6981  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin prices predicted to hit $96000 in the next 5 years on: September 11, 2018, 07:24:25 AM
As quoted by an analyst from the article (Source mentioned below)
Quote
"Currently, the vast majority of the total cryptoasset market capitalization is held in traditional store of value markets, with offshore deposits accounting for nearly 40% of the total," they stated in the report.

Going forward, growth in this market capitalization will come "primarily from increased store of value use case penetration," the analysts claimed.

Further, they predicted that as custody solutions "come online," the "penetration" of offshore deposits will increase "dramatically."
Adding to this I personally find it a possiblity due to the recent reports as mentioned below
1. A dealership in Houston Texas accepting bitcoins for the purchase of Rolls Royce cars
2. Goldman Sachs CFO says bank is working on bitcoin derivative for clients
3. Major Japanese Department Store Chain Marui Accepts Bitcoin

Goldman Sachs cryptoasset market capitalization plans seem to be inline with the analysts
claims.
Maybe it is hard to predict the exact value of bitcoins in the next 5 years but these are major player adopting bitcoins which will contribute significantly towards the
growth and adoption rate of bitcoins.
Is the prediction over bullish in your opinion ?

Source:https://www.forbes.com/sites/cbovaird/2018/09/10/will-bitcoin-reach-96000-by-2023/#79d5b93237dc

While I love to see bitcoins prices go up I prefer to be realistic, and currently this looks more like a marketing gimmick to me. If you're seeing at current levels I would keep it under 50k as a realistic target for the next 5 years, maybe it can cross higher, but it'll need major announcements like bitcoins etf being accepted, USA accepting it as a legal tender, or most of the global countries accepting it.
6982  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's the strangest or craziest thing you witnessed in a casino? on: September 11, 2018, 03:40:32 AM
Once I was playing the slot machine with my wife when someone that she knew (a distant acquaintance) asked her for $20 cause she ran out of money. My wife gave her $20. Half an hour later, the woman came back, removed her gold chain and tried to sell it for $50 cause she ran out of money again. My wife said no thanks. That was the last time they talked. The woman used to be married and had two sons. Sadly, her gambling addiction caused a strain on her marriage, and resulted in a divorce. Her husband left her and took custody of their children. The woman's gambling got so bad that she ended up working as a prostitute for a while.

What's the strangest or craziest thing you witnessed in a casino?

I remember my first casino visit to Macao with my cousins, I had decided to carry lot of cash and had decided to play and win a lot. After trying slots, roulette and other machines I finally gave up, I was simply loosing. On the other hand my cousin kept on winning big, after a while I told him let's leave you won good, but like they say greed makes you blind, he lost everything, then he asked me for some funds which I gave, post that he was ready to sell his iPhone which I said no, he even approached a stranger to sell his suit. This kind of weird things do happen, just you should be careful with whom you go to the casino.
6983  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let be objective with our investment on: September 10, 2018, 04:11:39 PM
We need to accept the facts that it's very difficult now to see a coins doing x10 x20 or even doing 50% returns on investment in this bear period.  And nobody knows when the bulls will come. Therefore,  it's will be advisable to exist when your coins do 20% returns or even less. I know some investors will not be satisfied with 20% but we need to be objective and understand this bear period will last longer than expect.

I believe you mean to say exit when they're getting around 20% appreciation, which according to me is not a great idea. If you observe past returns given by bitcoins, this is very less and I am not really sure why would people settle for less. As for the bear periods do remember they won't last forever, sooner bulls will be back and one will definitely earn more than 20%.
6984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Game of Thrones - Who will rule? Odds and betting discussion [Odds updated!] on: September 10, 2018, 12:28:08 PM
Snip
The actors have apparently said that multiple scenarios have been shot, but Massie Williams did tell in a talk show that she knows the ending of GoT.

I read an article recently and GoT is more likely to be released after May 2019 and not before that. We still have a LONG way to go.

