701  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Unconfirmed transaction b/c of low fee, tried to do a CPFP no luck.. on: April 06, 2017, 04:10:24 AM
Usually the larger fee on the child will help the parent transaction confirm. But the original transaction only had a fee of 3 sat/byte and the transaction is quite big ( 21,715 bytes ) which may be causing some miners to ignore it even with the larger fee child.

I'm guessing this will still confirm due to the child transaction but will take some more time. Unfortunately, the first transaction's fee is too low to accelerate the transaction with ViaBTC as well.
702  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Seed generated by Android version is invalid on PC, but works on another Android on: April 06, 2017, 03:59:24 AM
I've been warning devs since a few months ago about this bug, although they're insisting seeds generated in any platform should work in any platform.

Truth is that I have Electrum 2.7.18 installed in a disconnected Android device that I use as a cold wallet, but I've tried unsuccessfully to import this wallet to more than one Ubuntu PC and  I receive the same error message: Invalid seed.

In other Android devices it works perfectly.

Seeds generated by Electrum client installed on PC also works on Android.

This almost caused me 6 BTC losses if I hadn't rushed to buy another phone to recover the wallet.

EDIT: this is not an isolated case. Every seed generated by this offline device is not not valid to be redeemed on PCs.

I believe the Android version of Electrum runs on the same code base and just has a different GUI, so I don't see any reasons you wouldn't be able to restore the seed unless one of the words is misspelled or something.

Is your seed 12 words in length?
703  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Questions from a newbie - Thanks for your patience on: April 06, 2017, 03:55:53 AM
.
Sorry once again but you mention 13 words but I have only 12.
Will this cause any problems while resurrecting my wallet from scratch?

The default seed in my version of Electrum is only 12 words in length as well and is not 13. You won't have any issues restoring from these 12 words. I've read that some seed versions include 13 and some include 12. Either should work when restoring I believe.
704  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to programmatically populate fields in Electrum wallet. C# or vb.net remote. on: April 06, 2017, 03:54:05 AM
A couple of you may know, from my own C# or vb.net program open and running next to electrum, how does one populate fields under the Send tab so I can set up quickly the Pay To, Description, Amount and Fee that already exist as data in my application, optionally would be nice to be able to check the Replaceable check box and possibly activate the Send button but doing those parts by hand would be a good pause for human verification of the "sent across" data.

I have a system that requires at times multiple transactions to be sent within a small time frame, filling these fields by hand with copy and paste gets very slow.

You could just have your app write the payment information to a file and load the file via Electrum. Not sure you would be able to specify the fee, but generally using Dynamic Fees is a better option anyhow and ReplaceByFee can be enabled in Preferences on a global basis if required.

Also, if the transactions don't need to be sent separately, you can always send to multiple addresses via a single transaction. You can write a list of all the addresses and payment amounts in a file and load it for ease of use.
705  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE CASINO - BLACKJACK IS ON! AND CONGRATS TO COCTAILS WITH 70BTC WIN :) on: April 05, 2017, 01:41:00 PM
I am waiting this "Treasure Chest" to see what it will be... Roll Eyes Tongue

They just added the "Treasure Chest" on the dashboard so you can open and see what your prize is!
706  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Is it really safe to use Electrum? on: April 05, 2017, 04:10:24 AM
I'm still studying their system, but it's probably a lot better than storing in exchanges or online wallets. If you do not already have a hardware wallet, that might be a good option until you get one.

What might be a good option until i get a hardware wallet ? Confusd??
Electrum and a few others desktop wallets. But as you said, I have to study this more deeply, to know which is the best.

My favorite desktop wallet is Electrum. I definitely recommend using this until you get a hardware wallet. It also has the benefit of being compatible with a number of hardware wallets so you could choose to use it once you get a hardware wallet as well and you will already be familiar with it.

It is good to see some new games added and changes overall.
What new games added?
I still see the same ones from anout a month ago. Undecided

Nah, i am sure that you just don't look good... Wink
On the upper left corner on the site, press the tab "Games" and in the drop down menu, you will see "BlackJack".
Before was "Dice" and "Slots" only, now we have and a third member to our game family.

Great addition btw, i play a little bit and looking good... Cool

I don't usually play BlackJack but this was another good addition of game to bitdice.

There would be more to come and it will make bitdice give more exciting games to all of us.  Wink

Yeah, BlackJack is definitely pretty fun. I also like the speed of the games as they go quite fast.

Looking forward to see what other games will be added next. I heard a bunch of new slot games were also coming soon.
708  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Transfer not hitting Blockchain and 0 confirmations on: April 05, 2017, 04:04:41 AM
Tried to make a transfer earlier today and forgot to change the satoshis per byte fee, I should have turned on dynamic but it didn't cross my mind as i was half asleep when i made the transaction. When i open the blockchain VIA electrum all i get is "transaction not found". 0 confirmations as well of course. I would like to note that i am using a slightly older version of electrum as well ( 2.6.3) if that has any impact.

Transaction id is     dc4ff43b23b6045e13f10fcfc299c55d4af788f5aca6aaa733df3a6577903c56
receive address is  1BBo5G2gUzfhtpmd13N1EtH2ue42BxMXU3

Any help would be appreciated, my understanding is that it will automatically return to my wallet in 4 days if it has not been confirmed? Just would like to have an alternate solution if there is one.

It looks like this transaction already confirmed. I definitely recommend you update Electrum to the latest version as 2.6.3 is pretty far outdated and the new version has many bug fixes. Also, definitely enable Dynamic Fees.
709  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Someone please help on: April 04, 2017, 06:31:49 PM
Thank you for replying, i saw a vid about doing the dumpprivkey but i get this error: Error: Please enter the wallet passphrase with walletpassphrase first. (code -13)

That means you need to unlock the wallet with your encryption password first.

