7081  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tesla accepting Bitcoin payments and ..... Doge ? on: November 13, 2021, 12:52:49 AM
So it does look like Tesla is still working on their crypto payment system.  I was surprised to see they updated the code on the page once this tweet was made.  I figured this was just hangover stuff from when they were playing around with accepting crypto.  It seems like maybe they're getting ready to open the floodgates again.  Hopefully just in time for the perfect December storm we see every 4 years.

I think the Doge stuff is a stunt and I couldn't care less about it, but I'd like to see Bitcoin being accepted.  In fact, I'd probably buy a model 3 next month if it were accepted (not that I'd get it anytime soon).

Never seen so much sympathy for an antifa scumbag and a convicted pedophile

It is interesting how the anti-conservatives seem to always be taking the side of pedophiles and other mentally ill individuals.  I recently saw a statistic that showed more than half of white liberal women between the age of 19-29 have been diagnosed with a mental illness.  It is the highest risk group.  If you are a liberal white woman between the age of 19-29 the odds are that you are mentally ill.  If you aren't mentally ill, you have beaten the odds...  I think a lot of people should keep this in mind when seeing responses from certain members of this community who fit this demographic to a T.

Warriors are going to host the red-hot Chicago Bulls.

What do you think about this game, will the Bulls finally give the streaking GSW a real challenge and beat them on their home court?

No Vucevic for the Bulls but they have DeRozan and Lavine.

Yeah, they have DeRozan and Lavine, but who's going to stop Steph on GSW? Or Jordan Poole or Wiggins?

It will be close for sure, but usually GSW pulls away in the 3rd quarter and then knows how to hold on their lead in the 4th quarter despite teams trying to come back.

So for me it's going to be GSW against the Bulls in this game.

Don't forget about Lonzo Ball.  The dude is a beast on defense.  I have been looking forward to this matchup all week.  The Bulls and Warriors are easily two of the hottest teams in the league right now.  I think the Warriors being down Klay and Wiseman gives the advantage to the Bulls, but Steph has been lighting up the scoreboard lately.  If he gets hot, it's tough for any team to stop.  I'll be watching, on ESPN tonight I believe.  I don't think I'll be placing any bets on this one though.  The Bulls have just been too red hot this year to bet against, same with Steph.
7085  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Logan Paul vs Mike Tyson on: November 12, 2021, 01:26:47 AM
Seeing Logan’s behavior these days he definitely doesn’t appear to be getting ready for any fight. If this was a real thing being discussed it is clear the he isn’t taking the fight as seriously as his Mayweather bout. I think he’s getting tired of the boxing thing. I’m leaning towards this fight not happening and if it does happen I think Iron Mike kicks his ass.
7086  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 11, 2021, 05:44:18 AM
Great game on ESPN between the Heat and Lakers right now. Heading into overtime and the Lakers are looking pretty good. Carmelo is showing he’s still one of the best scorers in the game and Westbrook came through in the clutch to comeback and force overtime. Seems like they have the momentum. A great 5 minutes of basketball about to happen…
7087  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Building a NFT Game with BTC. Where Do I even start? on: November 11, 2021, 01:10:30 AM
You can check out elixir: https://launcher.elixir.app/games

There is at least one interesting game there lightnite https://lightnite.io/ . Sort of a low-poly Fortnite. Right now it's open beta ...
The NFTs are on Liquid sidechain but hey, close enough I guess  Tongue

Very cool to see that people are building out this sort of tech.  I wish Bitcoin would catch up and implement some sort of web3 login features for sites to use so we can stop relying on email/passwords to login.  That feels archaic already after getting used to using web3 applications on other blockchains.  I don't see why this hasn't been a standard for some time already.  After being strictly in the Bitcoin community for so long, it feels like I've traveled further into the future when using web3 apps to login to similar experiences like The Sandbox.
7088  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: November 11, 2021, 12:57:40 AM
^Morris brothers dirty plays should also be given some attention. It's not like this is the first time they hurt somebody or try to hurt them using cheap shots. That's an intentional foul but Morris went overboard using his elbow and knees. The same goes for Jokic fighting back, he could just push Morris first and let him fight face to face.
Nuggets will be up to Pacers today. I don't know how they can put a good game without their star and then MPJ is still out too.

But my bets will not be for them. I know the Nets will try to bounce back after a bad defeat against the Bulls. They had their rest too.
Nets -6.5 vs Magic Over 207.5. Good luck to everyone.

Yeah there isn't many games I like today but I do like the Nets.  I see them at -9 though where did you get them at -6.5?  The other game I like is golden state against the Wolves at -7.  Gotta ride the steph wave especially when they are home.  Funny to see Lakers giving 4 at home to the heat.  Looks like the lines finally caught up with reality.

