AMT_Miners, should I send this back again? Please advise? I have all the records that I am telling the truth about calling you for a week to pick up this miner when you did not. I also have the records it sat in the FedEx warehouse for another full week. It would be in your best interest at this point to get a move on things here.

I recommend sending it back at least 3 times.  This will be ample evidence to invoke the "Federal Lemon Law" on them.

Which does remind me,  I need to also send then back broken equipment.
722  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Official AMT Thread on: May 08, 2014, 09:08:24 PM
Captain, I have no hard feelings buddy. The only one I have hard feelings here is AMT because I paid $6,000 in 2013 and nothing to show for it but a bunch of broken parts which keep getting returned to me.

Maybe you should send it again.

This will just highlight the absurdity of how you are being treated as a customer.

A couple of possible "competitors"...
https://projectmeshnet.org/
http://storj.io/
(I have no idea how "real" these projects are or when they may have a working product)

... they could be better than MaidSafe or released before.

What will be the value of MaidSafecoins then ?

If maidsafe folks were mentoring them,  do you think they would be able to create a better maidsafe?

All your negativity has absolutely no substance.

In fact,  most of the negativity I hear against maidsafe is coming from the same group of NXT supporters.  Is this part of your NXT 'swarm'?  Well, I hope David Irvine sues you guys for defamation.
724  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Official AMT Thread on: May 08, 2014, 08:52:39 PM
Yes, I have totally been fallowing the drama / AMT thread. I guess what I was trying to say is would you rather have them take back your fucked up machines and replace them with other fucked up machines of the same type or see what your other options are for getting a more stable machine or whatever your choice may be.

I wasn't trying to stir the pot, in fact now, after thinking about it I can't believe I even said anything based on AMT's long history of never fallowing through with anything. But it does appear they are making an attempt to get things back on track. I guess we will all see what happens as this thing plays itself out.

I certainly didn't mean to offend you. I apologize if I did. I totally feel for you, They are into me for three of them and I am way lower number than you.

So why is it only now that they are making an effort?

The Consumer Affairs folks were already communicating with them and the best they could do was ship us non-working miners.

The Lawsuit was filled almost about a month ago however it was only 2 weeks ago that they decided to ink a deal with Technobit.

There seems to be a high level of cluelessness here in that AMT seems to think that shipping electronics straight out of their assembly plant doesn't require some level of testing and rework.

There seems also like they are unaware of all the consumer protection laws that exist in the U.S.    You can pull this stunt off in other countries,  but in the U.S.?   I mean if they set shop in Bulgaria, they might have a chance to get away with it.
725  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Official AMT Thread on: May 08, 2014, 08:41:57 PM
Well,  has everyone signed up yet with the lawyers yet?

Here are the details:

http://www.chimicles.com/lawsuit-filed-against-advanced-mining-technology-for-failure-to-deliver-bitcoin-miners

Give them a call:
Kimberly Donaldson Smith
Phone: 610-642-8500

Try to figure out what the status is.

My take in all this,  AMT fortunately doesn't appear to be a complete scam.

Nevertheless, they have failed miserably in providing poor customer relations and non working products.

Can they be charged for 'Federal Wire Fraud'? If they refuse to refund customers, then without a doubt.

Can they declare bankruptcy?  I doubt it.
726  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Official AMT Thread on: May 08, 2014, 06:41:02 PM
Unfortunately the Coincraft chips just seems to suck no matter who tries to make them work.

That is interesting.  So are you saying that even the Technobit and Dragon systems suck?

Don't blame AMT for this mess, blame the coincraft A1's.

I'd be willing to put money down on Opieum being an AMT shill or employee. He's like a full blown supporter and AMT optimist, with a slight hint of negativity just to make everyone buy the fact that he isn't involved.

It's almost as if Joshua created another handle just to interact with customers, as a customer - but the real agenda is to push this story about how "AMT was wronged by their manufacturers and are working their hardest to resolve the issue" and "let's stay positive folks!".

