721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Someone just paid $2,6M in fees while sending just $133 in ETH on: June 10, 2020, 12:04:48 PM

I am pretty much this was because of fat fingers, but how an earth there's no security measures for this kind of thing? It's 2020 already and after seeing this kind of mistakes, i am pretty sure that ETH adoption is further away. Just one warning message informing about the possible huge mistake could have saved millions for this guy.

Edit (12.6.2020):
- There are now 3 transactions with abnormal fees so we can pretty much rule out any mistake. Even though the third was from another address, it's just too much of a coincidence.
- New theory arises that this is a blackmail attempt

Edit: 17.6.2020
Eth is now distributed to the mining pool contributors as it has been unclaimed

722  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Picasso artwork sold for crypto on: June 10, 2020, 10:47:53 AM
Money laundering at its finest
Most likely, but I find it more like a shilling using Picasso's name for promoting this token they mentioned.

To me it looks more like a fake drawing that wasn't even his, which was "bought" to bring people in to this token..
Same perception, I am 99% its not one of Picasso. He should at least taken here so the acting would be looks real. Pablo Picasso Painting

W A  R  N  I  N  G obvious shill from IDON project.

Even if that would be a real Picasso would be still just a photo of a Picasso picture. And that proves nothing what so ever about this transaction.

There are no real outside sources about this story and the information the site provides is vague at best. The contact addresses on Idoneus website obviously host lots of shell companies and the whole idea is just laughable. I mean imagine people going trough shady exchanges with non-existing liquidity to buy valuable art when there's other options available that are actually safe.

This is like asking for someone to help and call an ambulance and they would respond: "Why you specificly? Ambulance is for everyone!"
Not every protest can be about you and no one ever claimed that all lifes don't matter.
724  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Facebook for Crypto? Anonymous Social Network (Idea) on: June 09, 2020, 09:19:10 PM
Hello guys,

What do you think about it make a social network for crypto enthusiast with instant messages, friend system live chat with rooms and more?
I've been thinking about this idea and I'm interested in what you think about it.

You could just make a pseudonym to facebook or in twitter and ask your crypto enthusiast friends to do the same and start a community. Or you could just use Steemit, Hive, Minds, MeWe, Note Blockchain and others.

https://wr.reddit.com/r/socialism/search?q=bitcoin

Majority of the posts are negative, and those that are not negative are very noncommittal, and the posts that praise Bitcoin are a tiny minority.

Ah, from reddit, i don't follow ay political channels in there at all so i wouldn't know.

My experience is mostly same as with everyone. And that is the fact that most People just don't understand Bitcoin regardless of their political background (for example they dislike bitcoin and praise blockchain). So their opinions are pretty much meaningless to me.

But that was just one question about the remark, if you want, let's continue this on the "Politics & Society" as that's a proper section for this.

Just a hint for the future, you have to limit your search to subreddit like this
https://wr.reddit.com/r/socialism/search?q=bitcoin&restrict_sr=on

Otherwise it will just search all the reddit.
726  Economy / Exchanges / Re: People accusing Coinbase of selling customers' trading activities on: June 09, 2020, 10:31:49 AM
Problems with coinbase are alarming but i never thought it as a trading platform anyway. It was always just easist place for beginners to buy their bitcoins from. Well there are others as well but Coinbase has been around so long that i think it has been reliable enough.

And with selling blockchain analysis software to the IRS, i really don't see what's the fuzz about, they would get that data eventually.
Or do people really think that exchanges that are dealing with fiat money and cryptos shouldn't comply with regulators? By all means, but how long would these exchanges last? If you think this is bad, wait for them enforcing the travel rule.
727  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need help! on: June 09, 2020, 07:51:11 AM
Are you referring to dice token from Yobit exchange? If so, I think it has no blockchain or no wallet to store this cryptocurrency. Yobit creates such token which has no real existence other than their exchange.

Yes it is from yobit.net, I tried trading using other cryptocurrency on yobit, but I dont know how can I trade dice, can you help me about it?

It's going to be tradeable at 1st of July 2020. I wouldn't hold my breath that it has any value though. I mean who would buy that? We have no info on supply, it don't seem to have a reason to exist and every yobit user did get airdropped 7M of them, Only thing you can do with it to play dice  Roll Eyes.

Leftists hate Bitcoin, they go nuts when they discover that some people get rich from investing in Bitcoin in the early days. They also hate the idea of private citizens controlling their own money, they want the revolutionaries to be in charge of everything.

It's no coincidence that you won't find many leftists on this forum, and that a lot of people here are libertarians and conservatives - Bitcoin is a radical form of capitalism.

"Leftist" here, I don't know where you get your views, i don't hate bitcoin or rich people. But i agree that this didn't seem at all like a leftist scenario and far from any possible scenario. It was more like the Robin Hood story put on the cheap sci-fi form. I wish i knew who write these scenarios, because it sounds like a teenager wrote this one.

I hope you have noticed that virtacoin is:

not a scam, not a scam, not a scam

Funny. Link on the announcement doesn't work. Link on the coinmarketcap doesn't work. Last github activity was 6 years ago and its not listed in anywhere. I wouldn't use the word scam. Scams have way more effort put into them. This is just a dead project.

