Discord for community questions, code reviews, and general Sia discussion.  Thanks to mtlynch for the on-call suggestion!>>

Aside that, the service has been working for 2 years and currently the storage network consists on 3.3 Petabytes of available storage across more than 850 hosts. It holds 105TB of data. This is the growth of the file contracts in the last 6 months:

6543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dragoncard - UK Visa card supporting BTC! on: November 16, 2017, 10:48:46 AM
i just came across this news here >
http://www.prnewswire.co.uk/news-releases/cryptocash-comes-of-age-new-crypto-card--exchange-to-launch-for-london-market-657567943.html

https://londonblockexchange.com/

This is fantastic news and a great way to introduce instant
payments ANYWHERE with crypto, similar to TENX I suppose.

6544  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] TRUCKCOIN: For the fastest decentralized global market on: November 16, 2017, 09:10:46 AM
So far we have had contact with Cryptopia, HitBTC, Bittrexx, and Livecoin. From our engagements, we are received positive responses and we are now in advanced stages of listing on both HitBTC and Cryptopia. Hopefully, Truckcoin will be listed on these exchanges in a few weeks time. We want Truckcoin token holders and miners to be able to trade and exchange coins seamlessly once the ICO is over. Most importantly, we want to make Truckcoin the cryptocurrency of choice in making peer to peer transactions. In this regard, we are in the process of creating both Android and iOS wallets that will ensure users have access to their tokens through multiple platforms. The progress of these wallets development will be announced soon.  Smiley

This is a good news post.
Good positive actions with the mobile wallet creations.
I am happy to hear that you have been in touch and
have had positive responces with Bittrex as its a very
popular and reputable exchange.
6545  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think LTC go up soon? on: November 16, 2017, 06:55:12 AM
Litecoin is very stable and has been for a number of weeks
It rose recently with bitcoins recovery, it isnt going to be falling.

I think its on a slow steady rise.
6546  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: (┌・。・)┌ 👌 Do you think you lost your oportunity to invest in Bitcoin? 👌 on: November 15, 2017, 09:58:18 PM
I have said it many times "never too late to buy Bitcoin"

So many people this year have asked, is it too late to buy Bitcoin,
this was when it went to $2000, then $3000, then $5000!

Just BUY
6547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What scares them the most? on: November 15, 2017, 08:04:46 PM
Form two different people i have heard to insane
reasons to not get involved with crypto and bitcoin
in particular.

A. Its a pyramid scheme.

B. Bitcoin? you cant spend it anywhere!
6548  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to Start Trading? on: November 15, 2017, 02:54:39 PM
Ok well as posted you need to use an exchange as above.

You can buy bitcoin to start with on coinbase and then
transfer them to you exchange of choice. You cannot
buy bitcoin with fiat on bittrex or poloniex.
6549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cash fork and its effects on Bitcoin on: November 15, 2017, 10:58:33 AM
im not so sure about some of the comments.
Look at Bitcoin today its climbing back steadily
and will rise over $7000 by the end of the week.

Ok Bitcoin Cash seems to have stabilised for a
while at around $1200 but its not going to have
a long term affect on BTC IMO.
6550  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can anyone help me in claiming Bitcoin Gold coin. on: November 15, 2017, 07:06:02 AM
Well i know of Coinomi wallet. It supports BTG.
Here is a breakdown of the steps to claim gold

1.] export your private keys from electrum, [or any other wall with private keys]
2.] move your BTC from that wallet to another wallet
3.] download coinomi wallet from google play or apple app store
4.] create an account and add BitcoinGold currency
5.] use sweep address in BitcoinGold wallet to import private keys
6.] ass each private key is added any related BitcoinGold will be added to your coinomi wallet automatically.
6551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Why so long on: November 14, 2017, 05:48:30 PM
Can a transaction take 2 days?
I send bitcoins somewhere almost two days ago and they still haven't arrived.
Any ideas whats happening. Any way of cancelling and getting it back?

yes it can happen and take longer that that also  Grin

if the fees are too low the transaction will not be
treated as a priority instead will be pushed down the
queue so to speak.
6552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] TRUCKCOIN: For the fastest decentralized global market on: November 14, 2017, 03:42:54 PM
I do not understand how ico sells again in a day
Popularity!
A lot of people can see the future potential in a good ICO
with a good technology, developement, road map etc.
and Truckcoin has all !
6553  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bela - Mission: Make Cryptos Simple [Poloniex Listed] on: November 14, 2017, 02:39:46 PM
I wish luck to Belacoin with this new thread. I am following this coin since the first announce of Belacam application. I know this coin has big potential and the price is very very cheap at the moment like some other good projects and altcoins. I know the dev is working very hard (even some mistakes according to me) I am sure Belacoin will go to new ATHs after the lunch of Belacam.
Good luck

I wasnt aware of this new thread until I visited the old one today.
I too have been following Bela since the first announcement by
The Ambia Fund. Lets hope we can move forward with this as
Belacam has gone completely off the boil IMO.

