701  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MtGox account in the USA has been seized by the DHS? on: May 14, 2013, 10:27:30 PM
Has CoinBase gotten their act together to allow for larger purchases?

No-ish.

I was using them regularly and then, when the price crashed to 60 or whatever a month ago I bought a fairly large sum and Coinbase decided I was all of a sudden a fraud risk for no raisin.

Made me miss out on real cheap coins Sad

What some exchanges will do is gamble with the bitcoins of their customers, if the price would go down they would be more than willing to give you the coins.

I'm predicting that the official word will be that this is to stop terrorists.  That's the catchphrase everyone uses now to rally support.  Heck, even Syria's Assad calls his rebels terrorists for the same purpose.

Call me an aluminium hat wearing cray cray individual but just wait until a terrorist attack or kidnapping happens and they surprisingly find out a tie to BTC... Israel has already claimed that Bitcoin is related to terrorism and painted it in propoganda, guess some countries are getting a head start  Grin Business: Virtual terror finance

On SatoshiDiamond.org the player can't lose nothing... if past 24h the gem will be reset to 0.1 and the last owner receive back all bitcoin send Smiley 0% random reset...

Do you mean that the player can lose nothing, or can't?

Every few weeks one of these 'gem' games pops up where the owner claims that everyone either wins or breaks even.  It's amazing how anyone can think that it's possible for everyone to make a profit in a zero-sum game, but it keeps happening.

Edit: according to the site itself:

Quote
Instead, exceeded 24 hours from the last diamond buy, The game will be resetted and the diamond price come back to 0.1BTC.
When this happens THE LAST buyer will receive the 50% of the amount sent.

this is in stark contrast to:

Quote
last owner receive back all bitcoin send

and so I think game qualifies for an asterisk at the very least!

It's a pyramid scheme essentially, need to be pretty bold to claim that and offer such services, I wouldn't want to be on the other side of that once one of the customers takes his life. Not because of the legal responsibility but because how can you live with yourself.

Seems that the only way to have a decentralized cryptocurrency is to have decentralized authority, one day you will be able to go down to the street and grab yourself a Bagel and some BTC. Of course by then transferring BTC will be a thousand times more convenient, the gullible masses are easily manipulated so they can make up more excuses to make the currency illegal, however I see no way of them winning in this in the end.

I remember the times that when they threatened that they will make guns illegal in the USA people claimed that the gov would have to take the guns out of their cold dead hands, some even said that it would happen. Today after a series of massacres by individuals completely blitzed out of their mind by psychiatric medication people seem to all oppose legal guns in a single voice, not only that but you are portrayed as a baby-killing-traitor if you want to protect your family.

Soon you will be labeled a terrorist-supporting-traitor if you want financial independence.

This much

...

They are all from India man, the "I understand your frustration" is just a psychological trick they have learned which is surprisingly annoying. Everything always has to be in shit sandwiches and double meanings with them, e.g. if they want to refuse to help you the first paragraph will summarize how they understand every single word and how they thank you for writing them, the second one will basically tell you to fuck off and the third one will go on about how you're an important and valuable customer and thank you so so much for choosing them.

Took me about 500$ to learn to never trust eBay or Paypal, if you absolutely have to pay use your credit card and if things go sour just reverse it with the credit card company, the lesson I've learned has been well worth the money.

If I was you I would first come to the realization that the world isn't fair and they are not willing to play by the rules, then open an account without the word "bitcoin" in it and sell "coin mining" hardware or something. I do however take comfort in the thought that their days are numbered and we will all bring to their fall...
706  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Apparently PayPal can no longer be used to buy/sell Bitcoin mining hardware on: May 14, 2013, 06:31:10 PM
Pay Pal are nothing better than thieves. They will randomly lock accounts. Supposedly "refund" money that has been in your account for months.

They will not communicate. You can only write within your account, you receive automated emails back that do not relate to what you have written.

If you phone, you get blatant lies told to you. Each call is finished by them telling you they will sort the problem if you get off the phone and that they will email you the resolve within an hour.

The email will come and it tells you exactly what you already know. Your account is FOREVER locked !

THIS IS WHY YOU COULD BUY 1 BITCOIN FOR $10 6 MONTHS AGO AND TODAY YOU NEED $120 TO GET ONE SINGLE COIN.

Wake up. It's YOUR MONEY !!!!!

The funny thing is that if you email them in advance and ask if this is allowed they will tell you that it is allowed, as well as operating a Bitcoin exchange, selling Bitcoin hardware and so on, but if you actually do it they will freeze your account forever.

Okay we now give out 0.01BTC to every member that plays the casino regardless of win/loss. Just post your txid in this thread. Only valid once per member.

И как у вас со временем ставок. т.е. смогу ли я делая перевод сейчас, учавствовать в следующей игре, а не через 10 - много минут?

P.S. мою идею сперли... Wink

Bitcoin.

мы сейчас работаем над системой пользователя которая позволит поместить большие ставки мгновенно.

Самое главное не идея а исполнение Wink

Exactly what I've thought about, Bitcoin "plugins", you would put a bounty for a certain amount of information processed.

Is there a limit to the amount of free hugs that I can receive?

I'd definitely like one, but I'm just worried I'll be scammed into paying for my second/third one.

No, it's all P2P, completely decentralized, we also encourage double spending as confirmations are not needed.

*Hug*  Wink
718  Other / Off-topic / Re: FREE Hugs on: May 13, 2013, 01:23:50 PM
I'm allergic to hugs

Well someone bring an anti-allergy pill up in this bitch 'cause guess what? *hugs*

I want a hug that is slightly too long. Not extremely long, but just enough to be awkward. Smiley

One 20 second hug following an awkward moment to you!

Thanks! I feel much better now.

*hug*
