In India's first Test with South Africa, India suffered an innings defeat as well as a fine which was a big blow for them. It would have been one thing if the fine was only on money. But due to the slow bowling rate, two penalty points were deducted from the Test Championship points table and a fine of ten percent of the match fee was levied. As strong as India is as a team, it was disappointing to see the Test end in just three days. Test match is basically the combination of every player in the team and India could not show that.

As a result of the penalty, now India has slipped to 6th place in the points table for World Test Championship. Rohit's captaincy was quite poor throughout the match. Despite Siraj, Prasidh and Shardul being unsuccessful, he persisted with them and refused to provide enough overs to Ravichandran Ashwin. And this was also one of the reasons for poor over rate. And now Avesh Khan has been added to the test squad. Along with Arshdeep, Avesh seems to be one of the blue eyed boys of the selectors. He gets frequent chances, when promising youngsters still wait for their first Indian cap.

Yes, Rahmanullah Gurbaz's century in the first match of the T20 series was truly remarkable. Rahmanullah Gurbaz though got out after playing 52 balls. He managed to hit 7 fours and 7 sixes in 52-ball game. Such a great game by Rahmanullah Gurbaz is really admirable. Rahmanullah Gurbaz's century helped Afghanistan score a good total in today's match. Afghanistan team played very well at the batting site. Afghanistan batted in the first innings and played 20 overs, losing 3 wickets and giving United Arab Emirates a target of 204 runs. Now the victory of Afghanistan depends on the bowling of the bowlers of the Afghanistan team

Third consecutive defeat for the United Arab Emirates. After heavy defeats in the two match ODI series, now they have suffered a 72 run defeat in T20I match. The only plus point for UAE was the 70 from Vriitya Aravind. For Afghanistan, this series is more like match practice ahead of the T20I World Cup of 2024. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran should be happy with their individual contributions today. It was just too easy for the Afghan batsmen out there. Among the UAE bowlers, only Aayan Afzal Khan put up any sort of resistance.

This isn't the first time batting collapse happened, and I promise this isn't going to be the last, either.

Rohit achieved great heights too while being a captain and one defeat in the final now the whole things changed against him and irony is he mentioned that in the mid WC itself.

All I can point out is India all out for 36 against AUS and then came back and made the history. Smiley

The match that you are talking about happened almost 3 years ago. India got bowled out for 36 in the second innings, and went on to lose the first match. But they came back strongly and won the series 2-1. But then, Indian squad was completely different. They had Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal opening the innings, with Cheteshwar Pujara at no.3 position. Then they had Ajinkya Rahane and Wriddhiman Saha further down the order. Pace bowling was led by Mohammed Shami, with Jasprit Bumrah and Umesh Yadav backing him up. The squad looks very different now.
724  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Women's Cricket Prediction & Discussion - T20 & ODI on: December 29, 2023, 03:03:54 PM
India Women set a target of 283 runs at home, which Australia Women chased down with ease. Had India women set a target of 320+ runs, the game would have been much more competitive. Australia Women had no pressure to chase down the target of 283 runs, easily winning by 6 wickets in 46.3 overs. Australia women's opening batsmen not only one could not be good, moreover all batted well, really Australia women's batsmen are commendable. Australia women lead 1-0 after winning the first match of the three-match series. We will see the second match on December 30. Congratulations to the Australian women's cricket team.

There is no need to blame the batters. India made 282/8 and it was a decent total. They made a good recovery after getting reduced to 182/7. This was a winning total. Even then they lost the match, as a result of poor bowling from their spinners. The pacers did well in the opening spell, but the match slipped out of their hand once Saika Ishaque came to bowl. Then the other spinners (Sneh Rana and Deepti Sharma) also failed to contain the flow of runs. In the end, the Indian women lost a match which they would have won otherwise.

It was pretty sure that Australia will win the match between Australia and Pakistan. Pakistan lost the match by 360 runs in the first match but they won the match by 79 runs in the second match. Pakistan should be happy that despite losing the match, they played much better this time than the first match. Australia is a very strong team in the cricket world like India and South Africa so it is natural that they will win the match if their opponent is a team like Pakistan. However, I will pray for Pakistan that they can play better in the next match

LOL... both India and Pakistan lost their boxing day test match this year. In case of Pakistan, at least they can say that they lost against a tough opponent. And the margin of loss was decent (Pakistan lost their match by 79 runs, while India suffered an innings defeat against a weak South Africa). And in both cases, it was the pacers who set up wins for the victorious team. For South Africa, it was Nandre Burger, Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen. Australia won their match thanks to Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins.

United Arab Emirates will compete against Afghanistan in this T20I match. I have seen a lot of good and strong and experienced batsmen and bowlers in the Afghanistan team squad, so compared to Afghanistan, UAE does not have as many good and experienced batsmen in the squad. Afghanistan team squad includes Ibrahim Jordan, Gurbaz, Mohammed Nabi and many other experienced players who will play a significant role in winning this T20 match today.

