7081  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is better Trade or Invest? on: March 01, 2018, 02:39:51 PM
Hi guys , Some of my friends are give me some ideas about Trading and Investing.

But i've some doubt which is better in that. What is the advantage and disadvantage? Because I want to focus on one at a time for generating source of income coz my funds are limited.

Can you give some of your useful ideas? I'm a begginer. I need some help. Thank you!

Both of them have risk, but i think the risk is bigger with trading than invest. But the profit could be bigger with trade than with invest.

Trade with altcoins can give some crazy jumps and send you to instant moon, every day i see coins getting +50% but the hard part is to know which coin will be the next one bumping.

With invest, if the investment is secure, then you will get close to 0.1% daily, you need to be really patience until get areal profit this way.

Thanks for sharing the source. As the other users i was thinking this was a fake new because just can't find the source but now looks legit.

This is a weird act. Is hard to find honest people now days and this can mean only two things:

1.- The hacker did it for fun, he was a white hat hacker, and for sure he helps to fix the vulnerability.

2.- The hacker realized there was a problem with his perfect hack, and he decided to give the money back before hit jail.

Any way, he did it and was an honest act. We need more people like him in the world!
7084  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fear of bitcoin on: February 28, 2018, 03:00:24 AM
Why are some governments so keen to prove that bitcoin is dangerous. Recently, the Indian government sent notifications to the citizens that they should not invest in bitcoin.

We have been living on an economic-politic system based on slavery from the last 3000 years. India is one of the most important producers of cheap-workers. The money is based on a global system, and, in short, it is in the hands of a few.
But, what happens if suddenly a new kind of money rises and it is in the hands of the people??
Precisely that: they are those who are used to have control of the money, they have lived sooo nicely from the last decades, even centuries. Now, people have created one money system they cannot control. And, maybe, a new kind of richness they cannot control.
The world is changing. Those who don't want to change their status in the pyramid, of course, are scared.
And they should.
7085  Other / Meta / Re: Drawbacks of Merit System on: February 28, 2018, 02:45:45 AM
I feel we are losing the whole point. Merits have become the most mentioned topic on the forum from the past weeks. Something is happening, people feel frustrated. Now, I understand merit system and why it was implemented. I totally agree with the initial point, and the idea, but, as we all see, this is not going too well, for we all are losing too much time on answering that kind of topics about merit system.
Instead of perpetuating this situation, I suggest: it is time to be propositive.
What kind of publications deserves merit? This is completely personal. This week I've sent more than 12 merits in total. Most of them were opinions which I agree with, and I felt refreshed just by reading them. So I gave merits based on my personal feelings. Thatś the way it works, for we are now surrounded by complaints and it feels refreshing just to read something new and propositive.
Nevertheless, I can't just close my eyes to the merit-system-problem, for this is growing each day.
Of course, most of the complainers are people we don't really want to be here. But there are others making some good points.
Now: I propose. Maybe the time has come for we to create some kind of "MeritContest". For instance, we can choose a topic, an important one and "hot". Or a problem with a really difficult solution. The point is: encourage those who really want to research to do their best and create good content for the forum. Maybe it is worthy somehow, for it will motivate useful people.
I don't know, share your thoughts.
7086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which coin now you think had a good future on: February 28, 2018, 12:59:43 AM
Like the title, what coins do you think will have a good future because now it's a lot of coins and not a few of those coins that fail
What do you think ?
What coin do you think will have good future ?

I think Bitcoin have a good future, just because was the first one and the one who rule markets.

Bitcoin Cash have a nice future because is like bitcoin but better, the 8MB blocks feature is the future.

Doge coin have future because is really cheap for each transaction.

ETH have future because it create the smart contracts.

Burst have future because the way it get mined with Hard Disk is a cool feature.

Clam coin have future for the way it get mined too, staking is one of the most cheap ways to mine.
7087  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Rising or Falling? on: February 27, 2018, 06:50:20 PM
Friends,
Try to literally understand the depth of my words as to what I tried to say here. This is not a speculative topic at all, so all those speculators please stay away from this thread.