Snip

A possible outcome could be Danaerys's child, and Tyrion to be their mentor.

Danaerys mostly won't survive till the end.

Snip

@Bitcoincasino.io. Watch the season 8 leaks in the Talkingthrones channel in Youtube. It will change your prediction hehehe.

@pitiflin - I could live with that, Tyrion has shown his abilities Cool

@bbc.reporter - Watched couple of them... not sure what to think or believe anymore.
In a way I expect big surprises, but then again someone mentioned earlier that it will be just full blown action for 6 episodes Grin

Cheers,
Karl

But they were very well made and appeared to be almost like the real storyboards. In any case, everyone should watch all 8 of them then post all your analysis. It might help us choose the right answer and win the bet hehehe.

I am yet to watch the YouTube series and I probably will avoid, this show gets my nuerons fired up to another level considering what's going to happen next, or who do we have to say goodbye. As we have entered the final season now, I feel we should get ready for 2 -3 characters to be bumped off per episode. I suddenly feel Jon and Danny won't die, as the writers keep on saying it's a story of Ice and Fire, and this irritates me knowing one of them has a good chance to be bumped off.
6985  Economy / Speculation / Re: when will you learn price is not related to news on: September 10, 2018, 07:52:49 AM
A lot of people asking what happened after a steep move of btc price. Just like there must be a bad news for down and good news for up. There is no rule like this and probably a lot of people will not really understand. There are few thing affects btc price but news are less affective on price, dont like to give numbers but it is more %5 of btc price is related with developing news, infact there was no real relation but some people think there is a relation so it causes an affect on price. Likely a lot big drops happened without a proper reason. But still people was wandering around any news which may cause to this. Big company accept btc so it should rise? they dont microsoft accepted btc affected only %0.5 bump on price just long 10 hours and price continued to drop that days, some people says mtgox crysis is the cause of 2013 rise and fall i find it funny. There are a lot of price moves on btc and you cant find matching news with them. If you wonder what is real cause of that steep drop i can say it is manipulation, not even free market can react that fast it is manipulators. But it is another topics's subject.
Just know bitcoin price is almost not related with any news. Kiss

I'll agree to some extent that news does not play an important role in deciding the movement of the prices, however it depends on which phase are we in. If you remember last year when the bulls were raging, none of the negative statements had any effect on the prices, but no sooner did prices start to drop and all fud news came in the prices got effected. This happened cause we had given up support for bitcoins, and were ready to believe the fud was true, but not all news effect, the only news effects the prices are the one community chooses to be effected by it.
6986  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DO PEOPLE STILL HAVE CONFIDENCE IN BITCOIN? on: September 10, 2018, 04:05:37 AM
Why are many disturbed about the  drop in the price of bitcoin  Cool. Come on guys, this is the not the time to give up on this amazing digital currency. Although this year has been a very volatile year for bitcoin, but one thing has always remained whenever this amazing digital cryptocurrency goes down, it bounces back much stronger than it was before. This is hope that keeps most crypto enthusiasts like myself who are resilient and have compelled us to develop a strong faith in this amazing cryptocurrency called bitcoin. Please this is not the time to give up on this amazing coin.  Roll Eyes

I can speak for myself and many of the community members, we have not lost confidence in bitcoins and we never will. The people who loose confidence easily are the newbies who're obsessed with short term prices. If only they had taken efforts to understand that bitcoins is a futuristic technology, it's completely decentralised and most importantly it was 1k last to last year, and now it's 6x times higher, so I don't understand why they're loosing confidence.
6987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FunFair going live... blockchain casino technology on: September 09, 2018, 04:00:34 PM
In a recent company update they officially announced that they have been granted a Curaçao license. In case you don’t follow our reviews on cryptocurrency casinos and other blockchain-based gambling platforms, this is a crucial aspect in their journey as most of them operate with a Curaçao license.

