I just had to post a picture of this 2.3 Billion difficulty share I had this morning.

just updated my mercury from .98 to .98.1 and HW errors went from 6.9% to around 1.5%. also, rejected was 3% to 0% now!

definitely a good upgrade. all cores functioning as well. none are off.

UPDATE: been running .98.1 for 30 mins now, hw errors down to 1.1% and dropping. still no duplicate shares!
0.98.1 was intended for those with a dead die; die 0
There is no other difference as far as I know.

EDIT: Also of note, according to bertmod, 100% of all my cores are running, so I don't know what the problem is with the hash rate, some of the cores are just not getting enough power due to the bad VRMs?

If bertmod is showing really low amps for one of the VRMs, you can try to turn off the fan on that unit and let the heat rise to 75C or so.  Many people on the KNC forum have revived cores by doing this with .98.1.  It worked for one of my cores but I still have one that won't come on.

What the hell is this crap.  Angry

They send the documents ahead to Ohio before the package actually arrives there.  I got mine delivered in Los Angeles the same day it left Ohio.

Could it be the bertmod screwing you guys up? I did not install it yet and mine works fine.

Nope, I have bertmod (with zpm fix) installed on mine and no problems.  Rock solid at 560-565GH/s.

Jupiter upgrade from .97 to .98.

Watts at the wall increase from 597 at the wall to 674 at the wall.

Performance increased from ~545 GH/s to ~565 GH/s.

Hardware errors decreased from 4.7% to 1.2%.

No real change in temps.

Great upgrade!

is bertmod & enablecores the same thing?

NO!
667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 29, 2013, 02:33:08 PM
any reports on .98 firmwares? Grin

I am testing on my poor performing units and so far looks great!

The disabled cores now seem to have a smaller negative effect on overall hashing power.
668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 25, 2013, 10:39:59 PM

I got this one too, had to go back down to .94 to get it working again. .95 worked as well but crashed after about 30 minutes.

I've gone back to fw 0.95. It seems to be connecting to BTCGuild again and it's now averaging about 187gh/s, but I'm getting a lot of disabled cores.

Its so weird that I can't update my firmware, otherwise it doesn't work. WTF?

EDIT: I seem to be having the same issue. It restarts after awhile. Did you ever get to fix it? Or are you just stuck on 0.94?

I am stuck at .94 for that ASIC.  I am going to send it back.  I have an RMA for it already.  I am running it like this over the weekend and will send it back on Monday.  You should be getting over 250GH/s on a Saturn so both of your boards may be slow.  I would check each one individually and see what hash rate you are getting on each.  With any luck you will get 140 GH/s on one of them and can send the other one back.

I have no idea what the hell is going on

Got another Jupiter today.  It was underperforming (~495) and one of the ASICs was about 18C higher than the others.  Used a flashlight to look under the heatsink and found that KNC didn't remove the plastic between the chip and the heat sink.  Removed the heat sink, removed the plastic from the heat sink and replaced it.  Performance is about 15 GH/s higher and temp is down to 50C (was 68C).

Someone else posted on the KNC forum the same problem:

Just got my Jupiter which was a "Day 2" order.  Running at ~500.

Has anyone whose order was suddenly marked as "shipped" yesterday gotten tracking info? Seems like there are a lot of us who have not...

No, I got a response from customer service and even though my order has been marked as shipped since yesterday (15th), it has not been shipped.  They said I should expect a tracking number later today (16th) but I have not gotten anything and it is the end of the day now in Sweden.  Looks like it can not make it out until at least tomorrow (17th).  "Shipped" no longer means it has left the factory.

I can't believe the network hash rate....I new it was going to explode...but more than double?

I made a thread to help people predict this.  Said 6 to 8 PH/s by end of the year.   Honestly I think now it will be closer to 8 to 10 PH/s.  By mid 2014 we probably are looking at 15 PH/s+  if ASIC companies serious cut prices (say <$2 per GH/s delivery in 30 days or less) we could see more than 20 PH/s.   I don't think 30-40 PH/s by end of 2014 is that conservative.   Worst case scenario we way overshoot and end up 50-80 PH/s and new sales flatline for a while.

As usual, your predictions are spot on.  All of my spreadsheets agree...

Wishful thinking.

"The bottom line is that 1,000 tonnes of diamonds a year are being created on Saturn."

Should have got one of those instead.

Saturn and Jupiter.

No one has confirmed a tracking number past a day 2 order yet.

I have, my previous post. I am not day one nor day two, but paid on the 4th, and I got my tracking number now though its stage is only that the label has been printed the item is ready for UPS to go pick it up.

Awesome!  Looks like we are finally past the pre-order queue and working on June 4th pay date.
678  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 14, 2013, 04:05:08 PM
Does anyone know what the pay date is of the orders that are being shipped out now?

It appears they are still working on the pre-order queue. Once they are finished with the day 2 orders they will start working by pay date. No one has confirmed a tracking number past a day 2 order yet.

I paid June 25 and went to "In Progress" several days ago. My guess is that they just set all orders that were supposed to be shipped out by the 15th to "In Progress".

I have orders that are supposed to be delivered by the 15th but they are not even in-progress yet.  My guess is that in-progress means they are building your unit. They are likely building them in order by pay date.

Got a tracking number this morning for my day 2 Jupiter paid on June 10th. Package has not yet arrived at the UPS facility but is scheduled to be delivered on the 16th to the US.
Whoa whoa whoa whoa. Wait, day 2 is not a June 10 paid order, someone correct me?

I paid the 9th and am not a "day 2 order" - on top of that i'm still sitting "in progress".

"Shipping in order of payment my ass."  Roll Eyes

June 10th was the last day to pay and still hold your pre-order queue spot.  Once all "Day 2" orders are processed, it is strictly by pay date after that.  Order number are irrelevant btw.  People should be posting their "pay dates" as they get tracking numbers so we can see where KNC is at in the queue.
