7061  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Be careful, bitcoin will correct on: December 15, 2017, 03:18:07 AM
If not now, eventually.

The price is over inflated, that value has to come from somewhere. The overall economies don't just create value out of nowhere, they move it around.
If the market swells so as we have learnt from the past there will always be a correction to find market equilibrium.
Thanks for the warning, we are all aware that eventually, correction will happen. Corrections is just normal in any market and crypto's is no exception. It needs to adjust itself for it's overvaluation. Lately, we see the price goes to another level and sometimes it's really hard to understand why people are still buying at this rate, because sooner or later, it will go down and those who bought it at the top (highest price), will be trap.

I'm warning you now, as a friend. Don't be caught out when it corrects.
Draw down your stake. Leave some in it if you really want but trust be its better to be safe than sorry as it will correct and when it does if you're not prepared you will loss heavily.
I'm prepared and ready. And you are not the first one to really give us this fair warning. Although I hope that you have really a good intention for giving the community a fair warning. Because other's may see this as just another way of creating FUD around which we don't like because it causes panic specially to newbies.

Bitcoin has helped to spread wealth to those who believe in and support new technology. It is time to take that money and invest it in developments elsewhere while we still have the chance.
We will cash out, but most of us, will still keep the money back to the ecosystem and will be buying it at a lower price when the correction happens. I cannot think of any investment right now that can give you back the amount of financial win that bitcoin or crypto's can give you. So why invest in others instruments?
7062  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-12-15] South Korea Pushes Ripple Price Up 71%, as Japanese Banks Conduct P on: December 15, 2017, 12:30:27 AM
OK. So this is one of the positive news that push Ripple to suddenly have a good jump in prices. To be honest, I was shocked to see Ripple on the #3 stop on coinmarketcap, astonishing 79% increased. Never seen any coins that quickly pump like that, except for shitcoins who will all know are just there for the all knowing pump-dump scheme.

Asian market is really the prime movers of crypto's. And it looks like they really making good decisions and selecting coins that has the potential to improved banks business model and to make like easier not only for them as well as their customers.

Its not all pump-dump now for the top coins, there's rationale behind all of the price increase today. Of course investors will still ride the waves to take profit whenever they can, but at least the prices is not artificially growing and not misleading the public on why the price is boosting and going to the moon.
7063  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: THE WOLF OF WALL STREET explains why bitcoin is a bubble on: December 14, 2017, 06:10:06 AM
Jordan Belfort aka wolf of wall street had an interview on CNN where he was talking about why bitcoin and all the cryptocurrency are just a bubble that is gonna burst and warned everyone of the risk of investing in it. the video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsaU4-AUW2Y

Yet another stock market giant after warren buffet and JP morgan exclaiming that bitcoin is a bubble. The interview itself is based on unlogical explanations. These stock market giants are just afraid that the world would move towards a crypto society where they aren't really the big whales any more so they resist change.
I don't think that he is a stock market giant as Warren Buffett though. Speaking of Warren, did you just know that Crypto world is already worth more than his Berkshire? Amazing run.

Don't you think they can easily be big whales themselves ? considering how much money they have . They have the option to buy loads of btc and just hold . I really think bitcoin is going somehow to crash , not sure if it will be able to recover but the cryptocurrency market itself is going to be the future of currencies without a doubt.
It's possible. We don't know what made him talk about bitcoin specially lately that we have seen him attacking bitcoin. It could be that he want the price to go down deep and then purchase large quantity. Whales really want to create this stuff, by behind those bashes are intentions to buy back bitcoin at a discounted price.

