701  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin wallet on: December 17, 2015, 09:01:35 AM
I m Newbie. Can anyone help me? Smiley

I didn't recommend any of those. I recommend with high responsibility Coinbase. I ma telling only few of the qualities that have such wallet. All the fees that you pay in all the other wallets when send bitcoin, in this wallet are paid by the wallet. So no fee for you. Any kind of fee. Then 98% of customer funds are stored offline. Offline storage provides an important security measure against theft or loss. Coinbase distribute bitcoin geographically in safe deposit boxes and vaults around the world. So every possible hacking will have, maximum, only a few satoshi as "earnings" for their work. Coinbase is insured against employee theft and hacking in an amount that exceeds the average value of online bitcoin it holds at any given time. Specifically, Coinbase's insurance policy would respond in the event that bitcoin stored in Coinbase was lost or stolen as a result of a breach of our physical security, cyber security, or as a result of employee theft. There are even much more but if you are interested can go to their site and discover all yourself. Do a search with this name and will appear immediately their site.
702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dorian Nakamoto wins Craig Wright at the media war on: December 17, 2015, 08:48:36 AM
At least was serious with himself and all the world. Since the first moment. Was exactly the opposite of this last one. Which was almost self declared as Satoshi Nakamoto. To not tell that is more much "attractive" as a personage compared to Wright. I wonder that with those story with its name how must do the true Satoshi to not seems ridiculous or to not become a debatable personage like the above. Every kind of proof that him can show or tell must find an opposite interpretation by someone. Maybe this could be now another new reason that may stop him to become publicly known.
703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So...bitcoin is now a national currency on: December 17, 2015, 08:31:43 AM
So this small island off of Portugal, Principality of the Pontinha, has been a sovereign nation by royal decree since the 1400s. It has been handed down and changed hands a few times. The current leader has decreed that bitcoin is the nation's official currency.

This could literally kick off a lot of things. Bitcoin would officially become a foreign currency for all nations.

Equador, which is the only country to actually pass a law banning Bitcoin (which the law only banned Bitcoin from running on its banking network) had a stipulation that it would be recognized if it became a national currency. So by passing such a law...they may have potentially forced themselves to recognize bitcoin as an official currency.

I wonder how US will deal with considering Bitcoin a commodity when it is officially a foreign currency as well.

http://www.newsbtc.com/2015/12/13/bitcoin-atlantis-currency/

Good to hear that bitcoin is a national currency of an country (that to tell the right, is the firs time that I hear its name). I cannot understand how will be able the govern of that country to manage the monetary policy and what will use the people of that country to buy the bread of every day, but if choosen mean that the responsible people who has made this has thought for everything. Anyhow I am curious to know how will continue this story. I am curious even to learn when will find them the needed bitcoin to maintain their administration. Which needed continuously. Without end.

I haven't found any data about this "country" in internet and cannot tell more. But seems something that make me smile. It is the the possible impact that will have such choice in the entire world according to the main poster. But really think him that a "country" about which don't exist any kind of data in internet will be able to have such impact in the world (including United States) as mentioned in its post?

Beh, I want that bitcoin be important but not ridiculous. Such choices may be good ones, but important only for them who made them. Pretend that a "country" with 5 or 6 people (like could be with to much probability this kind of country) have impact in the entire world (including United States) is a pure fiction. This "country" could have the same impact in the world like Liberland which has chosen before the above mentioned, bitcoin as a national currency (to tell the right I am not founding more news about this fact but I have read it when this country has declared the self-independence) and has only 1 person as inhabitant who is everything in that country.

I think that we must be more serious. United States are "banning" states like Russia with their international monetary policies and must accept bitcoin as a foreign currency only because a family or two (or even more) have decided to declare it as a "national" "personal" currency of themselves? Cannot comment more.
704  Other / Archival / Re: Do you think bitcoins will disapear or become unused? on: December 16, 2015, 03:43:08 PM
ofcourse bitcoin will become unused in the future, especially when there's no activites or no bitcoin transacted,
just like any currency, when food become rare thing, people will rather finding food than finding gold even gold is rare too, because gold can't be eaten

