7001  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Hits $24,000 In Iran on: September 06, 2018, 08:10:21 AM
Bitcoin hits $24,000 in Iran after the Iranian Government okays mining. This will be great news for the citizens as a way of keeping the economy alive and avoiding the sanction from the USA. It is also boost bitcoin confidence. Link here
https://news.bitcoin.com/bitcoin-hits-24000-in-iran-after-government-okays-mining/

I had to use google to verify this news, and it seems that many local media publications have published this story. This situation has been caused due to the actions taken by USA, it's a logical decision Iran's currency is weakening against USD, bitcoins shall boost their economy.

It's also stated that the spike happened on few exchanges, which makes me feel it's a ploy by the exchanges to sell bitcoins at higher price.

This unusual price hike reminds of the time when Bitcoins were being sold in India for a premium, I don't think the price hike will last long though.

7002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 06, 2018, 03:48:04 AM
Wow. Nadal won in a thriller. They fought for almost 5 hours and won 7-6 (7-5) in the final set. Nadal started slow, quite unexpected of him,  but bounce back later and it was not easy, he was almost upset by Thiem here. But as tennis fans, we appreciate this kind of epic battle and sportsmanship at the end. Nadal vs del Potro next for the semis.

I always knew this would be a difficult match for both of them given the weather conditions, and the way we saw Roger exiting the tournament says a lot. I'll agree Nadal did had a slow start which got me concerned, but the way he fought back was marvellous.

These are the kind of matches that make you fall in love with this sport, I didn't realise where time flew but it was worth it. There was always an added incentive for Nadal, to beat Thiem as he was seeking revenge for the earlier defeat he had suffered at Theim hands.

I'm now waiting for the semi final showdown and my money is on Nadal winning it, I'm pretty sure he'll lift the cup if he continues to give performance like these.
7003  Other / Meta / Re: Help for heroes on: September 05, 2018, 02:57:13 PM
What do you think of the idea of having a 50 merit award project for Heroes? There are already lots of awards for members helping with forum stats, so I was thinking of something that would help members expand their interest in the Bitcoin economy. I'm a bit stumped over the project though. So many things are available already.

Well it's true there're many things but I feel if carefully implemented this idea has the potential to do good for the forum, and if the participating members get merits as an incentive I feel that's a fair deal for their efforts.

I'm trying to think of something that would justify the awarding of 50 merits, but I  can't

This is what I really like and why I felt this idea has the potential, because you are not trying to interpret things already done, all you need to consider is what will add more value to the forum, and which will justify the awarding of merits. I'm sure you'll figure it out good luck.
7004  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New type of scammers in telegram! Keep your bitcoins safe! Watch out! on: September 05, 2018, 11:46:00 AM
Be very careful of this new type of scammers in Telegram. They use the names and pictures of beautiful girls. The way they operate is that they show themselves in the telegram chat of whatever coin you are into. They don’t directly private message you, but they say something to call your attention or somebody else’s attention to start a conversation and eventually take the conversation private.

More in the following article:

https://medium.com/@TheGoldenOrder/stay-alert-for-this-new-type-of-scammers-in-telegram-6b970e240e8d

WATCH OUT FOR THIS TYPE OF SCAMMERS!

Spread the word, we need to protect ourselves from them!.

This is a typical scam that's been happening not only on telegram but on all social media sites, forums and most notably in the forms of emails, just open your spam box and there'll be hundreds of them wanting to meet you. There's no way to stop it, but follow a simple tried and tested rule, do not talk to strangers until you know them, or someone you know knows them. I'm sure many of us would have avoided this, but I'm sure many newbies would have fallen for it, so a good share.
7005  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS THE BEST HOUSE IN A TOUGH MARKET? on: September 05, 2018, 09:38:16 AM
That is why bitcoin is the most trustworthy and secure investment vehicle in the crypto space. There are lots of altcoins in the market but for me bitcoin is still the best bet of them all.
Many FUD spreading everywhere that bitcoin will be dead anytime soon but that's just too impossible to think of given the fact that bitcoin is slowly being adopted by the society and is going mainstream. With the bearish market that we experienced this year, bitcoin remained strong and the support of the community exhibited by bitcoin's performance in the market.

https://bitcoinist.com/tom-lee-bitcoin-best-house-tough-market/

Hey yes Bitcoins is definitely the best crypto that is available in the market, but do note bitcoins is not special because of it's price, it's special because of it's utility, for those who're not aware Bitcoins is the most secured decentralised coin. If you look over the period of time that alts were created, they were forked but not Bitcoins, some coins like bitcoins cash were burnt to create fake demand. The fud is and always going to be there, but for it's worth, the community now is wiser and stronger, we're already seeing prices moving upwards, soon a bull run should start.
7006  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What did you buy for money won? on: September 05, 2018, 07:28:49 AM
I usually save half of the money I win and invest them. I just let it increase or wait for its value to increase. Sometimes, I treat my family and/or my friends to food. I also spoil myself with stuff I couldn’t afford to buy before like neat shoes or trending gadgets.