Trying to see what I can play tonight and not seeing a ton I love either.  My Bulls have been doing a pretty good job this year so far in beating the spread.  They are currently -3.5 vs the Dallas Mavericks tonight and am considering taking some action on that.  I of course am a bit scared of Luka, that dude is just crazy good.  I am also seeing the Nets at -9.  Lakers should start to pick things up, but that is pretty crazy to see.

Yeah I might take the bulls in this too.  Dallas isn't deep and beyond Luka they are very average at best.  Bulls have a lot of options and think they match up well vs Dallas.  Stayimg away from the knick game, Bucks are definitely going to come in pissed after losing to them last week after being up 20+ points.

I took the Bucks and the Nets for tonight.  I just don't think the Bucks are the underdogs vs the Knicks and when I saw they weren't the favorites to win and had odds on their side, I had to go with them.  The Nets game seemed like a no brainer, but that will only get a small return.  I thought about going with the Warriors too, but for some reason I didn't.  I looked at betting the over on Stephen Curry for points but at 32 that seemed like too much of a gamble also.  For now, it's go Bucks!  Smiley
7089  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 11, 2021, 12:28:58 AM
The worst game ever televised?  That's what some are saying about tonight's ESPN matchup between the Rockets and Pistons.  Safe to say I'll be avoiding this one.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/tonight-s-rockets-pistons-game-might-be-the-worst-nba-matchup-espn-has-ever-broadcast/ar-AAQyqIL?ocid=msedgntp

The Jokic situation seems worse than it is I think.  Morris hit him with a cheap shot and then turned his back.  It must have been a lapse of judgement or him trying to get away with a cheap shot on an MVP thinking he wouldn't retaliate.  Shaq said it best, "when you hit me, don't turn your head because it's coming."
7090  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stake Casino on: November 10, 2021, 09:07:43 PM
Playing on another gambling site may not make op win in my opinion for I do believe gambling company is gambling company and all of them are out to make profit. If op don't have the skills to make him or her successful since some casino are skill base then he can equally lost in any other gambling sites.

I'd be careful with the thinking that skill will someone effect the result of your gambling experience.  Sure, some people might know a little better how to play games then others, but I think the house will always have the edge no matter what.  Players should gamble with the expectation of having a good time and losing money.  That's literally what it's about.

As for stake, I've always been pretty impressed with their resolution of my issues.  I never even put in a bug report, just complained on their thread a couple of times about an issue and they resolved it.  From my experience, they go above and beyond for their customers.
7091  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tommy Fury vs Jake Paul on: November 10, 2021, 09:04:49 PM
I feel like we aren't seeing much Jake Paul before this fight.  Usually he's all over the internet doing promo.  I think he's probably sitting in a gym 24/7 working on himself so that he doesn't get knocked out.  I really don't think he stands much of a chance though.  I wonder if we'll see more of the usual Jake Paul antics as we get closer to the fight.  I must say I'm surprised that he hasn't done something crazy to make headlines.  Surely someone in his camp is busy trying to think of some way to promote this fight in an off the wall manner.
7092  Other / Off-topic / Re: Deron Williams to fight in an undercard on Tommy Fury vs Jake Paul fight. on: November 09, 2021, 06:53:29 PM
The news came out and I'm surprised that I will see another retired NBA player fight in boxing.

The news; https://www.spin.ph/boxing/deron-williams-to-fight-in-jake-paul-tommy-fury-undercard-a1931-20211106?ref=home_featured_1

Quote
FORMER NBA All-Star Deron Williams is entering the boxing ring, possibly against a fellow former pro athlete.

Williams, who played 12 seasons in the NBA, is fighting in the undercard of the Jake Paul-Tommy Fury event on Dec. 18 in Tampa, Florida.

Organizers have yet to officially announce Williams, opponent, but he is reportedly set to face former Pro BowlerFrank Gore, who played 16 seasons in the NFL.

Last time I check, an ex NBA player Nate Robinson got knockout cold by Jake Paul, and now another ex NBA star trying his journey in boxing, this must be fun.

I wouldn't compare Deron Williams with Nate Robinson...  Since retiring from the NBA it's quite obvious that Deron Williams took up weight lifting to replace his basketball energy.  The guy looks like he got a steroid addiction or something.  He's massive.  Anyone that big with the sort of athletic ability that Deron Williams has is going to be a dangerous person in the ring.  I surely wouldn't want to fight him.  I don't know how much he weighs these days, but I have a feeling this fight would be the first time many people will have seen Deron since he retired.  They're going to be shocked...
7093  Economy / Securities / Re: What is your opinions on flashloans? on: November 09, 2021, 06:40:16 PM
I had never heard of a flash loan until the recent Crypto Punk sale for half a billion dollars.  It was an interesting use for a flashloan.  I'm not sure the costs that were involved with the transaction but it was a very blatant example of how easy it has become to inflate trading volume on NFT collections.  This can be discovered obviously, but most people don't bother with that level of research.  Here's a link so you can see what it is I'm talking about: https://news.artnet.com/art-world/crypto-punk-500-million-sale-2028470
7094  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: November 09, 2021, 05:43:04 AM
I’ve been avoiding bets while LeBron is out with injuries. Steph Curry has been a monster lately though. Anyone picking him for the over on points this year with prop bets has been doing pretty well. With the Warriors at 8-1 and without 2 of their starters you can tell Steph has been lighting it up. He went for 50 again tonight…
7095  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 09, 2021, 05:29:37 AM
In my opinion, I believe the Lakers need to "wake up ASAP".
Of course it's the start of the season, but LA can't be in the 6th to 8th place of their conference, as they could get a hard time that ranked 1st, 2nd or even 3rd place.

