When should todays "payout" be expected?
722  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2500 GH] BTC Guild - Pure PPS Merged Mining, now testing STRATUM Mining on: September 16, 2012, 01:41:38 AM
eleuthria... what is the expected fee % after the testing period for stratum? Hopefully its somewhat lower since we won't be using as much of the server resources.
723  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: FastCash4Bitcoins Support Thread on: September 15, 2012, 08:00:50 PM
Why is it you guys are out of funds SO often? Your service would be quite a lot more useful if payouts were more readily available.

Quote
Buying GPU now could be very risky for very little potential profit.

FWIW, I bought 7950s a week ago for a large mining rig to mine litecoin.  While bitcoin may quickly move to ASIC mining, litecoin is unlikely to in the near future and has been profitable for me to mine for the past 10 months.

I'm hoarding all the LTC I can right now because I believe as soon as ASICs come to dominate bitcoin the value of LTC will increase by an order of magnitude or more.

I would think you will see the opposite. Once ASICs arrive and the bitcoin difficulty increases by an order of magnitude, if people do switch over to mining litecoins, then you will have a sudden increase of selling pressure for litecoins, driving the price down.

If this occurs, it would be wise to sell your litecoins before ASICs arrive and not after Smiley

Depends if people value a LTC more highly then or now. One's opinion is the gamble he decides to make.

Kind of like the question: "should I buy facebook stock now or later or never?".. nobody knows the future, one can just do their research and make the best guess available.

50btc and btcguild are good PPS guilds. you can withdrawl the btc as soon as the share is submitted.
726  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2500 GH] BTC Guild - Pure PPS Merged Mining, now testing STRATUM Mining on: September 14, 2012, 02:00:57 AM
What am I doing wrong?   Embarrassed

Worker names are case sensitive in the pool currently.  I think thats your problem.  Copy it _exactly_ as it appears on the My Workers page.

When connecting "normally" case doesnt matter for the worker name, for the stratum it seemed to suddenly matter (or maybe running as admin is needed).

Either way, i couldnt get it working at first either but after reading this post I was able to.. woot!
727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Project Development] cgEasy 1.0.0--Generate CGminer config for LTC Mining easy! on: September 12, 2012, 08:21:13 PM

Try this reaper litecoin configuration:
Code:
host yourhost.com
port 8344
user xxx
pass xxx

protocol litecoin

worksize 256
vectors 1
aggression 20
threads_per_gpu 1
sharethreads 32
lookup_gap 2
gpu_thread_concurrency 16384

I got this from some Russians, they use 64 * (memory bus size) for the gpu_thread_concurrency ...

I gave that a try and got 490-500 khash. This is with 1130mhz core/1200mhz memory on two 7870s and the computer is absolutely unusable (due to the high agression).

This is the config i typically use.. and I get 615 khash with it and the computer is perfectly responsive (with 99% gpu utilization).

Code:

worksize 256
aggression 12
cpu_mining_threads 0
threads_per_gpu 5
sharethreads 18
lookup_gap 2
gpu_thread_concurrency 6400

730  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Which Card Has The Fastest ROI? on: September 12, 2012, 01:26:14 AM
Will you get your money back JUST from mining.. NOPE

Will you get your money back from mining AND from selling the card again in a few months for almost what you paid for it with a few extra dollars on the side.. probably..
731  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [DB.RCLMR] DeepBit "Reclaimer" ASICs on: September 12, 2012, 12:40:12 AM
Competition is always a good thing. And depending on how many people order BFL products and how long it takes to deliver X units, it could be quite awhile before all orders that are placed in say sept/oct of this year are filled.

Also, depending on how this is setup, it could be substantially more convenient from a placement/cabling perspective compared to trying to deal with 20 individual units vs a rack.
732  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Using mining gear for other financial purposes? on: September 12, 2012, 12:32:55 AM
I'm using my Bitcoin hardware for the same thing I used it for before I even knew Bitcoin existed - gaming.  Still waiting for the day that Skyrim becomes a "financial purpose," though.

