6601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When can we claim our free bitcoin gold? on: November 01, 2017, 11:14:25 PM
Has replay attack been added to Bitcoin Gold?

According to their site they have added replay protection but there is
some confusion here on BCT as to why they would need it, I'm a bit
confused now so I am hesitant to claim my gold at them moment.

Here is a snippet from their blog and the link to the full page >

Bitcoin Gold Daily Update – Replay Protection fully implemented

Nov 1, 2017 | Development

In order to ensure the safety of the Bitcoin ecosystem, Bitcoin Gold
has implemented full replay protection, an essential feature that
protects users’ coins from being spent unintentionally. Bitcoin Gold
has just implemented a solution called SIGHASH_FORK_ID replay...

6602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: November 01, 2017, 04:11:43 PM
i am a supporter of SIA and will be looking to become
a host in the near future.

I am also dissapointed on the face of its value to BTC
but as Hakkane states its what is going on in the background
that counts and judging from the roadmap there are still
works and plans in place so I AM NOT selling out.

I really think this has a good future its just taking longer
than most people perceived or maybe that quick get rich
factor didnt materialise as so often is wanted.

anyway I liked the technology from the start, it can only
get better as more updates and additions are added.
6603  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Rookie question on: November 01, 2017, 02:48:57 PM
So I have decided to invest in about 5 alt coins long term and do some day trading as well.
My question is this:
If I day trade, on which exchange can I hold currency rather than coins when I close my position>
Say I make 2% on btc and want to sell and hold usd until I buy again.
I do not want to hold my funds in an alt coin on a wallet as I do not want to think about it loosing value.
Thanks Wink

You can very well use Bittrex for that. Bittrex has USDT(which is called as Tether) and is most similar to USD rates.
Bittrex has a vast variety of coins in which you can invest and then trade the coins. The USDT pair has coins like BTC, ETH, NEO, OMG etc.. from which you can trade directly for USDT. The minimum amount to trade is just 0.0005 btc which should be sufficient for anybody to get started. Be sure to verify your account on Bittrex before you deposit any amount since there are withdrawal limits for basic accounts.

yes Bittrex came to mind when I read the OP
you can trade from and to USDT but not from
all altcoins. Currently you can trade Bitcoin,
NEO, BCH, Ethereum, Litecoin, OMG, Ripple,
Zcash, Monero and Dash. Here is the link >

https://bittrex.com/home/markets

You could also setup an account with coinbase
and use their exchange GDAX and trade, Bitcoin,
Ethereum and Litecoin into Euro, Sterling and Dollar.
6604  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: long term invest in bitcoin on: November 01, 2017, 11:21:46 AM
Hello everyone
I have around 2400$ and I have the idea to invest them by buying bitcoin. I plane for a long term investment (few months to year). Best time to buy BTC and best strategy (I heard  about a hard fork will happen soon) ? Other ideas to invest this amount of money for the indicated period of time ?
Thank you

this is a tricky one tbh, Bitcoin is on a little run at the moment and up over $6500
so buying at such a high is not preferable but if it goes much higher and corrects itself
after the fork at a value still higher than that current price you will have missed out.

i have said before if you are holding for long term, buy now
if you are really holding out to get the best buy in value wait
and hope there is a big correction after the fork.
6605  Economy / Economics / Re: Yes or No? Doesn't Bitcoin unfairly benefit early adopters? on: November 01, 2017, 09:00:01 AM
I sense an air of begrudging from the OP with the use
of the word 'unfairly'. There is nothing unfair about
The early adopters possibly having hundreds or thousands
Of bitcoins, they took the chance and were willing to buy
Into it. I had the chance back in 2010, 2011 but didnt act.

So what would be fair in relation to the op's question?
6606  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: btc target on: November 01, 2017, 07:45:23 AM
btc november target is comming soon look at btc is boom Grin Grin
i think after 3rd fork the price of bitcoin will be 8k$ to 10k$ im going to convert all my altcoins to btc before hard fork so i can buy at the dip of all altcoins.