So you are telling that even that the life will be unused because is already rare. The people will begin to not born and those who are live to die always and more young. Following your way of expression and your thoughts we can tell for sure that if the chicken make egg then is not told that someone has as name something which can be eaten. Going forward with your thoughts, your logic and your way of understanding the things the sky is red because when was created there were not people on your house. I can arrive until here with the meaning of all the above told about you. So cannot give other examples that can be at the level of your other thoughts expressed the last two words. Extremely high meaning. Cannot arrive. The only thing that i wanted to know form you is: can you tell me please the source of your knowledge? I want to try to become with higher and superior brain like yours. Thanks if answered.  Shocked   Huh
705  Economy / Economics / Re: Do your Christmas shopping at businesses that dont convert bitcoin to fiat on: December 16, 2015, 12:41:58 PM
There needs to be more encouragement for shops to keep bitcoin.  There are a few businesses that keep their BTC as BTC and we should be encouraging that.  Not using companies that are just using the bitcoin for buzz and cashing in on all of us bitcoin consumers.

There should be a list online of all the businesses that dont convert their bitcoins into fiat. Then we could as consumers make that choice.

What does it mean this? First of all I want to buy something that satisfy me and not bitcoin. Bitcoin is important but not in such kind. Bitcoin cannot condition my life in this way. I am not addicted by bitcoin to choose as a gift for my wife something that satisfy bitcoin but not my wife. If my wife want something that can be bought only in a store which not only don't accept bitcoin but even can hate it, me, for sure, will buy in that store that thing that satisfy my wife. Bitcoin cannot be and cannot be treated like a dictator. Such conception is extremely wrong and make only damage to it. It can and must be accepted only with the free will of everyone who want to use it. Otherwise no one will accept and use it for a long time (even from them who are using it already).

These behaviors are extremely dangerous for the bitcoin and never must be used or accepted from everyone who want that bitcoin have a brilliant future.

Whats wrong with having a list of businesses that do not convert to fiat and allowing consumers to make their own decision? Nothing as far as i can see.

The wrong is in blacklisting that merchants who don't use bitcoin. The wrong is to think that in this way make good to bitcoin. All both can be intended by the words and thoughts expressed in the man post. The wrong is to make hysterical calls to favorite these merchants who keep bitcoin and don't change it (the most stupid things I have heard in my life about bitcoin). The wrong is to make hysterical calls to not buy at businesses who accept bitcoin and then change it in fiat money (another from the most stupid things I have heard in my life about bitcoin).

But the most stupid of all the above is to read the full main post because is a totally bullshit. Have nothing to do everything is write there with the making good to bitcoin.
706  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: December 16, 2015, 09:54:08 AM
Hi! Cheesy

I recently created a thread asking for the best methods of gaining free Bitcoin.

Most popular results:
  • Signature Campaign (High Paying)
  • Faucets (Low Paying)
  • Trading (Variable)

Now, I'm asking a different question.
What are your best methods of growing Bitcoin.

Only refer to safe investments!

Thanks

Recently I am investing in three opportunities. According to me The first is safe (for the meaning which might have this word about the online opportunities). Has 5 years online and 9 years of development. Always correct with everything. More than 4 million us dollar invested and more than 6 million us dollar withdrawals. More than 52 000 investors. Hundred or representants in to many countries. A sea of data in the website which give every kind of needed data about their activity.

The second one is with medium risk as for me. It is correct with everything, has a very professional site but has only one month life. Only this last data make me to classify it with medium risk. Because there is not any other kind that make me think that this opportunity can be risky.

The third one is considered by me as an investment with high risk. I am investing in a new crypto only guessing (from several signs I have noted and supposed) that the price of this crypto (actually very low) will go better. Hope much better but even better it will be enough.
707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What unit do you find more comfortable when measuring BTC values? on: December 16, 2015, 09:39:17 AM
Im curious about the statistics on this nowadays. Honestly I don't know if it's only me but im still used to BTC, even if it would be seen as inconvenient with small amounts, might be because I used BTC only for years. Lately I also learned dealing and managing in satoshis when I started getting small payments because of the sig campaigns. Im really slow when it comes to math so this helped me (experiencing it by using it yourself).
BTC + sat for me then, maybe BTC if I really had to choose.

Exact the same story even with me. I had and have again difficulty to perceive the real value of the amount of bitcoin I have or receive if it is not told in bitcoin. If are used mbtc, or other small units of measurement I have no idea what is the real value of that amount. Must convert it in bitcoin and then understand. Recently I am practicing in understand better those smaller units but always will be better for me if can be used bitcoin itself in expressing every kind of amount in bitcoin. Even if it will be 1 satoshi. Only in this way I can understand easily and immediately the real value of the amount in question. Compared to bitcoin itself but even compared to the other currencies.
708  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to do with 1,5 BTC? on: December 16, 2015, 09:24:48 AM
Hey so i recently got about 1,5 BTC from a service i started and now im wondering what i should do with this. Any tips?