Yup same boat as you, Im holding a bit at a loss lol. Kinda left it on Polo for ages.
Can we get listed on another exchange, that alone will bring a lot of attention to the project which quite honestly is more interesting than 90% of ecr20 tokens going around now.
Binance or Kucoin are pretty good these days, while polo has been really buggy and slow with support a lot of users are just leaving it now.

yes i moved my trading and exchange activity from Poloniex
to Bittrex. Poloniex indeed was buggy, bittrex is less so.

Hard Fork Update (11/5 - 11/11)

Finished everything laid out at the end of last week, with the exception of the Genesis Block changes. That is saved for a later date because that's where we "break" from the old chain. The tasks laid out last week are as follows:

1. Alter the parameters surrounding the genesis block and starting difficulty as well as the difficulty scaling of the system
2. Hash out the networking aspect more, and prepare a plan for migrating user data from the current blockchain to the next one

This upcoming week should mostly be the networking changes. We are moving through this portion of the project much faster than we thought we'd be able to.

As for Belacam Gamma, the official release date has not yet been announced.

What do we need to do with our windows wallet if anything?
6554  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold (BTG) on: November 14, 2017, 12:43:24 PM

I owned bitcoin in my wallet electrum, how do you claim to own btg?

You can export the private keys from Electrum and import into Coinomi wallet. Just google and you'll find step-by-step instructions.

(To be safe, make sure to move your BTC from existing wallet to new wallet before entering those private keys anywhere)

1.] export your private keys from electrum
2.] move your BTC from that wallet to another wallet
3.] download coinomi wallet from google play or apple app store
4.] create an account and add BitcoinGold currency
5.] use sweep address in BitcoinGold wallet to import private keys
6.] ass each private key is added any related BitcoinGold will be added to your coinomi wallet automatically.
6555  Economy / Economics / Re: Classification of possible attacks on Bitcoin on: November 14, 2017, 11:32:32 AM
very interesting article and makes for interesting and concerning reading.

We can be confident enough that the developers are moving to secure
the network at the same advancement as possible threats, hopefully
staying one step ahead.

Something which isnt on that list is the threat from "quantum Computers"
is this a possibility for the future where a super computer can attack the
blockchain itself?

6556  Economy / Economics / Re: Will there ever be a Bitcoin Bank on: November 14, 2017, 09:10:33 AM
i highly doubt that this will happen but nobody knows
what the future holds.

I suppose on reflection it would depend on what way
bitcoin turns out. I mean that we are seeing a lot of
investors entering the market and the majority of them
dont care about what bitcoin was created for, it is
more seen as an investment commodity.

so the decentralisation issue may not be a determining
factor in why there wouldnt be a bitcoin bank.

?
6557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold (BTG) on: November 13, 2017, 10:25:17 PM
Its all a bit up in the air, i dont think anyone really
knows what exactly is going on.

I have keys ready to sweep but i think i will hold
out a bit longer until things settle down and we
get a sense of whats what.
6558  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's the best alts to trade? on: November 13, 2017, 07:58:37 PM
my understanding is that the requirement to make gains
in trading as a currency that is not stable and that it
fluctuates a lot and often.

If you look at the charts of the old reliables, ethereum,
dash, litecoin, monero they are quite stable. yest they
do rise and fall but not DRAMATICALLY and OFTEN.

look at the low value currencies like OMG, QTUM and EOS
for example they can rise by 100% in 48 hours.

those are just examples and my 2c's

6560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit2x — can it happen despite of its cancellation on: November 12, 2017, 07:42:43 PM
How do you think, can SegWit2x happen even after it was cancelled? People, who deal with crypto and heard the news that this event is possible are lost. Bitcoin is losing its positions. What now?
Your opinion about altcoins if the fork happens.

Just to be clear on language, the actual announcement only talked about a suspension, not a cancellation. Of course, the content in its entirety effectively said that they would not pursue Segwit2x plans. However, it says that there may definitely come a time to once again examine the issue, but it has to be pointed out here that even Bitcoin core has never been against an outright hard fork PROVIDED they were confident that it was relatively safe, secure and warranted.

So Segwit2x may not happen, but hard forks similar to it may one day come to happen, with CONSENSUS. That is what the announcement finally agrees to.
terminology is important, segwit2x was not cancelled, it was postponed.
Im sure at some stage it will be back on the table as will no doubt other forks.
