This question is for you @zasad@ :
What methodology did you use when selecting sources for your interviews?
I use an axiomatic-deductive methodology based on methods of deduction and induction, as well as an inductivist methodology based on methods of analysis and synthesis.
If these methods do not give results, then I apply extrapolation methods and the basics of probabilistic methodology. Grin Grin

Author, please add a link to the project

1 moment, the word "DEFI" in this project is more advertising than practical.
The main goal of the project is medicine.

I have seen similar projects but they have failed, for example   https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2577450

I will tell you that I would not invest here, it is very risky. Such a project requires tremendous efforts, funds and professionals. I would just wait for the start of trading on the exchange, perhaps you will buy tokens even cheaper than on IEO

6765  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is DeFi benefiting Bitcoin? on: October 17, 2020, 08:58:20 PM
DeFi is a tiny drop in the ocean compared to Bitcoin. And I don't care what is DeFi's marketcap, it's just a bubble and vaporware, it will disappear just like ICO did, while Bitcoin is here to stay. If Bitcoin didn't have bull runs, there would be no DeFi and altcoins, because no one would care about cryptocurrency. Altcoins and tokens only trade at current level because investors hope that they can repeat Bitcoin's movement, so it's not a coincidence that alts rise when Bitcoin goes up.

If you believe that DeFi or anything else from alt sphere can influence Bitcoin, you just have no idea about crypto.
The defi ecosystem greatly expands the capabilities of bitcoin. A smart contract cannot be hacked, it does not obey the decisions of the courts, the SEC and other governmental and non-governmental organizations.
I don't understand what you think that DEFI is a bubble and a vaporware?
The future belongs to large cross-chain platforms like Polkadot and ecosystems like Ethereum.
You may simply not invest in scam projects that promise 1-10% profit per day.

They did it, as they thought btc was illegal and ruble was the only currency they could trust back then so any issuer who could issue (mine) another 'currency' or 'cryptocurrency' was illegal and was ought to get penalized under strict laws.

This is a 2017 article. There was such a draft law in Russia, but it was not adopted. There are a lot of idiotic draft laws in Russia, but mining is not prohibited now, I will even leave you a link to a video where an individual pays taxes on mining.

1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?

The first time I heard about cryptocurrencies was in 2013, but then I did not attach any importance to this information.
Business was going well and I was not interested in bitcoin.

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?

The first bitcoin I bought cost about $ 350 in 2015, but at that time I did not understand anything about cryptocurrency.
In 2015, business profits began to fall, and one friend reminded me of cryptocurrencies.
He gave me the address of the Polonex and Bitrex exchanges and told me to learn to trade. This is how my acquaintance with cryptocurrencies began.
It was a great time, there was no control, no "know your client" procedures ..

3. How did you get on the forum?
The Internet. I tried to read more and write less, so I was not an activist and a fan of forums.

4.1. What prevents mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?
Human stupidity, greed, misunderstanding. Revolutionary ideas always cause a lot of resistance among the ruling class.
But every year we see that this process is gaining momentum.

4.2.Who do you think will win bitcoin or banks?

This is the most interesting point. It is important what people choose: what they want or what states and banks will impose on them.
If we talk about the massive implementation of CBDC, then this is a loss. The government tells us that it is fast, convenient, does not require visits to the bank, but no one says that this simplifies total total control.
All information is available on the blockchain and there is no need to collect statements from different banks.
It's bad that there are few people in the world who think and will understand technology. Most will choose what the state and the central bank will impose on them.
Now in the world of Ethereum and BTC can play the role of large decentralized payment systems. We should support alternative decentralized solutions, and not succumb to the general sentiment that the DEFI ecosystem is a Scam.

4.3. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to successfully invest or does an investor need to receive special education?

I have 5 years of experience working with cryptocurrency, but I started making money after studying investing. A person who possesses knowledge achieves success faster than someone who learns from experience.

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?

I had to earn all my merits myself, the system works perfectly. I think signature campaigns are a great addition to bonuses for useful members.

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?

I will not single out certain participants from the list so as not to offend anyone.
A useful participant is constantly gaining new knowledge and sharing this knowledge with other forum users. A useless person posts for an award in signature campaigns.
The most useful topics are here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats=toptopicsat

7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?