Full article: https://casinosblockchain.io/news/funfair-casino-going-live

There're two aspects to this story one that the casino has taken efforts to get a Curacao license, the other this license is now available to almost all casinos so I'm not really sure this shall make the casino great. Also having a license doesn't generate users trust, there're many factors which makes me trust a casino however license is not one of them. I do hope you plan to retain your users by offering better service, and not depending on a license.
6988  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Real Question on: September 09, 2018, 11:16:39 AM
Hello all,

I am new here and in cryptocurrency. Actually, I stumbled upon this forum after watching a youtube video about Bitcoin Real. I have joined their Telegram group and saw that they are asking for KYC and bank statement. Is that usual? I need someone to guide through what goes on here....any help will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
KG

Hey I don't know the correlation between that video you saw and Bitcointalk, but I do not think it's legit and you could end up in trouble if you gave over your documents. If you feel they're misleading you being representatives of bitcointalk then you should bring it to the notice of theymos he's the owner of this forum. I feel you should immediately leave that group, and stick to this forum only when you need help relating to bitcoins.
6989  Economy / Economics / Re: How much more fall is possible ? on: September 09, 2018, 06:45:22 AM
I think Bitcoin is not too far away if the price goes down, we can see from the graph move in VIP Bitcoin,
the price of the most popular virtual currency continues to struggle in the range of USD 6,000. Whereas yesterday Bitcoin was still sitting comfortably in the range of USD 7,000. In fact, the cryptocurrency had dropped to USD 8,000, the figure was the lowest during 2018. The last time the virtual currency had a value of under $ 6,000 occurred in November 2017.

Hey if you have been observing Bitcoins did found good resistance at 6500$ levels and then slowly steadily it moved to 7300$ levels. It was at these levels that people started to sell it, and that's why the prices went down overall I feel it's a short term downfall. I believe that bitcoins shall soon rally up, as there is lot of potential to rally up from this price levels, also at these levels it's best to add them and average it out for the long term.
6990  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: International Games Prediction Thread on: September 09, 2018, 04:02:46 AM
Germany-France 0-0 but game was really good .One time again Germany has no striker
Italy-Poland Poland was better in first half .It was debut of new polish coach coach without experience.A little boring game  and yet another Italy poor effort

I'll give credits to Germany for holding the game, after their disastrous World Cup performance not many would have thought they would manage a draw. It's pertinent to note here France seemed to lack the spark that saw them lift the cup, so didn't quiet enjoy the match. I'm surprised you were expecting Italy match to be interesting, it'll take quiet a while before we see that. In other results England not only lost the match, but the injury to Shaw is bad, that lad is finally realising his potential last thing he needs an injury.
6991  Economy / Gambling / Re: OnlineCasino.info - Online Casino Ratings - Bitcoin Gambling Guide on: September 08, 2018, 01:31:42 PM
Find an updated list of the latest casino bonuses for September at onlinecasino.info. We have listed over $30,000 in casino bonuses from fiat online casino sites and more than 7 BTC in bonus offers from Bitcoin casinos.

Hey so out curiosity I visited your site, and directly moved on to see bitcoins casino, and I'm really surprised you don't have any big bitcoins casinos name listed on your site. The ones you have listed at your site barring one or two I have never heard them before. I would advise you to recommend quality casinos, rather than increase the number of reviews of lesser known sites. Also include more detailed information most importantly do they ask for KYC, provably fair and how long they been in the market.
6992  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: September 08, 2018, 09:54:12 AM
Watford is dark horse of that first early games.Four games and four wins
After 2 weeks break they will face Manchester United yet another hard game for Mourinho against rival what is on fire

Liverpool best start of season from  long long time and still it is pleasure to watch his games

I'm sure all opposition team fans and even some sections of Manchester United are hoping Manchester United loose, and Mourinho gets the sack. However that's not going to happen, I had suspected it along and now I'm really sure there is a huge financial package involve if Mourinho was to get sacked, and we all know that Manchester United owners love saving money.