The issues we were undergoing with the holy spike in the value of Bitcoins as well as its demand that grew so hard that it became unavailable for the network to welcome the newcomers as well as their transactions - SCALABILITY OF BITCOINS.

Are we near to a new era or an end? We put our trust and support Bitcoins just because we are able to transact freely any time and from anywhere.

But I guess it's not the same anymore, even after the SegWit, things have just stabilized quite a bit but I really don't think that if it goes the same way, we will be able to cope up with the demand that will surge highly after the whole world's ends meet and decide to start using Bitcoins at an extremely wider pace. Let's talk about the fees - we were never ought to spend more than a buck before when it used to be 500 - 1k a coin (I really don't have any problems with the price rise as it's for the good of Bitcoins anyways), but after the spike, we are only seeing the fees rise and sometimes we even need to pay the whole amount of fee, sometimes even higher than the total transaction amount that's being sent. And the worst thing - even though after paying those high fees, we still don't get results as expected, we don't get our transactions taken in those blocks that just come and go and we just keep calm and wait harder and patiently that next one will take it, and repeat the same after the next one also ignores our transaction.

Don't you think this should not be the scene with Bitcoins? I am not in support of any so-called hard forks and will probably never be.
I just want Bitcoin to gain its image back as it used to have - Cheap and quick. Cheap - for transactions part and Quick - for confirmations.

I don't know what initiative is to be taken, but I really care for Bitcoins because it took care of everyone.

Well, it's been a while since you post your concerns, and the "fees issue" are already getting better. I believe BTC is not a coin for anybody, you need some kind of knowledge, it is not an easy platform for everybody to use, so maybe it is not going to be used, not even in the future, as you describe.
I think BTC still has a great issue: one-megabyte blocks, instead of the 8-megabyte block that Bitcoin Cash is already using. To me that's the greater problem we have with Bitcoin: blocks need to be heavier, bigger, in order to move all those transactions. On the other hand, you can make the blocks to work faster, instead every 10 minutes, you can force them to work in five. Of course, it would be necessary to change the code, and all the miners should agree, because, if not, there is the risk of another "fork".
It is a difficult situation the one you describe. I think we all are concern somehow about what is going to be the Bitcoin path, for it is getting "Famous" fast. I think eventually altcoins will be the option, once the BTC become slower and slower or difficult to move. But for the bitcoin lovers, as us, solutions may be seems difficult to achieve. The "fork" risk is always over the table  when talking about a change in the code.
7088  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hold out or sell Bitcoin? on: February 27, 2018, 04:45:43 PM
With the price starting to creep up again do you think it's a good time to start selling some of my investments or do you think it's worth holding on for a while longer?

We all know how temperamental the market can be but do you think this is just a short term spike?

To answer this question we need to know at what price you buy.

For example:

If you buy them at $20,000 then you should keep holding, other way you have lost about 50%.

If you buy them at $200, you still on moon and congrats for your 5000% profit! you can sell them now if this is the scenario.

Remember to sell when you are on the profit side an avoid the panic sells
7089  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I grow my btc? on: February 27, 2018, 12:54:42 AM
Hey guys I'm not sure if this is the right place so please tell me if it is not. With that out of the way, I have a question for you all. I have recently been able to gather about .5 btc through minor trading and I was wondering if there was any method or way to grow this btc into a larger amount safely and fairly quickly. Thanks!
You always can buy Clamcoin for it mines itself. The most you have, the most you will be mining, It gives you 0,1% everyday in profits.
The other way maybe is to invest in something, not necessary has to be another coin, but an exchanger, a gambling site, how knows, whatever you feel is going to be profitable for you!!
I believe if you have earned all those BTC, you will make them multiplicate eventually. If you succeed in doing so, please tell us!!

