721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Internet is one limitation of bitcoin on: May 13, 2023, 10:46:39 PM
I am facing a real world issue that prevents me from using Bitcoin.

I live in Pakistan and for last three days cellular internet service all across the country is suspended because of prevailing law and order situation. Internet is working on fixed line connection that is reaching homes. So there is still some connectivity available.

If government shut down internet service even on fixed line connection then there will be complete internet blackout in the country and in that situation we cant use bitcoin.

I think this is also one of limitation of bitcoin that we need internet to use it.
It is true that bitcoin needs the internet in order to be used at all, but is it really such a great limitation? Maybe if this was the early nineties I would agree, but the internet is only getting faster, more readily available and it is becoming one of the keys for the success of any modern society.

And even if governments can shutdown the internet to stop bitcoin, would they dare? This will affect the economy of their countries in a major way, and at the end it would not solve anything, because as soon as they activated the internet again then bitcoin will work again as if nothing happened.

Nowadays, cutting off the internet for a long time is impossible when every device depends on it.  internet and electricity are two things like food and water to a person. Without either, a healthy person will become weak and lead to death if this condition persists. as far as I know, what's going on in Pakistan, the government is disrupting the internet for political purposes, not for bitcoin.  So this situation will be resolved soon.
722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you still do business with them? on: May 13, 2023, 10:34:16 PM
Bittrex US declare its bankruptcy due to unfriendly sentiment within the country and mainly because of the SEC complaint[1]. On the other hand, FTX, Celsius, Voyager Digital, and other things you mentioned are simply bankrupt due to mismanagement of funds and subpar risk management.

Those two cases are on another level, besides, as other have mentioned, Bittrex Global are still operating. With that said, Bittrex might still doing fine while the others should be avoided if they even dare to reopen.

[1] https://www.sec.gov/news/press-release/2023-78

Exactly only Bittrex US declared bankruptcy for the reason you mentioned, Bittrex Global is still operating normally.  but it seems many people are unaware of this news and are discussing it negatively. I am not on the side of centralized exchanges, but we need to verify information carefully before it spreads.  this is a negative news that affects the reputation of Bittrex while they are still operating normally in other countries except the US.
723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New coin - PEPE on: May 10, 2023, 02:18:03 PM
Unfortunately, I didn't receive any pepe from the drop, but this memecoin is a new trend. But on the other side, this is a really shitcoin and its price will not be increasing with stability. May be necessary to add more description about this memecoin.

If you miss it, you shouldn't regret it as investing in a meme is very risky, especially when it is already well known and has a sizable market cap.  i am not too strict with those who invest memecoin for the ultimate purpose of profit.  But we should not focus too much on them, if investing should only invest a little bit as gambling. focusing on bitcoin is still better.
724  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is buying BTC now, the best option ??? on: May 10, 2023, 02:09:12 PM
.

As a short term trader, I have an edge to other traders and investors. I usually buy bitcoin in future but my holding time is just hours or even minutes.I usually do swing trading in short term time frame like 1hr and 30 minutes time frame. My strategy is simple, I plot the key levels and I just put an order on the key levels with cut losses, entry point and target profit and I just waiting for any orders that will be hit.

what is the short term trader's advantage? For me, as a trader or holder, both have pros and cons, it cannot be said that only short term trading has an advantage. the only advantage of short-term trading is that it can make quick profits, but the risk is greater because bitcoin is very volatile in the short term and difficult to predict.  in return, long-term holding will not be able to generate quick profits, but it will become less stressful, and the profits are almost more certain than trading.
725  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will The FED pivot? on: May 10, 2023, 01:28:10 PM
USA CPI Data Update:
CPI:
4.9% YoY, 0.4% MoM
Forecasted: 5.0% YoY, 0.4% MoM

Core:
5.5% YoY, 0.4% MoM
Forecasted: 5.5% YoY, 0.4% MoM

Its a great news guys, the inflation is falling gradually if not drastically. Now, hopefully the fed wont raise its interest rates the next month. Markets are already celebrating today's data anyways.

i think they will stop raising rates next June because not only has inflation come down, but they have already reached their initial target of 5%-5.25%.  but I'm not in a hurry to cheer even if they stop raising rates because we don't know how long they will keep rates at that high level. if they want to maintain them for the next 6 months or a year, that will be much worse than we think. but it's good to see the market reacting positively to this news, bitcoin is back above $28k.
726  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which wallet should be used to keep bitcoin safe? on: May 10, 2023, 01:21:12 PM
I use Coinbase wallet, I find Coinbase wallet very safe.  Coinbase wallet is best for holding bitcoins. But if one wants to invest bitcoins without holding then trust wallet is better.  However, many people are worried about wallets because each person suggests different wallets.  However, hardware wallets are much safer than software wallets.