I would suggest three options. First and the most indicated is only to hold these strongly in your wallet. To not use these for any reason. Even, to think how to find other friends to those. Second, if you will find yourself to be unable to do that, then try to invest those. I am part of this second group of peoples. I have very few bitcoins in my wallet. Most of these are invested. In various ways. For the moment are three and all three are going well. Hope to continue in this way. If you want to know more about those pm me.
709  Other / Archival / Re: Do you think bitcoins will disapear or become unused? on: December 16, 2015, 09:13:36 AM
I think bitcoins have a good futur. not much people use them and there is no real use for these people. The problem is that the people that doesn't use it is the majority of the planet. And you, what do you think about this? Will bitcoins have a glorious future?

Normally the success of bitcoin worldwide must depend from some factors but even with that condition I think that bitcoin will be a very successful product in the market of the currencies. Doesn't have any importance that actually is used by very few people compared to those who don't know or don't use it. If can be successful as a product will be known for sure in the times to come. And this will increase even more its value.
710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When was your first "awareness" of Bitcoin/How were you made aware? on: December 16, 2015, 09:09:19 AM
Back in 2008, 2009, 2010 I was a standard irc user and would always type /list to see all channels on a given irc network.
I would sort by most populated channels first.  This was my weird OCD process, to see what projects, and technologies people were interested in on Undernet, Dalnet, eventually freenode.

Before bitcoin related channels existed on freenode, I used this method on some irc server(the network I long forget), and saw #bitcoin with about 130 people in it.
I joined, and as soon as I joined everyone was spamming their wallet addresses.  I asked why, and I was told people were sending 10, 50, 100,300, and other random amounts to BTC to each other when they were worthless, in turn strengthening the network.  This was late 2009.  This is when Bitcoin had no value.

I promptly asked what Bitcoin was about, and after getting the explanation from a few, I said: "Why would I use Bitcoin, when I can use debit cards online", and/or cash in person?
Then the person that responded said: Do you want to take part in global financial disruption, and become the new elite?

I promptly laughed, and said to myself, "wtf is this sh**", and left the channel.

Fast forward to mid to end 2010, is when I finally started taking it seriously after seeing early applications being shaped, and the beginning undertones of organized crime being interested in it.
When you know the darkside gives something a serious look, you know the early adoption means it has value.

Setting that 'dark notion' aside, I saw it for what it was.  I got in early, but not early as I could of.

Does anyone have any stories similar to the irc scenario?

If you were in contact and become involved with bitcoin to the end of 2010 and then write that "I got in early, but not early as I could of" what must to write me which was in first contact with it only at February-March 2013 (so three years later). I am truly a belated. Even I was attracted immediately by him reading various thing about the technology in which in based this invention. But my problem was to have lost most of my bitcoins due to wrong investments with it. Then slowly begin to buy but my resources are limited. So every day become more hard to have new ones. I don't know what to do if the price goes high. To be happy because of the verification of my hopes about it or to be sad that I cannot had or have as i want from it.  Huh
711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the global currency of Earth on: December 16, 2015, 08:56:48 AM
its easily the strongest cryptocurrency valued 450 times more than the US dollar

the first Super currency and  the best store of wealth due to its cryptographic  network strength

Very few words and very full and high meaning. It could be enough the fact that bitcoin worth 450 times the value of us dollar (which the most powerful currency of the world) to understand the power of bitcoin. But I think that is nothing compared to the hopes of everyone of us. Can anyone imagine the importance of someone rich with bitcoin? How was possible to not buy more when the price was 40-50 us dollar (the time of my presentation with it)?
712  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving Party 2016 on: December 16, 2015, 08:42:38 AM
Do you have any plans for the evening Bitcoin halves?

If reading this retrospectively, what did you do the day of bitcoins halving?

The only thing I have in mind in this moment is to follow the price of bitcoin live. This could be the best party for every person which want and have trust on it. If this price will go even higher than it is going actually (maybe doing a jump and not slowly) this could be the best party I can have. Even for the moment I have only few bitcoins because most of those are invested in various sites. The most sad thing will be the lost of those or even part of those because of possibility that the owners of the sites be scammers. Even I am having profits momentarily I am reinvesting those again. Maybe after a few time will began the withdraw to not remain without nothing if can be true the bad thing mentioned above.