Some local forum boards are needed to add new subsections. This needs to be discussed with every local boards.

At least once a year, make a new interesting competition like this
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5193860

Introduce a new title for developers and project representatives. For example, "Developer" is like a "Copper member".

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?

I am constantly investing in various projects. Most of the savings in coins are bitcoin and ethereum, and the rest of the investments are tokens that can be bought on uniswap. I plan to completely stop trading on centralized exchanges

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?

It's a big loss that I didn't come to this forum in 2009.
Most of my losses were caused by my lack of experience in trading. I bought bitcoin for $ 350 and Ethereum for $ 1.5, but I didn't have enough experience to keep these coins in my portfolio. I made money, and if I had built my trading strategy correctly, I could have made 10 or 100 times more.
In 2017, I received a huge profit, at the end of 2018, I realized for myself what it means to lose 99% of the Deposit when investing in shitcoins.

10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?

If you are interested in my opinion, read my latest topics and posts, most of them about DEFI.
And the very first topic on the forum was written by me.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5198245

This is the most promising direction among cryptocurrencies, just don't confuse fundamental ecosystem projects with yield farming

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?

"Money loves silence" is a well-known Russian proverb. The utmost care must be taken in everything related to money.

12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?

"Digital Gold: Bitcoin and the Inside Story of the Misfits and Millionaires Trying to Reinvent Money"
by Nathaniel Popper

How To DeFi
https://landing.coingecko.com/how-to-defi/

13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years?

BTC, ETH, BEAM

14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2020?

14000-14500$

15. P.S. (Optional)

In fact, this does not refute anything Smiley

It already did.

Hedge funds constantly monitor the market, diversify portfolios and have many opportunities that are not available to the average investor.
Any financial investment is associated with risk, and all risks are written in the investment agreement.
And if large hedge funds invest in DEFI projects, this tells us that DEFI projects meet high standards.

How do you explain Lehmann's* bakruptcy? According to your logic, the impossible has happened.

*You can replace Lehmann with any other big company that went down. It was just an example to show you how ridiculous your logic is.
My experience taught me 1 important rule: "The logic in the cryptocurrency markets works very poorly"

Even if you consider your logic, many banks in the world have gone bankrupt, but people continue to increase the volume of deposits in banks. Where is the logic here?

I have already said the most important plus of the DEFI ecosystem: you can trade Bitcoin in a decentralized manner. Other services like atomic swaps won't give you that much liquidity.
6771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia blocks localbitcoins on: October 16, 2020, 07:54:30 AM
Russia being one among the supportive country for cryptocurrency have stated bitcoin usage as payment is illegal while people are free to buy and sell which is the reason for the increased trading on Russia through localbitcoins than other countries.
I cannot understand what they are trying to accomplish, they are free to trade but then they blocked one of the biggest P2P exchanges that is active in Russia, some things are not adding up but whatever be the situation blocking a site will not mean anything as people are smart enough to overcome those restrictions with ease.
If you're interested, the answer is simple - for reporting. Officials do not care about the result of their actions and what will happen after, the main thing is to execute the plan and write a report describing the work done. If they don't, they will be fired or their bonuses will be forfeited. Everything works according to this principle in Russia.Look at the exchange limits
https://www.bestchange.ru/bitcoin-to-ruble-cash.html
from a few hundred thousand dollars to several million in availability. Moscow has the largest shadow market for the sale of cryptocurrencies, and it will work regardless of the laws in the country.
6772  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi & NFT tokens project on: October 15, 2020, 08:59:16 PM
I will add 1 more project to the collection

https://docs.dego.finance/

This project is powered by Binance Smart Chain.

