It hurts a lot to see current DRK price. The constant drop of price is starting to wear my patience thin. If the price keeps falling below 700 mark then I would have no option left but to dump and say good bye

Do it - sell your coins, if you aren't prepared to wait for quality. Sick of these impatient kids wanting price rises every hour or they sell.

Investing in DRK is more than just a pump train. Its investing and believing that DRK will change the crypto world as we know it.

I've been burnt on those stupid pumps before, I dont bother anymore.

Just a quick update with RC4 testing, denominating looks to be working alot better now with the latest version Evan released.

I have 2 test wallets which both denominated through masternodes very quickly. Once they were sent back I Darksent+ some coins from one wallet to another, went through flawlessly.

Of course there are still some bugs and optimisation thats being worked on but feels like things are coming together as they should be!!

Wow I think thats the first 8 masternode round Darksend+ transaction.....I can smell it, we are getting closer!

a lot of people are waiting to releive the bag they are holding.

ahh incase you havent noticed there are now 830 masternodes, there is more people actually locking their coins away...well the smart ones anyways.
726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | RC4 Testing on: July 29, 2014, 08:06:21 AM
If any of you haven't looked in a while, there is so much amazing work going on by so many people, and you can get a glimps by peeking at the threads here:

https://darkcointalk.org/forums/official-developer-thread.15/

And the testing threads.  Ideas pop up, and I'm not even checking IRC, which I suspect is equally exciting.  Look at the work being done on the wallet GUI, someone just came in asking about usability for himself, because he is blind!  Wow, nobody thought about this!  He wants to run a masternode!  So immediately DRKLord is thinking of a temp solution.  It's just amazing the talent out there and their willingness to put their time into this.  Just makes me feel so good about Darkcoin and it's future.

Cheesy  Cheesy  Yaaay, for all you young smartiepants Wink

Its things like this that reinforce that the dev team is world class Cheesy - that made my day so thanks!

Here is the post if anyone is interested: https://darkcointalk.org/posts/13506/

FYI if VirtualBox-4.3.14 does not work, downgrade to 4.3.12 which worked for me on Win7 64.

Same experience. Updated from .12 to .14 few weeks ago and couldn't load my VM's anymore. Downgraded back to .12 and all is ok again.

Thanks guys, Just checked and I am running 4.3.12 as well - will update the guide!

Jesus christ, wow... I think I'm probably required to try after you put the time into that. Lol! thanks!

No problems - the more resources and minds we have to test the better the outcome Smiley

Is there a windows test wallet, or is it only linux? I've been wanting to help but honestly linux scares the shit out of me. Kinda like DOS.

Linux is the OS supported for testing of RC4 at the moment. Dont be too scared, I have taught myself over the past month or 2 and its been a great learning experience.

Virtualbox, Ubuntu & Darkcoin RC4 Testnet Guide

To get you started here is a quick run through of what you can do if you want to run darkcoin RC4 testnet in a virtual on your windows machine Smiley

1) Download virtual box v4.3.12 and install it. (Users have reported issues with v4.3.14) Grab it from here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/virtualbox.mirror/files/VirtualBox%204.3.12/VirtualBox-4.3.12-93733-Win.exe/download

2) Download the latest ubuntu 64bit v14.04 ISO and stick it somewhere on your hdd. You can grab it from here: http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop

3) Create a new Virtual machine in Virtual Box and set the following:
Type / Version: Linux, Ubuntu 64bit
RAM: Give it 1gb or more if you can afford
Harddrive: Create a new VDI Dynamic HDD, 20GB is plenty!

4) Give the new virtual machine the following settings:
Storage:  Click the CD where it says "Empty" under the storage tree then select the little     CD icon on the right which is next to the "IDE Secondary Master" Drop down and select "Choose a virtual CD/DVD disk file. Set the CDROM Drive to mount the Ubuntu 14.04 ISO that you downloaded in step 2.
Network: Set it to Bridged Adapter and choose your desktops network card thats connected to the internet.

5) Start the virtual machine and the Ubuntu OS installer will automatically boot and follow the prompts to install, username, password, computer name etc.

6) Once the install is complete, log in, and from the virtualbox window install the "Guest additions". Click Devices and "Insert Guest Additions CD.." Enter
your root password that you set on install to begin the installation. Once complete restart the VM.

