It's not easy to buy $100,000 worth of bitcoin at one time payment. Exchangers are implementing limit on buying bitcoin. And i think some exchangers are implementing different limit. So far, $5,000 is the the highest limit when you are verified on exchange. So it's impossible to buy huge amount at one time unless someone offers you to buy his/her bitcoins.

My goodness! $4 billion is really huge amount! Wow! Its a history in world of crypto( i guess). I wonder where he store those funds. Does he even sleep well at night knowing that he scammed many people? I think the victims can chase him now and punch him right in the face. Luckily i don't store any penny from that exchange. Definitely Litecoin(LTC). I don't trust Monero(XMR) at all. Recently they release fake announcement which makes me fall for it. They are dirty. I lose a lot of money from that. Actually, it's an online wallet. And online wallets are not that safe IMO. It's becauee you don't have full control on your private keys. I prefer SPV wallets like mycelium or electrum. They are safe and easy to use. Also you have the full control. Or even better if you use bitcoin core and run full node. But that's needed a huge amount of bandwidth.

Nope, buy it's for your safety. You know every exchange or web wallets sending that kind of notice to their customers because of the activation of SegWit. You just need to cooperate with them to avoid losses. If they are going to close. That's optional. You don't need to install desktop wallets on your computer bust to keep your altcoins. The exchange itself will provide it for you. Every altcoin on a particular exchange has its built in wallet. So you don't need to install wallets to keep them. But if you want it more secured. I suggest keep it on a wallet. Use multiple wallet like jaxx wallet. I think you can store different altcoins there. But i recommend it only for long term trade.