Another paid guy who wants to discredit crypto currency. Afraid of liquidating his positions in stock market.  Wakeup guys, crypto currency is the future of the world's currency.

give the dude about 12-18 months. when we hear from him next he'll be launching his ico and crypto is now the greatest thing ever. presumably he'll be doing it through a 'rathole' to avoid having to pay back his creditors.
LOL. That will be really funny. I assume he just missed the boat and didn't invest in crypto's. Remember Mark Cuban? He used to be anti-bitcoin but look at him now, he suddenly chance his stance and I'm sure that he already investment in bitcoin. They all said that its a bubble, but they can't really stop it, so they just joined the bandwagon and ride the waves.
7064  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin on: December 14, 2017, 05:30:28 AM
Hey! i dont think that bitcoin will fall down below 12000$. Should happen some kind of serious event that will cause bitcoin lost value. But all news now are positive for bitcoin, so in future time it will goes up. May be we will see 20k $ soon. may be even till 2018.

I am agree with you mate, bitcoin value will hit 20k$ in 2018 will brings good profit for the bitcoin holders.

At the strong current value of bitcoin i dont think it will fall too much down to 13000$ mark before this year end, there are lots of people are now continue to adopt bitcoin and it helps to make bitcoin value increasing and stay at the highest level.

We have a couple of days to buy bitcoin and i want to invest for short term for only 15 days and i am hoping that my decision would gives me profit.
From my view, it's gonna be very hard for us to cross $20K at the end of the year. I suppose when all this financial institutions came into picture, I noticed that we have less and decrease volatility. That's why the prices just keeps hovering in the $16K-17K in my opinion. To really push the price to $20K. Investors will really need to flock anew and flood the market with their cash. So I don't know if those financial institutions greatly bring positive effect on us or not.

Do you think Bitcoin will be down more? Now price 13708.00 ...  Huh

The price now is at 16k again so, it can only down for a certain period of time and recover again faster. This happen for about every other day that’s why it looks normal to all that has been in bitcoin for a while like me. So take a big breath at the dip and don’t look too much on the price chart for your own good that’s the only thing I can advice if this happen again.
This has been the price is last couple of days, although it's not going down, its not increasing as well as we expected to cross $20K at the end of the year. Well, CME will have the change now and see it this can push the price even further, but I wouldn't be surprise if they didn't. Looks like to me that the speculation around CME is already price in. I'm very bullish and positive but there's something I really saw when they all join in. Bitcoin price being quite stable is very surprising.
7065  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH price going crazy on: December 14, 2017, 04:52:18 AM
I really wish someone who can stop it, i convert all my eth to altcoins and suffer a big loss if eth price keep on rocketing
Sorry for your lost mate, but no one can really stop Ethereum going to the right now. I also lost as well when I convert some just a few weeks ago. Sad

I believe Ethereum is a undervalued coin. Right now, it has been increasing for some time. We may see a big increase in its price in 2018.
I believed so. Being the second top coins it should be valued as closed to $2K by now. But it seems to be having a hard time even breaking 4 digits. But it has a big probability to get it there if this upward trend will keep on. We have never seen Ethereum being push like this and it seems it still has more leg room to reach $1k.

the rise in eth is caused by the rise of BTC because already many investors are investing in bitcoin and now get to Etherium that will get to the price of 1500 $ in 2018 later so we wait for the increase of etherium
I didnt think ETH could actually grow. Well it is the second most valuable cryptocurrency though im doubting it will rise that far a bitcoin does. Just my opinion though.
There are a lot of reasons that Ethereum is growing today. One main driver of it is the UBS announcement of Ethereum based initiative.

Quote
Ethereum, the number two digital currency by market capitalization, topped $600 today to set a new all time high. According to CNBC, the surge comes as UBS announced they will head an Ethereum-based Blockchain initiative along with Barclay’s, Credit Suisse, KBC, Swiss stock exchange SIX and Thomson Reuters. The initiative is designed to help these companies comply with new European Union trade data standards that go into effect in 2018.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/ethereum-surges-past-600-on-ubs-announcement-of-ethereum-based-initiative

This is really a big news for Ethereum. This should have happened years back because this coin has more features to offer as compare to bitcoin. But it looks like a lot of companies now has seen what smart contracts and Dapps can really do if they implemented it. So I'm betting that not only bitcoin but altcoins markets will bloom and expand in 2018.

