The setting is now cleaned up and I've soldered a jump ring on it, here are some WIP photos, now I need to sand any marks off it, polish it and then finally set the gemstone and polish and clean it up again.

7163  Economy / Speculation / Re: With Gold & Silver tumbling, will investors seek out Bitcoin as a hedge? on: June 26, 2013, 09:45:11 PM

What is the reason for the bankers to suppress gold and silver?

To put it simply without the crazy bullshit, it makes the people in power look good, because gold and silver is often used as a way of measuring inflation it would make sense to keep the prices low, that way people are supposed to think there's nothing wrong with paper money and it's doing fine, then of course Bitcoin comes along and fucks up that whole illusion Cheesy I think this is just a normal price correction though, people will be selling off etc. in preparation for the next collapse and yes, I do think one is coming soon because this is what happened the last time and the media was in complete denial back then too.
7164  Other / Off-topic / Re: best movie you have ever seen in your life on: June 26, 2013, 09:32:24 PM
I think the only one that's really stuck with me so far is District 9, some of the others were good and enjoyable but they all suffered from that over the top bullshit that most movies do.
7165  Economy / Goods / Re: WTS - Frontier Space Manga, Cabochon Necklaces on: June 26, 2013, 08:53:28 PM
I got my cabochon gemstones from here like the other smaller gemstones: http://www.kernowcraft.com/ they have a much better selection than Cooksons who seem to specialise more in the tools and metals side of Jewellery

I'm halfway through the round cabochon necklace I showed earlier, I'll be posting WIP pictures and the finished product soon, if anyone gets interested and wants different gemstones for their necklaces I can order them from the site above. Depending on the sizes etc. the price may need to change depending on how expensive the gemstone is but feel free to have a browse, I can only do oval and round gemstones at my current skill level.
7166  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-06-25 Huffington Post- Bitcoin: huge hype belies low awareness on: June 26, 2013, 06:50:31 PM
Are news journalists getting more stupid or something? How can you have huge 'hype' and not have people being aware of something? In order to have hype people need to be aware of what they're hyped up about in the first place, or did no one give them a dictionary when writing this?
7167  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's your favourite sport out of these? on: June 26, 2013, 04:56:34 PM
Then why the fuck did you quote it so I had to look at it again? Sad
7168  Other / Off-topic / Re: Fuck Summer! on: June 26, 2013, 03:16:15 PM
Necroing the fuck summer thread, I've currently gotten hayfever so bad that my eyelids are purple and I feel like I have the flu or a really bad cold despite taking Piriton, fuck summer! FUCK IT!
7169  Economy / Economics / Re: Can USD be transformed to soundness? on: June 26, 2013, 01:21:17 PM
Get rid of paper money entirely and use only coins so it is much more expensive to counterfeit and switch to gold/silver, problem solved, oh and disband the federal reserve and make sure to eradicate their influence from the U.S government entirely.

If you know so much about economics than explain to me what alt-coins bring to the table.

It's called currency competition, I already explained that in my post.

I didn't actually know that, is fiat just an acronym then?

It is clear that your average journalist is not properly educated enough to inform the public about the "importance" of these alt-coins (which is almost none).

Alt-coins are extremely important if you knew anything about economics then you'd understand that, you lost my interest the moment you claimed they weren't, I guarantee if Bitcoin hadn't been released open source it would have been a failure or it would have been worth as much as Second Life Linden Dollars are currently. We have needed currency competition ever since central banking came along and people tried to control currencies in order to control everyone else now we have a system that even it's creator wouldn't be able to undo easily because the code is already out on the internet now.

Just like you do with anything in the Bitcoin market, when it comes to scam artists, just use your common sense and look at things carefully.
7174  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your most hated feature in computer games? on: June 26, 2013, 12:28:54 AM
Cut scenes that you can't skip. I mean I'm trying to play a game here not watch a movie

I don't know about you but I wonder if unskippable animations fall into this category as well, I keep thinking back to all the total war games that had this problem where those bloody agents would spam those animations on you constantly before you could finish a turn.

Only one or two secs aren't in the foundation and Gavin leads both the foundation and development so I am drawing my own theory.

If that's the case then fuck em and make new currencies, I did remember reading an article though where Amir Taaki was it? Got asked about what he thought of the Bitcoin foundation and he didn't seem to like them very much.
7176  Other / Politics & Society / Re: what is your political preference? on: June 25, 2013, 10:36:30 PM
Ugh, vote for what you believe in, not the group that you think will win if you decide to vote at all, I actually voted for the Green Party because even from an early age I despised the main parties and thought at least by voting third party something interesting might happen but of course that's before I knew the whole system was rigged and learned about the way the world actually works. These days though I know my beliefs about government and the way people can live their lives without it aren't at all popular with the loyalist crowd so I just support stuff like Bitcoin which is far more practical an option.
7177  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your most hated feature in computer games? on: June 25, 2013, 10:29:23 PM
Woh! I still need to get through the first lot I got recommended and each one is almost a thousand pages long! lol Cheesy but in regards to getting games coded right away, things have gotten a lot easier now with stuff like SFML and did you know how simple game loops are? This is what I meant with the RPG statistics where they take the lazy option, they quite literally take their original code and then just add zeroes to the numbers they've put up.

I've even managed to make a very basic RTS style camera with arrow keys, the mouse stuff is what's most complicated I've found, oh and other programmers seem to hate my formatting so I need to look at that properly Smiley

I know this is going to get me a lot more ignores, but someone has to say it, and if it is me, the so be it. I think they are disgrace to the community. I hope the foundation gets shutdown, and sued for every single penny they have.

Wait a minute, when did the core devs of Bitcoin ever become a part of the Bitcoin foundation? No really, I'm not being sarcastic, if this is the case I'm actually on your side but I'm pretty sure most people including the developers at Bitcoin think the Bitcoin foundation is just a bunch of twats going around being self-appointed leaders of the Bitcoin community.

If you think you can do better then Bitcoin is open source and there's nothing stopping you or anyone else from getting the code and messing with it to your hearts content.
7179  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your most hated feature in computer games? on: June 25, 2013, 07:05:44 PM
I'm looking at all sorts Jaywaka, C++ Primer is to help me understand the code better and be less noobish Cheesy SFML and OpenGL is where I want to be towards the end.
7180  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your most hated feature in computer games? on: June 25, 2013, 06:23:48 PM
lmao! Not right away of course but they certainly helped me understand the damn stuff better, I'm currently look at C++ Primer and it's got some very nice explanations unlike some of the damn tutorials I've looked at.
