One theory I got is that the full weight of regulatory crackdown in Asia (South Korea) are driving investors out of the market. A lot of news lately, fake news or not, have been in the media for the last couple of days resulting on some investors losing faith because of the current scrutiny of Central Banks not just in Asia, but in the whole world as well where the government is planning to clamp down on trading in virtual currencies. Going to be a long way to go before we can fully see the market recovers and turn green again.

I really believed that there are whales that can manipulate the whole price of bitcoin and swayed it on their favors. But I can't find anyone who are willing to come up and admit that they have a hand on every downtrend that we have seen in the past. I also doubt that they really cooperate with one another, do they actually speak to one another just like a Pump-and-Dump group?

Also the market is getting bigger, more whales who used financial institutions as front to buy thousands of bitcoin. So its really hard to imagine every single one of them conniving to pull the market to its knees.

I know that Wall Street big shots are trying to enter the picture, they could manipulate it or not. But unless we have some basis around it, I wouldn't think that there are serious manipulations, in my honest opinion.

I'm still waiting for Lightning Network to be implemented the earliest possible time. Time to shutdown those people spreading news about how high transaction of bitcoin is, slow confirmations.. blah.. blah.. And activating LN will surely have a big impact on the price.

Bitcoin previous records, speak for itself,  we don't need to take action for every crisis situation. Just hold on your coins. Actually its better to buy when the price is going down as well. And in the long run, you will see the profit gained from all your actions today.

There might be some manipulations behind, but we can't really say for certain. There a lot of money involved here, and it's difficult for a big whales or institutions to bring down the price to its knees, or I might be wrong. Just saying.

Correct, I can't remember what trading platform removes their trollbox because of what people are shouting, which influence a lot of traders to buy coins that they shouldn't and they bitch how they were convinced, similar to what the OP has experienced. I also was once a victim as well, I think in Yobit, when I was just starting my journey into trading.

You should have your entry and exit strategy to begin with, and just really stick to it no matter how the market moves. I'm sure with what the OP has experienced, it will be a hard lessons to swallow. Just learn from your mistakes and I really doubt that he can recover his funds. Goodluck.

Yes, blockchain, which is the underlying tech behind bitcoin has so much to offer not just on banking industry but other institutions like gas, pharma and so on. This will replace their old and legacy systems which so much efficiency.

Maybe it could be a precursor of another big event that is forthcoming, but I don't think that the crypto market will suddenly disappear and end. Actually this is just another start of a rally that will push every coins to all time highs.

And if you have problems with the high cost of tx fees and slow confirmations, you can go to altcoins markets, I'm sure you can find a lot of coins with immediate confirmations, but I really doubt that you will go there, because the bitcoin market is where the money is.

The best time to buy was in the last 24 hours when bitcoin dip below $10K mark after a long time. Now the price is rallying, although it is still not expensive in my opinion. Also there's no perfect time to get into the market because bitcoin, even though we have seen it crashed in the last 2 days it is slowly on the road to recovery.

When the price increases, obviously its market dominance will goes up as well. Its good to see though that after 2 days of bleeding, bitcoin and altcoin are going on a positive direction. And its not really too late to buy both coins and its a solid invested.

Hey mate, where have you been in this last 2 days? First there's a lot of news in circulation that China will ban bitcoin mining and then another from South Korea which says that they are going to put a tighter regulations around bitcoin trading, ICO investment, in short anything related to cryptos. We all know how big the South Korean market was, so the market crashed and bleeding to death. However, for short term only as everyone is already making a comeback and the all markets are green again.

We really don't know if the dumping has stop, but just like I said, the market is slowly getting back on its feet but we should still be wary as their might be another negative news that will pull the market price once again. And don't panic, long term, we are going to see bitcoin prices going to the moon.

Again, bitcoin was tested when the market crashes but its slowly recovering now. I don't know about BCC though, Yes it has big blocks and faster transaction, however, more miners are still in bitcoin because its really profitable on their end. Everyone is trying to make money here, if BCC can't offer enough incentives for the miners, they will stick with Bitcoin.

Besides, I haven't seen BCC gain enough traction from the community. I guess we all know the people behind that project is questionable and cannot be trusted, in my opinion.

No. I don't think that there will be another dip coming in the next 2-3 days. On the contrary, bitcoin will recover in the next couple of days and we might see it go to $13K-$14K. We have recovered more than 10% this day alone, so its very unlikely that there is another dip coming as you portray it. It's still good to buy though today, so instead of you thinking of a dip, buy today and take the opportunity to gain long term.

Yes, but you can still buy bitcoin today because it is still at a discount. Its still January, buy it now and then hold for long term and I'm sure that when bitcoin goes to the moon, you can doubled your investment in just a short time.

The hype train hits the break. Now its down to $9++ again. In all fairness to Ethereum, all coins are bleeding including bitcoin. If you are new to the crypto world, you will be shock as how volatile the market was. Just looking at the marketcap, this 2 days of suffering wipes out hundreds of billions of dollars. However, this is just normal to the crypto market. No one would have thought that this is going to happened very soon. But we should not panic here. Well there's a lot of news going around the ecosystem for the past 2 days that really cause the market to crash. Governments are waging war against it, but I'm sure that we can stay afloat in the next coming days. This is not a long term effect on the market.

We can't really control how the price will moved. Sometimes it will not go on our favor because of the FUD going around. Its just normal to see corrections happening from time to time so that we can moved even to a good direction. Another bump in the road, the logical option is not to panic sell, hold on your coins and come back after 3 days. If you constantly checking the price of your investment going down, most likely that your decision will be clouded and sell everything.

I'm sorry to hear that you lost your ETH dude. But we all know that ETH transaction is irreversible so I doubt that you can recover you funds again. How did you got hacked by the way? You have any idea? Lately there was been numerous reports about MEW phishing incident, so I assumed that you may have inadvertently went to that phishing site.

Up to now EtherDelta, has still the deposit thing issue. It has been DNS hacked as well. So I also advise to stay away from it.

I've been holding my Ethereum for last 3 months and I must say that it really give me a good profit. I hope that it will peak at $10K this year because it would made me very rich at the end of the year.  

Its early to tell, we have seen how crypto price goes, very volatile and unstable. So the only thing that is on our side is those new investors that will come to the market in the next several months. I hope that they do flock and pour their cash on Ethereum and Bitcoin so that we can really surpass and get to $5K-$10K this year.

Hmm. Actually I'm also disappointed at how the price turns out to be. Its really specially when you look at their bounty page and says "1 ETH = 600 TIO". I thought HitBTC already listed them ahead of Okex? I guess the dumping occurs because the bounty hunters got their tokens(but less).

Another issue I'm seeing is that there are a lot of bounty hunters still not receiving or getting less than what they are promise from all their hard work. I hope that this can be settled ASAP.

I don't have speculation but if I have that tokens, I will not dump it but hold it longer term. Such promised with this project in the beginning and I think it was in the top #5 ICO if I'm not mistaken. So I will advise to just hold on it.

There are a lot of reasons why bitcoin price is swinging, like people cashing out of just what you have said, they are shifting to where the money is. Right now altcoin is booming, and maybe investors are really moving their money on altcoin market.. This will continue until such time that bitcoin enjoy a bull run. Investors will go back to the bitcoin ecosystem and join the hype train once again.

No one can predict what will happen in the future, unless you are a time traveler. Even TA is not working on the market because its based on pure speculation.