Use
Code:
walletpassphrase "your walletpassphrase here" 600
to unlock your wallet for 600 seconds and then dump the key.
710  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: help with vps mining on: April 04, 2017, 06:30:22 PM
Yeah, I don't recommend attempting to mine on a VPS. With a VPS, you are sharing the hardware with other users and they normally set caps on the amount of resources you can use. And it simply isn't worth the time to mine with a CPU, it won't be profitable and is very slow.
711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Someone please help on: April 04, 2017, 06:26:30 PM
ive bought 0.0435 BTC bitcoins and sent it to the bitcoin core but its saying its gonna take a year to sync. i need to order something tonight, im a total noob and help will be appreciated!!

Bitcoin Core can take quite awhile to sync but I doubt it would take a year. It does need to download several hundred GB worth of data though as it downloads the entire blockchain.

I use Electrum wallet instead as it is a lightweight wallet and doesn't take nearly as long to sync and requires a lot less disk space. I'd recommend you take a look at it in the future.

It might be possible to spend the coins without being fully synced, but not sure. You could also likely export the private key of the address you sent to another wallet such as Electrum which would allow you to spend them sooner since Electrum should sync in less time.
712  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Is it really safe to use Electrum? on: April 04, 2017, 05:39:41 PM
What can these centralized servers see from me? Only my adress, or also, but not limited to, IPS, operating systems, etcetera. Which data does electrum stores/collects? How much privacy do i have using Electrum in comparison to Bitcoin Core?

If anyone has a link to their ToS, that would be greatly appreciated.

The servers can see your IP address as well as your public addresses. I don't believe your Operating System or other PC specific information is revealed though.

If you want to be more anonymous while using Electrum, you should use a proxy or Tor for Electrum's connections.
713  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Illegal character 0 at position X on: April 04, 2017, 05:35:13 PM
Thank you for answer,

I guess now it is just a matter of waiting for the network to "forget", I appreciate the time,  just last question, if I used viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/ to accelerate to transactions, will I be "recalling" the transaction and by doing so I will be making the "Forget" process longer ?

regards,

Using the Via Accelerator, will cause the Via Mining Pool to include your transactions in their next mined block. If you use this, you likely won't need to wait for it to be forgotten as it should confirm more quickly using this process.
714  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE CASINO - BLACKJACK IS ON! AND CONGRATS TO COCTAILS WITH 70BTC WIN :) on: April 04, 2017, 04:06:17 AM
I don't gambling very much on these dice site. Undecided
I would considering using your site if you offered some incentive to play there.
What does your site offer that others have in place already?
Maybe offer a small amount of bits so some people who haven't considered in using a gambling dice sites before might bring them in to see what they are all about. Smiley

Check out https://www.bitdice.me/dashboard/bonuses as well for a list of some unique features that are offered including Loss Back and Bet Back incentives.
715  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Illegal character 0 at position X on: April 04, 2017, 04:01:05 AM
This looks like a bug in Blockchain.info.

Both of these transactions load on another explorer:
https://tradeblock.com/bitcoin/tx/c220fdd80e7d4584490b70a0b42ef9578e55b527756944832b99f12386deea1f

The fees on these transactions are quite low at 50 sat/byte. Please make sure you are running the latest version of Electrum and use the Dynamic Fee option ( which should be default ) to help ensure that good sized fees are used.
716  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Can't broadcast signed transaction on: April 03, 2017, 01:26:45 PM
Generally, installing an older version won't help. I'd recommend that you try installing the latest available version and then creating a NEW wallet and restoring from your old seed. This should recreate the wallet and I believe you would then be able to spend the coins without issues. Try it and let us know if you still see an issue.
717  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can you mine your own transactions? on: April 03, 2017, 02:54:24 AM
Yeah, it is technically possible but the odds of successfully mining a solo block is very low unless you have a ton of ASIC miners or something.
718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC is the next pump, buy before moon landing!!!!! on: April 03, 2017, 02:30:21 AM
Putting everything into one coin is too risky. You need to diversify in case LTC crashes for example. Its a gamble so don't risk what you can't afford to lose!
719  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE CASINO - BLACKJACK IS ON! AND CONGRATS TO COCTAILS WITH 70BTC WIN :) on: April 03, 2017, 02:26:52 AM
Yes there is not a big problem because dealer is busted, how about if dealer wins? This will become a big problem, more over if when player play a big amount there. If this happen and playe lose, I dont think admin will repay him juat because of this small bug right? Luckily that player is not playing big right now but still OP need to give him some reward and fix this issue

That issue was actually already fixed several days ago and has been working without issues since then.
720  Economy / Services / Re: BitDice Casino Signature Campaign [WILL START 1 DECEMBER] on: April 02, 2017, 08:09:26 PM
Took a bit longer to fix images, but server was on for several hours already.

Upgrade has been finished, if you find any bugs please report them Smiley

Regards,
Alex.
Is this the reason for the late payments for this week perhaps?
Been since Thursday and have been waiting for them to come in usually on Friday night from when they have been confirmed to be coming in from I remember.
Anybody else receive their's yet?

Not yet, but they should coming in pretty soon I would imagine. Give it another day or so and it should get processed.
Yeah it eventually came in around an hour ago.
It was the latest we had to wait though. Four days since Wednesdays post count and spreadsheet was provided for the payments to be sent out.
Could this just mean the campaign is coming to an abrupt end soon?

Nah, it just means the payment came later than usual. Things can come up so I wouldn't worry about delays in payment as long as the payment comes through.

I can confirm I received as well.
