I just can't get why so many bitcoin fans in this forum are believers of conspiracy theories. What about this forum makes it so attractive to believers of conspiracy theories. Furthermore, why do those people think it's a good idea to share obscure theories in a forum about bitcoin?
Edit for spelling
Please research these so called "theories" over the decades litterally 100's of "theories' prooved to be true.... In other words, dont be a sheep and wake the fuck up.... in stead of judging, research it, but one warning, you will be horrified to see what governments do on a regular basis... I don't know man, of all the theories I'm seeing here very few seem to be evidence based. I get why people would believe in theories against FIAT money and banking in such a forum but we've gotten from that to lizard men, blatant antisemitism and "proofs" of illuminati's existence everywhere there is a triangle.

I see that it was re-added to the wiki page...
I didn't expect to see edit wars in a wiki with closed registrations. No reason behind the edit as well, Lanser just added what is allegedly a scam back to the wiki page and nobody seems to care.

I try to read from the original before clicking when I seriously care about the content. As of personal messages, there's currently no way to prove that they one that quotes it publicly isn't defacing the quote but then again those messages aren't meant to be public so I don't see why a way to verify authenticity of PM quotes would be needed.

Well, op. My guess is that you're doing it wrong.
If you want someone to be involved with bitcoin in the long term you'd have to find a way to make it appear useful to them. I introduced a female friend of mine that is an artist to bitcoin and she's now accepting it as a means of payment for sketches, not much traffic but she's now an actual user. Rest of my female friends know I'm involved with bitcoin, know what it is but don't get the same joy I do when posting in bitcoin forums. People have different interests, for some girls it's more appealing to post selfies on facebook rather than posting on forums with strangers. With that said though, it's not like no women visit this forum. It's just that gender has nothing to do with bitcoin, especially when posting online so it's not discussed often.

The overall thing seems nice but I wish its esports section would be updated with the latest matches.

For what it is worth, I found a Reddit post from 2014 saying that simple.com is 'bitcoin friendly'. If you (OP) value personal experiences over the ToS and agreement in their website then this should be what you're asking. To be clear though, I also skimmed through the ToS and Agreement and there doesn't seem to be any mention about bitcoin. They're probably still keeping this 'friendly' stance. https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/22p3e7/simplecom_is_an_onlineonly_bitcoinfriendly_bank/

Care to give a short explaination of what simple.com is? From what I see so far it's about banking services. I think that checking if they'd block your accoutn for transactions related with bitcoin would be as simple as looking into their ToS and/or User Agreement. Coinbase will only block accounts if you're completing transaction that would be considered illegal under US law.

Splitting zip files is a good way to upload content to fai. Sadly this way it won't be displayed withing the client. People itnerested will have to download the files and put them together with their software.

Anyone should be able to use bitcoin for any poursose.
It is the global currency, and no one should be able to limit it. AT ALL!
But then again, we also have the right to refuse helping in a campaign to make bitcoin appealing to radical leftists and progressives. Especially if the party asking for help refuses to cooperate and resorts to name calling. We're all for bitcoin adoption but using Shaming tactics for no good reason doesn't help promote your goal.

Is amaclin's "Cheap way to attack blockchain" what's currently used to stress test bitcoin? no Οh, thanks for the clarification. That seems a bit surprising though, seeing how cheap and efficient the method you detailed would be for a 'stress test'. Edit: now that I think about it, the current stress test likely has the goal to crash nodes. It's not the most efficient block filling attack but from what we see it was quite effective at crashing nodes. Would the SIGOP stress test have any success at such a thing?

I think that the development was involved with Chinese audiences from the start. The wallet released with a Chinese translation inside etc.
It seems to be the exact same text too, what do you imply that someone 'stole' it? It seems like the same thing is promoted.

Its the miners they are testing ways to create backlog so they can make more money in fees.
That doesn't make much sense. Do you think that this is what's going on this time too?