Although there have not been any problems for those, who have been using the 2 wallets you mentioned.  but it is very risky to use them to store your bitcoins, both are closed source wallets, and it is not more secure than Electrum or other open source wallets.  I recommend moving all your bitcoins out of them and finding yourself a real non-custodial wallet.  i recommend you and OP to use Electrum as I mentioned earlier.
727  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which wallet should be used to keep bitcoin safe? on: May 09, 2023, 01:14:40 PM
i'm using the desktop version of Electrum, and I'm happy with it, I've been using it for five years and haven't had any problems.  but I think using a hot wallet and constantly being connected to the internet will not guarantee the security of your bitcoins, even if you are sure your security is very good.
I'm just a small investor and don't have a lot of bitcoins so I don't think I need a hardware wallet yet.  But if you have a lot of bitcoins then you are better off buying a hardware wallet, which is the best choice for storing bitcoins.
728  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the benefits of investing in bitcoin trading? on: May 09, 2023, 01:06:26 PM
In general, Bitcoin is a digital currency that is not controlled by any bank or government. Though, Bitcoins can be useful in trading goods, services, and other currencies.

If you do a Bitcoin trading then you can make more online money with this factor. Here are the benefits of investing in Bitcoin trading:

1. You can easily make online money with Bitcoin.

2. Bitcoin trading is very safe and secure because it has been created with all the security checks in place

3. If you know how to use Bitcoin trading successfully then you can definitely generate more online money.

are you a newbie? this is the mistake of most of the new entrants to the market.  I don't have the best advice or lesson for you, I just want to tell you, making money by investing in bitcoin is not easy, making money in this market is not easy either. it can be said that it is more difficult to make money in real life because of volatility, and scams... many things will make you lose money than make easy money. knowledge is what you need, not a hasty investment when you don't have any knowledge.
729  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is going down. on: May 09, 2023, 12:38:29 PM
do you mean the current high transaction fees are good for bitcoin? we always say that bitcoin is better than the banking system as a low-cost form of cross-border money transfer. but with the current situation, things are getting worse and causing serious congestion, not only the transaction fees are increasing, but the transfer time will also be up to several days. I don't think this is good for bitcoin's reputation.
if there is no regular buy and sell in the market, meaning demand for bitcoin falls, the price of bitcoin will plummet.

It Relatively lower when considering sending huge some amount of Bitcoin in that regards, And when compared with what would be charged if doing a million or billion dollars Cross boarder transaction on fiat and in terms of execution time/speed of the transaction, it still faster than the time it will take for someone to send fiat currency to another country, I do believe more technology will be available on the Bitcoin's network in the future, in order to reduce transaction cost just as using the Lightning network LN, is cheaper right now.

there have been some solutions to the bitcoin transaction fee problem like Lightning, but it's still not widespread and I don't know why people don't implement Lightning on all their platforms.  What you said is not wrong when comparing fees and transaction times with large amounts like billions of dollars, bitcoin dominates. but what about the small transactions in the past few days?  we must evaluate fairly, not ignoring the disadvantages but only emphasizing the advantages. Bitcoin is good but imperfect, and we should look at it to find a solution rather than ignore it.
730  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: May 09, 2023, 12:42:41 AM
I know they had a perfect performance in the previous week and they won the game with an amazing result against Wolfsburg, and Wolfsburg is not a weak team but in the end, they got three points from this game while if they had this performance in the previous week against other teams they could be on top of the table instead of Bayern Munich, I think the only hope for Dortmound is to wait and hope for Bayern Munich to lose some points.
Dortmund produces a talented player every year and generates incredible sales revenue. In fact, the team has been working in this format for a long time. They don't have much presence in places like the champions league because that's not what they're aiming for. Their goal is to generate huge income from transfers. Their main achievement is, how do they find these football players? Really incredible job.
What they have to do next is wait for Bayern to lose points. Perhaps one of the hardest things for a team is waiting for Bayern to lose points.
They won against Wolfsburg with a very good score. In fact, they were good throughout the season, but it is unfortunate that they fell behind Bayern. In the remaining weeks, nothing is certain. Football can surprise us.