Opieum is a nice helpful guy. He is OK in my book. Please lets focus on trying to get a solution here first.

727  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Official AMT Thread on: May 08, 2014, 06:31:45 PM
I am hopping the offer is better than a 1.2Th/s for our $6,000. That solution is not economically viable at this time.

Right, with the long wait and price paid, the competition already is way ahead by a gigantic margin and we are left behind if these are/were our only purchases. Still its alot of money we burned through. With the amounts paid for 2x 1.2ths miners one can get an SP30 from spondoolies that hashes at 5.4Ths. that's more than 4x the hashing power I would be getting from AMT. Plus they offer a free month of hosting prior to shipping as an option.

Alternately one could get bitmaintech's S2 Antminer at 2599 for 1ths (2199 with $400 coupon if you bought from them before). So 2Ths at 5198 vs 5599 for 1.2Ths with an already better efficiency per GHs/watt all things considered (seeing as the current AMT miners require at least 1600Watts to run.

There are other vendors but IMO those would be the two most noteworthy from a price point. From a money perspective we pretty much got screwed in a big way if all we get is the 1.2Ths per miner we paid for (assuming 1.2Ths is what was bought).

Makes sense why so many people would want refunds....even IF we got what we paid for we lose anyway. If they throw in more hardware to make up for the loss, then it will help close that gigantic gap and restore some customer confidence.

Spondoolies SP10  -  1.4THs  -  $3,495 (One month delivery)
Antminer S2          -  1   THs -  $2,599 (Pre-order, May 8th Delivery)
Cointerra IV           - 1.6 THs -  $3,500 (In Stock, Immediate delivery)

Okay,  so what again is AMT promising for the $6,000 we've paid for?

While we still are waiting I think 2.4Ths per miner is I think a more than reasonable exchange (seeing as it also fully honors the MPP in full and closes the door to any future litigation on that point). My opinion of course. Not gonna get greedy either. But if they provided me with 2.4THs per miner (meaning if you bought two miners you get 4.8Ths) I would consider the whole matter closed from my perspective. Its not a perfect situation for anyone here. And for $5599 2.4Ths is not bad. Not great but still within a decent range. Considering that AMT is likely operating at a loss at this point, they can always write it off on next years taxes and get that money back as claimed losses (which will likely generate a refund anyway in that case). But IF and ONLY IF we had to compromise lower. I would settle for no less than 2Ths at this point. I think under the circumstances that would be the bare minimum we should accept. That and working hardware. My .2 satoshi on that. But what is proposed above would be enough I think to settle the matter for most of us provided the hardware works and is in working order when it arrives.

The problem with this whole situation is that we started to settle for less for our money. The DIY kits were a terrible compromise in things like shaving off the case and PSU, in my case close to 800 bucks cost between PSU and cases, faulty hardware that barley worked for 5 minutes on default settings before burning out (only 4 of 10 cards are working at this point and even those very conservative settings to avoid cooking them. Now we are in a situation where they are going to put forth a proposal. I think if they fulfil their end in full (MPP) it would be the only surefire way to avoid any more problems and close this whole thing out. We get what we were originally were told we would get, and they can go back to doing business and we can move all move on and put this behind us.

Hopefully they are reading this and can apply this to the option 2 proposal we are supposed to be looking at now. (first thing in the morning is now 2:15PM as of this writing)

Well option 2 seems to be most viable solution.

(1) There is some confidence that the technobit boards are reliable.
(2) AMT already spent money to ink a deal with Technobit to acquire the designs.  They've also sent it through manufacturing.

Receiving the old miners isn't really an option since they are flawed to begin with.  AMT coming up with their own designs was a very expensive mistake.  What is very sad is that they did not communicate this and were likely only forced to take the Technobit route when their lawyers spelled out the consequences of not doing so.

The scrypt based option is also interested, however un-tested.  I aslo don't think AMT has the cash to buy Innosilicons A2 chips.