But if United Arab Emirates can put pressure on the bowling side, then I think it will be possible to win.

Afghanistan won the two 50 over matches against United Arab Emirates by comprehensive margin. Now they will play 3 T20Is against UAE, and it seems like the outcome will be similar. However, just now Hazratullah Zazai got out to the bowling of Aayan Afzal Khan. Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmanullah Gurbaz are at the crease and if they stay for some time, then Afghanistan should be easily able to make a 200 plus total. Anyway, this is one of those series which benefits no one. I heard that the stadium is mostly empty at Sharjah.

After losing the first Test match to India, the Australian women bounced back in the first ODI match and beat the Indian women's team in that match.
India women team played well in the first ODI they scored 282 runs which was enough to win. However, their bowling was not up to expectations as a result of which they lost to the Australian women's team by a huge margin of 6 wickets.
But Indian women's team has two more chances in front of them if they can win these two matches then they can win the series against Australia women's team.

The Indian squad for test match was very experienced, and they had an advantage over the Australians. On the other hand, the selectors included a number of debutants such as Saika Ishaque and Amanjot Kaur for the ODI squad. These players struggled against the experienced Australian players. And also, the Indian spinners struggled in the first match. A lot was expected from Sneh Rana and Deepti Sharma, but they were very expensive. Hopefully they will comeback tomorrow, when the second WODI will be played.

Although the Indian Women Cricket Team has score good runs of 282 which was even a good target in the way that they have a good bowling but when the Australian Cricket Women score was not good at the first but later they show it towards their victory. Although Jemimah Rodrigues score was good 82 of 77 balls but that all was in vain and also along with her Pooja Vastraker scores 62 of 46 runs.

In women's cricket, totals in excess of 300 are quite rare. So I would say that the target set by India (283) was quite decent. And all of it was due to the partnership between Jemimah Rodrigues and Pooja Vastrakar. They made a good recovery, from 182/7 to 282/8. And then, India got the perfect start when they got Alyssa Healy out (wicket going to Renuka Singh Thakur). However the match slipped out of their hands. Once Renuka and Pooja completed their first spell, the inexperienced bowlers like Saika Ishaque failed to keep up the pressure on the Australians.

To my knowledge Anurag also belongs to power hungry and corrupt family, it goes under the radar because he hails from Himachal.

Likes of Srinivasan-Pawar are worse breed and comparing with Shah's clan won't be right. Shah's family is Power-hungry for sure but it's true for every political family and tbh they earned it and they are not corrupt when compared to other political families.

LOL... I don't know much about Anurag Singh Thakur's family. And I guess hardly anyone outside Himachal has heard about him. I know that he is the son of an ex-chief minister, but mostly they stay out of media limelight. Even as the minister for Information and Broadcasting, I don't hear a lot about him in the media. And I am not sure whether he has any real power, because Jay Shah is the dominant force in BCCI as of now. So even of Anurag wants to do some corruption, it is highly unlikely that he has the freedom to do so.

Bangladesh had the upper hand when it started raining. After 11 overs, New Zealand had made just 72/2. The partnership between Glenn Phillips and Daryl Mitchell was really struggling to score runs, and they had made 14 runs from 22 balls by the time it rained. When Tim Seifert got out, they were 58/2 in 7.2 overs, but then they crawled to 72/2 after 11 overs. Once Seifert got out, other batsmen couldn't keep up with the scoring rate. So it looks as if Bangladesh would have won the match if there was no rain interruption. Anyway, they are up by 1-0 so far.

Pakistan lost their last 5 wickets for just 18 runs. They were 219/5 and then ended up at 237 all out as Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc cleaned up the tail. Nathan Lyon was a big disappointment though, as he returned figures of 19-1-84-0. This is why I had posted that Pakistan did the right thing by selecting 4 seamers in their playing XI. There was nothing for spinners in this pitch and Australia could have selected one additional seamer in the place of Lyon. The last 4 Pakistani batsmen all made 0 runs. They had no answer against the raw pace of Starc and Cummins.

The same old story continues in South Africa. The Proteas' excellent bowling is up against a poor performance by the Indian team, both in bowling and batting.
The Indian team had a really poor show. The South African bowling attack completely dominated the Indian batting lineup. It seems that the strong Indian batting lineup struggles on fast and bouncy tracks. The weaknesses in the Indian batting have been exposed, and it's not much of a surprise.

Ever since South Africa was re-admitted to the ICC (during the post-apartheid period) during the 1990s, they have been producing quality pace bowlers without a break. Initially it was Alan Donald, Shaun Pollock and Fanie de Villiers. Then in the next generation, it was André Nel, Makhaya Ntini and Charl Langeveldt. Then came Dale Steyn, Wayne Parnell and Morné Morkel. Now it is the turn of Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada, with youngsters such as Marco Jansen, Nandre Burger and Gerald Coetzee coming up.

