Perhaps it is time to make a statement somewhat related to the advertisement above. There's a lot of opportunity for new altcoins to spend money for an edge over the competition. For example, the trend in most exchanges seems to point towards buy-ins and unfair voting systems. Naturally, the altcoins that are already listed on exchanges gather popularity at a much faster rate.

We, the Digit development team, think that buying artificial fame for the coin is not an acceptable idea. As previously stated, we firmly believe that our goals must be reached by utilising the support and the trust of the community, something that simply can't be bought for BTC or any other type of currency and that is what we'll always strive for.

That just great... your handicapping the newbee's on this bitcointalk forum pretty hard with this new giveaway. I thought giveaway's were to be
fairly distributed ? i cant get further then ''url=https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=59763'' with this 50 characters restriction.
quote : ''Rewards will differ according to your forum status and activity'' ? i dont like this part at all tbh.

Hello qwizzie,

You can leave out the link if you are restricted by the 50 char limit.
This giveaway is more of a bounty-style giveaway. We've changed the announcement accordingly.

In order to get the merchants acceptance and attention, we will need to start pushing Digit towards exchanges. There are plenty of choices, but only few of them are popular enough to truly make a difference.

We could start building up votes in Cryptsy and Mintpal but to be frank, it might not be realistic to get listed on those sites without injecting a substantial amount of BTC to acquire enough votes. As previously mentioned, we have decided to not buy our way into any exchanges.
This leaves us with only a few choices, but there is one excellent service provider that does not take BTC for voting and has proven its legitimacy. That service is called CoinedUp. They have a Reddit voting system for helping them decide if a coin is popular enough to be added.
With your aid, we can try to get accepted by that exchange. For that to work, please go to their subreddit and vote up our link. We'd especially appreciate if you added a supportive comment to go with it.

CoinedUp would be nice indeed! They have decent volumes and their API should be good.
I really like DSF the attitude. Too bad that Announcements subforum is overflowed with all the "get rich quick" coins.

BTW, if you mining at MineP.it you may have seen that the blocks weren't updating. This was just a reporting issue and the blocks were still being found. The stats should be updated now and everything is running as normal again.

Thanks!