Hey that's a smart strategy I'm following this too, I have made a financial plan, and with each saving I keep on diversifying my assets, normally in the past I considered stocks, bonds but now I have made more investments in bitcoins with a aim to reap more benefits. With my other half money, I spend one fourth on charity, as I always believe in giving back to the society, rest I buy gifts for my nieces and one or two gadgets or plan a trip for myself.
7007  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: September 05, 2018, 02:51:01 AM
We cannot blame Pitch for this Indian lost because Moeen Ali take 9 wickets and Ashwin also done good job all blame to Indian Battling line up as they completely fail to produce any good performance now time for Indian board to think about this before Australian tour because they are going to face same conditions if they want to win then surely have some good practice in seam wickets with some good and attacking battling line up not with these dead wickets battling line up

I'll agree with you contrary to fears team India would be facing pitch assisting seam bowlers, it didn't quite happen that way, these pitches were decent pitches. I feel entire blame lies on their famed batting line up, which meekly surrendered the match, they have one or two brilliant individuals, but as a team they're weak. I hope for the upcoming tour down under, team management decided to make several changes, if they wish to win there.
7008  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cut losses on: September 04, 2018, 02:51:35 PM
Cutlose will only make you lose and continue to lose. wait for the price to return to normal. ETH good coins and stable price movements. buy when the price is red and sell when the price is green, don't turn it over

I'll agree though I'm not a big fan of adding alts to one's portfolio, but since you have already added to your portfolio it's not wise then to sell. While it's naive to comare Eth with Bitcoins, yet Eth is one of those rare alts you can hold till you're able to sell at the right price. As you'll be seeing bitcoins prices are stabilising that will mena sooner or later alts will recover, I won't say they'll shoot through the roof but you should be able to reach your buying price and maybe some profits too.
7009  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: September 04, 2018, 09:54:57 AM
Very important win for Hamilton. In start he had collision with Vettel, Seb said that Lewis didn't left enough place for him, but I think that everything was ok in that episode. It's good for Seb that safety car was called then, he didn't wasted so much time and was able to recover many positions later.
Kimi had great chance to win today, but in last laps he just didn't had tyres anymore and Hamilton overtake him quite easily. But Ferarri had speed advantage today.
Ricciardo retired due to car problems again. I'm not surprised at all, it become common thing in recent races Sad
Next GP at Singapore after two weeks.
EDIT Grosjean who finnished 6th has ben disqualified:
https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/headlines/2018/9/grosjean-disqualified-from-italian-gp.html

It was another victory for Hamilton who made it seem so easy, even that crash didn't distract him from picking up the vital points, i don't see any reason why Mercedes won't win the championship, if Ferrari really wants to win again they should get Hamilton driving their cars, imagine Hamilton skills and Ferrari car speed, they'll be unbeatable.

@LTU_btc. In what year will Sebastian Vettel's contract in Ferrari end? I reckon he might need another extension to win a championship with them and before he transfers to Mercedes hehehehe.

I don't know the year, but chances are they might just end it post this season he's really been underperforming since quite a while.
7010  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE - 🎲🎲🎲 Treasure Chest Is Back! 🎰🎰🎰 on: September 04, 2018, 08:24:46 AM
Snip

I'll bring the news over here once I have everything confirmed.

Ah okay so fair enough, now that I've read all the comments against poker. I don't really agree about competition, I think it's good and competition is better for everyone BUT I do agree most of all with the part about the difficulty to monitor all the cheaters and unfair play on poker. That will be so difficult it's not worth it, which is impossible to game with sportsbooks.

So good decision in the end.

Hey competition is always good, but competing for poker without have a niche audience of poker is not a wise idea, like they say don't bring a knife in a gun war. I'm looking forward when the new announcements will come, also are new games to going to be added along with sports bet?. I'm really curious to see the new look, and those graphics which come along with the upgrade.
7011  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling related law in India on: September 04, 2018, 02:22:46 AM
As per a recent article online:

https://medium.com/@cryptokanoon/law-commission-of-india-treats-crypto-currency-at-par-with-other-recognized-electronic-means-of-4ec662183b7e

Trend of online gambling with crypto in India is on continuous rise. What is your opinion about this ?