7090  Other / Meta / Re: Is the Merit System Generating Enough Merits? on: February 26, 2018, 07:02:45 PM
First of all I wanna thank zentdex for his great analysis about how many merits each rank - on average - gains a month. I used some of the data he provided in his post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3015036.0

Now to my point:
I took my time to do the math and see how many members can the current merit system sustain and here are the results:

SUMMARY

https://imgur.com/a/snYsn

First of all let me remind you of rank requirements:

Newbie:           1 activity                   and     0 merits
Jr. Member:      30 activity                 and     0 merits
Member:          60 activity                 and     10 merits         needs 2 months to get the activity
Full Member:    120 activity               and     100 merits       needs 4 months to get the activity
Sr. Member:      240 activity               and     250 merits      needs 8 months to get the activity
Hero Member:   480 activity               and     500 merits      who knows?  Tongue  around 12 months
Legendary:       775 - 1030 activity     and     1000 merits

There are currently - at the time of this post - 57 merit sources with a total merit generation of up to 11975 sMerit per 30 days. Those are the merits generated by sources only, and given that a member can send half the merits he receives and imagining the best case scenario where every member sends all the merits he receives, the total amount of merits generated by the system would double to 23950 sMerit per 30 days. So, roughly 24k sMerit per month.

Now to the boring math:

Based on Zentdex's analysis the 24k merits are distributed between ranks in the following manner:
Legendary: 8%
Hero: 8%
Sr. Member: 14%
Full Member: 16%
Member: 19%
Jr. Member and Newbie: 23 + 11 = 34%

So...
Legendary members get 8% x 24k = 1920 merits which they don't need to rank up.
Hero members get the same amount 1920 which is enough for 1920/500 = 3.84 members to rank up every month. The No. of Hero members the system can sustain: 3.84 x 12 = 46.08
Sr. members get 14% x 24k = 3360 which is enough for 3360/250 = 13.44 members every month. The No. of Sr. members the system can sustain: 13.44 x 8 = 107.52
Full Members get 16% x 24k = 3840 which is enough for 3840/150 = 25.6 members every month. The No. of Full members the system can sustain: 25.6 x 4 = 102.4
Members get 19% x 24k = 4560 which is enough for 4560/90 = 50.67 members every month. The No. of Members the system can sustain:  50.67 x 2 = 101.34
Jr. Members and Newbies get 34% x 24k = 8160 which is enough for 816 members every month.

The time needed to rank up is easily acquired by dividing the amount needed to rank up by the average merits gained per month.

Conclusion (my opinion):
The amount of merits produced by the system is too very low, as we've seen that it would take an average member 3 to 5 times the time it took him to rank up in the previous system, I know that the purpose of this system is to create a better forum with better members but just imagine yourself a full member needing almost 2 years to get to senior. Is that fair? How frustrated you'd be?
Not to mention that I described the best case scenario and didn't go into calculating all the sMerits that are horded and not used and the merits that are sold on black markets.

Good analysis. I believe the merit system is still too young and it will be needed some time to all users to get used to it. Now, everyday I read publications abput how to get merit (mostly made by newbies), but I understand even in the higher ranks now it is really difficult to rank out, for example from hero to legendary.
Due to the preocupation rising here in the forum about merits, I feel this is the right time to begin a campaign or something, a kind of contest, where people can participate and the better publications earn some merits. I think this will encourage people to write about important stuff rather of asking or begging for merits. What do you people think about?
It is time to create a kind of Merit-contest?? We can pick a topic and let the people talk about it, and see what happens...
7091  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why wallet hacked on: February 26, 2018, 06:41:51 PM
Using private key is not safe?I used private key but I was hacked all my assets are gone..what should I do?

Did you share your private key in any sense?? private keys should never be shared, for it allows others to get access to your money.
Private keys are secure but only if you manipulate them in the correct way.
Maybe if you know whom you give to your private key, then you maybe are able to regain your btc.
I answer to you that based on your question. You directly asked if the private key is secure, it is as if you were asking if the NIP from your bank account is safe, well, it will always depend on you, if you shared it then it will be not secure at all.
Have I explained myself?

