Totally off topic... but you have a beautiful house yeah, I second that...I would like to live in a more wooded area. Which state is it (somewhere North East)? Hoover, Alabama OT: Houston here, but we have a similar area up north a bit-Woodlands (name speaks for itself)-great for families w/kids, lots of space.

So I purchase and Sp20 Jackson back in October and have been trying to get this thing to run and I am having alot of trouble understanding how the voltages break down when setting this miner. Any ways I have 2 Corsair CX750's. Each are 744 Watts, 12 Volts, 62 Amps. I am trying to find out what settings i should put this miner at so that it can remain stable. I really think I am doing my math wrong when it comes to figuring out what my Watts vs Voltage settings should be. Any help or pointing me to some good reference material would be greatly appreciated.
you are already at the right place. I don't have links ready since I sold my SP20E, but there are pages and pages of settings on this very thread. 1. don't think about it as a calculation, but more like tweaking. 2. when tweaking, it is better to change just one parameter at the time, otherwise you would not know what cause the resulting hashing change 3. here were my settings (to do this, click on advanced settings button): Fan speed: 20 (you could try 10 if your ambient is 72-75F or lower, mine was 80-83F) Start volts unit 1: 0.642 unit2: 0.642 unit3: 0.642 unit4: 0.642 Voltage limit: 0.647 max PSU Power unit 1: 165 unit 2: 153 <-you see, this was specific to my machine only because at higher power this unit was overheating (you can try setting all at 165 initially) unit 3: 165 unit 4: 165 restart miner if rate is below :500 mining rate with these setting was 1222 Gh with 650-660W, which is close to most efficient , at least for my machine. after miner reaches steady state, you need to check ASIC stats page and make sure that none of the chips have temperatures more than 115C (it does not matter within 85-115 range, anything there is good) and it is also better if mhz ratings are in white, not yellow, but yellow is acceptable (although with yellow there is a small drop in efficiency). I also suggest to dust-off the insides, but ONLY using compressed air DUST OFF. This improved some chips behavior in my machine after few months of usage. If your miner is used, you cannot be sure how well it was treated beforehand.

Hi Beffje,
Can you show us how you setup the tube - I am trying to reduce the sound from my S7s - the neighbors are complaining now :-(
Thanks TMT
I put a piece of foam in front of the intake. Before I did that the miner was running at approx 75 Decimals After It is down to 59 Decimals here is a screenshot of the temperature. The miner is sitting in a garage with 6 other miners going. weird, i don see the image in chrome Nor do I, here you go https://www.dropbox.com/s/tma3fwh1lk5bym3/20151114_181306.jpg?dl=0that little thing changed the noise from 75dB to 59dB? I will try it tomorrow...

Anybody had already an experience as to how S7 behaves at 0-10C? Better, worse?
As far as heating-last winter i had 2kw in miners pretty much throughout in ~2800 sq ft house and noticed approximately 50% reduction in nat gas bill during winter. No heating so far this fall, but we were down only to 58F (14.5C) so far. So, it does help somewhat.

You have a broken miner.
Is it just me, or does it seems like the S7's are one of the most problematic Bitmain products ever ? Weirder problems than S5 at least. I wonder why though. probably uneven heat distribution and temp sensor is not in the right place, hence does not shut it down promptly.

There is nothing strange. Powered S7 blades go warm and take power even when the controller is not powered. At least it happened with my all 3 not working blades.
When this happens with the warm Miner and some blades stay powered, and the controller with fans is not powered, then after a few hours something overheats .
indeed, i found it out accidentally as well, but if controller is powered (with miner not hashing due to internet loss or something else), then fans start rotating at medium speed (at least with 10/23 system) and air is coming out warm, but not superheated.

Not sure if you are interested, but I have 2 LEPA 1600's.
sorry, not at this time.

