7241  Economy / Economics / Re: US Outlook if/when Bernake retires? on: June 19, 2013, 02:53:19 PM
The federal reserve is a private central bank, do your research folks, nothing will change as long as currency is in the hands of private interests, this is why everyone is beginning to like Bitcoin so much.
7242  Economy / Speculation / Re: Manipulation army on: June 19, 2013, 02:43:27 PM
I believe I've already commented on this before but because Bitcoin is a deflationary and decentralised currency it would be very difficult to manipulate the price, if anyone decided to just suddenly buy up Bitcoins with an inflationary currency like the dollar then the price would just go up that high they wouldn't be able to afford it and if they of course tried printing more money to cover the costs then like with constantly spending beyond their means the currency would just become worthless and they'd have to pay millions in paper money just to get a few Bitcoins nevermind a hundred or higher.

Do you really think the NSA, CIA or whoever would try to kill Snowden? I say again, absurd.

When has the U.S government ever given a shit about what people like you think is absurd? They went and organised an illegal spying operation on Kim Dotcom just for setting up a file hosting site for fucks sake and in another country I should add.
7246  Other / Politics & Society / Re: what is your political preference? on: June 19, 2013, 10:37:35 AM

7247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoins for Edward Snowden. on: June 19, 2013, 10:21:59 AM
Snowden isn't in any danger at all (except, perhaps from kidnap by foreign intelligence operatives).

It's absurd to think the US authorities would try to kill him. He would have been perfectly safe had he stayed in the US too.

You might not have been paying attention ...

You know they have the death penalty in the U.S and people have been talking about how the government are considering targeting U.S Citizens they think are terrorists right?
7248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Curious why so many people are invested in Shitty bitcoin companies? on: June 19, 2013, 10:19:25 AM
I understand what you're saying, I think some of the ASIC companies I know of are doing it just for a hobby really I know on this forum and don't really have much of a stake in it. What we need are some real companies that have plans, I know Kenilworth have gotten me interested because they're actually planning on doing mining and exploration in the real world.
7249  Other / Off-topic / Re: Let's talk about how hot Asian girls are. on: June 18, 2013, 06:09:23 PM
It's not that Asian girls are demigods. It's just that western women suck and are becoming feminist, entitled nazis. If you want to partner up with a decent human being, look anywhere but the US.

There's a reason why the native US birthrate is on decline.

ever since the vote...tsk tsk

LOL And I thought I was troubled by western girls but you guys are going misogynist Tongue, in their defence I think the problem is most of the nice ones tend to be either immediately taken or honest and tell you straight up whether they're into you or not, at least that's been my experience, so only the evil ones are left. When it comes to the ones that are evil bitches there are usually signs you can look out for, not necessarily by how many boyfriends they've had but how many boyfriends they've had over a short period of time, usually that's for a reason.

It really is amazing though, I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this because the moment I talk to girls outside the UK their attitudes are completely different to me usually >_<

p.s. M0ar asian boobs Cheesy

7250  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Force all Law Enforcement Officers to wear uniform embedded cameras. on: June 18, 2013, 02:17:55 PM
Well lets put it this way, it's the old argument they use against us constantly saying if you have nothing to hide then you should have nothing to fear, the problem is, they can only say this because they aren't on the receiving end as well. I'd like to see how well they'd deal with getting watched constantly and having the personal lives invaded at every turn, if the police are doing nothing illegal then they should be fine, otherwise, according to their logic, they've got something to hide Tongue.
7251  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Force all Law Enforcement Officers to wear uniform embedded cameras. on: June 18, 2013, 08:01:20 AM
Holy balls and people are actually signing it? Yes I'd like to see that as well, then whenever they're being absolute cunts they'll get caught, it would be nice to have this here in the UK as well.
7252  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: has anyone tried "double your bitcoins"? on: June 17, 2013, 10:50:45 PM

This reminds me of the scams in eve-online, basically the same thing. Send me ISK, I'll double it. The way it works is they will usually double small amounts and then when some idiot sends a big amount, they don't double it but just keep it.

I told you all you'd get good experience of a Bitcoin economy by playing EVE Tongue
7253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The snowball effect of bitcoin-only sale on: June 17, 2013, 08:54:12 PM
I don't know if this is old news to you lot but you might still be interested, I think this is already happening, at least for the startups and such, there is a startup miner recently that popped up onto Bitcoinfunder.

I didn't get scammed by Paypal Tongue did get scammed by btcjam though but that was more at the fault of the user than them they just set up the network Sad

Oh and fuck you, I know what happens on this site if you agree to a bet lol Tongue
7255  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Suing PayPal on: June 17, 2013, 07:11:18 PM
I'm no lawyer but people should know by now that Terms of Service means jack shit, companies can't just put whatever the hell they like and expect the law to back them up, EA will tell you that Wink license agreements and terms of service are never legally binding unless it's officially backed up by the courts.
7256  Other / Off-topic / Re: Plan to build life-sized Simpsons theme park on: June 17, 2013, 06:00:38 PM

7257  Economy / Services / Re: Art contest: win some BTC, shape the visual future of Bitcoin gaming. on: June 17, 2013, 05:54:49 PM
Is it bad that I've been laughing at this whole thread? Tongue Seriously though, no artist worth the money is going to go out of there way to make you an extremely nice and detailed drawing for only the 'chance' to win some money what was ever wrong with asking for a portfolio and then picking someone based on that work like you do with any other art based job?
7258  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-06-17 Washington Post: Can Bitcoin make peace with Washington? on: June 17, 2013, 05:01:56 PM

That has put the Bitcoin Foundation in the hotseat. Founded just nine months ago, the foundation provides an official public face for the cryptocurrency. It employs Gavin Andresen, Bitcoin’s lead developer. And the organization is in charge of soothing regulators who are worried about the decentralized cryptocurrency being used for illegal purposes.

Last week the foundation sent two of its top officials, Andresen and general counsel Patrick Murck, to Washington for a daylong conference sponsored by Thomson Reuters and the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children. The Thursday event gave Andresen and Murck a chance to address head-on one of the most explosive criticisms of Bitcoin: that the currency is used to purchase child pornography.

Should have fucking known, Bitcoin's self-appointed leaders are at it again, the article even had the balls to call them two of the most 'senior' figures in this community as if it meant something.
7259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To get mass adoption we need to sort out these decimals on: June 17, 2013, 04:16:20 PM
I actually find it more complicated and annoying if you start associating names with numbers, what's the point? It's nothing to do with people thinking in round numbers. It's just that some people have a preference for different sorts of mathematics. I recently discovered if I look at programming with different colours on it I have a much easier time reading everything for instance than I do in the bland default view and so on, you just got to make it as customisable as possible so people can use what they prefer.
7260  Other / Off-topic / Re: Xbox One on: June 17, 2013, 02:55:43 PM
What will more likely with consoles like the Xbox one is that they'll keep it going and keep releasing them as long as they can until finally admitting 10 years later it was a complete failure, or like with Star Wars Galaxies and SOE they'll stay in denial about it until the bitter end.
