10oz .9999 Gold NastyFans Minted Seats - Only 3 were made.

Both of these beasts were the largest made by the mint at the time in these metals and required special tooling.  The blanks were also extreme difficult to source and had to be created special for these projects.

6823  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Home Economics TV show mentions payment in “crypto” on: December 02, 2021, 10:33:37 PM
The TV show Home Economics with more than 2 million viewers of their latest episode mentioned crypto. One brother was trying to pay back another without his consent and mentioned sending him “crypto” after learning what that was. I found this extremely interesting because it was the first time I’ve seen “crypto” mentioned instead of Bitcoin. This is undoubtedly the result of the rise in altcoins and pretty crazy that crypto will likely begin to surpass Bitcoin in mainstream mentions. Once NFTs start hitting mainstream entertainment, things are gonna get wild…

6824  Other / Meta / Re: Proposal: Rename the "Press" board to "Spammer of the Month" board on: December 02, 2021, 09:57:07 PM
Maybe "Allow the bad posters to continue doing bad things" is your default response, but some of us would prefer it if the forum was slightly nicer than a cesspit.

I don't believe that for a second.  Many of the people complaining about news articles being posted are the same idiots who support Vod's spreading of lies, abuse of the trust system, and ultimately trying to extort me for $50,000,000.  If people want to stop people from doing bad things, you can start with cleaning up the trust network which has been overtaken by forum users who don't even trade or interact with others on the blockchain at all but finagled their way in by teaming up as a method of bullying others.  I personally think there is value in lots of news articles being placed there in a uniform format to document Bitcoin's media coverage over the years.  Complaining about it doesn't have value, although we're all getting paid to spam here so enjoy the hypocrite show.  Until I see some of the blowhards in here posting legitimate news articles on a regular basis in a way they deem appropriate, then I think everyone should give up the Karen act and quit criticizing those who do put forth an honest effort.
6825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tommy Fury vs Jake Paul on: December 02, 2021, 09:48:24 PM
I don't think even Tommy's father or half brother is convinced Tommy can do it. This is a massive money earner for Tommy, and to be honest if Tommy wins this its probably the most exposure he'll ever have. I might be wrong in this, I just think Tommy hasn't got his heart set on boxing like Tyson. Tyson seems to live, and breathe boxing, and when hes not training it plays into his mental health issues, whereas Tommy appears on various dating shows, and kind of just uses the boxing as something hes alright at. I think its the name pushing his boxing career rather than his ability.

I don't know if I'd go that far.  They sure seemed like they believed him when they were ranting like lunatics during the press conference.  Everyone keeps saying Tommy is a real fighter, so I'm expecting Jake to get KO'd.  There has been mounting evidence that Jake is on steroids and has been for some time now.  His latest refusal of drug testing seemed to only confirm that.  So to me, it's less about who is the better boxer and more about if skill can beat science.  I think it can and years of boxing training beats a few months of steroid use here and there, but I guess we'll see soon enough.

I never knew these actually got made.  Pretty cool to see although it's a bit ironic that they were selling yubikeys and these things while knowing that 80% of the BTC had been funneled off several years earlier by thieves (or possibly an inside job, what do I know).  I was a bit sad to part with my yubikey last year, but I still have my butterfly labs mug that I paid about 480 BTC for (lol), so I've still got some great scam memorabilia to remember the crypto wild west and the mistakes that kept so many from becoming insanely disgustingly rich.  Smiley
6827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: December 02, 2021, 12:36:31 AM
I guess that I would watch the Nets - Knicks game tonight. It seems to be like a delightful game to me. D. Rose's condition is still doubtful for this game. In case he plays, Knicks can fight back much better against Nets in this game. Otherwise, Nets are the overwhelming team here. With K. Durant and Harden especially, they would tear Knicks apart in my opinion. But we will see if I'm wrong or not.

DRose did play in this game, but Harden and Durant had a terrific game. But still the game is very close, 112-110, I thought that game will go into OT.

Fournier hit a 3 to tie the game, But Johnson was fouled next hit both free throws and Fournier missed a desperation 3.

Now let's watch the Suns vs GSW game.