This is the plans and actions of a lot of people at the moment imo.
the target is to avail of free coins with the upcoming fork and.
some altcoins are gonna suffer. I have done it myself but not with.
all my altcoins.
6607  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin back above $6k on: October 31, 2017, 05:58:04 PM
Could pump again when the masses begin the dump their BTG if they pump that money to increase their bitcoin holdings.

agree, there could be a little pump ahead and prior to the next 2X fork
we all want those free coins and the more you have the more you get.
next question is will there be a correction after the fork? probably.

as it stands today, 10K is looking possible soon.
6608  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Bitpetite tumbler on: October 31, 2017, 04:58:00 PM

6609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin + Charlie Lee and Google Singapore on: October 31, 2017, 01:00:47 PM
hmmmm interesting for sure.
Im sure there will be more to follow if and when Charlie
decides its the right time to do so.

I think the best source of news for Litecoin is Charlie Lee
as he is mister Litecoin!!
6610  Economy / Economics / Re: Indonesian Ban on: October 31, 2017, 11:42:06 AM
I just saw this news thread now but the report mentions
that the initial announcement was made back in 2014
so i take it the central bank there is re-issuing its warning.

Maybe Bitcoin is actually getting more popular there?

Anyway as with the China ICO and Bitcoin ban it will not
have a negative effect long term.

6614  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Bitpetite tumbler on: October 28, 2017, 10:25:03 PM
A lot of people don’t understand this but you are not actually making 4.5% profit daily on your investment. Over the term of 6 weeks for example you get a 147% return. That includes the initial capital. Unlike Bitconnect, BitPetite does not hold your capital. It is returned daily. Your actual profit is 47% in 6 weeks or 42 Days. That is 1.12 percent profit a day with a 3.38 percent daily capital release. This is sustainable and provides a more confident model than Bitconnect.

This is correct, i wabted to say this in my earlier post
but i couldnt work it out to back up what i wanted to say.

This is a low and sustainable model imo although the
Advertisement of 147% return sounds way over the top
on initial inspection.
6615  Economy / Economics / Re: Whats the ranking of bitcoin in terms of currency on: October 28, 2017, 10:22:25 AM
I assume your question is made in comparison to
all other FIAT currencies in the world?

I think its difficult to compare really, there are so
Many variables which can be compared but as
people  on this thread is based solely on its single
Value of over $5500.

6616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What’s everyone’s opinion on Ripple (XRP)? on: October 28, 2017, 09:44:56 AM
I too used to have a nice little stash of Ripple
but sold it all at a profit thinking it was going
to crash and burn because of a number of threads
here about its negative aspects....but its still trading!

Dare i say it but i might actually consider getting some again  Shocked.
It actually seems to be a steady performer now.
6617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ico 2017 on: October 27, 2017, 08:05:47 AM
well you are going to get a hundred different suggestions.

6618  Economy / Economics / Re: Is China making a U-Turn with Huobi? on: October 27, 2017, 08:00:37 AM
yes all this would be great news for sure,
but unless you can provide evidence or links it is just hearsay and speculation.

I just did a quick google search and cannot see anything about this?
6619  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poll: What Exchange Platform Do You Use? on: October 26, 2017, 06:56:51 PM
Bittrex is by far the most reputable.
Poloniex used to be there but this year there has been
some "suspicious" activity reported by some users and
a lot of people migrated to Bittrex and elsewhere.

I use Bittrex and GDAX also and to a lesser extent Poloniex.
6620  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will Blow, See you in BTC 1 = $400 on: October 26, 2017, 10:03:37 AM
i like these threads that get forgotten about for a month or two
and are dragged back up kicking and screaming to prove that
they were nothing but crap!

you really have to take this type of "advice" with a pinch of salt!

anyway the OP and his followers will have to wait a long time for
their prediction to materalise.  Grin