Okay. I have what you need. If you go up a little. I will provide a NIB, but I have a slightly used in box complete with cable as well.
Wait you live in West U. Just meet me up locally. BTC please.
do you have two or just one? PMed

This i my ROI point of view: This calculation is based on the fact that you have the money to pay for the miner package + hosting for a year, on hand, so that the alternative is to buy coins instead of mining gear for that amount of money. Calc inputs: Difficulty increment: 4% #I seriously doubt it will be below 4% on average. Pool fee: 2.5% #Based on Ant PPS. Even if you are mining on 0% fee PPLNS. You can't expect more than 98% luck on average IMO. Hashrate: 3500 #Based on 3650TH/s -4%. They have stated +/- 5%, lets try to be realistic. Hardware price: 1436$ (Ex. hosting/PSU rental) Hardware price in BTC: 4.373 Watts: 1000 Start date: 11-30 Maintain cost/month: ~58$ #Based on 0.0661$/KWH aka hosting, and 10$/month PSU rental url snipped Seems like you will never earn back the amount of BTC you put into this. Miner cost + 1 year hosting = 1436 + 696 = 2132$ total invested. If you buy coins today for that amount of money, this will give you 6.41 BTC. If you buy gear, you pay 4.37 BTC up front, which you won't mine back. Unless you get cheaper hosting or $/KWH. PS: There are 3 months of hosting at 0.047$/KW, that is not considered in this calc. PS: Calc does not take halving into consideration. If you can't ROI without halving, you probably can't with it either Am I missing something? Better to buy coins than gear, in terms of ROI? Disclaimer: You can ofc ROI this in terms of $, if BTC price skyrocket. My point being, it's always better to buy coins.you are not putting btc into it, but $$. Don't put in bitcoin that you already have. these calculations never account for btc price change, and therefore cannot be trusted. Start with $$, end up with $$ and put in various bitcoin price scenarios. Besides, where in your calculations is the RESIDUAL value for the miner? It was ~55% in BTC and 35% in $$ for SP30 after 12 mo and 53% of SP20 in $$ and astonishing 78% in btc after 10.5 mo (even with a high price paid for SP20 before discount to $400-500).

to biodom and ariesIV10 how do you set fans?
manual or auto?
hint manual should stop issue.
try 60% or s0
and 60% is not that slow. about 4000rpm
I normally leave mine blank (100% and Auto). I did try setting the fans to 60%, 50%, 40% with no change-----No Hashing. I also tried hard/soft reboots with no change----No Hashing. I do have them separated from the group so that I can work with them. https://i.imgur.com/nqtRlyq.pngAre you running oct 23 firmware? Do you have static or dynamic ip addresses? Looks like the Dns is working, all pools alive. Are you running oct 23 firmware?---Latest Firmware Do you have static or dynamic ip addresses?---Dynamic Looks like the Dns is working, all pools alive.---Yup, all alive except No Hash Did you try the router trick? Besides, if you have some bridge, like airport express, you need to replug it as well. This worked for me in an identical situation. I just reset my modem and router, unplugged all of my devices and restarted with no change. bummer...maybe try to reflash the operating system image again, don't remember if you did this already or not. sometimes I also just touch/push on connectors, but it might be futile...i was probably just lucky that it came back from a similar situation (a random event). EDIT: bad miner messed up formely good controller? Wow. You are not wearing a sweater by any chance (ESD?)

my other point is that the overall sentiment on this forum seems to remain super-bullish, no matter what the price trend. Yet, (aside from a few temporary jumps like last week) we remain bearish. I just think that the few whales who I think are affecting the price act independently of anything that is said on this forum.
The number of people posting could be a better sentiment indicator than the nature of the posts they make. Before the pump to 500 there were very few of the regulars left posting, and considerably less posts on the forum overall. Once the pump started users who had been inactive for months started posting prolifically. I concur. I've been away for a few months and didn't care about my bitcoins. Lately I checked up on bitcoin and joy to my eyes it's going bullish again. I believe that many early investors will return to the scene to watch their investment. Anyway I see my bitcoins as a long term investment and will probably leave them for 5 more years unless they hit the 10k plus so I can buy a house with them ;-). check this for the fresh insight: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1248717.0

Why is it only showing 48 ASICS per board instead of 54? Did you use the wrong firmware by chance?
This is S7 software but with broken boards and temp 0 yssue He sees only 48 chips I normally leave mine blank (100% and Auto). I did try setting the fans to 60%, 50%, 40% with no change-----No Hashing. I also tried hard/soft reboots with no change----No Hashing. I do have them separated from the group so that I can work with them. https://i.imgur.com/nqtRlyq.png You have a broken miner. You need to contact with info@bitmaintech.com I had three blades with the same issue from 2 different miners, which showed only 48 chips and temp 0 and they are now back in China.
Did you try the router trick? Besides, if you have some bridge, like airport express, you need to replug it as well. This worked for me in an identical situation.
identical situation - only 48 chip ant temp 0 ?sorry, did not count chips, but vaguely remember that rows of "o" were uneven vs usual, but could be wrong about it. not sure if i looked at temp..