I have lost more tokens at myetherwallet than the banksters have taken from my bank account. one would think myetherwallet would have better security system. I am finding the trading platforms are a much better secure place to store cryptos. Lets hope something better than myetherwallet evolves in the near future.
Oh please. myetherwallet has given us enough warnings about phishing attempts. So don't put the blame on MEW because you lost all your tokens. Go 2 steps behind and see how you secure your wallets, Private Keys and Password. So should know better that clicking anything on the web right or opening something on your email with untrusted source is the worse that you can do because of all the phishing going on.

I think there are no problem in myetherwallet. I am using myetherwallet as my coin base wallet but I didn't encounter any problem using it. If someone got havked and get thier wallet emptied ,then its the users fault for improper handling of his/her private key. Because MEW always and always warned you to keep your private key on yourself because you and only you are responsible for your own security and myetherwallet would not hold your private key for you.
Right, each one of us has the responsibility on protecting our wallet. I also been using it for quite sometime now and I'm very careful opening it. Maybe the OP didn't bookmark it and most likely he type a phishing website. We are all accountable for all of our actions. It's not MEW shortcomings, blame ourselves if we lost because we didn't safe guard our wallets.
7067  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin now slowly drop should i sell? on: December 14, 2017, 12:50:02 AM
I think it's a bad strategy to sell when it drops. May be just a trap  Wink
That's not a trap, it's the phenomenal process. We're responsible to make use of the same, because the growth is massive. When we sell when price is decreasing it's loss, and I prefer holding with patience till price increases once again.
You can't really say for certain that is not a trap as people suggested because historically it happens multiple times already. Used common sense, its your discretion to sell or not during dips. No one can force you to do it.

Everyone was shock on the price of bitcoin now but i guess don't panic just stay your bitcoin in you and wait ti increase the price of bitcoin before you sell it. Just a advice
Right. This is an excellent suggestion. Don't sell during panic because you will just lose. Just take it easy and just take a mental note of what is going on. You might regret your decision later when the price improved later. Contrastingly, dips in the best time to get it. A perfect buying point. That's how a successful investors thinks.

It would be your decision to make, if you really want the money you can sell, that if you have gain enough profit when you start investing in it. But for me it is better to hold so that you will gain more profit because i think the price of bitcoin will still increase by the end of the year.
Correct. HODL during price correction. Look at in long term and ask yourself if you are willing to take less profit today, or better financial gain in the future. The  choice is pretty obvious.

Currently bitcoin is worth $ 17000 on coinmarketcap. This is a very large number, so you can completely sell bitcoin at this time. But I think the bitcoin will continue to increase in the next time and the next milestone is 25000 USD. If you want to profit much you can completely keep the bitcoin.
It really depends where are you looking at. I'm seeing $163xx on my end. Maybe that's why people thinks that the price is going down. Personally, $16K-$17K is steady price isn't it? So no need to panic and sell your bitcoins.
7068  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto winter is coming again … on: December 14, 2017, 12:13:12 AM
Looking back at this thread after a month makes me laugh about this so called crypto winter. Its only shows that this market is really based on pure speculation and no one can tell with absolute what will happen to the ecosystem. Bearish and Bullish really can't get all along. LOL.

We all know for a fact, that this kind of upward trend is not sustainable long term, minor hiccups could be seen. However, I can't seems to comprehend while people needed to open a thread with all this doomsday prediction about bitcoin. What's their main goal? Create FUD? or just warn ordinary investors like me?  Smiley

Crypto winter didn't arrived yet, but when it comes, I'm sure that all of us has plan B for it, because we all know that this market is very volatile than at any day now, it could crash. But if you are well prepared, then nothing to worry about, I suppose.
7069  Economy / Economics / Re: popularity of bitcoin dictates demand, means more profit on: December 13, 2017, 03:41:29 PM
Mostly speculation. People want to buy Bitcoin with any price and sold them much higher price. However when they do it investors will earn more profit.
Of course this market is based on speculation. And don't forgot FOMO as well. LOL. They are real. Demand is growing because everyone really wants to join the hype train. They don't want to miss the opportunity to earn. However, sometimes when you look at it, it's somewhat irrational specially buying at a price of $17K, makes you think that those buyers are really not making the correction decisions.

