The confirmation bug was fixed this morning. I was trying to reduce server load but not polling so many transactions at once from listtransactions, and ended up setting the value slightly too low, meaning it wasn't seeing updated confirmations on blocks that were more than 60 transactions deep.
I'll try and fix issues like this with the coming versions by implementing improved functions you can use for such things. There is a *LOT* of room for optimization and ease of use for developers.

Note: my personal opinion is that Solidcoins are a scam, but I understand that some users may disagree with me on that, and this opinion has nothing to do with the present warning.
If you want to test SolidCoin, you are very likely to also own Bitcoins, and this makes you an ideal target for wallet theft. It's actually rather easy for people to test whether Bitcoin's wallet.dat will be accessed. There are sandboxes, string searches, etc. You might as well say "never run another binary again because it may steal your wallet". The fact is the bitcoin binaries themselves can even steal your wallet, better not run the client at all. Or "Leave your computer turned off - only when it's on can the wallet be stolen!!" You are right that people should be hesitant to trust anything new, trust takes time to build. However your alarmist attitude sounds more like someone who is afraid of what SolidCoin represents to Bitcoin. Also with wallet encryption coming up in the bitcoin client (already in SolidCoin) I hope people become less concerned with their wallets being stolen as they will be useless to thieves and hackers.

I cannot download the windows client for some reason. Its saying the download got interrupted in Chrome and in Firefox it says the source is not longer available.
Working ok here, I'll move the server to something more reliable soon and host all downloads natively.

Just want to update that Linux binaries (32bit and 64bit) have been uploaded, as well as a universal Mac / OSX binary.

I want you to take this as a telling off, but I'm hoping you won't take it too personally. That's not what I want. I like to think I'm pretty straight in business; that means I give what I've offered, don't offer anything I'm not prepared to give and don't change the offer after it's agreed. You made a promise back in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=38453.msg477248#msg477248 and that's why I'm disappointed ... not because of the amount of the bounty really. I would have set up to take Solidcoin without any bounty because I believe that the only way Solidcoin or BitCoin (or any other currency) can take off is if MERCHANTS are offering to take it so that the general public see it often enough to trust it. I've followed up on asking a very talented coder who runs http://coinb.in from here in the UK to take a look to consider supporting SC ... You have every right to be upset because it did change. After thinking about what people (not just you) where doing to claim 750 SC of bounty I knew it had to change as it was way too high for the effort put in. People doing the promotion bounties were doing more work in many cases than these vendors. That's just my reason for doing it, doesn't excuse that it changed without warning, so I apologize to you. I have updated :- http://solidcoin.info/market.php with your site and added an adult section. Since you were the first you get top spot. Thanks, it's been added to that.

Why would price matter if the coins you mined were purely for bounties?
I didn't expect the price to be so high this quick, and expected donations of higher amounts. However the donations are drying up as they become worth more. I also had another thing in mind for what those 750 SC vendor bounties were for, and what people are asking for is different than that. I feel 250 SC more fairly represents it, especially given where things are, at the moment. I will change the bounties depending on how I think things are going. The total amount donated and in the bounty wallet will always be for bounties, but the distribution and what they will go towards can and will change. If people have a problem with that then they can decide not to bother getting free coins I suppose.
Vendor bounties have changed now due to the 600% increase in price, also because a lot of the vendor requests I'm getting I don't necessarily think fulfill the 750 SC vision I had planned for these to be used on. 250 SC has been sent and I'm sorry if this change has upset you. I will be posting a link on the bounties/market page for you site soon.