If you need any more help, please formulate your question in a more specific way. As I understood, you gave your private key to someone and then you lost your money. Is that correct?
7092  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: saving $ 1000 / month should I invest in bitcoin? on: February 26, 2018, 04:57:05 PM
I have a stable job, besides living expenses, entertainment and health care. I save $ 1000 - $ 2000 per month. Should invest in bitcoin or altcoin? Any tips, can advice help me? thank you !

I would recommend you to invest in clam coin. That is a Prof of Stake coin, that means you can mine them just by holding them.

In theory, it produces close to 0.1% daily, from my point of view is a smart investment for the long term. Making some math you will realize that you can give you a 36.4% annually profit from the initial amount. If you start with 1000 clams, in one year you will have 1364 clams, and if clam double it's price, the would be a nice way to make money with your savings.

Good luck and happy holding  Wink
7093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is The Most Privacy Coin In The World on: February 26, 2018, 02:39:22 PM
i want to know what is the most privacy coin in the world because i want to invest in it

Monero. You can even send a transaction and it will appear as a "cero-monero transaction", even when coins have been sent.
Not for nothing, this is the favorite coin to the black market.

As you can see in the link below, monero transactions can be confidential, only the person who send the money and the one who receives it can know how much money the transaction has: https://moneroblocks.info/tx/8da468ec3d17f38a452783441772341c51cf56e6ef2d2d7fd74ccea347253538

So, if your question is about confidentiality and privacy, monero is the principal altcoin where you can hide how much coins you send.

This year cryptos will goto oblivion. End of days.

India's unfavorable crypto stance and more countries to follow.

I warned you people 2 weeks ago, still there is time. Get out of this with minimum losses.
February, the 26th. I opened my eyes to a world that was still the same. Zombies prediction failed. Crypto world is still alive. BTC is rising.
The sun comes through the window. I am still alive. I still have my money.

Jejeje... man, those apocalypse predictions are always fun.
7095  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IS CRYPTO TRADING ADDICTION? on: February 26, 2018, 01:03:38 PM
I heard about a guy in Moscow, who jumped out of the window, because he lost all his money in crypto investments and trading. So, do we have a new free heroin here? Is it possible to get addicted to crypto?

I wouldn't compare it with Heroin, that's a lil extremist, but i'm agreed about it can be highly addictive.

Some years ago i teach a friend about how to trade on exchangers. He doesn't jump off the window, but he wakes up like 5 times in the night just to verify his inversions. And that's because altcoins markets are too volatile, they can jump to +200% in a couple of ours, and those are the bumps investors don't wanna lose.

This friend end making a nice profit, like x5 from what he had started, and 5 months ago he decided to get out from the business, take the money and buy a car. Was a happy end for him, but wasn't easy to make that profit, a lot of stress behind each move.
7096  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin dominate and became the primary form of money in the future? on: February 26, 2018, 02:35:27 AM
as we all know, bitcoin today was so popular and many people around the world invest and earn for it, but will these lead to became the new form of money and will our paper will be phased out?

Maybe not bitcoin, but the technology behind it (A.K.A. Blockchain) will be. Because the math and cryptology behind it are just perfect for this.

As you can see, much banks start using blockchain technology for lot of reasons, the best thing about it is the data base system behind it. each transaction building the blocks who build the blockchain, the idea is just to perfect to let it go. And we already apply it and already see it works, so, it will rule the money until a better idea come.
7097  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: STOP! TO ALL FELLOW NEWBIES AND JR. MEMBERS on: February 25, 2018, 06:37:06 PM
Danny put it excellently and if I could put it in context or give a reference I would love to attempt to make this even more clear and salient. Activity acts as a participation trophy for taking place in forum discussions while maintaining a bare minimum requirement not to spam and some other criteria. Merit acts as a trophy for a contribution deemed worthy by another member who has also contributed to the forum and now is able to pay it forward.