in my opinion, this is what happening right now as the trend of bitcoin price has been sky rocketing.  what do you think affects the price increase of bitcoin today?
Now that investment institutional is supporting bitcoin, demand is very high more than ever. CBOE already fired the first shot and soon CME will also join the movement. From my own point of view, this is what really driving this price of bitcoin reaching new levels. And this will carry on up to next year, where Nasdaq turns to offer it bitcoin future contracts. So demands=high price=profits.
7070  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In 2018 Bitcoin Cash price will overcome Bitcoin's value on: December 13, 2017, 10:56:39 AM
There's a 50/50 chance that Bitcoin Cash will overcome bitcoin, it can only happened if people gets tired of the ridiculous fees that we are incurring whenever we do bitcoin transactions. Lest to say, when bitcoin becomes unusable and only being used to store your wealth or hedge against the devaluation of their local currencies.

However, the community and Bitcoin Cash start off with the wrong foot, so its gonna be a big obstacle for Bitcoin hard core to just shift their funds to Bitcoin Cash. So its not gaining traction except for few pump-and-dump specially what we have witnessed back in November.

So its really hard to tell. Unless the scaling issue in Bitcoin will be resolved, like implementing LN as side chains, there might be a day when we all gonna see that Bitcoin Cash has somewhat the same of even have greater value than Bitcoin.
7071  Economy / Speculation / Re: YOU ARE ALL STUPID - SELL NOW on: December 13, 2017, 08:11:30 AM
Good God, I've had enough. You will all lose your shirts when bitcoin hits the markets. You are not smarter than the big boys that run the financial industry.

SELL NOW YOU BLIND SHEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lol at you guys. Just give him a break, its his opinion anyways.

But seriously, This is one of the funniest thread I have ever seen. Someone advises us to sell because of the big boys. We understand how they works, they manipulate the price from behind and if you are too weak, then you will be lost at the sea. But if you know what you are doing, then you can ride with them.

I hope that anyone who has read didn't fall for the trap. It you sell and cash it out because you want to see and get your profit and reward, that is OK. But if you sell because you believed what the OP is saying, then you are much worse than him.  Grin. And btw, we all see the corrections coming from afar, no need to shout. LOL. Financial institutions have someone make the market less volatile now. And the best part of it, we are not selling as per your advise.
7072  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: About Tokens ? on: December 12, 2017, 04:06:38 PM
Can anyone explain the mechanism of token conversion intro ETH or any other currency??
am not getting it.
For example I have written blogs for any campaign, after ending of campaign they will send token to my ETH address, and I can use that token as a ETH from my ETH wallet, Am I right ?
How value of token is determined? By token sale (how many token sold during bounty) or any other thing ?? What are those things if it depends on other things.

Token price/value will remain same after ICO end or it varies time to time Huh
Usually bounties that are paying in tokens will requires your MEW - which supports ERC 20 tokens. But you need to setup and add custom token. Then you need to enter the address of the token contract, token symbol, and number of decimal places. It should be provided by the bounties manager in order to received their tokens.

So once you received it, you can deposit the tokens to a exchange that supports it, again, check the thread or ask the bounty manager for specifics.

As for the price, it really depends on how much funds the project has raised. I want you to read this articles to better understand how does ICO works and how token rewards are calculated although this might not be applicable to all ICO's, but its a good read for those who wants to get a glimpse on ICO.