Now it's maine judge that decided to block Trump. Not sure if they are working for or against Trump. US is back to spoil system and the judiciary are more political.
It's so funny to see the democracy of US fall. It were them that rigged elections and staged coup to gain power and influence around the world and now they are left with choices of a corrupt man and a mentally unstable bully. Any option they choose would further escalate the division. With the media and corporation losing their mind and taking desperate action against Trump in fear their panel may lose, we might have a civil war in US next year. I'm not betting on any now.

Please correct me in case I am wrong. The ban was imposed by Shenna Bellows (Secretary of State of Maine), who is a Democrat politician and not a judge. She was the Democrat candidate during 2014 United States Senate election in Maine (in which she lost out to Republican Susan Collins). So blaming the judiciary is not correct at least in this case. And I have said this before. All this drama from the Democrat politicians will end up boosting the sympathy wave for Donald Trump, and his popularity will only increase in the swing states.

Of course the second T20 match will be interesting. Having lost the first match to Bangladesh, New Zealand will definitely try to win the second match. Meanwhile, after winning the first match, Bangladesh will hope to win the second match. If Bangladesh can win today's match then Bangladesh will ensure T20 series win.  So today's match is very important for both the teams. The game will be held at 12:00 PM Bangladesh time. I am a citizen of Bangladesh and wish Bangladesh victory.

New Zealand would be looking for revenge after getting humiliated in the first match. Their top order and middle order batsmen failed against spin as well as pace. As with other teams, New Zealand selectors have gone for a young squad for the T20 format, but from what I can see it is not working that great. Finn Allen, Tim Seifert and Glenn Phillips used to be in such great form, but none of these players made a significant contribution in the first match. It looks possible that at least one of them will be dropped for the second match.

For a moment, it looked as if Babar Azam had regained his lost form. The partnership between Shan Masood and Babar took Pakistan to 110/2, but then Cummins struck and Masood got out. And then Josh Hazlewood nabbed Babar. Pakistan still need another 163 runs to win, with just 6 wickets in hand. Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan are at the crease and Agha Salman is to come next. However, if they lose two more wickets, then the tail will be exposed. Hazlewood got just one wicket, but so far it looked as if he is the best among the Australian pacers.

✂✂✂✂
Pakistan Needs 262 runs to win this test match against Australia and level the series by 1-1.

Target for Pakistan is 317, and they are at 59/2 which means that they need another 258 runs to win. Although it is not theoretically impossible, this target is almost impossible to achieve for Pakistan. On the other hand, Australia have four very experienced test bowlers in Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon. And all of them are in great form as of now. And then, Pakistan top order is in pathetic form. I don't even remember when did Babar Azam scored his last test century. Others like Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan are also not doing that great.

I was thinking that the match between Hobart Hurricanes and Melbourne Stars will get washed out. Somehow they got 7 overs in the second innings and managed to get a result from this match. Glenn Maxwell made 35 from 18 balls and that enabled the Stars to get 2 points from this match. Hobart bowlers, especially Riley Meredith and Nathan Ellis did a good job at the start. But when they were replaced with Chris Jordan and Patrick Dooley, Stars managed to regain the upper hand in the match. Hobart has only one win from 4 matches so far.

Australia were 187/6, and managed to reach 262 all out during first session today. Lower order batsmen made decent contributions, especially Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon. Mir Hamza was quite impressive, returning figures of 18.1-6-32-4, while Shaheen Shah Afridi also managed to pick up 4 wickets although he was expensive at times. Aamer Jamal picked up two as well, but he was quite wayward in this match. Now they have lost their opener (Abdullah Shafique) during the chase and still need another 292. Australia is having a solid upper hand as of now.

Yesterday when India women made 282/8, I though that they had a good chance to win. They were 134/5 when Deepti Sharma got out, but then made a good recovery thanks to the partnership between Jemimah Rodrigues and Pooja Vastrakar. But then, apart from the two opening bowlers (Renuka Singh Thakur and Pooja Vastrakar), none of the Indians managed to trouble the Australian batters. Saika Ishaque was disappointing in her debut, returning figures of 6-0-48-0. Anyway, two more matches remain in this series.

Looks like the match between Hobart Hurricanes and Melbourne Stars will get washed out. Hurricanes got bowled out for just 155, with Haris Rauf and Glenn Maxwell taking 3 wickets apiece for Melbourne Stars. Imad Wasim and Usama Mir also did a decent job, by picking up 1 wicket each. Caleb Jewell and Macalister Wright made decent contributions for Hobart, and interestingly former Punjab Ranji Trophy player Nikhil Chaudhary made 32 from 16 balls (played his last match for Punjab in 2019, before moving to Australia). In his BBL debut last week, he had scored 40 from 31 balls against Perth Scorchers.