Asking or begging for merit would be like a fighter asking or begging for the title and belt without making their mark. This is like an actor looking for a nomination without playing a significant role.

This is a much broader mindset and it can be applied when looking at any endeavor, but you must be willing to be the fool. Be honest with your limited starting knowledge  and do not be afraid to be the fool. Everybody starts somewhere and as long as you are operating on the same base principals and core foundation as the rest of us have agreed to then you are free to progress past being the fool with your own determination. Do not expect to earn merits, ever, rather hope to assist, contribute and inform others in a way that is meaningful and significant. Challenge yourself to learn more and be more, merits will soon become representative of what you have brought forward to the community. In my case, I believe I have been over-merited for my contribution so you might even find yourself lucky in that regard.
Since the merit has been implemented here in the forum is easier to detect which people are here with the only goal to earn some money, instead to give good contents to the forum. Nevertheless, I understand it can be somehow difficult to achieve a good position in order to get some paid activities.
I believe those begging for some merits are just newbies who don't understand how the forum works. They just want to get a bounty campaign with no effort at all.
It is sad to see how the forum has become, rather than a place where information is free for all, a place where a bunch of people wants to earn money at no cost, instead of people trying to give their best in order to get merits, rank up, and become important collaborators.
The merit system, at the first, didn't convince me at all, it remembers me the "likes" on the social media. Now, I fully understand why are they necessary, for, as you say, what the forum needs is meaningful and significant contributions.
Everyday we see desperate attempts, such the one we are answering right now, to get some merits. Maybe it is time to open a "merit contest" or something like that, in where the best publication wins some merits, and where everybody here can participate. Who knows, maybe it is useful for people to make their best for once, and a real opportunity to get some merits.
7098  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Social Networks on: February 25, 2018, 02:59:32 PM
What are some things you'd like to see in a social network that would make your experience even better?

example ... No ads / No "feed" / better messaging system using better encryption

There is just one thing, among all, I would change in the social network: a kind of "hate filter". For this is amazing how under the excuse of being "anonymous" people expressed themselves too much often in hate terms. It is easy to find people just telling somebody whatever strong words you can imagine, or even making death menaces. Of course, nothing like that can happen in real life, but why there is always the hate presence in social networks? Because there are no consequences at all. To me, that's somehow scary, for it shows how people can be mean with no control at all.
Let me give you an example. A restaurant last week was accused to be homophobic. That was a whole lie, made by a group of drunk teenagers, who selected parts of a video and conveniently upload it to the internet with a made text telling an incredible lie.
Even when that was based on a lie, "serious" newspaper use the teenager's publication and even publish the fake information. The restaurant has to close up, due to the death menaces, bad commentaries, and all kind of hate they received. They almost lost their business, after 4 years of hard work. Now, the truth came out thanks to the security cameras, but they are still scared. Try to imagine: anybody can get your phone and make you a call crying they are going to kill your family. In Facebook, anybody can send you a hate commentary,  a public one, just saying the same stuff.
Well, to me this is unacceptable. Facebook and others social media should have a filter or something. Death menaces must have consequences.
Even police tell the restaurant they cannot make a demand, they will have no justice. This is sad.
Anybody can say whatever they want whenever they want, with no consequences, even if their words ruined a life.
Another example: cyberbulling. Last year there was a new about a teenager girl who suffer too much cyberbulling, by her schoolmates. She suicided. The parents couldnt do anything to get justice, and the case was shut down. How it is possible???
We need social media to have consecuences. We need it now.

Be very careful where you enter your login data! HTTPS means nothing anymore.
Do you notice the small dots(.) below the letters n
If you enter your password in a fake site like that your coins and money are gone. And always have 2 factor authentication activated.

Stay Safe

I've never seen something like that before!! Thanks for sharing.
Just one question: what is the link source? How do you get it? Where did you see that?
This is an extraordinary strong attempt os pishing, and this website should be reported immediately, so, if you can, copy here the address in order to other users can check out what's going on there.

Again, thanks for sharing this.