Manchester United vs Watford is a mouth watering clash, and if Mourinho wins it I guess he silences his critics for a bit, but what if Watford are the next Leicester they have performed brilliantly so far. If you'll understand the reference Mourinho got sacked post the defeat at Leicester hands in his third season, will history repeat itself?.
6993  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still believe in predictions of "experts" about the bitcoin price? on: September 08, 2018, 07:42:31 AM
I believe that we should never trust 100% in any prediction about it, even if that person is presented as the greatest expert or master on the subject, because we must always keep in mind that at the beginning of 2017, when the price of bitcoin was just in $1,000, none of those alleged "gurus" was able to predict that the price of bitcoin would reach $20k some months later. And besides, neither was able to predict the tremendous collapse that the market would suffer next.

If those relevant historical events went completely unnoticed by the "experts", I think none of them has real bases to present themselves these days announcing that bitcoin will reach this or that price by the end of the year.

I don't know which experts are you talking about but for me there're no experts in the bitcoin industry, especially the ones coming on television. These guys have no idea how the technology works, neither have they brought bitcoins, but they'll come on television screens and make absurd claims to get their moments of fame.

I don't remember them predicting the rise or crash of bitcoins, all they do is keep on spreading fud and misleading potential investors and existing sellers. I have never trusted their words, and never will ever trust them.
6994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to choose a good casino among the many others? on: September 07, 2018, 01:31:34 PM
Let's discuss the criteria for choosing a good casino. The market is quite a lot of sites, good and not very. Surely each of you had your own experience of interacting with them. I want to know from you how exactly you choose a casino, how much time you spend on it to understand whether it is worthy of your attention. Do you trust the opinion of experts who advise any platform?

The criteria for me to choose personally begins with whose the owner, and what is his reputation in the online gambling world cause it says a lot about the casino and it's functioning. Then I'll move on to find how old is the casino all kind of praises and criticism, what is it usp which makes it stand out from others. Then I'll look here as almost all reputed casinos have an Ann here, this shall help me understand what people think about it. Last but not the least its ability to payout to people, if someone wins it big sums it up for me.
6995  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where to keep BTC if I don't want to keep in exchange? on: September 07, 2018, 10:00:08 AM
A few weeks ago I got an email telling me that my password had been changed by someone on my poloniex account. So, I suppose therefore my account was hacked. Immediately I went to freeze the account and changed my password. But the thing is, I don't want to risk that happen again with a large amount stored in the exchange.

Where would be the best place to keep my BTC while I'm not trading with it in an exchange? I don't feel as if storing it on my own hard drive is very secure as hard drives can fail, and what can you do if that happens..?

Hey you should never leave your funds on an exchange, most of the times they'll get hacked and you'll loose your funds. I would suggest you to download electrum wallet, it's free and highly secured, you can use it on desktop or download it's app. Then you could also make a paper wallet, as you have stated you are not using them regularly. If your amount is pretty big, then you could invest in a Trezor wallet, it's the highest level of security you can get. Also i do hope you had raised a complaint at the exchange, questioning how your password was hacked.
6996  Economy / Economics / Re: If the stocks market will crash again like 2008, what will happen to bitcoin on: September 07, 2018, 08:22:52 AM
If the stocks market will crash again like 2008, what will happen to bitcoin?
I personally think that people will take their money out and will invest it somewhere else.

Do you think that bitcoin will be a good alternative?

Hey why do you feel that we'll see a crash similar to the one we saw in 2008? Now let's take a hypothetical situation we indeed witness a crash in the stock market, why would the investors who probably would have lost their money, invest in another volatile currency like bitcoins?.