I don’t think they’re too worried about what seed they get in the playoffs. They are going to need to play better if they want to actually win in the post season though. There has been one bright spot. Carmelo Anthony. People weren’t sure if he could play in the NBA 2 years ago and now he’s the best scorer on the favorite to win the west. If they can get figure out how to fit Westbrook into the offense I think they’ll be ok.
7096  Economy / Collectibles / Re: How do you redeem the bitcoin from a casacius coin? on: November 08, 2021, 11:59:49 PM
At this point no one should ever peel a Casacius ever again. Sell funded

The value of Casascius Coins has gotten to the point where I wouldn't even want to carry them out of a bank.  I've been wanting to sell a 0.5 Casascius coin for a while now but it feels crazy to even have that amount in your possession on a physical coin.  So crazy when you think that the original ones were given away by the thousands.  I wonder how many of those bad boys are buried under some dirt at various festival locations around the country...  Back to your comment, HOW would you sell a funded Casascius coin?

As for the thread topic, Electrum.  Free, fast, and simple.
7097  Economy / Speculation / Re: New All Time High Baby! - $66,974.77 on: November 08, 2021, 11:30:07 PM
Bump
We have another ATH right now: $67,731.19 according to CMC
Dunno for how long it will stand this time, go go $70k next step Grin

It looks like the high might currently be from KrakenUS at $67,777.70. I expect this will likely be a moving target for a little while now that we are into price discovery territory. Most people seem to think we could get up into the $80Ks  before we see the next large correction. I’m starting to wish I had a Bitcoin ticker for moments like this.

If Coinmarketcap.com is the benchmark though, it looks like the ATH is $67,673.74 according to their site: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/

I'm happy to use that as a consensus unless there's a more standard way.
7098  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 08, 2021, 09:48:31 PM
Looks like the Lakers are already exploring changes on their team after the slow start...  Rumors for the day have it looking as if they are on the hunt for a new head coach.  However, the fanbase on social media is being pretty loud that they don't think the head coach is the problem.  Lakers fans are starting to make a case that Russell Westbrook should be traded in order to fix the problems on the team.  Russell's contract likely keeps that from being a possibility, and the Lakers first approach Dame to see if he'd join the team, so unless Dame has had a change of heart and the Blazers are looking to bite the bullet to help him get where he wants to be, I think we'll be seeing Russell in a Lakers uniform possibly next year as well...  Personally, I think they'll get it figured out.  Carmelo is playing better than expected and Nunn hasn't even played yet while LeBron and AD have both been having the usual injury issues...
7099  Economy / Services / Re: I'm Back, Mt.Gox Just Returned 22 BTC of Mine on: November 08, 2021, 09:38:31 PM
You wouldn't be here if you had 22 BTC.  Cheesy

You'd be off buying Yachts and Mansions and Bugatis etc.

 Cheesy

Imagine thinking that someone would have over a million dollars invested in an asset and then not follow it's development.

It's always really weird to me when people think that if someone has some money then they must be out spending it.  That's just not how being rich works...

I was once given great advice about people.  Here it is...

If you need money, don't ask a rich man.  He didn't get rich giving away money.  Ask a poor man.  He will give you the shirt off his back.
If you need help, don't ask someone with nothing to do.  They do nothing.  Ask a busy person.  They will always find time to do a job.

I repeat this advice only to say that if someone has 22 BTC today, they have no desire to spend it on yachts.  It is clear their motivation was never about the money in the first place or they would have cashed out long ago.  You have to have a passion for Bitcoin and a desire to help change the world for the better to be holding at this point.  Otherwise you probably spent all your Bitcoin and are mad at whoever accepted it as payment to deflect from your own personal responsibility.

As for mtgox...  No, obviously nobody has gotten their money back yet.  Although it does look like Q2 of next year is a possibility.
7100  Economy / Speculation / Re: New All Time High Baby! - $66,974.77 on: November 08, 2021, 09:00:02 PM
We got within $500 of the all time high. Pretty exciting. I suspect we’ll see new all time highs and a break into price discovery in the early morning hours of tomorrow. Then it will likely be back to the races. Miners have been holding for months now in preparation. The stage is set and the actors have taken their places. Now we watch, enjoy, and wait for the standing ovation (to run out the exit door while everyone else is clapping).
