im getting 16 asics showing up on chain 1 what does that mean?  also it made a beeping noise a few times first the began to hash?? ive overclocked it also and its hitting 203 so whats the issue??

temp is 47 and 48

It should be 32 which may suggest you've overclocked to far?

The beeping just indicates its not actively hashing while the internet connects.

What is the fan noise when compared to a AM Cube. I know Dogie has had both. I have a couple on the way. I was thinking of replacing the stock fans with these.
http://www.quietpc.com/cl-swif2-12p

They are rated at 75cpm, but I plan on using two. These fans are very quiet and I have used them to tone down a Norco server.  They will be going in a spare bedroom, that is used occasionally . So I want to keed the noise to a minimum.

The cube is consistent and is like a quiet desktop pc. You could have 50 in your room and not really care. The Antminers are the same, IF you can keep it on its low rpm setting. As I have a single blade the aerodynamics aren't as good and so I use 2x120mm fans blowing directly on the heatsink to keep it cool and quiet.

Neither my antminer or cube is audible over my Avalon running at min rpm though.

The purpose of the image proxy is to protect people from each other (eg, IP-tracking images), not from themselves. The latter has never been the forum's job.

Yeah that makes sense. Exif filtering is an extra load.

So psa, filter exif yourself or make sure to use imgur which does it.
Is that what 'gps location info' on most phone cameras refers to?
6765  Other / Meta / Re: End of newbie restrictions; ban changes on: January 21, 2014, 02:12:08 AM
Anyone got a copy of the previous activity level requirements so we can see the change?
6766  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S1 Setup on: January 19, 2014, 08:50:56 PM
So if it's running cgminer, that means I guess that it has Linux underpinnings? Do you know if they are running ssh or anything like that, or if the cgminer settings can be tweaked?
Its the same software setup that Avlaon used. It is using cgminer, but on the public firmware you don't get access to any of the variables.
6767  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S1 Setup on: January 19, 2014, 08:50:17 PM
Also, does each blade have an ethernet port, or the chassis itself?

Each chassis needs an ethernet port
6768  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Blade Setup on: January 19, 2014, 04:09:24 PM
Yep, so I'm afraid your hardware is at fault. With V1 blades you could just replace the logic board, but I guess you'll have to RMA the whole board through friedcat if it still works.

He will likely replace it with a V2 as V1s haven't been made in months.
6769  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Anyone know ways to build own ASIC hardware?? on: January 17, 2014, 05:12:29 AM
We always had our electronics outsourced to a company that specialized in chip making, just sent them the designs and they do the rest for a few dollars per board... but it's in bulk.

If you are interested in making your own as a hobby, there are a few sources that will show you how to make them.

time to make some homemade microchips!

You are living in a dream world mate. 28nm chip design and fabrication costs a lot. Make your own as a hobby? Please do it and report how you get on Smiley

Hes not talking about 28nm asics lol.

Its worth remembering that as its GPU based, this stuff has residual value after mining income, where as most stuff -> 0.

Nearly 3x the price of an antminer :/ and mote power

I never understood that for a company who couldn't ship 1 product in 2 years, they'd already got the mugs sorted.
6775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: rumaTech Miners on: January 16, 2014, 03:30:07 AM
Why is the double miner more expensive than two miners?
6776  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Butterfly Labs Mini Rig 500GHs on: January 13, 2014, 07:48:49 PM
Nope. I'm waiting to see if they get here... will post back with the outcome.
Thanks
Put it in dispute so it will hold the funds. Otherwise he will withdraw funds and you'll have to fight to get paypal to cover it. And being bitcoin related, they'll probably say f off.
6777  Other / Archival / Re: CRYPTOWARE LTD Introduction Thread on: January 13, 2014, 05:04:38 AM
Just wondering why you would spend £5000 on 2 ANTMiners when you would have saved nearly £2000 buying them directly from sushi or one of the official resellers?

Price is due to be lowered. We have been very busy with the launch! The first units we ordered from BITMAIN cost us 4.25 BTC each, when BTC was over $1000
The problem is all you are is a reseller. There is nothing we can't just get cheaper directly from manufacturers.
6778  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S1 Setup on: January 13, 2014, 05:00:52 AM
Am I correct thinking I don't need to run a damn Stratum proxy with these?
Correct. They run using similar logic as what Avalon came up with.
6779  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How much further performance are asics capable of producing? on: January 13, 2014, 02:03:29 AM
The CPU's for example are gone multicore (of which seemingly will make little difference to SHA256 mining) - what other devices use ASIC's where there is a lot of money involved?

Sha256 chips are extremely multicore, thats how you make 'fast' chips. Extremely parallel.
6780  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Introcudtion to DualMiner USB (could mine both BTC and LTC) on: January 13, 2014, 01:15:05 AM
So in a crypto-world where a Scrypt ASIC would make a lot of money if developed, why the hell would you release a dual miner and not just a single Scrypt version?
Because the price isn't efficient enough, it needs to be a novelty.