How Does an ICO work
7073  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: myetherwallet on: December 12, 2017, 03:19:19 PM
more informations please how do you do know fisher?
Pishers are site that are created by pishers(someone who developed such site or we may call hackers). This sites are mimicry of MEW it means that its a fake replica, a fake copy and a fake duplicate of Myetherwallet. These site are used to scam people, to hacked someone and to get your private keys.
You can easily determine a site that are pishing site by simple checking the url of such site because they may appear like these
mytherwallet.com
myethrewallet.com
myętherwallet.com
myėtherwallet.com
As you can see at these sites they may appear the same as the original but if you take a closer look its different. So becarefull and be informed by these sites they already been a thousand victims of it.
Also beware of some notification email that notify you that your account has been open on different IP and they are giving you a site of a pishing site where most users have been fooled so beware of it.
Its Phisher or Phishing - is the attempt to obtain sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details (and money), often for malicious reasons, by disguising as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phishing

But I like the sites that you provided above, which mimics the original, that's why I bookmark ( https://www.myetherwallet.com/ ) so that I don't need to enter and give those hackers or phisher a chance to stole my ETH or Tokens on my wallet. MEW already provided enough notifications to each user not to get phished. So everyone has to really protect and check everything before opening and putting our private keys.

And its really sad to read someone becoming a victims because we can't do anything once they have stole from you. And we can't really emphasized more that its our responsibility to safeguard and protect our coins not just in MEW but on other cryptocurrency wallet. Due diligence is needed.
7074  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is bitcoin dangerous ? on: December 12, 2017, 02:48:28 PM
I'm wondering why bitcoin was made if there are too many currencies in each country, why would anyone add or make a type of currency in the internet? For easier and faster transactions or so ?
I suggest you read Satoshi's White Paper to truly understand why bitcoin is made. And what's its purpose.

https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf

Satoshi wants a system that you can used or transact without any middleman, without trusted third party That's why bitcoin is P2P (Peer-to-Peer), and non-reversible transaction. So you are your own bank. So bitcoin is not dangerous in a sense, because you don't need third party like banks to be able to pay someone in the other side of the world.

Bitcoin dangerous? Obviously it was designed not to, however, criminals has exploited it features and began to used it on their illegal activities, like drugs and hackers and scammers take advantage of it to steal from unsuspecting victims.
7075  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Signature campaigns on: December 11, 2017, 05:44:43 AM
Reading this, I guess I'm very lucky to found Newbie signature campaign with BTC payment..

I believe they are still open for jr. members, so if you are interested take a look:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2494912

Signature campaign is no doubt one of the best ways of making money. The best thing about signature campaign is that it is an open forum for all of us. We can make money quite comfortably by joining any sort of signature campaign. In addition to this, we don’t need to have any kind of capital just like we need in case of trading or holding of bitcoins. We can earn a handsome amount of money simply by becoming a part of this forum.
No doubt mate. But the problem now is that a lot of Signature campaigns are very strict. Its either you have a good post before the campaign manager accepts you, or you will be denied because of shitposting. With the increasing price of bitcoin today, a lot of people thinks this forum is a good way for them to earn good money by just shitposting the hell to get their post count. Look at just how threads are being opened by newbies.

Signature campaigns for me is a privilege, think of it as a job, you have to work very hard to earn and perform. Sadly, other see's it as a opportunity to earn quick money that sometimes they try to abuse and shitpost and when the manager and other members report them, their dreams are shattered. This is not what the forum was design, it was put to share knowledge amongst us who are all crypto enthusiast.
7076  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Hot on: December 11, 2017, 05:05:48 AM
As long as you know to not invest your money into this thing then all will be fine, I don't like useless forks but am not that bothered. Can't really see most of them succeed.
It is just a matter of taking the free tokens and trading them into something else.
The forking does not seem to affect bitcoin itself and as said it may in the end become a pointless excersize because of no adoption
This. All we care is to get all this airdrop and then BOOM drop it like its HOT and take the profit to buy more bitcoin. I also don't care what's will all the fork that going on. But if we are all gonna get free coins, then why not? All this so called "variants' of bitcoin will not live that long. We all know that what they really want is to pump it, bring some newbies to it and then dump it hard. And those newcomers are now trap and can't get out without risking a lost. So just be careful and not fall for it.

http://bithot.org/

what's this? What's up with ppl forking out non stop and ridiculous stuff like this?

i mean, it's around 200+ blocks away and their targetted 12-12-17 fork but they dont have wallet, mining pool or exchange confirmed.