Regarding the hosted solution, well to be honest, that is also a losing proposition.  AMT can't find the talent to do assembly correctly,  how can we expect that they have the talent to run a mining operation.  Also,  the cost of electricity isn't going to be competitive in PA.   If you want cheap electricity, you got to station near a hydroelectric plant or some natural gas facility in North Dakota.

I do wonder who AMT is actually communicating with regards to an "acceptable" solution.

I am pretty sure that the plaintiffs are going to react with "WTF?" to the current list of options.

Like, I do like the Spondoodlies idea... but for an unexplained reason, AMT decides it wants to manufacture Technobit boards.   What is the gain in that?   The Technobit boards are nearly going to become obsolete with most other folks ship 1THs+ system.  Bitmain has already discontinued its 200GHs S1 blades, how long will people care for 240GHs Technobit boards?

Looks like a lot of moving parts and a ton of ambition on what this can do.

People will need to be patient here,  my estimate that it'll take at a minimum two more months before we see 'feature complete'.

Interesting to note the trends of various Alt-coins.  Here is the latest score board from coinmarketcap.  What you will notice that many more *popular* coins are all trading now below IXC valuation.

 Ixcoin  $ 1,073,723
 Devcoin $ 639,112
 Anoncoin $ 587,756
 Terracoin $ 474,515
 Digitalcoin $ 423,759
 NetCoin    $ 365,395
 Freicoin    $ 357,912
  Mincoin   $ 223,876
 SecureCoin $ 199,972
 TagCoin     $ 165,921
 BitBar        $ 131,480
 Philosopher Stones  $ 116,143
 Yacoin       $ 105,763
 EarthCoin  $ 62,701

There still a lot more coins that I have never heard of.  The reality is,  many of these coins will come and go, however IXC will likely be around for a very long time.

sounds good,  however we still have to fix that crashing problem that you currently have.  Let me know what you've found.
It hasn't crashed yet since the change but I haven't seen a filtering message yet. I'm monitoring the logs and when I get one of these without a crash following I think we can safely assume it is fixed.

Okay,  I'll work on the CounterParty port.

Send bounty to xm7RZfDQyiYqFQZ6Q9ZgtSkX9e8uBJ3SLY

ETA: 2 weeks
734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: May 08, 2014, 12:48:03 AM
I like the merged mining.  I'll add 10,000 IXC to the bounty for the Ixcoin client upgrade.

You guys are forgetting about the above 10,000 IXC donation.  That's 15,000 IXC now.
mmpool.org can donate the remaining 10,000 IXC to help improve ixcoin. Friction, can you provide an ixcoin address and I'll send the coins.

sounds good,  however we still have to fix that crashing problem that you currently have.  Let me know what you've found.

Looks like Bitmine now has a 2.4 THs system.  Requires *cough* 3,000watts

Here it is:  http://bitmine.ch/coincraft-rig-updates-now-production/   a new board design

Ain't it odd that AMT has been advertising a 2.4 THs and promised that it'll ship on April 1st.   How the is that even possible?

736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: May 07, 2014, 11:54:10 PM

But we need a deadline on this. The last update should have taken a couple weeks and it literally took 5 months and people complained about problems with the client for weeks after that.

I think you misrepresent what happened.  I came up with the new code and it took like 5 months to collect the bounty.

Look at the check in times in the GitHub repo.  https://github.com/FrictionlessCoin/iXcoin
737  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Official AMT Thread on: May 07, 2014, 08:40:54 PM

That statement COULD be used to enforce the MPP. But by itself is not an explicit mention of it. If its being addressed in court and we get something more out of it to address this then great. If not well best we can hope for is to walk away with our hardware. But its clearly stated that they did misrepresent things and now have to compensate for that. As they have not addressed the MPP yet we don't know what is going on there. It would be good for us to know what we are getting in regards to that.

Ignoring the existence of the MPP is in fact a misrepresentation of what they sold to customers.

Advertising and even proclaiming that you would ship on February and  falsely stating that you've shipped hundreds of units is also a misrepresentation.

