They must be changed or else India will face a big challenge in the second Test as well. Ok we can agree on this but still very few people will expect India to lose from the South Africa team, Isn't? Also, before the start of this test match, the bookies were favoring India to win. Right?

I don't know which bookies were favouring India to win since I placed a bet in a bookie favouring South Africa to win and won my bet primarily because India never won a test series on their turf yet.

The second test will probably go to South Africa too or end in a draw after seeing India's performance in the first test.

Rohit Sharma was out on 2.5 overs and when he was out his team score was 5, and his own score was 0 runs and he used 8 balls. He didn't play well, but his performance was very well in World Cups and tournaments but in test matches and in series his performance went away, and Virat also didn't play well but at least he played better than Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill.

He made some runs but he also can't stay in the pitch for a long time. All the team of India has been low on performance, their pace attack and batting attack, the team of India is incomplete without Hardik Pandeya.

The match that you are talking about happened almost 3 years ago. India got bowled out for 36 in the second innings, and went on to lose the first match. But they came back strongly and won the series 2-1. But then, Indian squad was completely different. They had Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal opening the innings, with Cheteshwar Pujara at no.3 position. Then they had Ajinkya Rahane and Wriddhiman Saha further down the order. Pace bowling was led by Mohammed Shami, with Jasprit Bumrah and Umesh Yadav backing him up. The squad looks very different now.

Like India's first innings, the second innings too suffered a serious batting disaster at first. India batted in front of the lead of 164 runs given by South Africa and two wickets fell for 13 runs at the beginning. Rohit Sharma and Jaiswal failed in the second innings as well as in the first innings. If India collects even 300 runs in this innings then South Africa will definitely win this match. The first innings ended with just 245 runs as India's top-order batsmen failed and similarly the failure in the second innings made India's innings 250 in doubt.

India is likely to lose the first Test match against South Africa. While South Africa scored 408 runs in the first innings, India batted only 245 runs in their first innings and were all out. When India were bowled out for just 245 runs, South Africa took the opportunity to defeat India by an innings and invited India to bat again, where India were batting for 44 runs at the loss of two wickets. India is still far behind South Africa, so India needs to quickly recover that run and set a big target for South Africa. In order to set a big target for South Africa, a good partnership must be made in any batting pair only then Team India can set a big target against South Africa.

India did not have a very good batting performance due to which they could not score many runs. But on the second day, South Africa batted for 408 runs, which was too much and gave a huge lead. And the way India have done their batting performance today, it seems that they can score too many runs in the match and will not be able to give the lead against South Africa. At the moment, though, they have lost three crucial wickets, and are 101 runs short of the lead given by South Africa. Of course, if South Africa can bat their second well, we can expect them to win this Test match.

It has to be called a humiliating defeat for India against South Africa. The margin of runs was not too much and I thought that India would be defeated but I did not think that India would be defeated by the innings margin. When the Indian batsmen were batting in the second innings it seemed that the wicket was very difficult for the Indian batsmen and batting there was even more difficult. 

India is a professional team in all forms of cricket so they should have played professional cricket against South Africa which they could not play. If they could have played professional cricket against South Africa then maybe they would not have lost by an innings against South Africa.

The result of the first test match did not go in India's favor so those who are Indian fans must hope that the result of the second test will go in their favour. They should have put in more effort than India did. As they had enough quality batsmen in their XI, if they had tried their best they might not have been defeated like this. India lost the first test match so we will definitely see a different plan and some changes in the XI in the second test match. Team India can prepare the eleven with a new batsman by excluding two or one batsman from the eleven of the first test match. Hope India will perform better in their second test match and the result of the second test match will go in their favor.

The big margin of loss hit them hard morally which will affect their performance in the second test which is why their chances of winning are on the lower side.

Agreed. Arshdeep and Avesh get chance after chance despite performing poorly majority of the time probably due to great connections. What about bowlers like Chahar, Bishnoi, Mayank etc? Bad management!

I will say this. The Indian team has a good mentality. Players believe in themselves. And they also believe that they can actually make a comeback from bad situations. Now this was definitely a bad performance from India for sure. But that doesn't mean that India is not going to be able to perform well. I believe India is going to be able to make a good comeback from this. Of course, India losing the final of WC, which was the only match that they lost btw, is going to have some effect on the mentality of the players, but the players are surely not that weak, they will be able to cope up with this.

Those who played well on day cricket will hold their nerves and tackle pressure situations. We have seen a lot of times that even India lose matches against Kenya, etc., while England lose against Ireland, and so on, so anyone can win against anyone. While to be honest, India loses against a weak team compared to Pakistan, who's been defeated by the world champion. Indian International test cricket team did not play well in first test match. Indian International test cricket team is lion only in their home ground. Indian International test cricket team will not play good in second test match and South African International test cricket team will win this series easily. Rohit Sharma is flop captain in foreign countries. They can't play in foreign countries. Indian International test cricket team has many weaknesses and they should improve their mistakes. Otherwise, Indian team will lose its standard and then ranking will change and that will be disappointment for Indian International test cricket team.

I am not agreed Pakistan play badly because they have done good work in first inning with bowling even Abdullah Shafiq drop important catch, and they have also done extraordinary performance in second inning with again we have another drop catch by Abdullah Shafiq which bring Pakistan on verge of lost this match by 79 runs in both inning we have poor batting from all with no one try to play with better and positive approach and change of coach and having few injured players are also having impact which are creating problems.
I am really feeling bad what is criteria they use to bring Mohammad Hafeez as coach on this important tour even he is still playing into franchise leagues PCB needs to learn things for the better quality and system of the game in Pakistan.

Here in this first test, we have the worst captaincy from the Rohit Sharma which bring down India in league table with available sources he fails to utilize them as he needed to done even now India having enough options, but they were not able to use these in better way I have feeling most chances we will have same performance in second match as well because still they are not having enough practice for this format which is surely hurting them just with nets we can't expect better performance in test as this is real and best cricket so for the future tours they need to have one or two tour matches which surely helps these youngsters for having better results.

Now we have some serious criticism against Rohit Sharma with this all I have feeling most chances he will be out of this format in near future because things are not going favourable, and he needs to understand this all before it's too late for him.

I don't think any Indian test cricket fan will forget this series in their lifetime.

Rohit didn't play well, but his performance was very well in World Cups and tournaments but in test matches and in series his performance went away, and Virat also didn't play well but at least he played better than Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill.

Well, may be cause India lost the final. Still ruminating over it.

Regarding Virat, I don't expect players to play good in each inning/game, but he's fairly consistent. This applies to Rahul too, in first inning crosses century, in second nothing much.

We could also argue that Virat had no support from other end, otherwise he'd have likely made century.

India needs couple good all rounders. It doesn't seem right when 5th wicket falls and bowlers coming in. Pandya, Jadeja are good but they didn't play, Shami could also bat but he was injured. Ashwin was there, he can bat well but not his days.

India desperately need a pace bowling all-rounder but sadly Pandya is the only choice that I can remember. But India have pretty good all rounders and in pitches like these they are not going to be useful and Ashwin got out for an unplayable ball in the first inning and second inning he disappointed but one man couldn't turn the match anyway from that point.

Indian bowlers never tried to get better in their batting skills in the long history which is a point of concern and that should change at least from now on and give some batting practice to the bowlers too so they can hang around if there is a batter on the other side.