As i know any kind of gambling are prohibited to all Indian people it's against in their religion
In my opinion crypto gambling are difficult to banned if people they want to play gamlbling
meaning nobody  can stop people freedom to choose their happiness

Gambling of any form is banned in India but that is not because of the religions. There are indeed few religions where gambling is totally banned and considered as a sin, but that's not all. There are other socio-political issues which made the gambling prohibited in India. But yes, crypto gambling or online gambling can't be banned in India because of its nature. Even offline gambling on various sports is very much popular in India and people spend billions on gambling here. But due to the legal prohibition, government is not getting any benefit out of it! That is the reason why Law commission of India proposed to legalized gambling! At least government will earn something out of it!

Hey the last time in I was in India, I was informed your country does not allow bets on sports, it's considered criminal offence there, and then I visited Goa and went for a derby, and I gambled at both places. It seems gambling has always been going on unregulated, now they're keen on regulating it which will make sense, if you see from government point of view, they'll get revenue. I don't think that it's banned due to religious sentiments, government will secure it's revenue first, though at this point how will they deal with all people in jail for gambling, this shall be interesting don't you think?.
7012  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just got a little extra money and want to invest in crypto, should I? on: September 03, 2018, 05:08:43 PM
Hi I just got some extra money and I'm looking to invest, I want to invest in BTC but the price is too high for me,  what do you think will be the next BTC
one you can buy low and make a good profit when it burst?

Hey you should invest in bitcoins only, current valuations are cheap, and it has potential to grow up only. If you had researched about Bitcoins history you would have known it touched as high as 20k. As you can there is potential for growth, and we're seeing upward movement these days so I feel it's a good time for you to purchase. Another reason why I don't suggest Alts, is when they'll crash their recovery takes ages, but Bitcoins will rise soon enough.
7013  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin mastercard on: September 03, 2018, 02:18:56 PM
IS this possible to make bitcoin mastercard.
Mastercard is very helpfull for giving payment.
We can carry it in anywhere.
Is this possible world wide it will show his power.

ITS JUST MY OPINION.

Well it can be done, but you should not do it, as this will defy bitcoins main purpose of existence i.e. freedom from centralised organisations. If you were to make a Visa card, you would basically hand over the control of bitcoins over a centralised organisation what good would that do to you, well it's true you can carry your card anywhere, but same is true in the case of bitcoins.

Also there were some people who have tried it, but they have spectacularly failed, and those who brought it were scammed too, think twice before you ever buy or consider this.
7014  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela Wants to Launch a Central Bank for Cryptocurrencies on: September 03, 2018, 11:07:44 AM
They just keep coming up with awful ideas which will most likely end up being failures. First, the Petro, a cryptocurrency that no one uses, has no legitimacy, and was clasified as a "scam" by a lot crypto sites [1], and now a central back for cryptos? Terrible idea.

Another crazy idea or does the idea have potential?
Do you even need to ask that question?

A country that's going through its worst economic crisis in its history, with a dictatoship that doesn't care the hyperinflation might reach 1 million percent by the of the year [2], wants to create a central bank for cryptocurrencies (which is the last thing cryptos want, a central bank system) because the govt wants to have more control over its citizens...No, I don't think this idea has potential.

Tbh, a central back for cryptos is the last thing the citizens of Venezuela need, they need food, electricty, medicines, etc.

1. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-04-03/crypto-rating-sites-are-already-calling-venezuela-s-petro-a-scam
2. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/jul/24/venezuela-inflation-million-percent-imf-warning

I'll second this it keeps getting worst and worst for them, there was no clarity in launching and running petro, and it was only a matter of time before it was dubbed scam. I am surprised they're focusing on launching a central bank for cryptos, when their top priority should be tackling the menace of inflation, at this current rate they're looking for a total economic disaster, and recovering from it might be really difficult. I see no merit in this idea, hopefully they won't pursue it.
7015  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Security on: September 03, 2018, 08:09:13 AM
Hi All

What do you use for your bitcoin security, I have been looking into usb style password protectors, but don't know enough about them as to the trust that I should place in them.

Has anyone bought them and would you recommend them?

Many thanks

Airdrop291

I am not using anything as Bitcoins is secured enough, and I have stored them in a safe wallet, I usually update my passwords often. I do not use a exchange hence I'm not concerned, about recent hacks, as it's often staged by the people working at exchanges. Well I would suggest you to, store it in a secure wallet, make sure you never share your keys, pin or seed with anyone, also make sure not to use it on a public wifi, or a virus infected device.