I seriously doubt that the plaintiffs, who are extremely upset as to how AMT has misrepresented the facts, will allow AMT easily settle on a lesser delivery that what was advertised.

Well,  I'm sure the lawyers are all negotiating this in the background.
738  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Official AMT Thread on: May 07, 2014, 08:36:07 PM
Burn it tests?Huh  Are you freakin encouraging AMT to mine with our boards?
HELL YES!
Do you know of another way they can be tested under load? Dinna think so...
They could either contact us for a pool address & worker name/pw or just use testcoins.

Yes,  you have a very responsive RMA system.   Do a quick test on the system, ship customer units and quickly do a replacement if they do fail.

Heck, this entire business is about quickly responding to customers problems.

At this late stage of the game, there is just no luxury to see if these technobit boards are perfect.

Every time a machine fails, it is at the expense of a customer having lost mining wages.

(honestly.... this is a lousy business to be in)
739  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Official AMT Thread on: May 07, 2014, 08:10:53 PM
IF and this is a huge IF we get that timeline you said.....we would be fortunate to get what we paid for. Hopefully AMT is doing something to make it up to us. But at this point its not looking likely. We don't know the terms yet for these options. They did say their lawyers were vetting or prepping the info and getting us something today so I am looking forward to that and hoping for a result.

I do wonder if their lawyers have seen the MPP and understand the obligations of AMT to its customers.

It is more than delivering miners that meet specifications,  it requires proving an ROI based on the promised shipping days.

The only realistic ROI is to refund the money paid.

Anywhere here is AMT's technobit board just in case you missed it:

@AMT
Seeing that image....a concern was brought up....how will those be cooled? Looking at the designs marto74 has they have pretty large heatsinks and fans.....how much different will be the cooling solution for this reworked design? Will it be the same as technobits? or will it be similar to the old design? What sort of burn in tests will be performed to ensure we dont get miners that burst into flames?

Burn it tests?Huh  Are you freakin encouraging AMT to mine with our boards?
740  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Official AMT Thread on: May 07, 2014, 08:05:53 PM
Too much entitlement man. They at bare minimum from a legal perspective would need to fulfill what they need to to satisfy the legal complaint. There is no part of the legal complaint that states they need to make good on the MPP....which explains how they appear to dodge that question when it comes up. If you really feel so strong about it might want to start a separate complaint or work with the legal team of the class action to amend the complaint. It might be too late for that. I am just looking at this as it is not as I would want it to be. Believe me I really wish we could all get the MPP fulfilled and the hardware we are supposed to get based on that. But unless AMT states otherwise and definitively it's not likely happening.

I am looking at this pragmatically from a legal perspective...not from what I would like to have. At best all we can hope for is that we get the THs we paid for.

Here are snippets of the legal complaint:

Quote
In their Complaint, Plaintiffs allege they and hundreds of other AMT customers ordered and paid for bitcoin miners which they never received from AMT.  After weeks and months of undue delay, Plaintiffs unsuccessfully attempted to cancel their orders and get refunds.  As a result, Plaintiffs allege economic damages including, but not limited to, loss of the purchase price and the lost opportunity to mine bitcoins.

According to the Complaint, AMT’s alleged conduct amounted to unfair, deceptive and fraudulent business practices, a breach of contract, a breach of express warranty, common law fraud, negligent misrepresentation, breach of the duty of good faith and fair dealing, unjust enrichment, and violations of various state consumer protection laws.  The Complaint alleges that by concealing material facts and making false and misleading statements, AMT was able to wrongfully acquire millions of dollars from customers since mid-2013.

So the MPP is implicitly invoked in the wording of "the lost opportunity to mine bitcoins".

So the math is clear,   return the purchase price ($6,000) and the revenue loss due to mining (2 months worth).

So I have no idea which legal complaint you are referring to here?

I don't think the plaintiffs are going to play nice here and let AMT get off the hook so easily.