There is a argument that they'll try to hedge or try to make money in bitcoins, but it's difficult for me to believe that, as most them would be conservative and would not be comfortable investing in bitcoins. However the high risk investors will invest and we shall definitely see a spike in the prices, but with abnormal prices will come panic sales, it might do some good to bitcoins in the short term but not for long term.
6997  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: September 07, 2018, 03:41:41 AM
The 5th and final test match will start later today and from all reports it will be Alastair Cook's final Test before the 33 year old former captain retires from international cricket. Its a shame that he lost his form over the past couple of years as he was a great run scorer for England, I believe he now holds the record for most runs score for England in test matches. It will be an interesting 5th test as England would want to win to send their former captain out on a high while India will be looking to bounce back after a hard loss.

The last match of a very interesting series is ending, both the teams gave it all, but in the end team England came out on the top in almost all departments. Alastair cook made his debut against team India, and it's sheer coincidence he's retiring against them, he's truly humble and one of the best captain I have ever seen. I'm expecting team India to make wholesale changes to thier team, with a series of Australia looming ahead, this is an excellent chance to experiment. I would yet mark team England as favourites and Alastair to score big, what do you'll think.
6998  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I LOVE PANIC SELLERS on: September 06, 2018, 04:17:46 PM
People go here and there spooling, spreading and propagating FUD to get on peoples emotions and to put them on PANIC MODE just so they sell their BTC, and you know what, PANIC SELLERS in these industry are LAZY, they can't and won't research and understand after lots of rise and fall in these year that the KING of all digital currencies is just going through a phase.

I personally Love PANIC SELLERS, and I hope there can be a section on these platform where they register so that people like me can contact them to buy CHEAP from they..

GRACIAS PANIC SELLERS, MUCH LOVE TO ALL OF YOU OUT THERE BLESSING FUTURE MILLIONAIRES WITH YOUR COIN

I don't think panic sell is that bad, this term has been derived from stock market where it's bad but when you compare it to a volatile currency like bitcoins people may actually profit. I know a person who brought it at 6k, when it hit 7.3k he got nervous and sold, and he plans to buy again if it touches low, so you see not all panic sales are bad, many accidentally profit too.
6999  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HODL is it profitable or not? on: September 06, 2018, 02:48:21 PM
it really depends on what you HODL. i rarely hold altcoins long term. however, there are a handful that i believe have long term viability (or at least long term staying power in the market) and i've invested accordingly.

but i think most altcoins and tokens are cash grabs that will fade over the long term, and in those cases, HODLing may crush your portfolio. i'm definitely a HODLer, but the vast majority of my portfolio is BTC. and even that i hedge with futures when the market goes full bear.

Indeed this is the correct strategy to follow, the notion to hodl everytime is often misused, especially in the case of alts. If you would research the alt market there're very few coins which one can hodl onto, otherwise I prefer quick sell when it comes to alts. I advocate only holding one coin, and that coin is bitcoins, no other coins should you hodl. There're so many people who bought bitcoins cash, and are cursing themselves as that coin is just slipping down and down.
7000  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What makes the best sportsbook? on: September 06, 2018, 12:19:39 PM
Hey guys,

I was checking and trying betting on many different sportsbooks recently and started wondering what does it take to be the best in this field.
Is it the best odds? The biggest community? Ease of use? Provenly fair? The biggest amount of promotions? Or maybe something else?

What is the most important thing (or things) and why have you chosen the particular sportsbook?

For me I'd say that biggest odds is not the issue, since my betting activity is mostly about fun - not a source of living.
I noticed that I liked one with attractive, engaging promotions, strong community and generally nice graphics far better than the others.

There can be no fixed answer for this question, as it'll differ from person to person's perspective. In my case odds do have a important role, as they determine how much will I get back, then how quickly does it credit when I deposit and withdraw play an important role.

I do look to see if they have an active shoutout box, as it'll show how active the site is. I'm okay with no promotions as all major promotions turn out scam, I do need site to have excellent graphics and fast loading speed.

I do keep on trying new sportsbooks, but I'm looking forward to launch of Bitdice Sports book, if you like to visit new sports book keep a eye out for it.