Dortmund still has a chance to win the title.  for that to happen, Bayern Munich first has to lose!  It still won't matter if Bayern Munich and Dortmund finish on the same points because Dortmund is behind on goal difference. it's a big goal difference! Dortmund has to win all the rest and Bayern Munich has to lose one.  Dortmund can't win the title any other way. Definitely, football can surprise us!
731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 08, 2023, 04:02:54 PM

Xabi Alonso has impressed many people with his doing a pretty good work with Leverkusen so far which is his first manager job. After this success his name has been linked with Tottenham and Real Madrid lately. Tottenham haven't still made their permanent manager transfer since Conte's departure. They are looking for the right name who can help this team win some titles.

On the other hand, Real Madrid are about to lose Ancelotti this summer as it seems. Because his name has been called with Brazil national team job for a while. Brazil board also seem eager to see Ancelotti managing their team. So he might be likely to join them directly in the summer. It looks like Real Madrid lean towards their old player Xabi Alonso to manage them next.

However it seems like he has ended the speculations by confirming that he will stay at Leverkusen for at least one more season. But I still wonder if he changes his mind if he gets an official offer from Real Madrid.  Huh   But it would be an unprofessional action to take by him then after making this kind of a statement.

He might actually change his mind when he actually gets an official offer from Real Madrid. At the same time, he is also bringing really good results with Leverkusen, it will also make sense if he wants to stay in this club. Probably he wants to bring a really good result with Leverkusen before going to any top club!

I don't know if Real Madrid is actually going to offer him anything officially!?! Real Madrid will also wait and see if he can do better in Leverkusen before sending him an official offer. At the same time, Real Madrid is also losing their coach, so they will have to bring in someone very soon
732  Economy / Speculation / Re: When to buy one time off bitcoin. on: May 08, 2023, 10:53:55 AM
I don't think you will find the answer to your question because we all know bitcoin is unpredictable that's why we have DCA strategy.  if you don't want to use DCA, it's hard to know when is the best time to buy bitcoin. but if you believe in history and if history repeats itself then this year's market will be like 2019's market.  that means we still have a chance of bitcoin falling below $20k again and possibly by the end of the year.  I'm not sure, but that's what happened in 2019 and 2020.
733  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin be trusted? on: May 08, 2023, 10:47:35 AM

don't trust bitcoins? it's the same as not trust in the crypto industry !

Exactly.  bitcoin is the most trusted coin in this market, if even we don't trust bitcoin, we shouldn't trust this whole industry.  when comparing bitcoin to physical assets like gold and real estate, it is true that bitcoin is riskier.  but in return, bitcoin is risky, but the return will also be higher than other safe assets.  So investing in bitcoin is very fair, if you can accept the risk, you will get the reward you deserve.
734  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is going down. on: May 08, 2023, 10:42:16 AM
Current situation with transaction fees and mempool might play good for Bitcoin (but not for everyone), as it might become a cryptocurrency for rich only, for those who can afford to spend a lot on fees. Thus Bitcoin might become more demanded than it is now, which should push the price up. Fewer people would allow to buy it, making Bitcoin more precious. The current price drop imo is cause by a small panic or better say misunderstanding among users.

do you mean the current high transaction fees are good for bitcoin? we always say that bitcoin is better than the banking system as a low-cost form of cross-border money transfer. but with the current situation, things are getting worse and causing serious congestion, not only the transaction fees are increasing, but the transfer time will also be up to several days. I don't think this is good for bitcoin's reputation.

735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does it take to become a Bitcoin investor on: May 08, 2023, 10:32:18 AM
after all, it's just a fictional name.  when you own bitcoin, you are already an investor, but being an investor does not mean you will get a return on your investment.  what is the goal of the investment? It's profit, so making a profit is more important than people calling you a bitcoin investor.

If you just want people to call you a bitcoin investor, then by owning 100 satoshis, you are already a bitcoin investor.
Well, I don't know, it's like saying that you are an investor because you own one share of Coca Cola, but what is the purpose of such an "investment"?

