Very interesting project. The variable costs would be the electricity+maintenance fee (3.3c/kWh). Is there anything stopping GW from increasing these costs absent an increase from the utility company? I understand the current rates are based on Public Utility of Washington state and the minimum wage limits, but nothing forces GW to remain tied to these numbers, correct?

Additionally, is there anything stopping GW from introducing new fees? Perhaps fees for miners not purchased through a partner? Or eventually restricting access to only those miners purchased through the partner?

I'm just trying to go down the path of worst case scenario. I'm sure the current leadership and team at GW isn't planning these changes, but someday the company gets bought by a giant hedge fund for a bazillion dollars and they monetize everything they can for their own benefit.

How is gona raise difficulty with one unit if it has 15MHS? If dificulty is 500k, with one D3 gona be 515k?

Also, anyone speculate on price vs difficulty relationship? Using LTC as a reference over the past 3 months diff went up 3x and price did the same (roughly speaking). Does price follow difficulty in general?

I'll try to keep the butt hurt to a minimum, but I was on the site at 6:30pm HKG time and kept getting connection timeout messages. Finally added to cart after like 20mins, but by the time I got to checkout they were sold out. I was on an iPad with LTE connection, was that the problem? It seemed impossible to get any of the pages to load and process an order.
it had a slight delay for me but nothing unusual, my internet speed is ~50mbs

Must have been a shitty connection for me. Other tabs seemed to load fine but Bitmain was so slow.

just thought share if you still want to buy one got email from bitmain :

Dear customer,

We are pleased to inform you that we have will release a new batch of the Antminer D3 miner at this link after 6:30 PM (Beijing time) on July 25, 2017.

The Antminer D3 is Bitmain’s first ASIC miner to mine the X11-algorithm based cryptocurrency DASH.

This batch can deliver a hashrate of 15 GH/s. Because of the high demand and the manufacturing period, shipping for this batch will start after 15th of September 2017 and on a “first paid, first ship” basis. If we advance the shipment, we will notify you.

the link from email : https://goo.gl/4BDLhJ

If the shipping date is the same as Batch 1, I expect the price to be higher. That would be fair right? Tongue

Looks like ~ 1.12BTC for the D3, just over $3000 USD

Looks like where?

https://shop.bitmain.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020170718203947438V537cuy7067F

Disregard the USD price and check the BTC/LTC

Update: well, now its back to .97 BTC, it was showing 1.12 when I first posted. Looks like they are messing with the page as we speak.

You ain't seen nothing yet. That's after only one small batch has been released. Profit down 35% already.  LTC profit will be down to $300.00 per month by October. I bet those poor bastards that paid $6,000.00 per unit from Amazon sellers are not feeling to good now. 2 years to pay the bastards off now.

Yea I bought one of the last from the Sept 21-30 batch and Im hoping for less than 6mo to make back the 45 LTC it cost me.

Well, time for an update and it's not a good one. You guys were right. I placed an order last Sunday June 9th and still haven't received a shipping notice. Tried contacting the company and they said to just wait. Website says the order ships each week, but it's not looking like that. I'd advise everyone to be careful. It seemed too good to be true, and it was.

You should be the person asking for his order on the 4th day, claiming to have ordered "last week". We haven't told you to "just wait", here's what we exactly told you for everyone to see:

Quote
Hello,

We have sent you an e-mail through our primary mailbox info@minersnow.com on the day of your order but from your message sent today we believe you may not have received it. Your order with reference code VVFZEPYYW given on July 10, 2017 is currently being processed and will be shipped from our South Korea warehouse's weekly shipment in the coming days.

You will be notified once your package is out.

It has been a busy week and we have had a lot of orders waiting to be fulfilled, so please accept our apologies if we have kept you waiting too long.

Thank you for your understanding, and choosing us.

Best Regards,

711  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: July 24, 2017, 01:35:15 PM
isn't it very risky to sell stuff like miners on ebay? With all those buyer protection paragraphs they have?

eBay is very skewed towards buyers and completely screws the sellers. Ive had numerous hassles selling stuff (non-crypto) there before and even had a customer return an empty box for a refund while they kept the product. Seller beware...
712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: litecoin mining investment on: July 24, 2017, 01:27:11 PM
Anyone think the D3 and A5 will help take the pressure off the LTC difficulty? Im hoping people will jump to the X11 and leave script for a while. Probably wishful thinking.

Grin so you think all those ppl who bought the l3+ going to give up mining LTC ?? Grin

Lol, well I was more thinking about people who were debating between buying the L3+ or D3/A5. But sure, everyone who currently has the L3+ should shut off their machine and sell it to me!  Tongue
713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: July 24, 2017, 12:16:29 AM
No one knows what Bitmain will do.      Maybe they'll announce a D3+ ?

It's all speculation.

What were the conditions that caused the L3 to have such a short lifespan before the L3+ came out? It seems like there is an arms race going for the X11, so maybe a D3+ isn't crazy?

Has Care4Me actually partnered with any insurance companies yet? That seems like it would be a big first step.
716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: July 23, 2017, 05:07:55 PM
Would pull about $210 a day if you had it right now.
Shipping is 2 months away. Looks like Dash difficulty went up 300% in trailing 2 months. If the same is expected, you are looking at $70/day profit on day one and declining fast.
It could be interesting if they gave a 2 month grade period like they gave early L3+ adopters.

Is there any chart on any website where you can see that the difficulty has gone up 300% in the trailing two months?

https://www.coinwarz.com/difficulty-charts/dash-difficulty-chart

Apr 23 was 134600 and yesterday it was 540941

If the PRE-ICO will be successful then this coin will be so awesome and it will make a big impact and it has a promising future in the world of cryptocurrency. Nice one CareCoin.

Seems like a great concept, are there competitors with similar models? What makes Care4Me different?

Even though the MOQ is down to 1, Inno seems desperate to sell. Any chance you guys will be able to get a group discount? Id be interested in 1 if they can get the price down to $6-7k
720  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon A5 DashMaster 30.2G 750W on: July 22, 2017, 05:27:28 PM
Looks like they are desperate now. minimum order dropped to 1 unit (clearly shows that there isn't enough takers on 3 units)

Yea, and free PSU now? Smells of desperation. I wonder if we will see a price drop after July 25, or maybe thats crazy.