Renting it out to buddies for $2/hour or whatever is the closest you'll get
733  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Can't find blkindex.dat or APPDATA file anywhere? on: September 11, 2012, 08:59:37 PM
appdata is a hidden folder. That makes it more difficult to find if you do now know specifically where to look or how to show hidden folders.

the %appdata% is a variable within windows that always points to your appdata folder, hence why it was so easy.
734  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [3200 Gh/s] 50BTC.com - PPS, INSTANT payout (LR, qiwi, WM,...), API, no stales on: September 11, 2012, 08:56:17 PM

At least for me the mining graph is now showing properly.

I guess they 'overpaid' me earlier today, as I now show a negative BTC balance lol

I'd say it is still safe to mine here at least...
735  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What will happen to people with non-BFL FPGAs (once ASIC arrives) on: September 11, 2012, 02:07:44 AM
Doing LTC mining on my CPUS (bout 11 ltc a day worth) is nice, as you actually feel like you are earning something (in terms of units, not $$), compared to the lowly 0.65 BTC I earn a day from my 4 GPU's.
736  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best way to turn Bitcoin into dollars? on: September 11, 2012, 02:00:50 AM

...

Here's a comprehensive list of cash-out methods:

It is highly important to me that I give minimal personal info to an organization who's data security I have little trust in.  Enough so that I was about to quit PayPal the other day rather than send them a scan of my photo-ID.  (In trying to quit I found that they didn't need it after all, so I am still a customer of theirs BTW.)  I don't mind providing proof of address and my SSN, but biometric info; not doin' it.  And I happen to trust PayPal's data security much more than any Bitcoin related organization that I can think of.

So, what I miss on that chart is an indication of what kinds of info a vendor requires to remove what amount of cash.  Seems like you (Stephen) take an active interest in the wiki (which I highly appreciate) so I mention it on this thread.  If there were a way to add a column to that chart which could illuminate this aspect of things...and be maintainable...it would be cool.

fastcash4bitcoins will need the paypal email addy for that method or account/routing number for an ACH/Wire payment. The paypal method worked well, they provide you with a website to track the progress to ensure they got your coins and whether or not the tx was confirmed or not.

They also pay pretty well. Its about 5% lower after fees from the direct mtgox rate.

737  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Anyone have a good remote access system for their mining rigs ? on: September 10, 2012, 10:29:15 PM
Anyone used logmein?

Hells yeah!

I vastly prefer LogMeIn over TeamViewer.

If you use iOS logmein is better
Android doesnt yet have a free logmein client (its $30).

Teamviewer is free for both android and iOS.

Teamviewer is more convenient for logging in from a desktop/laptop.

Just my experience...
738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Profit with litecoins? on: September 09, 2012, 05:12:09 AM
Thanks again.

I joined litecoincash.com and get 250 khash/s ... the servers seems to run still fine.

What does that mean for money / month ?
I checked http://ltc.kattare.com/calc.php and it says ~3 BTC or ~30 USD / month. Correct?

1 LTC = .04 USD currently

That means you need about 25 LTC per dollar earned.

at 120 khash I am getting about 11 LTC a day in a PPS pool, this comes out to about $13 a month.

So yes, your numbers are correct
739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Project Development] cgEasy 1.0.0--Generate CGminer config for LTC Mining easy! on: September 09, 2012, 03:28:12 AM
(If this is inappropriate for this thread mods are free to delete it or OP can let me know and I will modify as necessary)

After looking into this a bit further and trying multiple things out this is what I have found:

Reaper looks like the tool to use for 7000 series cards.

I could never get above about 130 khash on a 7870 with cgminer. With reaper, i am getting about 310.

The following three links helped me get the info I needed to properly set it up. I thought i'd share this with the rest of you guys so you dont have to search for it as well Smiley

CGminer is where it is at.

Do a search for "CGeasy" it is a little java app that will automate the setup of the card.