7) Log back in and select the Filing cabinet icon from the left hand menu. The second icon. Once loaded, from the top menu click "Edit-->Preferences" then select the "Show hidden and backup files" checkbox then click close.

8 ) Open firefox from the left hand menu. Third icon. And you can download the latest Darkcoin RC4 binaries from "http://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/rc4/darkcoin-qt" save the file somewhere like your desktop.

9) Right click on the darkcoin-qt file and select the Permissions tab. Click the "Allow executing file as program" check box then click close.

10) Double click on the darkcoin-qt to launch the wallet. Click Accept on the terms and conditions then after a few seconds close the wallet.

11) Open the File Cabinet from the left hand menu. 2nd Icon and click "Computer". Browse to home/'Username'/.darkcoin folder

12) Right click and create a new empty document called "darkcoin.conf" and open the file. Inside the file enter "testnet=1" without the quotes and save and close the file.

13) Launch the darkcoin-qt from the desktop again and you should see the wallet open with a different coloured logo and the title bar indicating you are on testnet.

14) Browse to https://drkipn.com/test/faucet/ to send yourself some testnet coins so you can begin playing around. Note: If you want to see denominating, click on the Darkcoin icon at the top right hand side of the screen and select Options --> Display Tab --> Display Coin Control Features. When you select the send tab you will now see an "inputs" button. Select that to see what's happening to your coins when they are denominated and how many rounds etc.

15) If you want to delve into the debug.log its located in home/username/.darkcoin/testnet3 folder. Look up how to use the linux terminal and the tail command if you want to watch it real-time.

Enjoy Smiley

Relax guys. RC4 will be here soon. Auto denom is getting fixed as we speak. 10 Drk limit will be lifted and markets can start to spring up. Faucet was just a suggestion. Let's welcome people here. If you disagree, just say "I disagree". No need for head cutting.
Evan just posted twice on the testing forum about exactly this on his way to bed. Development on RC4 is moving breakneck fast when youy consider it's basically a complete rewrite of everything that made DRK what it is.

RC4 makes it essentially a completely new coin based on the lessons learned about multi-proofing and anon. It's just called DRK for shits and grins.

Correct, I have been part of the testing and I can say from the first RC4 release to the latest version we have come leaps and bounds.

Evan has fixed the bugs found at lightning speed and done an amazing job updating the testers of what was fixed.

As of the last release the denomination by masternodes is working, but there are still a few bugs to iron out.

Gotta love watching the wallet start automatically denominating into 100's 10's 1's through the masternodes, super exciting.

Total Masternodes: 844 = 831 actives + 13 inactives

If this isnt a sign of serious investment - I dont know what is.

Lets hope we can get around 1000 for RC4. Thats a huge milestone!
734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | RC4 Testing on: July 28, 2014, 07:56:49 AM
I think "the market" is coming to realize that RC4 will be at least a few more weeks in the making - when one reads the testing thread at darkcointalk it certainly seems that way at least. Most people are too impatient and fail to understand that darkcoin team understands how important it is to get RC4 working right before release and want to have a perfect product this time. That being said, it would be nice to get an official progress update. Non technical folks could read this https://darkcointalk.org/threads/rc4-testing.1830 and think that nothing is working properly at this point, which I do not believe is the case.

I hear you
i believe Eltito is back in the game and hopefully he will give us an update soon

Execellent news  - those 2 masternodes at 0.0097 on mintpal are very tempting.

We will recover, someone just needed to pay their rent for the next year lol

12 Masternodes in one hit....

So basically what he's saying is: "I am in fact so materialistic, selfish, and insecure that I must list all my possessions to bolster my vain ego."

Nice. What a classy guy.

It gets better, not only is bob a troll who pumps whatever is new, but is most likely a con artist and criminal. I think we should remind him of this.

Just from reading their whitepaper you know the dev's have no idea and its clearly a scam in the anon hype.

The worst thing is their design, Sender-->Phase1-->Phase2-->Reciever. They have not thought about bad actor scenarios AT ALL.

If you have your wallet open and are selected for a Phase 2 node, the receiver can trace the transaction back to you!

I know I wouldnt want to leave my wallet open to be selected as the Phase 2 node to complete an illegal transaction.

The FBI could just start sending coins through the network to itself or another wallet it owns and capture everyone on the network who is a phase 2 node. GAME OVER.

So for the love of humanity either ignore him or don't quote him so I don't have to see what a dumb brain he has developed.