730  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 'Trump Designates Antifa "A Terrorist Organization"' on: June 08, 2020, 12:52:41 PM
Because Antifa is now designated a terrorist ORGANIZATION.
Designated by whom? By Trump? That's not how words work. Reinventing the terminology doesn't really solve anything.
Just like it would be meaningless to designate Bitcoin as a company in order to shut it down. Just by saying it doesn't change how it operates.

So what exactly do you want to argue? That's wrong?

You are catching up. It's not an organization.

Figured that's what you'd do. You did in fact read that "somewhere on the Internet" and believed it.

Funny how you consider wikipedia article as "somewhere on the internet". Compared to what source exacly?

This was basically common knowledge and no one didn't want to challenge it before president snowflake came along.
I could argue that current director of FBI has also stated that they view antifa more as ideology then organization, but i guess you woudn't care now would you? Because of your expertise feelings about it?
733  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 'Trump Designates Antifa "A Terrorist Organization"' on: June 07, 2020, 10:10:22 AM

As for XYZ being a "loosely affiliated network that doesn't have a head" how about if you want to assert that, you have the burden of proving it? Let me guess, you read that somewhere on the Internet and believed it?

Or do you think that because a couple liberals here agreed with you that you are right? It doesn't work that way.
...

Lot's assumptions you got there. I was pointing out why i don't think that antifa is not an organization. If you disagree with me on that, start by editing wikipedia and please explain it in there that why it's suddenly actually an organization. After that we can debate on the relevance of your references. If they are solid, i'll agree with you. Before that, the burden of proof lies on you.

Because no one seems to be asking this, i'll start. How exactly is US economic catastrophe is caused by anti-racism movement? Recession has been predicted long time ago.
And how exactly we shall see it impacting btc?
735  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 'Trump Designates Antifa "A Terrorist Organization"' on: June 04, 2020, 11:23:59 PM
So the groups own website is not proof enough? The guide published by ANTIFA detailing how to start a group isn't enough?

[slaps "CONSPIRACY" sticker on it] "Yep, no need to reply now"

Just because you refuse to read it doesn't change the fact that I documented they are in fact a collection of organized groups.

You do realize how network works? Anyone can pose as ANTIFA, even nazis. It's a loosely affiliated network that doesn't have a head.

How can you even watch the protests and claim that ANTIFA are organized when all you see is angry mob mentality of frustrated people, and in the contrast you see the police forces that are actually organized in comparison. Organizations need to have hierarchy to work properly.

Reason why i refuse to go trough your weird mount of "evidence" is because i've dealed with conspiracy theorists before and this is how they operate. Instead of focusing on providing clear proof with precision, they will bury you under the vague "evidence" that is often a pile of videos, sites, etc, and at this point usually people leave them alone and they think they have won the argument because no one with a life doesn't have time to watch that crap. And even if you waste your time debunking them one by one, it doesn't matter; They will just keep pouring more video links from their years of basement "research" from vague sites where they have connected some dots in their heads while searching for something more meaningful. Truth is just too boring for them and it's never enough.

If you wouldn't want to sound like a conspiracy theorist you would have more systematic approach on providing evidence, but that would require actual proof.
Just to be clear, the burden of proof is on you. Mountain of nonsense is not evidence. You are not teaching me anything, you are trying to shut me up.
736  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 'Trump Designates Antifa "A Terrorist Organization"' on: June 02, 2020, 07:58:55 PM
*cut*
I did in fact document that they are an organization.
*cut*

Yeah, i am not going to waste my time browsing ~30 articles or videos from vague conspiracy sites or for your amusement, i have stuff to do.
If you had actual proof, you would be more specific.
737  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 'Trump Designates Antifa "A Terrorist Organization"' on: June 02, 2020, 05:02:11 PM
Weren't Americans fighting facists in WW2? Should they also punish the veterans retroactively?

I can call myself a WW2 veteran just like I can call myself an "antifascist". That doesn't magically make me either one of those things.

This comparison doesn't make sense in any level.

*cut*
ANTIFA does in fact have leaders, organizations, and spokesman as I have already documented.

No you haven't. Did you even read what i said? Do i need to repeat myself?
literally anyone opposing fascists can call themselves antifa

Network isn't a same thing as organization, and is that antifa merchandise supposed to be a proof of some kind? Proof of what?
That i can just make and sell my own antifa gear?

Anyway this was just another outburst and a weak gesture from Trump trying to distract our attention to elsewhere. And (should i lend the term) "useful idiots" will eat it up.
738  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 'Trump Designates Antifa "A Terrorist Organization"' on: June 02, 2020, 12:27:21 PM
So the violent extremist left has killed off the old Antifa, skinned it, and wears that skin as a shroud to ward off complaints about it's intents and purpose.

The Left has done this sort of thing many times. It's nothing new.

Only purpose "Antifa" has ever had is to oppose fascists. Antifa is a wide spectrum of people, literally anyone opposing fascists can call themselves antifa. And i wouldn't call people burning buildings "left side" because left side wants a big government and often comply with rules without any hesition, (wearing masks etc), so destroying govenrment property doesn't suit that ideology. People who are burning buildings are frustrated and that frustration doesn't need to have anything to do with right/left axel.

Also antifa doesn't have "leaders" so it's hardly organization or has a spokesman. Rounding up some activists that happen to oppose Facism as well as many other things doesn't do anything to this mystical "Antifa".

So sue me, i am antifa.
