702  Other / Meta / Re: Does merit really helping the forum. on: March 16, 2018, 06:25:11 PM
It is almost a month the new system of merit has been implement to the forum. What is your opinion? It is really working as it was expected? What is you opinion?

Fantastic innovation to drive quality posts, trash out spam posts and find out alt accounts meriting within accounts. It has reduced number of spam posts, increased quality posts, being a positive push for beginners aim to contribute quality posts spending more time in referring things related to crypto.  It driven me to avoind spam threads and sections. For an example, the sections on 'Discussions'. Though it takes time to get merits, its worth and satisfying in contributing quality posts.
703  Other / Meta / Re: Over-replied topics on: March 16, 2018, 06:14:05 PM
what is the problem of over-replied topics? please enlighten me.

Filling up repeated answers to the thread where even the creator of the thread do not turn back on it. Cleaning of old threads with too many pages of repeated replies would help kick out spam posts. Just read through the replies. Sir Yahoo's reply can be brought to the screen. Auto deletion of old thread with too many pages would reduce the work of moderators and managers. This would wash out spam threads as well.
704  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-03-16] - PayPal : Bitcoin Is ‘Hedge Against World Falling Apart’ on: March 16, 2018, 05:58:47 PM
https://cointelegraph.com/news/paypals-peter-thiel-longing-bitcoin-is-hedge-against-world-falling-apart

PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel described Bitcoin as “a hedge against the whole world falling apart” in new bullish comments March 15.

Speaking at the Economic Club of New York quoted by CNBC, the Facebook and rumored $20 mln Bitcoin investor said that while he did not foresee Bitcoin fulfilling the role of a currency as yet, its ability to replace gold as a store of value was different.

“I'm not talking about a new payments system,” he said

“It's like bars of gold in a vault that never move, and it's a sort of hedge of sorts against the whole world going falling apart.”

Bitcoin continues to trade around $8000 this week as continued downward pressure from regulators, Google and Mt. Gox sell-offs unsettle markets.

How do you see it?
705  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will 2018 be better than 2017 for bitcoin on: March 16, 2018, 05:11:13 PM
2017 has being one of the phenomenal years for the people who had stayed invested till the last. It has given some of the unexpected rise during the last couple of months in 2017. Though the start of Jan 2018 was good the market kept moving up but during the later half the market started to sin and back to 10k levels at present.

How do you predict the 2018 year to be for bitcoin. Will it rise back like 2017 and if yes than what could lead to those rise and if no than what factors could be accounted for the downfall?

Yes. We will have growth but not soon. It may take a month or two. But from May the growth would be healthy recovering back to minimum $12K by end of May. It would have bit dump and pump in June as well. But from July the price would boom towards moon taking over $20K in between September to October. We may reach $25 plus in November or in December. Hope this ratio travels through. Analysed coinmarketcap and drafted the above.
706  Economy / Speculation / Re: When You Think Market Boom Again? on: March 16, 2018, 05:03:27 PM
So much speculation on this question. As beginning to end of 2017 Saw a Major Boom and increase in BTC and other Cryptos
Do you see this happening again? As large growth spurt again for BTC for 2018? or at least a steady long growth that could carry into 2019 again? or do you see things staying stabilized and just small growth?
maybe the day of Bitcoin millionaires are over?
thoughts on this?

No checkout coinmarkecap. On 2nd January 2017, the price was at $1025 and on 30 March 2017, the btc price was at $1020. In between the price went to $1057 and came back to $1020. Like wise, in 2018, on 1st January 2018 the price was at $13791 and on now its at $8500. A great loss of $5200 plus. Last year there was no growth in the first 3 months, but this year we had around $5000 plus loss.

But since we had a huge boom in December 2017, we feel it as a great loss here. But obviously, we are at a good stage. We are at 700 percentage growth compared to first quarter 2017. Hope the price travels from $8000 to $10000 unless and until there is no big pump.
707  Economy / Economics / Re: Working smart vs working hard (an ultimate guide) on: March 16, 2018, 04:52:04 PM
I would say that both are necessary for every human along with their Luck. I personally have undergone both smart work and hard work experiences under my career training programs. Here to be successful in life you need to be both a Hard worker and smart worker. My smart work made a good trader and while hardworking made me a good son and husband. In the struggling days of your life your hard work and smart work both should be put into play rather than being a lazy guy.

