721  Economy / Economics / Re: about paper wallets on: December 23, 2013, 03:58:33 PM
Why paper wallet? Just use 20 character+ password and throw your wallet.dat on dropbox or googledrive.

Im actually curious, not trying to be flip...

With a paper wallet, the key is stored offline in clear text. Anybody who has physical (or just visual) access to the paper wallet can withdraw the BTC.

725  Economy / Securities / Re: PETAMINE IPO HAVELOCK TODAY on: December 19, 2013, 02:09:48 PM
What will be the impact of the USD/BTC price. Have you already converted BTC collected with the IPO into fiat, and if not, when do you plan to do it ?
CryptX explained that earlier - they put their money (btc) in when signing contract with Bitmine.
That IPO was to get that 'loan' back from new shares sold.

Ok, I'll try to read that again and hopefully understand it better

Also, I guess when the mining will start, you'll convert the 35% reinvest share of the mined BTC every week, am I right ? Or do you plan to adjust the reinvest proportion if the BTC price in USD goes substantially under 500$ ? Or to hoard this proportion waiting for better days ?

Last question, I happen to live near you, is it possible to visit you once the mine is active, just out of curiosity ?

My explanation would be that cryptsy has added ORB (wtf is ORB Huh) and it "replaced" QRK in the list... Will be fixed soon IMO

From my rough calculations (don't expect them to be reliable Tongue): 0.0749 BTC a week and 0.299 BTC a month.

30% /month ? Isn't that too good to be true ?
731  Economy / Securities / Re: PETAMINE IPO HAVELOCK TODAY on: December 10, 2013, 01:32:57 PM
More info about the transfer of stocks betwen cryptosotcks and Havelock ?

It would be nice to have a communication with clear instructions on crypto:stocks directly.

737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MCXNow Shutting down (Temporary) on: November 28, 2013, 02:53:10 PM

There is NO safe place for your Bitcoins unless keeping them in an offline wallet.

Every time you move them to a place, you take risk.

I'd even say you should split your coins into multiple offline wallets to minimize the risk.
738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [QRK] 120,000 QRK Bounty for New Logo on: November 27, 2013, 07:36:53 PM
If Quark is to be a currency like the Dollar Pound Yen etc then making an overly complicated logo is counterproductive.

You want a logo that can be used as a symbol in a font.  Current logo already meets that.  The current logo in black can be shrunk right down to be used like $ or BTC followed by numeric digits.

For an example of what I am talking about check out page ~73 on the Bottlecaps thread where a user modified an amazon.com page to have items for sale in Bitcoin, US$ and Bottlecaps (and a proposed Cappachino name change).

I agree completely. Also, making a good & consistent serie of logo + physical + ascii charachter + banners takes times, and now that the bounty is really interesting, you should extend the deadline to end of december to let real graphists work on it (no offense to the already submitted ideas Wink
739  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: November 26, 2013, 08:01:30 PM
Let's all post how much we've lost. I'll start:

0.00000000 BTC

LOL  Cheesy

Hey, sorry to disappoint, but I actually made money trading shares. Not much but someting like 1 BTC. When I realized RS was manipulating fee price, and when the price was around 0.1, I bought some and sold them as soon as he started buying around 0.12 ... weak hands, I blamed myself for not selling @ 0.2 hours later, lol

I admit I was a lucky idiot
740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Critique My Holdings on: November 26, 2013, 09:26:40 AM
I have a similar distribution, except the Zetacoins & Megacoins

my 2 cents :

Double you WDC position, add some Primcoins, and some Quarks while it's cheap Wink
