6621  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S1 Setup on: February 19, 2014, 08:05:43 AM
Whats the refund policy for a unit which has malfunctioned day two? Does Sushi honour or do we go to Antminer? Had 3 Xs most of the day reset Ant as stated on the troubleshooting guide by Dogie and now powers up can get into the miner via browser but no miner status everything else is as it should be just no flashing lights on chip boards all other lights come on no no clicking just ZERO hashes! of deerey deerey me. PM'd Sushi but as others have been waiting with several more miners with hosting issues and not had a response I doubt I will get one. So wondering where to turn to now does Bitmain honour warranties anyone had any experience of this and returns with them?

got two at same time other works fine same settings apart from IP of course.

Thanks

F
You'd get a bitmain warranty, but via Sushi. What you're describing could also be power problems.
6622  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup on: February 19, 2014, 08:04:32 AM
Does it make a difference if I run a cube with less than 6 boards in it? My cube with less blades usually disconnects itself after a few minutes, no matter what PSU I use.

Shouldn't make any difference, your problem is elsewhere.

I cannot get mine to work for the life of me, can someone tell me what is wrong with the setup?

Could be a firewall issue.  I had a similar problem and it turned out my firewall was preventing the cube from connecting.

thanks for responding so quickly, i just disabled Eset to no avail, it still is doing the same thing. Sad

Config is right, but cube is unable to talk to the proxy (hence long pool is off). Try moving where the cube is on the network in relation to the miner.

Suggest you send a unit to a Trustworthy senior member of the community for testing and validation of your product.
Someone like GreaterNinja would be a good choice. I think a lot of people here would agree that he and his team at Ninjatech
have an establised business reputation for reliability, honesty, and technical proficiency within the community.
He could provide feedback to the community.

Soon. when they'll never pay for themselves

When renting, do then ask for permission after (especially if its an upgrade). Worst case they'll force you to put it back, which again takes no time or money.
6627  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: silence before the storm? on: February 18, 2014, 04:19:59 PM
Plenty of other companies are delivering/about to.
yes but those were preorders

just 1-2 weeks ago you could always buy near-instock Ants or Avalons
Go back 3 months ago and you couldn't.
Go back 9 months ago and the ONLY way to buy hardware was from another member.

Consider yourself spoilt that you only have to wait <2 weeks for huge amounts of hash rate.
6628  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: silence before the storm? on: February 18, 2014, 04:06:59 PM
whats up with the miner sales?

Bitmain sold out, next shipping 28th, but old price and not opened orders
Avalon Clones not beeing sold anymore, except by Scammers

only the 5-chip Gridseeds are instock or near delivery now
You're mistaken. Antminers are ONLY sold as in hand hardware, and are made in batches. They are the premier hardware at the moment so demand has been astronomical.
The last batch of Avalon2 chips were sold, so the only clones are the current ones in the pipeline.

Plenty of other companies are delivering/about to.
6629  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Two Phase Open Bath Immersion Cooling Thread on: February 18, 2014, 03:57:59 PM
Some high end defense components use a third concept called spray cooling where a nozzle sprays fluid directly onto the chip.
Just popping in to say that you typically use nozzle sprays where space/weight is an issue. You can significantly reduce the working fluid required.
6630  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: problems reseting Blade v2 IPs on: February 18, 2014, 03:54:29 PM
See my sig for link to the setup thread, and diagrams of the pins (make sure you're doing the right pins for V2s). Also remember to do it while they're running, those are the two most common mistakes.

If you still have no luck, post in the thread and we will sort you out.

From my experience getting people setup with all manner of equipment, 8 pin ATX = roughly 8 pin PCI-E from any reputable brand. With unbranded stuff its a lottery what you get anyway, but something like Corsair would work fine.

er imho you should sell the unit for less  $$$ and include the option of getting it w/o the power supply (if you are compatible with standard supplies)
for shipping it also would help costs...knc did not ship power supplies w/units they said because it was an issue in some countries...ie they opened up the unit
and looked ? not sure why ...anyway it is on the KNC FAQ someplace

anyway could get your unit down in price and make it more competive imho a lot of us have no problems getting even a high end unit like
a corsair 1200i with enough notice of what is needed

anyway make it an option it will make your units more attractive in price and less hassle for you imho

Searing

Thanks for your suggestions.

At the minute we have all four units designed to fit into neat looking cases, if we went down a route of an optional power supply would people be happy with the power leads trailing out of the back (Similar to the KNC)?

We have about 10 days until we need to commit to our final case designs
Answer my email and I can help you with all these issues.

Yeah WTF guys, no pictures, no details, broken english, no escrow..... There are ALWAYS senior members online if you need 'emergency' escrow even for quick details. I'm around extended GMT, protect yourselves.
6637  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S1 Setup on: February 18, 2014, 10:22:33 AM
hi guys

i ve tried to set it up:

the machine is rebooting and after worker config

(i m not sure how to write the pools adress ,need to write the startum+tcp or not?

i don t see anything appearing in miner status and the machine is keeping on reboot every 2/3 min

solution guys??

Noone is having the same issue?
Sorry, we missed that. Pool IPs should be written like: stratum+tcp://eu-stratum.btcguild.com:3333. It will continue to reboot if pools are wrong.
6638  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Manufacturer Trustworthiness Guide on: February 18, 2014, 10:19:57 AM
IMO any company that took money for products they reasonably should have known would not be delivered in time to be profitable, while at the same time lying about their ability to deliver should be labeled as scams. That includes HF and BFL.
Profitability isn't debateable as a scam, in the same way a $2000 handbag is knowingly sold that its not worth $2000. If you have evidence to suggest HF delayed deliberately or made misleading statements that were foiled on purpose and NOT by mistakes, then they can be reviewed.

BFL may go down in the next cycle.
6639  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup on: February 18, 2014, 10:17:59 AM
Hi, i have a be quiet system power PSU 700w connected to a 49 ports usb hub and im wondering if i can use it to feed a cube with the usb hub connected at the same time  Huh
Do you think its possible?

Specs of the PSU :

Depends on the power consumption of the hub. You'd have to use a PCI-E pin connector from TWO separate rails to power the cube.
6640  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup on: February 18, 2014, 10:16:47 AM
I'm curious. My BE Cube is running at 37200 on high.  Can I make that higher? I see some numbers running around 420, can all run that at the same time?
~38 is the official high clock speed hash rate, you can only hit 40 with cooling mods. The difference in hash rate probably doesn't even pay for your time though.