No I haven't brought them, and have no intention to buy them either just follow the suggestions I have said above and you should be able to secure your coins.
7016  Economy / Economics / Re: Friends reactions to crypto currencies? on: September 03, 2018, 02:55:21 AM
I was questioned on crypto currencies legalization. I explained the facts happening around. Few received it with convincing reactions and few just ignored it. I really felt bad for the guys who did not care about crypto currencies as I really know the fruitfulness? I happily taught few others about crypto currencies. What was your friends expression when you introduced bitcoin to them?

Hey that's a common reaction from friends and people you meet, initially you'll feel guilty at not being able to convince people to get into cryptos, later on you'll happily ignore them. When I initially explained it to my friends i got mixed reactions, some wanted to get in big, some completely wanted to avoid it. I helped all I could, others I decided to leave out and move on. Today however everyone chases me for advice, this too shall happen to you.
7017  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: September 02, 2018, 05:52:16 PM
Well looks like Manchester Untied are going to turn their forum around now. 15 minutes played in the second half and they're up 2-0. Would be a shocker if Burnley managed to pull it back from that. Watford and currently holding Spurs to 0-0 stalemate and I expected that one to be close, especially with Watford's recent form.

Looks like I spoke too soon. Spurs scored and then Watford got an equalizer.

Man United just missed a penalty as well.

Well looks like Mourinho has found his way to save his job and salvage some reputation, it was a decent performance from Manchester United players, but Pogba penalty miss would surely have upset mourinho. I feel Sanchez and Shaw are finally coming to thier true form, but they need help from other team members.

^  And a red card for Rashford for a sorta headbutt.  Lol.

It was a stupid move and mourinho won't be pleased at all, already rashford is under performing this shall do him no good.
7018  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is the Future of Bitcoin In 2019? on: September 02, 2018, 09:31:23 AM
There are a common question every where .........

What is future of bitcoin? what is future of bitcoin?

I am following bitcoin since 2016 but till now i do not understand its nature.I have few questions to community.

Do you currently hold Bitcoin and are wondering what’s going to happen its price in the near future, what is the Bitcoin price prediction 2019? Or  whether it’s a good investment or not over the long term?

I have some confusion about bitcoin.

Whats your opinion?Hope i will get a correct solution from community.

Hey no one can predict bitcoins future with an absolute certainty, all one can do is look at the charts see how it behaved at this particular time of the year. If you're following bitcoins prices since the year 2016, you would have seen how it rose due to positive news, bitcoins future being approved and high public sentiments, however lately a lot of fud came in and the prices went down. I'm holding my coins, and I believe I'll be rewarded in the long run, even at current prices, I would say the prices are affordable and under valued, you should definitely consider investing in it, buy at every dip and make a average of your holdings.
7019  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2016/17 on: September 02, 2018, 04:54:28 AM
Atletico Madrid just lost to Celta 2:0. Also, one goal of Celta was canceled after VAR review. Atletico already lost 4 points in just 3 games. If they are dreaming about La liga title, they don't have right to waste points like they are doing now.
And I'm wondering why this thread become very quiet. Just because that Ronaldo left Real, lol?

It was indeed a poor performance from Atletico, considering the fact grizeman stayed back and Costa is fit. If they continue delivering such poor performances, then I don't think they're genuine title contenders. I don't think Ronaldo departure has effected Real Madrid form or this thread, infact Bale and Benzema have revelled after he left, in particular it's benzema I'm surprised, he's scored so many goals.
7020  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How well do you understand Bitcoin Investment? on: September 01, 2018, 05:44:24 PM
For the past months now, I have been studying and monitoring the Bitcoin trading market. I realized that, Bitcoin investment shouldn't necessarily be a long-term one (you buy bitcoin and hold it till the price double or triple). It is very possible to make about 0.35 to 1% of profit on an average within two to three hours if you carefully study or monitor and understand the trading trends. If you agree with me, share your thoughts on this. If you also disagree, i will appreciate your reasons and thoughts.... Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool

No I would never suggest this or encourage this kind of trading activity especially in bitcoins, which has shown to be highly volatile. There're chances you may make few dollars, but get it wrong and you'll be loosing lot of money. I again completely disagree that you can make up to 1% in 3 hours of trade, one bad news or a dump can ruin your life, and when you get 100% returns in the long term, why take the risk for 1 %?.
