I'm not sure why people should help a guy that stole bitcoins from honest guys..  Roll Eyes

I'm going out on a limb here to state context - he's probably broke and now in jail and/or paying restitution fees.  He probably no longer had the nickels to rub together to pay the guy back - I wish he would come forward and admit this and offer to make payment arrangements in 2 years when he's to be released.  I mean 35 BTC is no small matter either, but cut the guy a break.

I bet he wasn't thinking about us, or the future of Bitcoin when he was rubbing all those millions. When i mention bitcoin, do you know what peoples first impressions are? I'll tell you, it's drug. His and many others are the reasons why we have posts such as https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1008266.0 circulating to online consumers and further staining the reputation, which everyone has worked hard to keep clean.
665  Other / Off-topic / Tutorial: How to hack Bitcoin addresses on the blockchain ~ Complete version (fictional) on: March 31, 2015, 06:55:01 PM
The truth is Bitcoin could be hacked!

There are 1,461,501,637,330,902,918,203,684,832,716,283,019,655,932,542,976 (Quattuordecillion) +- possible key pairs.

How it works

Method 1

STEP 1:
You cover all eight planets in our solar system with storage devices which can store yottabytes of data.

STEP 2:
You find another eight planets in other solar systems and cover them with billions of supercomputers

STEP 3:
You generate every bitcoin key pair then store each of them in the storage devices, on the surface of those planets.

STEP 4:
You use the supercomputers and loop through the data

STEP 5:
Collect your reward

Estimated time of complition for one key: 256^256* years

Method 2

STEP 1:
Visit http://directory.io (thanks to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=105076)

STEP 2:
Flick through each page until you find your key pair

STEP 3:
Collect your reward

Estimated time of complition for one key: Dude I can't even tell you that. Maybe you should try it?

I really cannot persuade myself to donate to a guy who helped dimmer Bitcoins image, by participating in illegal activities.

Maybe someone could state otherwise?

669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could the Federal Reserve Issue Their Own Cryptocurrency? on: March 31, 2015, 01:39:17 PM
Anyone could offer their own version of a cryptocurrency.

But who would use it? In most cases it'll help promote bitcoin and decentralisation further, since any FED coin is likely to be centralised.

Thanks for the reassurances, I just couldn't understand what all the hype was about, or what it could fundamentally offer me, that Bitcoin hasn't already accomplished in some way.
672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What is the future of bitcoin after ethereum on: March 31, 2015, 10:07:43 AM
I'm not sure what to think about ethereum, but what is likely to happend to bitcoin after its released? Will people switch to ethereum? Will demand for bitcoins drop? Or could they possibly co-exist? I'm really not sure what to think or expect.

The world would be better, if the US dollar (dropped in value?)

You are asking a question or are you declaring? And why would be better? Can you wright on what basis are you getting your conclusion?

Or is its just a statement to provoke a new discussion?

Sorry for complicating everything. This is an opinion which has been raised to me several times. However, as a question, I would like to get a clear insight on the reasons, why the world could be better off if the dollar dramatically dipped in value.

Any of the forum members here who have 1000+ Satoshi with them right now,

Two questions to you?

1. How did you get it?

2. How does it make you feel?

Thanks  NyeFe

I have a better idea, mind blowing in fact.

Now hear me out. Lose the private key, and you can keep the money forever, at least visually  Roll Eyes
679  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Digital token or cryptocurrency only between DAOs or Smart Contracts on: March 29, 2015, 10:24:20 AM
If your users use iPhones, you could utilise apples touch id for authentication... Alternatively you would require hardwares such as http://www.fulcrumbiometrics.com/Futronic-FS28-BlueTooth-Fingerprint-Scanner-p/101127.htm for every other unsupported device.

Price iphone 6: $199
Biometric reader: $320.00

If your users could afford this, i doubt they would require a loan. Unless they weren't planning on paying it back.
