661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Warning: Please check that the computer's date and time... 0.8.2 Client on: June 12, 2013, 01:23:37 PM
Yes, I did check the year.  And I think it started the day after the power went out last Sunday.  I've double checked the date and times on both my local DHCP router and my Internet modem.  It doesn't appear to be stopping the program, but it is a mystery.

I had this warning on my linux client. It didn't cause any problems though and I think it disappeared after a while. Date was correct in my case too.

Total network hash rate has jumped by nearly 10% to over 154Thash/s since last night. Diff estimated to increase to over 18 million by Sunday.

The estimate is already at 18.5M according to bitcoindifficulty.com

Interesting times Smiley

664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which countries have the friendliest bitcoin regulatory environment? on: June 09, 2013, 11:55:26 AM
Very important question. I say there won't be any country who'll show support for BTC.

If we check the 2 following sites:

http://blockchain.info/nodes-globe?series=mostStable

and

http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/images/68042000/gif/_68042497_global_bandwidth_624.gif

It's no surprise that "developed" nations have access to the most bandwidth and have the most people connected. bitcoin has the most users in these countries obviously, but the burden caused by our own banking systems makes adoption very slow, or at least slower than possible.

As these are also the financial leaders in the world I would expect a long, hard struggle between bitcoin and the leaders of these territories.

I consider friendliness towards bitcoin as pure wishful thinking. Not many people understand what it means to be able to transfer "wealth" without forced and mandatory "middleman". If you look at the propaganda against btc in popular news sources like BBC it's apparent that the war is on.

everything is fine on my end Cheesy

It seems I got yer rewards Tongue
OK so you got also less on 18473... Not the only one...

Actually,I think that's normal. my earnings went from 0.11-0.10 / block to 0.09 - 0.08 for the last few days, probably because the recent rise in pool hashrate.

I'm looking to buy an ounce of platinum, do you plan to sell Platinum bars from reputable mints?

I would buy Pamp Suisse, Credit Suisse, Johnson Matthey or Engelhard Platinum.

It would be a nice addition to your selection.

We have actually been receiving a lot of requests for platinum recently! We have about 2 weeks left to get caught up on a lot of the delayed silver orders. Once those are all caught up, we will start pushing out a lot of new products. Some of them include:

AG-47 silver round
Mexican Libertad Silver
Platinum
100 oz silver bars

Thanks for the heads up.

I'll wait a bit with my purchase then.

I think ASIC will start the demise of bitcoin from the consumer point of view, if you cant mine for BTC why pay a premium to buy them when a debit card and amazon will be cheaper for any LEGAL goods you might want to buy. Speculation and slightly dodgy transactions is all people will want BTC for.

Fluctuations in price are nothing new.

In my opinion, It doesn't really matter.
669  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Great Misconception on: June 07, 2013, 04:33:05 AM
I don't care much about dollars, but experiencing massive inflation on my own currency is not very nice. :S

670  Economy / Speculation / Re: The India factor (i.e., when is India going to wake up to Bitcoin?) on: June 07, 2013, 04:26:39 AM
Given India's population and relatively low bitcoin usage, it's per capita usage of bitcoin must be one of the lowest in the world. What gives?

Look at the number of downloads of the bitcoin-qt client over the past year. India is ranked 17th (again, surprising given the size of the country)

http://sourceforge.net/projects/bitcoin/files/stats/map?dates=2012-06-01+to+2013-06-07

What are the factors that hinder adoption/interest in India and when will that change?

Considering that people in India are very poor, I don't think that adoption will be fast there. Lack of infrastructure, education, etc are all slowing BTC adoption.

Hi, because of problems in database, I temporary disabled showing unconfirmed rewards. I'm migrating database to new structure where such calculation will be possible again and displaying rewards from unconfirmed blocks it will be available tomorrow. No block reward has been lost, this is just displaying issue on website.

Today there was rather short outage of website, because I reconfigured load balancer for website. Everything is working again.

Thanks for the update.

Keep up the good work Smiley

The reward related fields came back up, but I'm missing rewards from most of todays blocks now.

I suppose it will be fixed later?

The block erupters can be overclocked, yay Cheesy

Some linik or/for more info would be welcome.
You will need more power than USB 2.0 can provide, but we now have 3.0 with x2+ power, so ...

Actually I have 4 of the Blades.

the normal mode runs at 10Ghs and in OC it's around 12.5-13Ghs.

I cool  them with 1x240mm and 2x140mm fans.

There are several threads here on bitcointalk with spec and user feedback too.

I cant afford the asics, hell i cant even afford a small time fpga.....wish i found bitcoin mining early on  :-(

There are ASICs below the price of GPU, but with them there is no pleasure of tweaking and overclocking

The block erupters can be overclocked, yay Cheesy

Good luck, I've asked that of members numerous times almost a 100 pages ago.  I've simply given up.  Now I just try to keep up with the 4-8 new pages per day and hope that all the newbs start to figure things out sooner rather than later.

It's human nature mixed with laziness Smiley

lol, on both sides -- some noobs can't wait to get a quick info fix or are too lazy to look up answers on their own, and some ex-noobs jealously guard their info or are too lazy to give the answers again.  at least we're all human.

I think everyone can decide if they want to answer questions or ignore them. ;-)

If you considering it as stealing time, I'm not even sure why you participate in a public forum?

Can someone please educate me about the NMC reward?

I have only 1 so far as you can see in the picture:

Should I keep running my miners or should I switch to a backup pool?

Are the shares going to be added later or are they lost?

NOT complaining, just wondering if anyone else is seeing a lesser reward on this round as it doesn't seem to be getting corrected?

It's alright for me.

I had a bit less than usual on 18343   2013-06-02 16:33:13   0:00:23   50946   150   0.07358613