714  Economy / Economics / Re: Passive Income on: December 15, 2015, 04:54:08 PM
Hello everyone.

When I first started studying marketing and business the first suggestion I received from some successful people in my niche was to first establish a source of passive-income. For some this is placing ads on their personal website or otherwise capitalizing on their hobbies (e.g capitalizing on your forum hobbies with signature campaigns), and for others this means developing a product or service-solution which manages and sells itself.

Passive-income sources should be thought of as an investment. Like any kind of asset, it can be analyzed to determine whether your time-input is sufficient for your income-output. For example, if it takes you X hours a week to post on forums and you make $X.XX... maybe it would be more cost-efficient for you to learn a trade-skill, or take on some over-time, or make YouTube videos to promote your personal website or hobby. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Whatever it is you do, whether you manage an online-store or you post on BitcoinTalk forums on your weekends, share your knowledge with us so we can all support each other.

Shalom aleichem.

For me seems strange your concept of the passive income. According to me cannot be passive income if you "work" to have income. Have no importance before ar during or after. In almost all the examples given by you in your post must to do work to earn. If I have spent time to do something that "created thing" cannot be named passive income even if you don't do nothing after the creation. Because you have spent time, money and other kind of sources depending from what you have built. If you have spent "something" mean that the income from it is not "passive" but return of your previous "investment" understood as a sum of your work, your time spent and your money spent for having all the other sources needed for the creation of the "thing" from which will be secured income. As for me, passive income may be only that in which you invest your money and have earnings without doing nothing during all the process of earnings; if cannot be taken in consideration the time and the work to have the money for investing. But if will be taken in consideration the last subjects excluded in the previous sentence then cannot be told for sure that cannot exist the passive income.
715  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Argentina’s New President Might Just be a Bitcoin Supporter on: December 15, 2015, 04:32:11 PM
"Mauricio Macri was sworn as the new president of Argentina on December 10, 2015. He confronts enormous economic challenges. He received a country with an inflation rate estimated at between 15 to 27 percent, foreign reserves at a ten-year low, plus a decade-long series of struggles with holders of defaulted debt. One of his highest priorities is to grapple with the nation’s currency controls. Also, he has vowed to end corruption, poverty and drug trafficking.

Interestingly, President Macri has just created a new national Ministry of Modernization. And, he immediately appointed as the Minister of Modernization none other than the man who organized and participated in the First Bitcoin Forum in Buenos Aires, Mr. Andrés Ibarra."

Full Article: https://news.bitcoin.com/argentinas-new-president-might-just-bitcoin-supporter/

If Argentina implements Bitcoin at a regional level it will have a HUGE impact on the market since it could be a very rich and powerful country if it's properly administrated with many resources. Plus it can set the the tone for others to follow. What do you guys think?

This is a very good news. A supporter of bitcoin become President of a country and his first choice in a new Ministry (for more named with a name full of meaning) is a pure bitcoiner. Cannot be better. As for the role of bitcoin in all this story, according to me can be its acceptance as a national currency beside the peso. But it will be hard to become reality. If made will be a very revolution in the true meaning of this word. Will have a big impact in all the countries and will be the first true experiment with bitcoin used as a legal money within a country. If can be made something other for bitcoin in Argentine is only that because with actual legislation bitcoin is considered money but not national currency. So if will have the courage to make it legal currency (national money) will be the maximum that can be made. Will have the courage? Only him know that.
716  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you like Android or ios for mobile Bitcoin transactions? on: December 15, 2015, 03:46:40 PM
Pretty self explanatory. Do you like Android or ios for mobile Bitcoin transactions?

I have Android but don't like to use it for such things because seems very complicate and even insecure. Maybe needed to put every time all the needed data to enter to your wallet and to do transactions but me seems not secure the smartphone itself to do such things. Have fear that hackers can hack the smartphones more easily and follow all your data or follow you and in the time of the enter learn everything. Maybe is an in vain fear but communicate through "the air" seems not secure to me.
717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What wallets do you use and why? on: December 15, 2015, 03:39:15 PM
I myself use 3 different wallets. One is on my Android device, one on my desktop PC and one online.

The one i like the most is on my desktop, MultiBit. I like it because you can quicky generate new deposit adresses and keep track of your incomes and outcomes. I only use Blockchain for some payments, and on my mobile phone i have MyCelium wallet, which i use for mobile/QR code scanning payments.