That game was garbage.  I don't usually say the refs determined the outcome but they literally told Julius Randall that because of his size he doesn't get the same foul calls as smaller guys.  Seriously?  How can something be a foul for one and not a foul for someone else depending on body size lol.  That was terrible.  Zebras got to clean that up it's a bad look on them...

Randall is a beast. His time is coming.

I’m more interested in the rumor that Kyrie Irving has decided to get vaccinated to rejoin the team… I’m not sure how true that is as it seems a bit unbelievable to me, but that’s what I’m seeing today.

I’m also seeing that double vaxxed LeBron caught covid before unvaccinated Kyrie Irving… Hmm…
6828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: December 01, 2021, 08:25:31 AM
Dwight Howard went off today for the Lakers. Finally they give him some minutes with LeBron out due to covid (he was vaccinated).  I’ve been saying he’s playing at a hall of fame level this year and it’s like nobody noticed. Glad to see him trending on twitter tonight and getting some respect now that he got the minutes to show up in the box scores.

Awesome contest.  If I had more time and talent I'd be all over it.  Maybe I'll give it a shot anyway.  Smiley

Thanks Roobet and Hhampuz!

The worst thing is we could easily have a consensus on the problem, but there seems to be no determination from the administration to fix it.

It might be because we don't have consensus on the solution.  Sounds as though everyone recognises there is a problem, but we have many different suggestions about how to resolve it.  Some people think more rules are needed, others think more users need to be banned, some say lock the board completely, while others still think more moderators will help.  Even I'm starting to wonder what would be the most effective fix.

Hear me out.  This might sound totally crazy at first, possibly even insane...  BUT...  I have a solution.  We could all just go on living normally and not let too many news articles being posted in the news section ruin our lives.

I know I'm nuts, but it's worth a try.  If Phoebe can do it...

6831  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will a coin cost if the USA abandon the US dollar today and switch to BTC? on: December 01, 2021, 12:19:12 AM
$10,000,000 per Bitcoin.  Likely even higher as much of the Bitcoin supply is ghost supply that will never again be accessed, plus fomo.

However, as others have stated, this will never happen.  There is so much debt and liability out there, not to mention greed, that the government will be able to keep those printing presses running long after any sensible person would have gone onto a new plan.  Nothing short of a war will change the dollar I fear.  Not even a president wanting to make the change can have any effect (see: JFK & Executive Order 11110).
6832  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Diversifying Your Portfolio in Crypto on: December 01, 2021, 12:05:40 AM
True. Diversification is a strategy and like all strategies these have to be moulded to each individual. There is not point buying anything you see just for the sake of being spread in shit markets. Wise choosing still applies.

Some people understand the word 'diversification' by exposing themselves not only to traditional markets in stocks and shares but also in the suit of strong projects in the crypto space. This is true diversification - or at least the way I see it Grin

I think diversification goes deeper then just your holdings as well.  Income should also be diversified.  If you're investing into the crypto space for example, you likely don't want your entire investment based on buying and holding.  You might also want to purchase some miners and mine Bitcoin, as well as some GPUs mining altcoins.  You may want to advertise for services or sell your own products.  You may want to stake some altcoins or provide liquidity pairs.  You may even find yourself investing in DAOs, creating NFT collections or building projects in the metaverse.  Going outside of crypto this same thing can apply.  Most people buy stocks and bonds that pay dividends, but they could also be selling covered call options for additional income, or buy real estate and rent it out in addition to having a regular job.  There are so many ways to diversify yourself.  Do yourself a favor and do them all.
6833  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Concerns on new covid variants. on: November 30, 2021, 11:53:00 PM
My understanding is that the new strain of covid is going to become the dominant strain.  This is a good thing because it is even less lethal than the other strains of covid.  The explanation I heard from someone educated on these matters is that this strain of covid will likely outcompete the others and weed them out in a sense.  This is especially good news for the unvaccinated, as vaccines are showing to not be very effective against this new strain anyway.  If you've been on the fence about whether or not you should give in and get the vaccine, I think now you finally have some good news that this pandemic is getting better the only way it ever could have, naturally with time.

