In order to get the merchants acceptance and attention, we will need to start pushing Digit towards exchanges. There are plenty of choices, but only few of them are popular enough to truly make a difference.

We could start building up votes in Cryptsy and Mintpal but to be frank, it might not be realistic to get listed on those sites without injecting a substantial amount of BTC to acquire enough votes. As previously mentioned, we have decided to not buy our way into any exchanges.
This leaves us with only a few choices, but there is one excellent service provider that does not take BTC for voting and has proven its legitimacy. That service is called CoinedUp. They have a Reddit voting system for helping them decide if a coin is popular enough to be added.
With your aid, we can try to get accepted by that exchange. For that to work, please go to their subreddit and vote up our link. We'd especially appreciate if you added a supportive comment to go with it.

BTW, if you mining at MineP.it you may have seen that the blocks weren't updating. This was just a reporting issue and the blocks were still being found. The stats should be updated now and everything is running as normal again.

Thanks!

Cant log in at the site. Anyone got the same problem?

At the MineP.it site? What happens when you try?

My worker got temp banned ? Whats going on ? Are you updating the MineP.it site or something ?

I have a doubt in my purse MINT is now locked up, so I can get the interest POS it? Someone said to me there is no need to lock off the wallet can take POS interest, I really do not know how to do it. Please help me! Huh

Keep unlocked and opening

Manually open the wallet is unlocked every day, or completely cancel the password?

version 1.9.1 :

no need to cancel password

1 : unlock wallet
2 : check if coins are mature enough (hover with your mousepointer over symbol left to your connection bar in your wallet)
3 : if coins mature --> keep wallet unlocked for 12-24 hours
4 : look at your transactions for incoming mint transactions
5 : when minted successfully,  lock wallet .. wait 20 days and then back to step 1

voted for mintcoin and will do again tomorrow

qwizzie

Don't forget to support MINT in voting for a secure, anonymous online wallet!

MINT is currently second place, just a few hundred votes behind BlackCoin. You can vote once every 12 hours or get 5 votes if you have a free account.

simple reason .. it needs 20 days to mint again. If you download 1.9.1 you will see information next to your connection bar if you have mature coins,
can come really in handy. Also try to use the coincontrol features to bundle your transactions together by sending it to your own address .. this will make it
one large transaction that will get easier to mint (just remember it will reset coinage of all coins you selected in your bundling)

Is there a reason why my wallet wont mint? Since I upgraded to 1.9 I have not seen 1 mint. It is unlocked and I am using the windows wallet. 4/28 was the last time I saw a new stake.

I have mature coins. It even says I should see a reward in 9 mins. But its been like that for about a week.

Just give it another night and if nothing is still minted the next day give us a pic of yr transactions to look at (also a pic of yr transactions through coincontrol)

There are a few things i feel are working against Mintcoin (and a lot of other alt coins) at the moment :

- Bitcoin has been for some time on a downtrend due to all that stuff happening in China and ofcourse the collapse of Mt Gox, dragging a lot of alt coins on a downward trend with it.
- The total cap on coins is so large with Mintcoin that you have to be realistic and see this as a longterm project and treat it as such.
- The number of altcoins available as of today makes it harder to get attention for this coin (however, Mintcoin staying steady at rank 28 (http://coinmarketcap.com/) is not that bad
   when you think about it).
- All altcoin are basicly still in a startup fase, it will take a few years before the general public will be aware of them and they outgrow the pump and dump schemes.

Two things i'm looking forward too :

- android app for Mintcoin
- the Mintcoin Fund realisation (this one might bring out a nice green rabbit from a hat labeled Mintcoin)

Just my two cents..

edit : about the premine... i dont really care about it, they mention ''1% premine for bounties, giveaways, development, support and maintenance, new feature developments etc'' on the first post.
i understand a large part will go to the forming of the Mintcoin Fund and i really dont need to know all the little details tbh.

That just great... your handicapping the newbee's on this bitcointalk forum pretty hard with this new giveaway. I thought giveaway's were to be
fairly distributed ? i cant get further then ''url=https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=59763'' with this 50 characters restriction.
quote : ''Rewards will differ according to your forum status and activity'' ? i dont like this part at all tbh.

question about solo-mining : is it still possible ? i'm mining with 700 kh/s and would be competing
against two pools (one pool of 10Mh/s and one pool of 5.6 MH/s).