What wallets do you use and which one do you prefer and why?

I use Coinbase since almost three years. Initially had one at blockchain.info but then after the known of Coinbase decide to use this last for to many reasons. First Coinbase pay all my fees for every sent of bitcoins I made. So no any kind of fee for me. Then 98% of customer funds are stored offline. Offline storage provides an important security measure against theft or loss. Coinbase distribute bitcoin geographically in safe deposit boxes and vaults around the world.

Coinbase has held this insurance since November 2013 with highly rated carriers (S&P rating of A+ or A.M. Best Rating of A XV or higher).

Then I can create a multisig vault in minutes, just like me would want to have a regular vault or wallet. The difference is that I am in total control of my private keys.

Naturally that if wanted can be used 2 step verification. But not with sms in your cell (thing very boring because to many time the sms cannot arrive and let you out of your money. But using Authy in your smartphone which generate how many codes you want to use in the moment that you open it. So enter in your wallet with two step verification using directly the codes that are generates in your smartphone.
718  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best way for small online shop to accept Bitcoin? on: December 15, 2015, 03:23:15 PM
Hi, I run a couple of online shops and manage a few others for clients - they all use WooCommerce running on Wordpress and are fairly small. They all make 1 or 2 sales a day, so not major traffic, although transaction values are quite high as they sell high value items.

What would be the easiest way for me to integrate Bitcoin payment into these businesses? I have seen various services such as BitPay but don't know if any of them are recommended over any others. In some ways it seems like these guys act as a "middle man" which kind of defeats some of the benefits of using Bitcoin, if you ask me - is there a simple way to set it up without having to use such a service? (A plugin or something similar which simply works out the currency conversion and then connects to my wallet).

Any ideas or help appreciated.

Join Coinbase. Are mainly a web wallet (with to many security measures) and lately even even a very successful exchange. They have an impeccable service for merchants. I am not an expert in such kind of things but know that to many of those collaborate with it (are more than 41 000 businesses work with them). I cannot tell if is the best choice for your case but I can tell for sure that it is worth to give a luck yourself and to evaluate using your eyes and your mind if it is good for you.
719  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dice game strategy? on: December 15, 2015, 03:09:25 PM
Here's the simpliest dice game strategy:

Deposit on your balance $10 or $20 or whatever you can afford to lose. Play 49.50% win chance. Hit the MAX button and hit the ROLL button. When you lose you lose that's okay as long as you deposited the amount you are okay with losing. But if you win, which also might happen  Smiley , then don't play more, just withdraw and play again if you want so the next day, or, which is better, next week. )

Fantastic strategy. A very complicated, superior and victorious one. The true strategy of a gambler. Calculate and create strategy ... to lose. So, when we are obligated to make a war and make e strategy the accepted best one (maybe even the best, who know this) would be that strategy which foresees the lost (read the dead) of all the our army with big probabilities than the won of the war without the loss of even one of those. So or all dead or all live and winners. If you lost all the army nothing can happen because was already foreseen. If you win, again all foreseen. I'm thinking about other situations. Maybe to loss some and to have more chances to win. Don't work. Not a victorious one like the above told. So the poster, as a creator of the strategy, is invincible. Important is that if you win the war have made this with a very unthinkable by no one strategy. Have no importance in this victory the fact of the possible loss of all your army.  Importance has only the fact that the strategy had foreseen everything.

And me who write that in dice cannot be strategies and models to follow... Huh
720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finding Satoshi on: December 15, 2015, 03:02:20 PM
I really do not see why people re so into finding Satoshi. He s created a great product. Who cares who he actually is.

This theory about recent BTC price jump caused by his exposure s really BS.

The curiosity is more than normal. If you will heard something special or particular will want for sure to know more about that. Or if you see a beautiful and sexy girl for sure will want to have the possibility to speak and to stay with her. If it will be me at your situation will have desire to do even other things. Wink If you are curious for such normal everyday things how is possible to not be curious to know more and as much as it will be possible about a genius which with its invention (materialization of something know only as theoretical) has open the road of the future change (to be correct must tell change began already) of the whole world of the most advanced technologies. Seems the most normal thing to me. Event much more interesting even than the above situations mentioned by me and about whom I am sure that you will care if it will be possible to happen to you. At least for me will be so. Maybe in the case of the girl cannot be "more" but "equal" for sure. Cheesy And without doubt will be a very big and not even a few less, even a little, interest.