Make sure you're encrypting using my key.  If you use yours then I won't be able to decrypt it to read it.

Sad to see Blake Griffin being benched...  Steve Nash said that he feels for him and understands the position he's in, but you can't take away opportunities from guys who deserve it.  I thought Blake was having a decent year from what I'd seen of him play, but after taking a closer look at the stats and seeing that his %'s have fallen off the chart and he's basically putting up career lows in every category, and maybe his burst of energy when joining the Nets was a bit of a mirage.  I wouldn't be surprised if this was his last year in the league.  A shame because he seemed to be growing into a role as a skill player, but his 3pt % falling below 20% I think sort of sealed his fate.

no-coiners spotted... Shocked Grin

Tell me you're NGMI without telling me you're not gonna make it.   Cheesy

Seriously though, I can understand why some people don't want to have to mess with this newfangled technology if they're just living their simple life.  I'm sure we'd see the same things happening in America if we tried to go on the Bitcoin standard.  It's quite the experiment to play with people's lives, but I'll keep putting in work to do my part to help make sure it ends up a success.  Appreciate all of you that do as well.
6837  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What do you think about staking? on: November 30, 2021, 11:26:13 PM
I like staking if it's a coin you're going to be holding anyway and it's on a reputable platform.  For example, I have ETH2 staked on Coinbase and I think it's great.  Currently getting 4.5% on my ETH and I'd be holding it there anyway.  Not to mention it's currently locked and can't be traded so it's an extra layer of protection from myself panic selling.  When you think that ETH is at times deflationary, and this is a trend that is likely to grow more frequent with future upgrades, the ability to earn interest on it is pretty amazing.  Those who have been holding lots of ETH from the beginning are likely to be quite wealthy if all goes as expected.  I wouldn't be surprised to see VB up there with Elon Musk if that happened.
6838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 'Squid Game' cryptocurrency scams $2 million on: November 30, 2021, 11:18:52 PM
As far as rug pulls go, you have to admit that this was one of the funniest of all time.  The fact that the show was about a bunch of people who make poor financial decisions fighting to see which one of them gets all the money, then you have the exact same situation recreated by an altcoin...  It's a level of irony that almost seems too funny to be true.  They say you can't write this stuff, but this seems almost scripted to be hilarious from the start.  If the creator was the one who rugged and this was a plan that was executed perfectly, he almost deserves kudos for delivering exactly what was to be expected from a real life Squid Game.
6839  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Hosts are dropping like flies... or at least dropping me on: November 30, 2021, 10:47:52 PM
The biggest issue I am seeing with hosting is that we are small players.
With the great miner migration out of China I am seeing data centers that are being taken over by mining operations.
No press, no fanfare, just slowly pushing out those of us hosting servers / routing equipment and the miners moving in.

I guess there is going to be a lot of that in the dedicated miner hosting market.
Would you want to host 5000 miners from 750 different customers or 5000 miners from 1 customer?
You can fire most of your support staff, no dealing with tons of configuration issues.
Get them power, get them cooling and let their staff deal with the rest.

-Dave

That's the name of the centralization game.  Cheaper and easier always has sacrifices somewhere.  First it was the home miner and they said to find a host.  Then the hosts started dropping customers...  It's a shame nobody has thought of a good way for the network to incentivize decentralization and small miners.  I don't think the blocksize has as much to do with it as the narrative would have one believe.  You saw different pools and companies come and go a lot during the CPU->GPU->FPGA->ASIC evolution which I think helped keep any one operation from grabbing a long term foothold on the market, but I fear that more and more individual miners will only continue to be squeezed out until another evolution hits the reset button and Antpool goes the way of Deepbit (to make a poor analogy).

The answer for me, is to run a small diversified mining operation on renewable energy while trying to stay nimble.
6840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 30, 2021, 08:12:32 PM
Agreed. Curry is definitely going to have his hands full tonight with the Suns who have been on fire ever since the bubble. The Warriors are the hottest team in the league in my opinion though. This will be a good test. I don’t think the Suns have anyone who can stop Curry though. I think I’d probably put my money on the Warriors, but I’m confident it’ll be a good game worth watching no matter what happens.
