Guys, we have a problem.
After sending out to about 35k, our wallet file became corrupted.
we're trying to recover the keys, but it's both encrypted and corrupted and at this point we have no idea how to recover them, if they are even there
(the keys might not even be there, if the client only flushed a part of the file)
If anybody can help out with that, please do so.
As of right now, the first ~35k addresses (we'll check the exact number soon) have been sent to,
and we can't access the remaining coins
so, this is bacially the same as having distributed to only 35k addresses instead of 50k
and the coin is still Fair, just not the exact way we intended.
We're happy to move forward if we have your support, trying to push it into exchanges, gambling sites, stores etc.
if not, we'll scrap the project and try again with lessons learned.
we also have the option of creating another coin and using the faircoin addresses database to distribute the new coin
what do you say?

They are still coming and probably will be for a few more days yet. I was somewhere around 27000 when I got my first token and haven't received anything yet. To get all the way through all 49750 will take a while. Because we all know how fair it is to slowly roll payments out so some people get coins before others. While it is on an exchange, allowing people who get their coins first to dump before everyone else. This coin is so ironic. First a very skewed distribution because of people gaming the system. Some of us have lives and cannot sit in front of computers all day gaining stake and then there are those who used scripts and bragged about it on the forum. Then this staggered release where people who get their coins first can start trading days before other people. I hope you guys are happy. Everyone in this thread claiming it is 'fair' also has a bunch of stake and are displaying skewed judgment. The coin really should not claim fairness, it does not hold up. In fact it is one of the less fair distribution systems. Holding much less stakes as you expected? You can buy more when dumping. And again, this coin is not on any exchange untill all coins have been distributed. |

I thought they weren't going to put it on any exchanges until everyone had theirs... doesn't seem really "Fair" if some can sell before everyone has received them. The distribution will be finished within 2days, I think. Near half of them have been delivered. How did you know how much have been sent? Guess! |

Yes, as long as winning an Exchange vote is under the proviso that Faircoin doesn't go live until all coins are distributed. And Cryptorush is bloody awful tbf. Added my 20 votes anyway  Cmon guys, we can beat that DinnerCoin thats currently on top Seeing how the votes grow for Faircoin at CryptoRush, I'd say this coin has been "widely" distributed even though not perfectly-fairly distributed. I've seen a few of these cases where there are just too many skeptics in the start and with all these scams who can blame them... but then you miss out on the truly great opportunities such as this. I agree. It's just sad that most (if not everyone) was looking forward to selling the coins when it hit the exchange by tomorrow. Quick profit and very few holders for the long-haul. So many sellers and too few buyers driving the price down. There are a lot of buyers in this thread offering a low price. While there are more sellers offering a too high price. When the coin hit the exchange, the price will catch to a proper level. |