A good topic to draw too many to share. But is it going to help this forum. May or may not be. Still many would share the achievement behind hard work and smart work. Experts do say, both are required to have firm success. I have gained appreciation and awards back for working consistently extending timings to complete a task where smart work takes 30 percent. So both goes hand in hand to success.
708  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin recovering ? on: March 16, 2018, 04:18:07 PM
since january it was recovering and i think it was overrated and now its going back to normal price  as ithink  we need new 400 billion dollars to get bac kto 15-16 k

I don't think the price was over rated, BTC price shoot up due to increase in demand which created more volume for the industry. Hence pushing the price beyond its normal price. Currently market is showing no signs of recovered and it seem to remain down for the coming days also, one can hope that after march and one can expect market to gain some momentum and show proper signs of recovering.

The thread was created two years ago. I could see Sir Yahoo stating in a converse of deleting threads that had no replies for a long period. I can understand that this thread was back to live as current situation is related to the thread. Such threads can be looked upon if ok. Correction do come and go in crypto currencies. Its nature. One or the other day the value would recover back. Its taking bit long time this year. Hope to get back on track soon.
709  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-03-16] - BTC, ETH See Small Growth After Yesterday’s Fall To Monthly Lows on: March 16, 2018, 03:25:06 PM

https://cointelegraph.com/news/btc-eth-see-small-growth-after-yesterdays-fall-to-monthly-lows

After a drop in the crypto markets yesterday that brought Bitcoin’s (BTC) price down below $8,000 for the first time in over a month, the two biggest coins listed on Coin360, BTC and Ethereum (ETH) have seen slight growth today.

BTC is currently trading around $8,504, up around 2.90 percent over a 24 hour period by press time. ETH is up around one percent by press time, trading for around $617.

Ripple (XRP), which is ranked third on CoinMarketCap, is up by the smallest amount of the top three strongest coins. XRP is trading now for around $0.69, up 0.42 percent over a 24 hour period to press time.

How do you look at it? When the correction is going to end?
710  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Why Banks are attacking Bitcoin ? on: March 16, 2018, 03:18:39 PM
Day by day we are getting news like , this country reject bitcoin that country accept Bitcoin. Technically it stands a contrast perspective with the Central Bank and the economy of the country. But as I love BITCOIN , I pray Every single country will accept BITCOIN one day.

No Liabilities or debt with BITCOIN:

Bitcoin is a conveyor machine, meaning that there are no liabilities or debts associated with it. You can't get loan from it , or you can't get profit through interest.  If you hold it, it’s yours. And as such, there can be no run on a “bitcoin bank.” It's Independent.

Bitcoin is considered as Fiat Currency :
Of course you can assume,  holding bitcoin superior in many ways to holding fiat currency in a deposit account. Here Fiat currency are those which can not be backed by commodities . It has all the benefits without the risk of capital controls. Because of this, the growth of bitcoin is sucking value out of national currencies. The higher capital will rise the higher value it will get.

The Capital is really HUGE
I think there is now more than $70B worth of bitcoin sitting in bitcoin wallets. One thing to consider here , the asset is not under any management. So we can call it AUP (Asset Under Management ) , but we can call it Assets Under Protection (AUP). And here is where the risk to traditional banking resides. What does a world look like when a simple bitcoin wallet is indirectly protecting as much money as big giant companies , organizations like  Bank of America or Fargo etc.

Wallet Becomes Bank
At that point that wallet becomes a bank, Haha , a newer form of bank with decentralized function, with different rules, operations, and monetization policy.

The Last Reason-  PEOPLES LOVE BITCOIN
The real reason that banks should worry about People loves BITCOIN. People always love easy process, better stability and full control. All things are available in this case. Bitcoin actually threatens the bedrock policy  and business model of Banks. That's why Banks are attacking Bitcoin.

I am trying to write good article and trying to research more to build good article. Really dreaming to get first MERIT. Thanks you guys. (Forgive me for any mistake)
Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I agree with you. Banks attack for not only the reason you drafted above, but it includes the following. Business competition is another main point to look at. Crypto currencies are most welcomed and looked upon in the currency market. Investors are towards bitcoin and other crypto currencies. There seems to be less sharps being into local currencies. This decreases fiats revenue than bitcoin.
711  Economy / Economics / Re: Invest in BTC vs Invest in Real Estate? on: March 15, 2018, 07:19:19 PM
Bitcoin chart is going up and down some times I am thinking maybe I should invest part of my BTC (at least the part of the profit  I’ve made on crypto) into something real?!
Let’s say I can buy share of real estate company and get the part of profit (50-100% per Year).