For me, this is not an investment, it's just the first step, an attempt to create something, it's definitely not an investment. I see on the forum they create topics asking if it is possible to start buying bitcoin with $ 30 a month, in fact, you can start buying with any amount, but you will not become an investor from this, it will take too much time to create some kind of more or less significant investment.

I don’t want to name any amount, it will be different for everyone, but in the end you need to be realistic and understand what the investment can lead to if bitcoin reaches, for example, the price of 100k. Therefore, everyone can calculate the prospects for their investments.

if owning bitcoin does not make you an investor, then if someone wants to become a bitcoin investor, what are the necessary and sufficient conditions?  can you tell me what is the definition of an investor?  and in case OP's friend owns 0.8 BTC, is he not a bitcoin investor?
I also don't want to mention the amount invested because everyone has a different economy, and I think it has nothing to do with being an investor.
736  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC 100K FOR 2024 ! on: May 08, 2023, 10:25:55 AM

so expecting a new ATH this year is almost impossible unless there is a change that history does not repeat, we have a new history...Many are predicting that bitcoin will hit $100k in the next bull season, which is a beautifully rounded number, but I think it will be even higher than what people want.
So far the halving is one of the factors that can be called very fundamental to expect the bitcoin price to increase rapidly. Obviously there is no certainty about what the highest number will be after the halving, but in history bitcoin has always managed to record new ATH after the halving. That $100k seems too low when bitcoin can record 3x its previous ATH.

for me, halving is the most important catalyst for us to see new ATH.  we don't know if things will change, but history has proven it 3 times, and we have every right to hope it happens again. I will still believe in history until bitcoin makes new history for us.

Something to think about right now is not about how much new ATH bitcoin will be after the halving, but how to increase this investment portfolio so that it can get good returns if the 2024 halving can hit new ATH. DCA and accumulation, that's good advice, so now is the time.

that's what I'm doing, I don't really care too much when bitcoin will hit the new ATH. Because I believe it will definitely happen in the future.  Even if history doesn't repeat itself, a new ATH will still be generated on another day.
737  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the price gets to $60k this year? on: May 07, 2023, 01:29:40 AM
Looking at the current market situation of course I have no doubt that the $60k price will be reached soon, the problem is what are our preparations before the $60k price occurs, of course the best thing is to keep buying and don't panic when the price drops.

bitcoin will hit $60k, which is not a very high target, but to say that will happen this year is very difficult.  the market has recovered better than last year, but that doesn't mean it will continue to grow without a hitch. we have been struggling with the 30k resistance for a long time, I think we will have a hard time breaking above $30k this month. moreover, May has not been a good month for the market in the past.
738  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC 100K FOR 2024 ! on: May 07, 2023, 01:09:50 AM

65K Last year record price ever !

I think this year it might be full 100K Final bullrun for the coin.

ATH is only generated after the halving, and the halving is more than 365 days away, so expecting a new ATH this year is almost impossible unless there is a change that history does not repeat, we have a new history...Many are predicting that bitcoin will hit $100k in the next bull season, which is a beautifully rounded number, but I think it will be even higher than what people want.
739  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is $30 dollars worth starting bitcoin? on: May 07, 2023, 12:59:37 AM
for bitcoin, there is no limit when we start investing. I mean, we can start with whatever money we have. but bitcoin is not a get-rich-quick tool, nor is it something that can turn $30 into $300,000 or $3 million.  it can give you more substantial returns than any other asset, but it also has its limits. if you want to experience the market, $30 is a perfect place to start but if you intend to get rich with that bit of money, then bitcoin is not for you.
740  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does it take to become a Bitcoin investor on: May 07, 2023, 12:47:31 AM
I have a close friend who recently purchased 0.8 Bitcoins and when we met he was happy and was like " I am now a Bitcoin investor"
At that point I go this question in mind ;what does it really take to become a Bitcoin investor .does it mean that if you own a considerable amount of Bitcoin in your wallet you are now a Bitcoin investor or there is more to it aside having a basic knowledge of crypto currencies

after all, it's just a fictional name.  when you own bitcoin, you are already an investor, but being an investor does not mean you will get a return on your investment.  what is the goal of the investment? It's profit, so making a profit is more important than people calling you a bitcoin investor.
