CoinAd is redirecting to MineField

CoinAd should be back by the end of this week. I don't have much free time to do stuff.

So we may find this way few new sites before CoinAd is back  Grin

683  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: LTC Solo Mining on: October 18, 2012, 11:40:45 AM

The LiteCoin client itself makes you able to solo (cpu?)mine.  Click the "Mining" tab, and you'll see.......

So does bitcoin right? However you will never solve a block yourself. I would assume this is the same with litecoin, depending on how much hash power is currently going into mining them. Doubt that they are that new that you will solve blocks on your own through the client, but I may be incorrect.

You are incorrect. If you have good connectivity, not much difference.

The mining tab is very slow, you have to run standalone app for this job. For CPU mining you may try

If I can solo mine and get 1 LTC in a week or so that is cool, I think.

If you solo mine, you can only get 50 LTC (+transaction fees) if you find the block, at your expected rate it would take in average one year. It means you can wait many months (or few years if your unlucky  Grin) for the 50 LTC

If you join a pool you will get periodic small payments.

To get some free LTC try this faucet

Uh... I'm not exactly sure what happened here. It seems I found a key, but there was a db error or something.

http://pastebin.com/K4zZvXz6

I checked that private key and it wasn't 1room77. What the hell happened?

You answered to yourselves - the private key does not map to 1room77 address pattern => error with GPU computing, it happens from time to time. If you dont have big Rejected ratio when you mine bitcoins at a pool, you dont need to worry

Does anyone here know of a place where I can find out if I should try to solo mine for LTC while I'm waiting for my BFL setup?

Please be more specific what you want

here is guide how to setup 5xxx, 6xxx, and 7xxx GPUs to mine litecoins

I've tried registering an account but don't get any confirmation email.

@Portnoy

Check your spam folder.

I did not received the email as well (not in spam eighter), so I contacted the support asking if they could add "resend confirmation email" button, they told this feature will be added soon. They were kind and sent me the confirmation code manually

688  Other / Archival / Re: Another Free BTC site on: October 16, 2012, 11:30:10 AM
In free faucet sites, its one of the most generous (you have chance to get 0.01). Better yet, it does not cost you much time because you have only 3 attemts daily so because it is mostly empty you can check once a day only, or wait when Ori annouces he added some coins to the faucet.

I got once 0.01 two weeks ago, and had one shot at another when Ori annouced he added coins and in faucet was more than 0.01 but not lucky dices this time.

So I dont understand your frustations, would you preffer to get daily 0.00003 as you get on some free faucet sites...
689  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Free Bitcoins Listing on: October 15, 2012, 11:49:44 PM
Coinad is no longer hourly, unless you create an account with them.
The site isn't working properly for those without accounts.
I get this message when I submit the form:
"You already requested free bitcoins in the last hour
Please come back in 2 hours 4 minutes 38 seconds."

I didn't request free bitcoins in the last hour. The last I tried was yesterday and it was giving false messages and not allowing submissions like this then as well.

Yesterday it worked normally for me, maybe you had opened and did not refresh the home page (and tried to submit) because they were very often in maintainance mode?

I have to confirm you will get now these suspicious submit results when you dont have account there, but if you register account, you can submit hourly without problems.

Will be interesting what they have plans for the registered acounts, because now it does not have a purpose
690  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Where do I get free Bitcoins? on: October 15, 2012, 11:42:07 AM
http://cointicket.org - I'm not sure yet if they are paying out, I just find about the site at tagpad.com "Hot" list and got my ticket.

Thank you for the new faucet link. I can confirm they payed my yesterday submit, the amount is 0.0000238

I think after 24hrs there will be some that will give out gifts. Its complicated. I think you need to check
them all every time you do it. A soldier ( aka "statue" aka "guard" ) won't give out another gift until a
certain other one has given one out.

Also sometimes it might be better to not take the small gift of 0.001 or so and the next time you check
that one ( after you've checked all the others ) the gift might be even larger... then again there is a small
chance it might have nothing to give after that.  I was told it is possible to get as much as 5 BTC from
one statue if one has the right strategy. I have got as much as 0.1 BTC from one of them.  Last time
I checked in to that game I got 0.01 BTC twice along with a number of small amounts.

How many of those statues did you find?  26, or are there even more now?

Did not though there can be a strategy for this  Grin

I got only few times 50 bitmills, most of the time it is in range from 0..10 bitmills and the amount match rarity

I though it is simply: accumulate 1 bitmill in statue every hour and set it to empty when someone got it. You can recheck particular soldier 3 days or something after you received gift from it.

Dont know how to experimentally check it is othervise (without inside knowledge of the code).

Anyway, there are 6 soldiers on main land, 18 soldiers on level 1 island (+2 for newbie). I dont know how many are on level 5 island as i dont have such high level

With CPU, you will not mine much bitcoins but for quick reference how much MHash/s your GPU is capable of look at

To calculate profitability, you can use

I'm curious... What people would think about site that allow to visit it and enter the address and stuff every day, but payout accumulated bitcoins once a week? So if site gives 0.001 BTC / day, and you visit it every day from Monday to Sunday, you'll get 0.007 BTC in one transaction at the end of the week.
I'll mean less fees when spending it Smiley

Sure I would love it. But after submit, show when the amount will be paid and total accumulated amount so far.

Or send it with 0.0005 fee  Grin
It will take longer but should work. Look at recent CoinAd transactions (took several hours each)

My experience with big transactions and 0.0005 fee is it takes around 12 hours and the only pool who includes it in the block is EclipseMC

695  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Where do I get free Bitcoins? on: October 13, 2012, 11:10:20 PM
I sent a small amount of BC today via my wallet and was told there was a fee because of the amount.  At what amount is there no longer a mandatory fee, or is that always the case?

Aaron

if you want send without fees you must also have high priority transaction

New site > http://kickme.to/goxkeygen > Gives around 0.00002 BTCs, once per day. It generates MtGox code, which one must redeem on MtGox site.

30 hours after sucessfull submit it displays:

Quote
GOXKEYGEN
IP Error.

I dont see info anywhere how often you can submit for new MTGox code. Hopefully its not one time service  Grin

It's one-time per IP.

Well I tried after 4 days and got another code. Because I have the same IP they clear the list of IPs after some unknown time.
697  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Free Bitcoins Listing on: October 13, 2012, 08:22:50 AM
More often is cool in a way, but overall it's a bit of a pain to have to interrupt what I'm doing all the time to avoid missing my chance to get more. Larger prizes once a day or less is more convenient.

+1

but because Im greedy hamster I visit every site
698  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: www.bitcoins.so ... are they trolling? on: October 12, 2012, 11:07:34 AM
This faucet is empty last week+. Dont feel too bad, if you put the correct answer it would say it is empty or not enought confirmations.

The win amount is 0.01, but the available faucet amount is now 0.007xx (last checked 1/2 hour ago)

netlookup.se has spruced up its look. ( lets see if they will payout within 24 hrs now, like they promise )

And it seems they 'are' paying out as promised.

Is everyone noticing regular payments from them now?
If so I will remove the * from its entry in the OP.

yes, last 3 days I received regular payments from netlookup.se