To my understanding speeding up the block-chain production weakens the security level of every transaction. I'll just cut you off there as you are mistaken. Provided the network is balanced, having 3 minute blocks is just as secure as 10 minute blocks. This premise you need to wait "60 minutes" for a valid confirmation is a misnomer. You have to wait a certain number of blocks, and a certain number of minutes to reduce the likelihood of a double spend down to something that is as likely as a meteor hitting you. How many blocks, how many minutes depends on the implementation. 3 blocks and/or 10 minutes is reasonably secure for most businesses in SolidCoin. People may want to do 5 blocks and 15 minutes for a little extra security. The current difficulty of the chain does not equal security, it just increases the COST to attack the network. The bitcoin network can currently be forked for about 15 million US dollars. Deepbit is approaching the power needed to do this and it won't need to spend a cent to do it. So tell me how secure are 10 minute blocks? It completely depends on the network balance. On the other hand we are seeing many benefits from having a high block rate, people love the ease of banking on the SolidCoin network because it's fast and reliable with small variance. So to sum it up for those who don't care to read it all. SolidCoin is just as secure as Bitcoin (and soon will be more secure due to development environment improvements, ie reduce chances of mybitcoin.com happening again), yet it's also faster and more stable.
EDIT: Honestly how do you prevent a double spend attack in your system?
How does Bitcoin? The only way is to try and balance the network. Difficulty is irrelevant as to whether the network is balanced or not.

Sent, thank you. Thanks! Got it! BTW, I had a similar problem with the ports, and even though I could not see any problems in netstat, putting a new rpcport option in the config file fixed it. Now solidcoind runs and hooks itself to port 7555, although I have a totally different port written in the conf file. So I don't completely understand, but it is a solution. There are two ports to consider, 7555 is the operating port (which is what you use to talk to others on network) opening this on your router/firewall will give you better speeds. 7556 is the default RPC port, which you use do communicate with miners and websites, things like this. For the normal user it's irrelevant. Changing the RPC port might need to be done on some Linux operating systems though.

Could we expect anything less than copying once again? He is free to copy anything (and hopefully credits where it came from too), it's open source we're talking here. However merely copying and not improving isn't going to drive many people to a program I don't feel, especially when the source of the updates (SolidCoin) others are taking is still being updated and improved.

SolidCoin 1.01 has been released! Read bottom of post for what's new Download HereBinaries For Windows, Mac OSX, Linux (32bit and 64bit)Source also available^ this screenshot is of the bounty wallet. 25000 SolidCoins have been given away in bounties so far. A bit over 6000 SC has been donated. What's new v1.01 - August 25, 2011 -Added security checkpoints at block 10000 and 20000 -Fixed bug in "Create New Address" dialog which stopped it being the right size with certain font sizes -Fixed bug in "Send Funds" dialog which didn't start at correct height in some situations -Fixed crash bug when opening options -Fixed startup bug which wouldn't locate already running SolidCoin.exe on Windows -Improved main screen interface flow. Also added a logo button which takes you to SolidCoin website. -SolidCoin RPC/JSON API extensions added which return SolidCoins as integer amounts (like banks operate in) as strings
instead of as "Real". Fixes some issues which can be experienced on PHP and other languages that exist in Bitcoin and other
chains. -Still 100% backwards compatible with the old Bitcoin API, new functions added are just the beginning to help developers.
-These are the new methods which you can query that return both INTEGER and REAL (for human eyes) amounts
"sc_getbalance" "sc_getfee" "sc_getinfo" "sc_getreceivedbyaddress" "sc_gettransaction" "sc_listaccounts" "sc_listtransactions" "sc_listreceivedbyaddress" "sc_listreceivedbyaccount" "sc_move" "sc_sendfrom" "sc_sendtoaddress" "sc_sendmany"
v1.00 - August 21, 2011 (initial release)
This is a graph showing SolidCoin difficulty, hash rate and exchange price. As can be seen, unlike the other chains SolidCoin's protocol is designed to encourage network reliability. A steady increase in price also shows the market is diversified enough that a mere few people cannot manipulate it. Also of note is the current hoarding of SolidCoin's. Only 10% of the available SolidCoins are available to purchase.

Nice work, I like the profitability display you have for the various chains.

I understand ... I'll keep the popup alive long enough to copy & paste!

Is there any reason paying with SC is different than the BTC method?
Current block has taken over 11 hours to be mined. And still going... LOL at this rate the next ixcoin difficulty adjustment might not be until Halloween. Yep, it's what happens when you just change almost nothing in the protocol and try to make a quick buck over others. However watching what happened to IXcoin also gave me more ideas about protecting the bitcoin protocol from attacks so from that technical point of view I think this chain was somewhat a success.
Yeah that will qualify, however I find it very difficult to be able to get the SolidCoin address to send to? Requiring people to write down on paper the address seems a bit difficult? If you could improve it so it's more easily accessible the SC will be yours!
