Why am I not getting any accepted shares? I have 2KH/s on the CPU and 10KH/s on the GPU and so far 0 accepted after an hour.
Are you mining on p2pool? Your hashrates are pretty low, you'd be better off on a traditional pool if so. If you are on a traditional pool, did you recently start mining? Vardiff will start too high for your hashrates, and will take some time to reduce difficulty enough for you to get accepted shares - you'll just have to wait it out. Yeah my hashrate is low because my system sucks. Its actually notably lower than mining LTC or DOGE though But my problem is resolved. For some reason my dogewallet trying to sync prevented it. I closed it and soon started getting shares relatively frequently Also my GPU is up to a more reasonable 22 KH now 1) Download modified cgminer scrypt if you are using a gpu with windows: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ksgtrltpah1eqes/Vertcoin-CGMinerAleksNR3.zip 2) Use notepad++ to create a .txt file, then convert extension to .bat file. This is the code I've been using for dual x280's: setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 200 cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://us.bitcrush.info:3444 -u Weblogin.Worker -p Worker password -I 12 -v 1 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8191 This is the code I've been using for dual 6950's: setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://us.bitcrush.info:3444 -u Weblogin.Worker -p Worker password -I 12 -v 1 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 4096 *these are the TC's I found to work the best. Anything higher than 4096 will result in error. Any intensity >12, and your mining shares won't be accepted. 3) Run created .bat file x280 = 275-350 kH/s 6950 = 125-175 kH/s You can probably get more out of your 280x's with this line: setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 COLOR 0A C:\vertminer\cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://vtc.kilovolt.co.uk:3333 -u Username -p Password-w 256 -I 13 -g 2 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-engine 1000 --gpu-powertune -20 --gpu-memclock 1490 --thread-concurrency 8193

What make a new coin "valuable" ? How / Who establish its value vs BTC / LTC ? How can be listed a new coin on sites like Cryptsy, Coinex, Bter then on BTC-E, Crypto-Trade, Bitstamp, etc ? What make people to adopt a new coin ? I mean, look at DOGE. The persons involved in launching new coins shouldn't be worried about the "value" factor ?
I'll try to answer some of your questions What makes a coin valuable is really the perception of the community about it's value along with the various features a coin has to offer. I mean coins with innovative coins like Nxt (Guess we all know that one) or Vertcoin (Asic/GPU resistance) will onviously be seen as coins with a future since they are offering something new to the scene of cryptocurrencies. Establishing it's value vs BTC/LTC is based on numerous factors, some of them are the price the cummunity is willing to pay for the coin. Another factor is the amount of coins in distribution, a coin 10 billion coins in circulation will obviously be worth les as a coin with 10 million coins and the same features. Getting listed on exhanges is about getting votes on their forums and establishing a trade volume, this is because a coin needs to be profitable for an exchange aswell (trade fees). Another factor in getting listen on an exchange is, in some cases i might add, bribing. Some exhanges are willing to take coins on their website in return for a share of the devolopers/community's coins. Adoption of a coin is mainly a community thing, when certain people spread the word about a coin and get more people involved in a coin it'll be an upward trend from that point on. Those new people will also tell their friends/families about the coins and before you know it you've got a flourishing community around your coin However it's also got to do with something i mentioned previously, innovative features. when a coin is launched as 'another clone' it'll be alot harder to find adoption for your coin as when you start up a whole new concept for a coin. Hope this helps , Pow

So, my best advice would be to sell down to 15. I know one whale that was thinking of buying 10-20+btc worth at 17 (that won't pop up until it gets down to 20). A ton of big guys are waiting for 15. I know what you're thinking: "But we only want to sell at a profit" but guess what guys? That's not going to happen, because we're all walking away.
LOL you're one funny guy. This coin is and will be strong. Most here are not looking for a quick dump at 25-30, because we realise the potential. And potential it has. So keep wishing you'll buy at 15 - and you'll regret not buying at 25, 30, 50 and more eventually. This. +1 When we get on Cryptsy, it'll be GG for all you fence sitters. Litterally every post here today untill like 3 hours ago was about how hashcows and other big Pump&Dumpers are ruining your precious coin yet as soon as the sell wall dissapeared at 25 sat everyone suddently thinks Leaf prices are going trough the roof. Well guess what? They're not. Hashcows and those big players still own ALL the coins they had when they started today if not more due to pannic selling on your part and by hyping it up now after the sell wall dissapeared your just playing in their hands. Well anyway, guess you've all been warned enough.

So everyone here has already forgotten the big premine/instamine that happend at the launch of this coin wich gives the dev. and some of him buddies an insane advantage over anyone who didn't manage to connect during the first 30-60 min?
Shame you're all wasting energy/hashing power on a stupid scam coin like this.
If you think that you should not involved to coins, all coins some premined, bitcin, litecoin, doge, etc.. all of coins Wow, what a well-written counter argument. If you really believe anything you just wrote your just ignorant or you're one of the few people that actually managed to get some of the first 4000 blocks, blocks wich weren't available to the general public. I suggest you read the first 10 pages of this thread and then come back and see if it changed your mind about this coin. And by the way, neither Bitcoin nor Litecoin was premined, sure there were people who got involved earlier than other but they were available to everyone.

Be carefull with buying guys, someone's trying to manipulate the market here. As soon as some ppl start buying up to 35/40 satoshi they'll just dump their coins on you while making big profits.
+1 that's the first mistake a newbie does. already been there. but i think it will rise more than that! It might, but probably not yet since the big pools were mining today. They're just got everyone hyped at 25 sat, then raised the bar to 50 sat. Everyone now thinks 25 satoshi is really cheap and will probably be buying to much higher values till the point where they'll just dump all of their coins at once on you. And by the way, those guys are also the owners of a big part of the buy walls, this is to give people an even more safer feeling while buying up to higher values. They'll just delete those buy orders as soon as they start dumping/ Don't get me wrong, buying at this price might be a really good choice if you're in for the long run but you might just have to wait a really long time to get those profits while seeing your capital sink close to zero in the meantime. Just trying to keep you guys from making bad decisions/panic selling.