https://opensea.io/assets/gego-dego

However, in DEGO, things would be different.
"DEGO adopts a modular design. Modularity refers to the combination of various elements of the product to form a subsystem with specific functions. We combine these subsystem as a universal module with other modules to create a new system with multiple functions and performance.
In short, each product can be regarded as a module. After a combination of different modules, a new product comes out, thereby achieving the effect of 1+1>2. LEGO bricks are the best example and inspiration for those modules. Every brick is plain and ordinary, but it generates endless possibilities when put together.
DEGO equals to LEGO in the DeFi world. With each DeFi protocol as a brick, like Stable Coin (DAI), Lending (Aave, Compound), DEX (Uniswap and Balancer), Derivatives (Synthetix), Insurance (Nexus Mutual), we will build a new dApp to enhance the value of DeFi, creating diversified investment portfolios and generating substantial financial returns for users. DEGO will become the entrance to the future of financial services."
6773  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia blocks localbitcoins on: October 15, 2020, 08:44:51 PM
I love reading about Russia, especially that it is a communist country Grin Grin

Roskomnadzor has blocked bitcointalk.org for a long time, but as you can see, the Russian local board is the largest on this forum. Grin
Bestchange has been working through the mirror for a long time.
Localbitcoins resembles a centralized exchange with "know your customer" procedures. There is now a lot of fraud with other people's accounts, it is safer to change through Bestchange.

You also remember how Roskomnadzor blocked Telegram. The whole country laughed at this circus. They blocked the servers that hosted the services of Russian companies for transmitting reports to the tax authorities, and paralyzed their work, but telegram continued to work. Smiley

Why this happens - because every judge who does not understand blockchain technologies can decide to block a site. And in Russia, bitcoin is not banned and until the end of 2020 there is not a single current law on cryptocurrency.

What do you think, will companies that manage capital from $ 0.5 billion to invest in DeFi scam or yield-farming Grin Grin

That doesn't prove anything actually.

So many big hedge funds went down to zero before. Just because they are big know doesn't mean they'll be big in the future or they always take the right steps.

They could go bankrupt by choosing the wrong investment.

Happened before many times.

Ucy thanks, I misspelled.

LittleHamster Do you know where yield farming came from? This is an interesting and clever decision to distribute project tokens without violating the SEC standards.

It started with the Compound project. Only later did scammers start using yield farming to create scam projects.

yield farming is a very small part of the DEFI ecosystem, which is already losing its relevance.
So why do people mean yield farming, and DEFI projects are called a scam?

Latest figures suggest near $2 billions in  BTC are locked by DeFi smart contracts.  At least those BTC are not in the hand of bots that move the price up and down and have less impact on the market.  But the dark side of it they may end up in the wallets of scammers, DeFi is known to be full  of them. IMO,  one needs carefully select project before locking  BTC.

I generally don't recommend blocking your bitcoins to get wrapped coins.
All serious projects require completion of the "know your client" procedure. Then it's easier to trade on the exchange Smiley
If you want wrapped bitcoins, they can be bought on uniswap and easily sold there.

Read about 2 projects, these are serious companies that store clients' bitcoins.

I have heard a lot about 1inch.exchange but so far have never gotten around to use the exchange. Did you ever use their swap feature? If yes, then is it true that we can lower the transaction cost if we use their token CHI?
https://www.ethgasstation.info
Now, and so inexpensive commissions on the Ethereum network.
You can benefit from using CHI token if you purchase it when fees are cheap and use when fees are expensive.

1inch is a project that finds excellent solutions for a large exchange, it uses various decentralized services and allows you to profitably make an exchange in 1 transaction. If you change small volumes (several thousand dollars or less), then it is more profitable to change on Uniswap.

"Bitcoin is benefiting Defi" makes sense to me from all the valuable comments you have made. I have also read that the Defi are continuing the work that gave rise to Bitcoin.
Let's take a look at how WBTC works and how it is providing greater liquidity in the ethereum ecosystem, decentralized exchanges and dapps.

Although I am excited about the DeFi revolution, I maintain the conviction that without Bitcoin they cannot coexist because they need to be capitalized.
WBTC is not the only Wrapped service

I see that Bitcoin is becoming a new global asset for accumulation, that is, it turns into digital gold.
Lightning Network, Omni Layer, Liquid Network are not very popular with the community. The only opportunity for trade and decentralized exchange is provided to us by the DeFi ecosystem

Interesting what's gonna be happening in the next 5years? The rise of DeFi definitely give interest to some noncrypto users to take a look at crypto market. So for me, even if DeFi is considered to be the current hype, still it provides some positive effect on bitcoin. But hopefully, those investors will be smarter than what we had in ICO days. They should know better and spot fake DeFi projects.