Im solo mining as well. Current difficulty is low enough i quess. If difficulty does not go up too much then you should be able to find a your first block at least in 24 hours.  I think even sooner, but it depends on luck as usual. Smiley

thanks for your fast reply, here is hoping for luck to be on our (our solo-miners) side Smiley

i consider the no major setbacks so far for the forming of the MintCoin Fund as good news too ... so keep up the good work.

qwizzie

Ok so over and over the same half a dozen people repeat "this coin is amazing" "strong buy indicators" etc honestly nice sentiments but absolutely no evidence to support these claims. We have been languishing for quite a while now, what is being done to actually improve the value of mint? Donations and merchant acceptance are all well and good but historically they haven't done much to prices.

There's a plan, but we need MintCoin Fund to be official first.
Hi,

I was not much active on the thread recently. But I read every single post (I really do - and there are some that really warm my heart).

It is my pleasure to announce I received a letter from the French Administration (I could scan the letter, but since it is in French, I don't think it would be that interesting, plus the fact that I am already working on corrections). There is one good news and one bad news.
The bad news is there are some things they want me to modify. It is on the way.
The good news is that those things are minor ones. For the most part, the French administration is fine with Mintcoin Fund.

Of course, as long as it is not formally accepted by the fiscal administration, we could still get bad surprises. But so far, so good Smiley

Stay fresh friends!

i hate to say this but it all comes over as a bit passive :

- waiting in the hope that a pool comes by and picks up Digit (i'm glad Minep.it saw your announcement and picked it up by themself, same with the other pool)
- waiting in the hope that an exchange will accept Digit (none so far, are there initiatives to actively approach the exchanges?)
- i posted a post about transactionfees getting stuck on 0 .. no reply
- tbh i'm not even sure how many coins will be in circulation in the end .. its not mentioned on your first post.

Normally these new coins have several things already arranged at launch-time, i'm getting the feeling this is not the case with this coin.

How big is your development-team anyways ? Maybe they should introduce themselves in here ?

Android wallet can now be used? The team continues to work in the heart,Thank you for your efforts

Android wallet not finished yet ... but paspi is making some very good progress.

Android wallet update 4:

Next steps:
First job is to get coin stake verification working. It is the single big goal since the beginning. There isn't much left, I can clearly see what's ahead. Should be done tomorrow.

Then I will start integration with UI. Hopefully we'll see some action at the end of the weekend Smiley

How's it going?
I couldn't spare much time these days, been busy at work. But I got the stake kernel hash verification almost complete -- everything's now implemented in the codebase, just the calculated numbers don't match yet with main client.

i like it, i like it a lot !!  wow .. Mintcoin on position 22

tip 1 : pls add MintPal in the Market Capitalization & Statistics as crypto-exchange, it has the largest trading volume of Mintcoin
tip 2 : maybe you could move the Facebook likes a bit up, perhaps put it in the upper right corner ? its kinda blocking the latest news window

i have 1.9.1 installed on my C drive (SSD drive) with default installation path and a version installed on my D drive (HDD drive)
with an extra option -datadir=D:\MintcoinData so it knows where to look for the datadir.

In both cases Mintcoin takes a long time to load and if you look at it with the taskcontrol its loading the necessary RAM for
Mintcoin-Qt.exe really really slow.

Thats whats worries me .. if i compare it with for example starting up the latest Bitcoin wallet i notice it loads the RAM up in a few seconds while
with the Mintcoin wallet it takes the RAM loading several minutes.

7339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MINT]Mintcoin V1.9.1, Energy Saving Coin *27 Exchanges *50 Merchants on: May 01, 2014, 06:31:56 PM
question that got raised in the reddit forum of Mintcoin by Sudeep1360:

Wallet takes forever to open!
Is it just me. been over 10 minutes and still stuck on loading block index. become much slower after the update to 1.9

http://www.reddit.com/r/MintCoin/comments/24fqx1/wallet_takes_forever_to_open/

********************************************************************

I responded with the following :

Found the wallet starting slow from the start .. mostly it seems to be just loading RAM memory very slow till it reaches something like 150 MB RAM and then it will start the actual program. However this shouldnt take 10 minutes as you describe. More like 2 minutes top..

You could try adding -dbcache=200 in the shortcut, in theory this should force Mintcoin to dedicate 200 RAM memory for its operations.

example : rightclick shortcut and click properties, then shortcut, then target

change

C:\Mintcoin\mintcoin-qt.exe

to

C:\Mintcoin\mintcoin-qt.exe -dbcache=200

note : tbh i'm not sure the whole -dbcache=... command option is properly put into the mintcoin wallet, it was introduced much better into the latest bitcoin wallet and works far more effective in there it seems.

**********************************************************************************

see link for how its currently implemented in the bitcoin wallet : http://imgur.com/RWXG51M

question to this forum : is this something you guys regnonice ? this slow starting of Mintcoin wallet ? Is it indeed RAM related ? Or could it be something else ?
