641  Other / Archival / Re: Counterparty (XCP) Buy/Sell Thread with Google Doc on: February 02, 2014, 11:34:19 PM

Hi, one of the (early) testers

The decentralized exchange is, and has been, working for weeks now. http://www.blockscan.com/order_match.aspx

Ok, but how do you trade BTC/XCP pair without a third party/escrow. Do you still have to trust the issuer ? Is there an "issuer" for an XCP/BTC pair ?
642  Other / Archival / Re: Counterparty (XCP) Buy/Sell Thread with Google Doc on: February 02, 2014, 09:35:09 PM
Just a warning to buyers: XCP burners (basically early adopters) have formed a cartel (chk xcp thread) and jacked up the price artificially by 10x-15x times. Please don't accept these prices as the coin is still a prototype and isn't worth that much yet. They are a greedy cartel

I'm an XCP burner and I don't agree with that. There are more than 1000+ early adopters, good luck with forming a cartel. Let's wait for a proper market to be established wand we'll see clearer.

Personally I don't think there will ever be an XCP cartel at all. But you're right, buyers should be warned.

Correct me if I'm wrong... but this is what I'm seeing.

Mastercoin @ launch had a marketcap of ~$128 million with 560,000 coins all rough numbers. That's $228 USD per Coin. Mastercoin was sold during IPO @ 100 per BTC which in todays BTC value is like $8 per coin. That's 28,500% increase aka.. wow. So just a newb estimate you'd divide 2,600,000 / 560,000 = 4.64

So $228 / 10 / 4.64 would put XCP @ $4.91 / coin
Many would consider this estimate based on nothing solid, which is fine, I'm just saying for spec.

Seems the most correct estimate so far. After that, let's the market decide. And like always, the more volume, the better.

I reread the original NXT thread and I think one of the key reasons the price of NXT did so well was that immediately after genesis block, a market price of 1BTC per million NXT was established. This was a big premium over genesis price.

I think I saw some price for XCP at .01 BTC on some external site, I like the sounds of that for a starting market price.

If we can all be firm and not sell for below .01 BTC, then that will be the new price.

Someone needs to purchase XCP at .01BTC, I would but I burned all my spare BTC

Any buyer and seller to start the after-burn XCP trade market at .01BTC?

James

Establishing some kind of cartel like NXT is not sane (and I don't believe it's doable with so much XCP holders)

Actually, if I've burend some BTC, it's because of the fairness of the initial ditribution and excluded the idea of some happy few shareholders.

Now, if you you want to make a quick buck, you're welcome to try, It's a free market at last. But if I were you I'd wait at least the GUI.

Happy new year !! The beginning of a new era !

lol at the disaster girl !

Confirmed, meaning 1.

Ok. I was at xxxxx09... Does that give extra points?  Grin

There should have been an extra reward for the last burn !
647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCP] Counterparty Protocol, Client and Coin (built on Bitcoin) - Official on: February 02, 2014, 07:47:47 PM
Pretty sure valid. As long as inputs are from same address, and change goes to the original address, should be valid burns. Plus blockscan shows them as valid.

Don't really relish dealing with the 0.0099 change though x 50 accounts. Even though I certainly wouldn't mind having them.

Totally OT: But block 283807 is pretty funny. When was the last time you saw a block with just a single transaction? Satoshi days?

Indeed, I was wrong. I was sure you had to have a transaction with no change.

Yeah, nice blocks, enjoying the show !

There is someone sending lots of 1BTC from 1.01 outputs which result in 0.0099 change right now. Are those tx valid or not?

I think since you have a change address those are not valid.... what a waste of BTC...
649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCP] Counterparty Protocol, Client and Coin (built on Bitcoin) - Official on: February 02, 2014, 06:49:49 PM
is blockchain.info as exact (a few minutes lag would be ok)? Can not access the above site..

Yes, actually it's better to look at blockchain.info (only 10 blocks left) It seems that the confirmations are a bit quicker than 10m on average these days, so I woudn't bet on more than 1h to make your last burn.
650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCP] Counterparty Protocol, Client and Coin (built on Bitcoin) - Official on: February 02, 2014, 06:42:24 PM
can someone confirm whether the burn period is still on?

Yes, but it's almost over (More or less 2 hours as I type this message)

Chack on the http://www.blockscan.com/ front page and you'll see how much blocks are left to burn.

2. Double check addresses. Most lost coins are because people typo an address.

With the checksum, a typo is highly unprobable (except for NXT and clones that doesn't have a checksum)

I just woke up and see the site's server isn't responding.

I'm looking into it now and will report back.

He certainly knows his audience.

(and bitcoin was worth 200$ when IPO happened, so good gain nontheless)

lol

Trusting anything/anyone on the Internet is hard in some cases and you have to be able to discern what is good and what is bad.

Sure, I even prefer trusting a total stranger than a proved scammer.

mcxBUX is an experiment.
Realsolid will use his own money to assure the dollar parity with sell wall and buy wall.

So 1 bux = 1$

You can earn bux by chatting and with referal :
- 100 chatline give you 0.1 bux
- A new IP clicking on your referal link will give 0.1 bux

my referal link : https://mcxnow.com/?r=bidji29

You can use Bux to buy protrader account on the site and to payban people.
In the future it will be a currency for gaming/gambling

TL:DR mcxBUX is a sockpuppet generator

Quote
After the fundraiser closes, the total sum of ether produced will be denoted as X and we will instantiate a premine of 0.50*X for the fiduciary members, early stakeholders, strategic partners, a pool for use between the conclusion of the fundraiser and the launch of mining and finally a long term endowment. Specific percentages will be discussed in the Prospectus to be released on the day of the fundraiser (Feb 1st)