Should I
Spend all my BTC on that shares?
                Spend small (profit) part?
Or just do nothing and wait?

Huh?!

I’ll do appreciate for answers with any suggestions and recommendations!

I would go with investing on BTC and investing the profits earned from bitcoin into other crypto currencies listed on top. You can choose, ETH, NEO, Mark, Dash, Litcecoin and of course Bitcoin. Real estate is not at its peak now. But you can yes obviously invest in Real Estate. The profit is for sure. But the profit is more when moving on o cryto currencies.
712  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-03-15]-Bankers Criticize Crypto, Always Goes Back to the Same Argument: on: March 15, 2018, 07:05:32 PM
https://cointelegraph.com/news/bankers-criticize-crypto-always-goes-back-to-the-same-argument-intrinsic-value

Finance experts in the traditional finance industry often attempt to discredit Blockchain projects and open-source cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. But, without solid logical arguments, a lot of baseless claims from the finance sector have proven to be ineffective.

In December 2017, Bruce Flatt, CEO at asset management company Brookfield, which is based in Canada and oversees around $250 bln in assets, stated:

“It [Bitcoin] has no intrinsic value. I don’t know what it is. But it has no intrinsic value in our definition of intrinsic value. If someone else wants to speculate on it or invest in it, it’s for them. It’s not for us.”

Banks Will never stop it argument?
713  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin correction? on: March 15, 2018, 06:55:16 PM
Hey bitcointalk, i want to ask proffesional players in cryptocurrency world opinion about bitcoin correction, is it going at least to 4k$?

bitcoin prices would not be possible for a correction below the $ 5k price because the suport buy bitcoin is very much at the price of $ 6-7k and it would be difficult to make the bitcoin price collapse up to that price.

Bitcoin correction takes place every year. The correction end up with a big hike. Hope this correction ends up very soon.  Recent sells of bitcoin from an exchange has caused this fall.  We could have this correction ending next week. Hope see a good spike in upcoming days.
714  Other / Meta / Re: Merit... For what?? on: March 15, 2018, 06:47:25 PM
Hi there!! Do you heard about merit??  What's it for??

Dude refer the earlier thread before posting such. We do have moderators posting reason on the new implementations. The expectation is getting quality posts from users and clean up shit/spam posts and posters in the from. It has been doing so fantastic. Each rank would be given smerits. The smerit differs to each rank.  Need to receive merits to rank up. Contribute quality posts.

716  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Buy bitcoin for someone else? on: March 15, 2018, 05:27:35 PM
Hi, Can some one advise

My friend wanted to invest in bitcoins He wanted to give me say £1000 from his bank and gave it to me in cash, If I was to say put the cash into  my bank and set up buying bitcoins from my online account would this be legal? , He has no knowledge on how to buy or trade them..

Thank you

There is no harm in it as long as the money being invested comes legal. At times, block money is converted in legal money by investing the block money into bitcoin. Even my friend yesterday approached me to get some bitcoin with his fiats he has. Bought from Localbitcoin.com . Guided him to track the value everyday and be updated.
717  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Government on legalising bitcoins on: March 15, 2018, 05:10:44 PM
I strongly think that government should legalise bitcoin, because it may become a great revenue source for the goverment by imposing taxes of more than 30% and it can develop our country in so many ways.

I wish this should happen soon. Lots of good things would happen when adapted. An authority seriously has to look at its benefits. Country's economic system would grow, citizen's lifestyle would get changed when they each work with crypto currency and employment would increase in the respected country. Wish and hope every government would legalize bitcoins and other crypto currencies.

719  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-03-15] - Australia Warns of Fake 'Tax Collectors' Demanding Bitcoin on: March 14, 2018, 11:52:16 PM
https://www.coindesk.com/australia-warns-fake-tax-collectors-demanding-bitcoin/

The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) issued a warning about would-be scammers trying to con people out of their cryptocurrency.

Since late last year, scammers have been calling Australians and impersonating the tax office, claiming that the victims owed funds in unpaid taxes, and asking them to pay in bitcoin. So far, more than 50,000 Australian dollars (about $39,400 in U.S. dollars) have been sent to the scammers, according to a press release from the office.

ATO assistant commissioner Kath Anderson said it was "inevitable that scammers would target cryptocurrency," noting its rise to prominence last year. She continued:

"Cryptocurrency operates in a virtual world, and once the scammers receive payment, it's virtually impossible to get it back."

A serious issue to be looked at?