what's wrong with this ppl? Angry

Just checked the website and details for it. Looks like they are going to give away 1:100 ratio of the BTC:BitcoinHot. The prices would be pretty good and best opportunity for those free goodie seeker who are always there to get ready for such free stuff. The give away is similar to other forks and no official date is yet published. The wallet and exchangers are not listed yet but they are claiming that it can be brought to any exchanger once it is official. So I think we don't have to worry about our bitcoin and as per the experience from last dozens of Bitcoin fork this will also be same coin with all the hypes and sucks everywhere. No target and nothing it is juts another bullshit thats all I know.
1:100 are they crazy or what? Is this some kind of advertisement so that a lot of investors would patronize this coins? It they don't have a wallet and the coins can be trade, then its just another token, nothing else. Yeah, all hype but sucks in the end. But let us give them their 5 minutes of fame, that's all what they are asking anyways. Grin

7078  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Not all campaigns earn profit? What factors determine successful campaigns on: December 11, 2017, 03:31:18 AM
Is this true? Campaigns does not guarantee profit? Can you share your knowledge and experience? And also, I would like to know the factors that should be look upon to see if the campaign will be a successful one?
Again, another newbie questions that is not clear.

Since you are here in the forum, I would assume that you are referring to signature campaign or bounty program in both bitcoin and altcoin section. As far as knowledge and experience, you just need to joined a campaign and follow the rules to see that you get paid. So it obvious that you are guarantee a profit weekly/month depending on which campaigns you joined. Some of them gives a good payout and even a bonus, while others will be basing based on the raised amount during Pre-ICO, and offer Tokens as payment.

As far as what factors, we can't really tell, if the campaigns reach a large audience, waking the interest of most members here specially if your project is gambling related, or just plain ICO who's target is all crypto lovers. If I may add, I think the best tool to really get the word out regarding your project should also include social media campaigns as well.
7079  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I found that many virtual currencies are falling in these days. Is this a normal on: December 11, 2017, 02:53:40 AM
I am a newbie and have just come to this area. I bought some virtual currency, but these days they are falling, probably I do not have enough experience, this situation is very puzzled. I do not know if this is normal or not. I hope so. Why did such a collective fall come about? I hope everyone can give me some answers, talk about your views, this will be very helpful to me, thank you for your reply.
First off, welcome to the world of crypto. May I know what you invest in crypto in the first place? I just want to know the reasons so that we can give you the right answer that you are looking for. If you just say that you come in and bought it without doing any homework then why are asking this questions? You should have at least study crypto's and if you did I'm sure that you know the answer to your questions by now.

Are you here thinking that you will get rich quick? If yes, then this is not the perfect place for you, I'm sorry to burst the bubble.

I think I should know more about the blockchain so it's not easy to get puzzled in the deal. I have purchased some books on this subject and I will read them carefully and I think it is a very good way of understanding the virtual currency.
Is there any way I can better understand the virtual currency?
I will be very willing to learn, waiting for your answer, thank you!
Why would you want to know about blockchain? Blockchain is just the underlying technology behind bitcoin. No need to deal with them unless you are going to be developer. But from the looks of it, you aren't. No need to buy books, all knowledge based is here already. You just have to explore this forum and you will get the answers that you are looking for.

After 3 long days my btc finally showed up in my wallet hope everyone else has better news as well.
Network is very congested in the last couple of days, because of the recent price surge. This is always the case when bitcoin reaches all-time-high. Many people keeps cashing it out, I think it peak at more than 217K unconfirmed transactions then slowly going down to 170K. And now its down do 104K, more than cut in half that's why our transactions are coming in. Hell, even I got a struck transaction for 3 days as well. Unfortunately, I can't cash it out because I have lost a significant returns. Will wait they the price gets to at least 18K once again. Grin

Even some campaign payments also have some issues resulting to a lot of participants complaining. But we can't do anything about it for now, not at least if Lighting Network is not yet activated, It's been test I believed, and at least this sidechains will make a significant improvement on the slow tx confirmation. Let's see if they can implement it this year or early 2018 to try to alleviate this network congestion.
